| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Edward closed the Library door behind him quietly, as it was nearly lockdown. It had been another boring evening and the Slytherin was tired after a whole day of classes, which was why he chose to pass the time with a book instead of his bitchy housemates. He had however stayed longer than he intended to. It would be a real bummer if he were to stumble upon some Auror on his way to the Dungeons. Sneaking through the corridors, he stopped in the shadows when he heard a noise from the staircase. Bugger. (OOC: Okay, I'm bored. ^^ Absolutely everyone is welcome to join in. If anyone has planned plots with Ed, this could be also a way to do them.) |

Blake had decided that wandering through the Corridors would be a great way to pass the time. It gave him the opportunity to think about what he - no, they- had done. Being caught sneaking around the corridors at night could raise suspicion, especially after Kemp's speech. But he was crouched down, lowering the chances of anybody seeing him. In theory. He was scared. The M.L.E. Head had caused his paranoia level to skyrocket, which explained why his wand was sticking out of his pocket. The Squires could be anywhere, ready to intersect him. Blake could be next. The speech had seemed a bit stupid, but Blake had killed. Francesca had killed. Even Sommer, who seemed so innocent, had been involved. The interrogations were just around the corner. They would find out. They would. And he would spend the rest of his years in Askaban. Blake paused, feeling the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Somebody else was standing in the Corridor with him. He brought his wand up as slowly as possible, his grip tight. He held it out in front of him, taking a few cautious steps forward. He noticed a figure that had seemed almost invisible, but he stepped past it, then whirled around. Blake wasn't great with magic, but he could defend himself if he needed to. First, though, he needed to see who it was. "Stupefy!" (Alright. I don't know whether or not they should already know eachother, but I think that it would be cool if they did.) |

Edward stood silently by a suit of armour, wand ready in his hand. He knew the castle was no longer safe, but whoever was coming, the Slytherin was ready for them. Obviously, he wasn't so stupid as to attack a teacher or an Auror, and it wasn't likely one of his housemates would attack him, but better safe than sorry. Observing the character getting closer, he finally recognized the person. Rolling his eyes at his own growing paranoia, he holstered the wand and was about to step forward when Blake spun around. "Blake, you id-" Edward couldn't finish his sentence as the stunning curse met with his chest. He stumbled backwards as his vision blackened and muscles gave up, and fell to the floor, instinctively reaching for the suite of armour on his way. The piece of metal swayed and followed him soon afterwards. Although not knowing how long he was out, Edward's eyes snapped open. It took him a second before he realized where he was. Blake's spell likely wasn't strong enough to keep him unconscious for long. Still, he shot the boy above him an angry look. "Are you insane?!" she whispered vigorously. "What are you doing lurking in the corridors, attacking people?" If it had been someone else, Edward would have likely returned the favour, but he had known Blake for some time, so he didn't act on this impulse. Besides, the Gryffindor was still Beth's friend as far as he knew. When they had parted, however, Edward no longer spoke to Blake as he sometimes used to during his first years at Hogwarts. They grew quite distant since then. (OOC: So I made up this little background story for them - let me know if I should edit or feel free to add something. And it's up to you if you want to stop the armour from crashing and possibly getting attention or not ^^) |

"Oh," he said, recognizing Edward's voice. By the time he'd decided it would be a good idea to keep the boy on his feet, Edward was on the ground. And a piece of armor was in the air. Blake reached his hand out, catching it with his fingertips. He breathed a sigh of relief. The Squires could still be there. In fact, Edward could have been one, but that was unlikely. There was a moment of silence between the two, with Blake trying to figure out whether to just walk away or not. Edward seemed unconcious. Blake had been so scared of somebody jumping out and attacking him that it caused him to do the exact thing to Edward. It was a tad bit ironic. "Sooo," he kept his voice low in case there was anyone else around. It was a bit dark, making it hard to tell whether or not Edward was unconcious. He was about to reach down and tap Ed's forehead when the boy seemed to come to. "Insane's my middle name," he answered with a shaky grin. Blake thought about what might have happened if it had been a Squire and the spell had missed. The results could have been messy, with a large chance of Blake losing his life. The reputation their group had gotten suggested that they were cruel, heartless people: exactly the kind of person Blake would normally steer clear of. He'd have to remember that for any other encounter with them. He scoffed. What was he doing there? "Well, if you must know..." he paused. Blake didn't know whether or not it would have been a good idea to tell Edward the truth. Hi. I killed someone. Goodbye, the end. "I can't explain why," he said, shaking his head and massaging his temples with his fingers. It didn't even make sense to him. "Did you hear Kemp's speech?" he asked, knowing a few people that had skipped dinner for various reasons. (I liked the background story. I also had him catch the armor, since I thought it would be a good idea. XD) Edited by Blake Yorson, Jul 9 2011, 05:13:21 PM.

"My bad, should have known that by now," Edward replied sarcastically as he got to his feet with a low groan, rubbing the back of his head. Glancing around in case anyone overheard them, he proceeded to brush his robes off of any invisible dust that could have covered them. Noticing the suit of armour Blake had been holding, he gave the other boy an important look. Had it smashed onto Edward, he wouldn't care whose friend he was. "You know, you're lucky it was only me. I doubt Tortal or Blackwood would have been as forgiving, let alone some of the crazy Aurors strolling around." Amusingly enough, Blake didn't want to admit what he was doing there. "Oh-kay," Edward commented slowly, raising an eyebrow at Blake. He wasn't the type to pry information from others, as he usually didn't care enough anyway. "No, I left early," the Slytherin responded, "Why? What bull did he say again?" Edward didn't exactly hate Kemp, but he didn't like him staying at Hogwarts either. Something told him he would only get them into a bigger mess than the Knights and their followers alone ever could. |

"You alright?" Blake asked, feeling a little concerned. He set the armor down gently, making as little noise as possible. But at least Edward's sarcasm wasn't damaged. Blake rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I know. That could have been bad." He chuckled, but his heart wasn't in it. What would Azkaban be like? He didn't know much about it, though all the rumors he'd heard had been negative. Oh well. He'd find out soon. Ahh, he had been right: Edward hadn't heard the announcement. No reason to lie, since Ed would be involved as well. "Interrogations begin tomorrow,' he said, crossing his arms over his chest. "They're interviewing everyone. Kemp thinks he'll find the Squires. It's kind of pissing me off," he admitted. Blake felt as though he was being a bit dramatic, but he had every right. It seemed like the last day he'd be in the school, and it was impossible for him to mess up any more. (Srry, kinda short) |

"I'm fine," Edward grumbled, finished with brushing his robes, rolling his head with a few snaps. He noticed Blake seemed to miss his usual mirth. Then again, he hadn't talked to him in a long time and people could change quite a lot at their age. Whatever Blake's problems were, it wasn't his business. Forehead wrinkling in a mixture of concentration and growing disgust, Edward listened to Blake's summary of Kemp's speech. "Interrogations?" he voiced his thoughts. What if they knew about his father being a Knight? And his attacking Gweneve last year? It wasn't like he was connected to the Knights or Squires, but there was no underestimating the Head of MLE, that much Edward knew. Blake looked like the news didn't bode him well either. "What, you don't have something to hide, do you?" the Slytherin smirked. He couldn't remember the Gryffindor causing much trouble in past, only to the unwitting girls who fell prey to his charms - something that Edward never understood. (OOC: Sorry, my post aren't very long now - sharing a room with other noisy people all the time makes it hard to concentrate. -.-) |

Edward sounded like his usual grumpy self. "Well, if you say so," Blake said, taking a small step back. He didn't want to be too close to the boy, since Blake had just knocked him over. And almost caused a suit of armor to crash down on him. Ed could have been choosing to retaliate late to throw Blake off guard, which totally would have worked. "Yeah, interrogations," he confirmed. Blake narrowed his eyes. "It's probably not going to work. Kemp's in over his head. Every creature in Hogwarts? Please." He chuckled, brushing his fingertips against his robe nervously. "What would I have to hide? My latest girls? My bad grades? Sorry, but I doubt Kemp'll be interrested." He said it in his usual tone of voice, with his usual cockiness. He also tried to act innocent at the same time, but it was difficult. (Mine's super short as well. Sorry. >.<) Edited by Blake Yorson, Jul 11 2011, 12:21:03 PM.

Edward shook his head in disbelief. Kemp seemed to be a bigger fool than he'd originally thought. "I'd take him years to dig up all the dirt on everyone in the castle," the boy commented, wondering how many of his schoolmates would get expelled or imprisoned. Could he be one of them? Surely there was no evidence against him as he had done nothing wrong, except for a minor incident. Or maybe not so minor but with no lasting consequences - mostly. The Slytherin refused to delve on this subject any longer. "That's a fair point," Edward nodded in agreement, then frowned. "Did you hear that?" Shaking his head, he decided his newfound paranoia was getting out of hand. ********** Following a new Lockdown patrol through the Fourth Floor Corridors, Septimus halted by the Library door, hearing voices further down the corridor. Although the Aurors did most of the patrolling now, he still went out for a hunt whenever he felt like it. Catching misbehaving students was one of his favourite pastimes at Hogwarts. The other positive was that they would do various work for him on their detentions, from cleaning classrooms to anything unnecessary and unpleasant he could think of. Today, however, he wasn't out to give detentions. No, there was a different plan in his mind after Abraxas Kemp's earlier speech. Continuing stealthily towards the sounds, he waited again when he could make out the conversation, listening to the two boys for a while. Just as he had hoped, they talked about the beloved M.L.E. Hiding his smirk, Septimus rounded a corner to face the students. "If it isn't Mr. Yorson and Mr. Fairfax," he pronounced importantly as he walked closer, "what are you doing here, after the curfew?" Crossing his arms, he scrutinized them with his penetrating gaze, demanding an answer. (OOC: Nah, it's fine ^^) Edited by Professor Septimus Blackwood, Jul 12 2011, 03:08:38 PM.

"Yeah," he confirmed, letting his hand rest atop his wand. Somebody was headed their way. When he saw the man's face, he shoved the wand into his sleeve. "Good evening, Professor," he said, with as easy a tone as he could muster. "How are you today?" He slapped Edward's shoulder with a chuckle. "Ed and I were just about to leave. Lost track of time, I suppose," he lied. Professor Blackwood was scary. It seemed even more so, since he had just caught them out after curfew. Shame it had to be one of his least favorite teachers. He took a step back from Blackwood. Blake didn't exactly wish to be anywhere near the man, nor did he want to be the one that suggested they should leave, though Septimus had already done that. Who knew when he was going to be able to speak with Edward again? They had gone quite awhile without talking, and despite Edward's grouchiness, Blake liked him. Though he didn't know whether they were friends. Whether they could have been friends, given their houses and the amount of time they had gone without speaking to one another. "So, what do you say, Ed? Best we leave now?" he asked, though it was far more likely that Blake would just walk a ways down the hall before trying to continue their conversation. He had to wonder if the Professor had heard what they were talking about. Surely they hadn't been that loud. |

Edward barely stopped himself from jumping at the sudden appearance of their Arithmancy Professor - and it took a lot to startle this Slytherin. One thing he was grateful for was that Blackwood's subject was voluntary. He wasn't really scared of the man. He respected him but realized that getting on his bad side would mean serious trouble. And being caught by him after lockdown meant a sure detention. While he hadn't received one from Blackwood before, the students who did had never returned happy from a single one. Blake's excuse didn't seem overly convincing and Edward shot him a dirty look as if it was all his fault. Over the past few minutes he decided the Gryffindor was, even after such a long time, still relatively alright. He briefly wondered why they never really became friends. Different houses? Different friends? Probably a combination of both. But it wasn't the right time for such speculations. Although he couldn't believe they would get away with this, he joined Blake, nodding at what he said. "Right, good night Professor," he muttered and tried to move down the corridor. (OOC: Sorry for the delay, the moving kept me busy yesterday.) |

Making a sideways step, Blackwood blocked the students' escape. "Now, what made you think you can just leave?" he asked with a bit of annoyance seeping through, beginning to think a punishment might not be such a bad idea. No, he had to focus on his mission. Switching to a slightly nicer tone, he asked, "Did you know the Aurors received new orders following tonight's announcement?" Although seeming confident in his lying, it wasn't like he knew what Kemp ordered his ministry thugs. "They are to arrest all students they find, by any means necessary," he continued, adding a meaningful pause when he gave each of the boys a solemn look, "and they are anxious to employ their extensive training." Septimus was certain most Sixth Years knew about the difficulty of Auror training and the criminals they had to face. A student wouldn't pose any obstacle to them. And it wasn't a complete lie to state most of them were eager to finally experience some action, it was only a question of time when they would hurt the first bold student. If not fight them, Septimus at least wanted the kids to fear M.L.E. |

Blake stepped backward when Septimus blocked the way Edward had tried to go. "Well, it is after curfew," he replied angrily. "Doesn't that mean we should head to common rooms before we get into anymore trouble?" Not that he would care if he was yelled at - it wouldn't have been a first. When the man began talking, Blake chuckled aloud. "And why should we believe you?" Blackwood seemed to be trustworthy enough - for a teacher, but there was no reason for him to be telling the truth. Even if it was something the M.L.E. would do. He glanced at Edward, wondering what the other boy was thinking. Edited by Blake Yorson, Jul 17 2011, 04:25:38 PM.

Edward nudged Blake with his elbow. What was he thinking? Speaking like this to Blackwood meant a sure detention. Had that happened, he would make sure to hex the Gryffindor later. ********** Blackwood shot Blake a stern look. "I believe you already are in enough trouble, don't you think so Mr. Yorson?" he addressed him icily. And if he continued to speak to him in that tone, he'd make sure he'd get into bigger ones. Taking a step back, Septimus deliberately pulled open his leather coat and placed both hands into his trouser pockets. "I'm not asking you to believe me," he responded simply, "you may do what you like with this information." Sighing almost inaudibly, he added, "Unless you are really so eager to spend your free time in detention for a week, I'd advise you to depart to your respective common rooms. And I will know if you fail to do so." He glanced from Edward to Blake again, giving him a look that meant he wouldn't be feeling so generous again. Blackwood then nodded his head, signalling their allowance to leave. (OOC: Same here. Didn't want to post more with Ed before Blake's reaction. I say they can walk towards the stairs and part ways?) |

Blake stiffled his complaint when Edward nudged him. "Sorry, Professor," he mumbled, annoyed. "Yes, Professor. It won't happen again. Honest." A lie. Blackwood was confusing. Was he telling the truth? Who knew. It was almost as if the teacher wanted them to pass the information around, but it just didn't seem like something an adult would do. Even though Blake wasn't the type that enjoyed gossip, he'd probably end up sharing it with someone. Maybe just to see what they thought about the topic - with Edward to back him up, nobody would think he was lying. "Well," he said, turning to Ed. "See you around?" He didn't wait for a response. Eager to get away from Septimus, he hurried down the corridor towards the Gryffindor Common Room. There would be time to speak with Edward later on, when a Professor wasn't standing behind them. As long as he wasn't in Askaban, or some other place equally horrible. (Had him leave. Hope it's alright with you xD) Edited by Blake Yorson, Jul 17 2011, 04:45:42 PM.

Edward knew when to stay quiet to save his own skin, being a Slytherin and all. Blake, however, didn't seem to posses the same ability. That didn't mean Edward was a sheep believing everything it was told. Yet, mulling over Blackwood's suggestion, he had to admit it was a valid one. The Aurors were getting more nosy and dangerous every day. He almost shuddered to think how the interrogation may change the school and lives of its students. Glad that Blake managed to control himself in the end, Edward nodded curtly to his inquiry before the boy left. Yes, he was quite certainly not going to mind seeing the Gryffindor again. Not wanting to stay with Blackwood for longer than necessary, he glanced back at his towering figure, "Yes, it won't. Good night, sir." Without looking back, Edward sneaked out of the corridor and down to the Dungeon. (OOC: Late and crappy; oh well..) |

Blackwood noted to keep a closer eye on the Yorson boy in future, but doubted he was capable of causing too much trouble. Fairfax, on the other hand, stayed quiet most of the time. No doubt not wanting to aggravate his Professor. Despite not being one of the Squires, Septimus mused the Slytherin could have the essential attributes - just like his father - had he only tried. Blackwood watched the two students leave with a minute smirk on his face. Once no longer able to see them, he turned on his heal, joining his hands behind his back as he continued his patrol. The night was still young and there were undoubtedly more students out in the corridors. |
