Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Scarlett paced back and forth in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. She didn't know how long she had been in there or why she chose to come to this place. She just needed to get away. It was hard to act calm when Scarlett was clearly experiencing something she couldn't explain. Maybe it was a phase? Had she eaten bad food?

"Well someone is sure distracted, oh yes. A secret perhaps? Oh yes, all sorts of secrets in the bathroom today," shrieked Myrtle.

Oh shut it, she thought, ignoring the whiny ghost. She was right though, her secret was certainly distracting.

Scarlett finally stopped pacing, standing in front of a mirror. She looked at herself while she placed her hands on the sink. You look horribly exhausted, she thought. She frowned, standing up straight again. She suddenly heard running water. Looking around, she found the source a few sinks over then walked over to turn it off. But as soon as she touched it, there was flash...

A student, with long blonde hair. Scarlett recognized her as Melanie Pickett, a girl in her house. She was sad and then scared. She screamed, turned and then....she was dead. Myrtle was screaming 'Murder, murder.' Three students rushed out of a stall, one boy, two girls. They stood over Melanie's lifeless body conversing before rushing out of the bathroom.

The memory ended and Scarlett fell to the floor, tears in her eyes and was finding it difficult to breathe. She grabbed her hair and shook her head in frustration. She didn't recognize the students she wondered why they just left her. Those students...did they murder Melanie?

Francesca. You are such a bitch.

The Gryffindor girl couldn't help but push that same thought through her mind, over and over again. There she was, plotting a prank against a girl she had had a fight with in the past. Then, the next thing she knew, Melanie was dead on the floor. Water around her. Blood soaked hair. Shocked eyes.

Those eyes, open upon Melanie's death, seemed to pierce Francesca's pale blue ones as the Gryffindor stood over the body. At that very moment, Francesca's mind was riddled with questions.

We have to do something, right? We can't just leave her. Who do we tell? No one. What do we say? Nothing.

Deciding to return to the scene, Francesca pushed open the wooden door to Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom, took a quick glance around, then stepped in. In a bag in her left hand, the clothes she wore that night were wrapped up together. The skirt had blood on it, the shirt was ripped, and her necklace had shattered, having being caught on the bathroom stall door. The pieces of the necklace were mostly caught up in the clothes, but some still remained in the water coated floor.

She snuck around to the stall in which the three had hidden. Trying to make as little noise as possible, she tried to keep her feet quiet as she closed the door behind her. Carefully lifting the back of the toilet off, she stuffed the clothes inside. She fit them in as best she could, replacing the china lid.

Well, now I just have to hope no one finds them. She thought to herself, reaching up to unlock the door and sneak back out again.

But wait a second. What was that sound. A splash, a fall, maybe? Francesca heard running water again. Louder than before. A tap was on, and the water must have now been flowing onto the floor, around something. Or someone. Cautiously, Francesca clicked the door unlocked. "Hello?" She called out, her voice shaking. Had she been caught?

Fran took a few steps forward, into the light, so that she could see who she was accompanied by. Trying her best to scare the person off, so that she could be alone, Francesca pulled her wand from her boot. "Get up! Who are you?" She hissed, holding back tears. Never before had she been caught off guard like this, and this wouldn't be the last. But for now, she'd focus on dealing with the matter at hand: Not getting in trouble. Or worse, killed.

Scarlett was so caught up in her thoughts she didn't even realize another student had come in. Hidden by a column, the student didn't see her either.

Scarlett was still trying to make sense of it all. The more images that kept flashing into her head, the more it pointed in one solution: Murder. But why? Melanie was a nice girl, she wouldn't hurt anyone, especially after the tragedy with her sister. But her thoughts were soon interrupted.

"Hello?"

Scarlett looked around immediately until she saw a girl coming her way. The girl commanded Scarlett to stand up and so she did. Scarlett had no idea who she was as the girl made her way into the light, but something about her seemed familiar. Then it clicked.

The images she saw...all of a sudden, she recognized her as one of the students who had stood over Melanie. The room seemed to be spinning as Scarlett backed away, gasping. Again she found it difficult to breathe, nearly collapsing but held on to a sink for balance. She kept shifting her eyes from the girl to the place where Melanie had fallen

"You," she whispered, "you you...k-killed her..."

Francesca watched as the girl stood. Quietly, she inched forward, putting her wand away again. Inching towards the girl, she was confused. How could she possibly know. All evidence was gone. No one had been into the Hospital Wing. It was almost...untraceable. But somehow, this girl knew.

"You, you you...k-killed her..."

The girl had spoke quietly, but loud enough for the Gryffindor to make out. Putting both hands out in front of her, she still eased towards the girl, cautiously, until, when she was within five feet of the girl, she stopped, and spoke.

"No, no. You don't...You d-don't understand."

She muttered. It sounded so stupid. Obviously, the girl had been in the bathroom that night, and saw Francesca over the body. Of course, from anyone else, it was easy to judge. Three people knew the truth of the happenings that night, in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. One of them stood in this very room, unable to speak.

"I-I-I didn't kill her." She managed to say, grabbing the girls arm. "It...it was an a-accident." Francesca spoke once more, tears now falling from her face.

She followed the girl's blank stare down to the place where Melanie's body laid the night before. Francesca broke down as she continued to look. It was all coming back.

Blake, the stupid Gryffindor she had a crush on, and Sommer, the Hufflepuff with the wrong people at the wrong time, accompanied her that night. It took not even a minute for Blake to scare Melanie. And even less for her to fall. A crack, a whimper, a faint heartbeat. All of it crashed down to nothingness within five minutes.

"We..." Francesca whispered, "...we didn't kill her."

We? So it was a group effort.

Disbelief still swept over Scarlett as the girl tried to explain the situation. Her attempt to make things right failed but Scarlett was sure no explanation would excuse the girl's actions. It definitely wouldn't bring Melanie back, the poor girl. The girl cried but Scarlett didn't feel any sympathy. In fact, now she was becoming angry. This heartless girl took the life of another student, an unforgivable act.

Scarlett pushed the girl off her and positioned her body between the girl and the door. She would run for it if she had to. Find a professor. That meant actually turning the girl in. What was she going to say?

She grabbed her wand tightly but didn't reveal it. This girl had killed Melanie so what would stop her from doing the same to Scarlett. Now, she was prepared to fight if she had to. Though something inside told her to give the girl a chance. Maybe it truly it was an accident.

"How," she growled. It was the only thing she could manage to saw. This girl had one chance to prove herself or Scarlett would run.

Francesca, at first, slipped in the water as the Ravenclaw pushed her back. Clinging onto a wall, though, she stopped herself from falling into the water around her feet. Sliding back up the wall, Fran got back on her feet, sliding towards the girl again, who was now clutching her wand, standing by the door. "Please," Francesca gasped, "Don't run."

During this time, all Francesca could think about was Melanie, the way she looked on the ground. Her face, cold, motionless. Her body, still, seemingly frozen. Francesca shuddered as she thought of the scene again, before looking up to Scarlett. "It w-was a harmless joke." The girl choked, clenching her fists. It sounded so stupid now, after everything that had transpired. The way it all panned out looked like it was intentional, and it may have well been, to an outsiders eye. Only three people knew the truth. And it was about to become four.

"Now, listen. Don't say anything until after I've spoke, you hear? This is a lot for me to say." She said, biting her lip.

She turned to lean against a sink, resting her arms on the ledge.

"Okay, so. The three of us...we were bored. Looking for something to do. One of the other two decided that we were going to play a prank on someone random...the first person we came across. In this case, it just happened to be Melanie.

Francesca put her head down after the mention of the girl's name, a small sob escaping. Quickly, though, Francesca continued.

Bla- I mean, The boy, jumped out from the stall, and scared her. She slipped, fell, hit her head, and, well, I'm pretty sure you can figure out the rest." She said, before breaking down into tears. This was it. The other girl surely wouldn't believe it. She would be caught, expelled, and much, much worse.

"Please," Francesca begged. "Please, don't run."

Scarlett softened as the girl talked, she even had a few tears in her eyes. She really seemed distressed and upset about all of it. Scarlett wanted to believe it was intentional but she was starting to see the situation differently. A prank? Melanie's last moments happened all because of some stupid prank. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Juvenile pranks always seem funny at the time and now they were proven dangerous with the wrong and careless people.

"Run? I can't run now," she muttered. Besides where would she run to? Now that she thought about it, no one would believe Scarlett when she had no proof only her word.

Scar now pulled out her wand but kept it low. She knew the girl was probably telling the truth but then again she could be a very good actress. Spending most of her time alone, Scarlett was horrible when it came to reading people.

This event only proved to Scarlett she had some sort of...ability. It was the only explanation. None just touches something and sees information tied to it. But now what she going to do? She couldn't tell anyone what this girl and her friends did. Scar wouldn't be able to live with herself if she kept it a secret either.

"I just don't know what else to do," she whispered. This is why you should never leave the library. You should have just stayed where you belong.

Francesca sighed, as it seemed Scarlett had understood. Looking around, Francesca closed her eyes, letting tears fall down her cheeks.

"What is there to do?" She asked glumly, "We can't tell anyone." Fran said.

Rolling her eyes, she looked down to the floor. "What I don't get, though, is why. If I were you, I would have been so far down that hallway by now, screaming my arse off. What's stopping you?"

/terrible post. Couldn't think.

I don't know...

She really should have run, she knew that. She still could but she still stayed. Even if she broke down later and decided to tell she wouldn't know what to say. How was she supposed to explain how she knew what she knew? Granted magic was magic and anything was possible but Scar was still doubtful.

"I guess that's the difference between you and me," she coldly replied, "Then again, I never would have killed someone in the first place."

She stared at the girl, realizing they didn't know each other's names. Then again exchanging names at a time like this...By the way, I'm Scarlett. Nice to meet you. She almost laughed at the thought.

"Also, there is no we. There is you and then there is me. You are the person who killed an innocent person and I am someone who happens to know," she stated, then avoiding eye contact. She realized she never said how exactly she found and could only hope the girl wouldn't ask. "I guess we go our seperate ways but don't think you're off the hook. I'm-I'm going to think of something..." Something to what? Punish her? Scarlett knew that wouldn't happen. She had no idea where to go from here.

Francesca sighed an shook her head as the girl spoke. "I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I. Did. Not. Kill. Her. It was an accident. I thought Ravenclaws were supposed to be smart?" Francesca said coldly, folding her arms across her chest.

"Look, I realize you're into this 'me me me' mindset. But in all honesty, there is a we now. You, the other two and I are now in the same group. We are the only people that know. So technically, we're all in this together now." She smiled, knowing the girl wouldn't be too happy with that.

"You're going to....what, exactly? Turn me in? You can't. Not now." Francesca sighed, biting her lip. Truth be told, she was scared that Scarlett knew. She had no clue of what this girl was capable of. For all Francesca knew, she could very well be lying about not telling anyone. What could Francesca possibly do to secure Scarlett's words?

Scarlett's attempt to 'scare' this girl was pointless. She was right, Scarlett was now involved whether she wanted to be or not and she couldn't turn the girl in either. She let out a sigh in frustration.

She was reminded once again that is was a group effort. "What about the others, who are they," she asked, "How do you know they won't say anything?"

"And the evidence, is it all gone," she said slowly. She could hardly believe she said that. She actually was doing this. She was going to help this girl. Though she was merely doing her part by not saying anything she still wanted to make sure there was no chance this girl and her friends got caught. Her parents would be so disappointed if they knew what Scar was doing. Could she really keep this a secret?

Francesca looked down to the floor as Scarlett mentioned the others. "Well, Blake Yorson and Sommer Rhys." She admitted. She didn't want to give the others up to the girl, but, seeing as they were 'all in this together', she couldn't not reveal them.

"They won't tell. We made a pact. No one tells a teacher. No one tells a soul. No matter what, silence. I just broke part of that, but I'll tell them that." She said, shaking her head. "It is all gone. As terrible as it sounds, I'm glad. As much as I want to admit it to someone, just state my case. I can kind of figure what would happen. A round trip to Azkaban." Francesca sighed. Eventually, though, someone would crack. Maybe not this year, maybe not next. But someone would. Some day. Francesca just hoped it wouldn't be Scarlett.

Scarlett nodded as Francesca rattle of the names of the others involved. She didn't recognize them by name but maybe if she saw them she would. She wondered how she react once she met them in person. Would she say she knows or keep quite? Would they know she knows and keep quiet? She would hope so as now they had an unspoken pact between them. Oh Scar...what have you gotten yourself into. That thought kept repeating her head and probably would all day.

"Hmm," was all she managed to say. She was distracted, her gaze going back to the sink that first revealed this horrible secret to her. Slowly, she walked over reaching her hand out again. Hesitating at first, she finally placed her hand down again.

It was Melanie, again, this time she was alive and alone in the stall. She let out a scream herself and jumped up immediately. She twirled around quickly to see who had done that. As she turned, her feet slipped on the water, and she fell backwards onto the porcelain sink. The back of her head made contact with it, hard, and she lay unconscious and bleeding on the bathroom floor. Shortly after, Fran stepped into the sequence. "Oh my effing god!" Fran screamed, splashing through the water with her feet. She slid over to Melanie, looking down at her. "Blake! Sommer!" She wailed. 'Cesca shook Melanie's head slightly, to no effect. "Melanie, please. Please. Wake up!" She heaved. "Murder! Murder! Murder in the bathroom!" Myrtle screeched. A boy appeared, who Scarlett guessed to Blake. He seemed shock. "We can't tell anybody," he decided. Another girl appeared which was obviously Sommer. She sobbed and and didn't quite believe Melanie was dead. She fell to the floor coming to terms with their actions. Fran finally spoke "...lets just say she killed herself."

The flashback stopped and Scarlett felt like the wind had been knocked out of her. This was all to much for her to handle in evening. She backed, tears in her eyes. "...I have..to..g-go," she finally breathed. She ran out the door without looking back.
