| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. General Information Full name: Boyd Benison Montoni Nickname(s): With a name so short, there is little allowance for some kind of variation of Boyd. Boyd's grandparents, however, choose to call their grandson Benison because they never could understand why their son would give such a short name to his own son, a name which also sounds so much like simply saying "boy" to them. Additionally, Boyd is often teased by his older cousins for looking very much like a girl, which elicits a lot of name-calling that question his gender especially when his given name sounds like "boy", a seeming mocking reminder to everyone that he is indeed really a boy. Of course, he abhors them. Pronunciation: It should probably sound like boiled. Gender: Male Birthdate: July 15 Age: 16 Year: Sixth Year. Blood: Halfblood. Dharma Montoni is the youngest son of a scheming trading tycoon. When he broke the news of his relationship with Marissa Knight, a mere muggle model, his father dismissed it as another one of his short-term love flings. However, when intentions of a marriage union was brought up, old Montoni threatened to disown his son. Forced to be independently provided for if the marriage should continue, Dharma and Marissa left Scotland for Canada, where Maddox was born at. It was only three years after that Dharma had a sudden change of preferences, that he compelled Marissa to leave, taking his only son back to Scotland with him. Wand: 12 1/4" Rowan, Unicorn Tail, Brittle House: Slytherin Appearance Height: 5'7" Eyes: Boyd's eyes are a medium-sized brown, framed by long lashes. Too many people have told Boyd that his face is simply a replica of his mother, to which Boyd always rejects vehemently, although he loves her dearly. As much as his eyes could be his best facial quality, Boyd abhors them because they make him look like a girl. This was pointed out by his older cousins years ago, and the insult has eaten into him, and grown, ever since. Hair: To avoid being teased constantly about his looks, Boyd has insisted on keeping his dirty-blonde hair short, making sure they don't cover his ears. He usually styles them in a neat fashion for school or when he has to look smarter than usual. Otherwise, he enjoys leaving his hair untouched by chemicals. Also, he is disallowed to wear caps by his grandfather, who insists that wearing caps are disrespectful and only done by people from lower classes. This if, of course, much to Boyd's displeasure. Physical Description As much as Boyd desires for a sun-kissed skin, he is pretty much resigned to the fact that it is close to impossible for him to expect that of his skin. Pale and skinny, Boyd tries his very best to cover his slim frame up with sweaters and jackets. He enjoys the slick feeling that wearing a suit and a blazer can given, but those are only for special occasions. Usually, he dons the same old leather jacket he had been wearing since 3 years ago, or settle for a sweater or a hoodie. He usually refuses to be clad in singlets or to go half-nude (unless in his bedroom) due to insecurities about his body. During the summer holidays, Boyd swims regularly at his grandfather's manor, keeping in mind to avoid his cousins for fear of (yet again) teasings. Although he enjoys swimming to keep fit, Boyd dislikes running, so this makes the only exercise that he does during school terms mere sit-ups and push-ups. He is therefore not athletic. Despite his enormous appetite, Boyd cannot seem to bulk up. This makes him very unhappy. Personality Boyd likes to fancy himself as a brooding character, but he is not. He enjoys meeting people because he likes the fact that he knows people from everywhere. Also, given the fact that he is an only child and not a fancy among his cousins, he seeks company from friends instead. However, like his father, he only really talks to people who he esteems to be popular, attractive, or have an appeal in some way or another. To these people, he is very friendly. If he esteems a person to be out of his radar, he usually ignores him/her as he believes them to be a waste of his time. Despite his friendliness to people he chooses, Boyd is never genuine. Having known no reliable or genuine companionship as a child, he grew up thinking that life and people are games to be played, and to play them well is to be successful. There is always something that he wants to take from his relationships or friendships with people. Boyd enjoys being loved or liked, but does not open himself up to do the same to others. Despite all of that, Boyd is still standing with a confused identity. He cannot seem to anchor his role or character, and this can make people distrust him for the simple fact that they do not really know him. As much as it might seem cool to say that one is elusive so that others cannot truly understand oneself, it is an overstatement in Boyd's case. This is because the boy does not even know himself well to begin with, let alone be sure of himself sufficiently to play mind games with others. Still, he manages to act and convince people of his role most of the time. It would probably take time and proper circumstance to provide a clear comparison between his fickle selfs. Boyd can be charming when he wants to be because he was brought up having to fight for attention by trying to look and speak the best. His world is therefore a world of material competition and appearances. Boyd is generally unreliable, troubled, fickle, and superficial. It is only during the rare times when he gets to visit his mother that he genuinely lets his guard down and stops playing roles. With guy friends, he enjoys partaking in superficial brotherhoods just to feel like a part of an elite male species. With girls, he definitely tries to play the part of the charmer like most of the boys at his age. Only the girls interacting with him would be able to say if he is good at it or not. History Boyd takes after only certain aspects of his father's personality (he is the milder version of his father), so it is easy to say that to know one is to know the other, except that the older Montoni is a lot more self-assured than the younger one. A cocky womaniser, Dharma Montoni can usually be found at fashion shows, even until today. He showed none of the passion for the family legacy that his father had hoped for, and became labelled a 'lost case' by old Montoni, who concentrated on his two older boys instead. Pretty much left to his own devices, Dharma lives with a trail of flings with models until he felt something more for one - Marissa Knight. The thrill of the forbidden seduced him into marriage, which the woman also coerced him into for his wealth. After a year of marriage, the affairs started before Dharma had a sudden change in preference. After Marissa and Dharma separated, Boyd started observing men coming to visit his father, which confused him a lot as a child. A month after the couple separated, Dharma brought his son from Canada back to his father's manor in Scotland. After which, Dharma immersed himself in his own life, and Boyd helplessly watched him fade away, only resorting to visit his son when he visit his father. Left with a nanny and older cousins who took joy in bullying their youngest cousin, Boyd became a very bitter individual, always scheming to get a better end of things since they don't seem to come to him naturally. Old Montoni was fully confident that Boyd would receive his Hogwarts letter since the family is almost pureblood (with the exception of Marissa Knight). There were certainly worries and teasings surrounding the wait for the letter since the family never had to deal with a halfblood before, and having one without magical qualities would bring great dishonour. Although he was relieved to receive his letter, Boyd was treated indifferently thereafter, as if his acceptance was nothing to the family. Others Family: Dharma Montoni, 51, investor [father], Marissa Knight, 45, former supermodel, [mother] Pet(s): A common snowy owl named Knight, who is pretty reliable with the exchange of owls. Possessions: A nimbus 2001 broom which is rarely put to use. Grandfather thought that it was a necessity, but Boyd only enjoys watching Quidditch rather than play it. Boyd used to wear a locket containing a picture of his beautiful mother, but took it down to keep when his cousins teased him about it. Boyd is also often seen with either a camera or a sketchbook.
