| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Ray slid easily into the unused classroom. He actually wasn't sure if the classroom was used or not, he had just never been in it a time where it had been used. He took a moment to ponder why the room had gone so long without having a class held in it. Perhaps the student and teacher ratio was going down and they no longer needed as many class rooms? Though that seemed unlikely. There were more students since it had been deemed acceptable to mate with non magical people, that's what he always thought, anyways. Ray, had had fun with Joey, but hadn't wanted to spend the whole afternoon with the guy. He needed some serious personal reflection. Alone time really, he enjoyed it almost as much as he enjoyed being around people. Luckily, he had recently been able to get his guitar repaired. It was almost as perfect as it had ben previously. Though now it reminded him of some stuff he'd rather not think about. He perched himself by a window, guitar in hand trying to think of something to strum; a thing he didn't normally have issues with. Though instead, he found him staring wistfully out the window, watching the clouds pass by. It had been chilly, or he probably would have remained there. He didn't want to catch a cold, or anything. That would ruin his wonderful singing voice, yea? Not that he liked singing. Really. Too embarrassing. If he sung people made fun of his lyrics. He sighed, focusing his attention on the piece of wood resting easily in his grip. He forced his fingers to move across the frets, not really caring if he was strumming chords or nonsense... after a few minutes of horrible sounding twangs and off key chords he got a little more into the groove of playing; this was something he was good at, if nothing else. Couldn't keep a relationship, grade or friend but he could play. Which was certainly better then nothing. Though the tune didn't take on his normal upbeat style, it followed a more lovesick romantic song style. He didn't do it intentionally, it just sort of flowed with his mood. His gaze, once he had found his abstract groove, returned to the clouds. |

Winnie sauntered through the halls, not having any particular place to go or any particular thing to be doing. She let out a long yawn, her steps slowing more so in those moments. In that time she heard a noise, slight, but somewhat distinct behind the closed door next to her. Winnie paused by the door, analyzing the tune, the sounds. It was unmistakably a guitar being strummed. Her mind immediately jumped to an image of Ray's face. Sure there were other students at Hogwarts who could pick up a guitar and play a few notes, but none stuck out in her mind like Ray did. She could imagine him within the room, an image that almost pained her with longing. She swallowed hard, her hand lingering on doorknob for a few moments before she slowly turned it and entered the unused classroom. Though she'd considered a pretty vivid image of what she'd imagined behind the door, she felt almost shocked to be facing Ray like that after so long. She remained in the doorway for a few moments, eyes glued to him, though no greeting or intelligent thing to say could escape her mouth. Winnie's stunned expression slowly softened. She was pleased to see him, no matter the tension that she felt was filling the room. Winnie forced herself to take a few steps forward, lowering her gaze as she did so. "Ray," she finally got out. "Hello." Her voice was quiet, more timid than usual. Memories of their last encounter rushed into her mind, and Winnie worked to push them back. "I've been thinking that I really wasn't fair to you about," Winnie paused, "what happened." She glanced at the guitar, not immediately realizing why it was significant that it was even in one piece. She took a few steps nearer to him, reaching out and trailing her fingers across the wooden surface. "You got it fixed," she stated with a small grin beginning to form. Her brother had been the one to break it and yet she'd felt bad about it ever since. |

Ray, who had been so used to the quiet of the classroom noticed immediately when the door was being opened. He turned his gaze softly on the person entering, wondering who would be disturbing a buy strumming his guitar in an empty classroom- he froze a little as he noticed Winnie- all of his froze. It seemed like forever since they were alone together, or even near each other and he couldn't quite find the right amount of composure he might need to deal with whatever would happen next. She had been on his mind constantly. How could he ignore that fact? He tried a smile, as winning and kind as he could make it. Though it probably turned out more wistful then he would have wanted. "Winnie... how are you?" He hadn't meant to pause so long after her name but he hadn't been sure of what to say next. She seemed just as nervous as he was. Though he wondered if her nervousness was of the same extent his was; his stomach happened to be twisting into very delicate, yet still manly, knots. Perhaps she merely wanted to keep the peace and repair whatever sort of awkward friendship they had had previously... Perhaps then Will would be able to talk to him again. He slowly turned away from the window, to face her full on. It had been a little awkward staring to the side for so long and he dipped his head a little, so as not to make things more awkward then they needed to be. Though he couldn't quite get himself to relax. Ray tried a smile, she didn't need to apologize... Wasn't her fault he was only human. "Don't worry about it, the last thing I wanted to do was..." How to finish that sentence tactfully? Certainly it wouldn't be right to pursue anything with Winnie, it would probably just creep her out if he did, so Ray bit back the 'hurt you' and replaced it with, "...make a mess of everything." Wistfully spoken; not a great replacement. "Let's just forget about it." He glanced up at her, "Start over...? We can go back to being moderately awkward." Tiniest hint of a grin. Though he was mostly just babbling, he felt slightly better with that out of his system, he would have felt even better if plan A had worked, but plan A had sort of flown out the window during their last encounter. Though she was swiftly closing the distance between them, his breath caught slightly and he found himself having to work at appearing normal. Something told him they would never again be just moderately awkward. At least for him. He was so caught up in marveling at their closeness, though it really wasn't that close, that it took him a few moments to decipher what she was saying. Ray let out a slightly awkward laugh, "Took long enough. I've been dying to play. Forgot how much I enjoyed it." Now he was actually grinning, glad for the guitar in his hands, though still too aware of Winnie's presense to really loosen up. He glanced up at the girl standing in front of him meaningfully but he couldn't quite think of the right words to say. Don't blame yourself...? But that could be misinterpreted, right? So he merely lowered his gaze back to the guitar. |

"I've been better, though I've realized that there's a few things that need sorting out," Winnie said. Of course she was referring to her and Ray's relationship, but also things with Marion and Francis. The latter might be more difficult than the others, she presumed. Francis hadn't been willing to consider an apology before and she wasn't sure anything had changed. Maybe the sting had worn off by that time, but the last thing she wanted to do was make things worse. Ray seemed to be feeling just as awkward and unsure as she appeared to be. Despite everything, she felt her heart flutter a bit still as she watched him. The butterflies hadn't all died out yet. Winnie inhaled deeply, her eyes focused on Ray for a few moments. She could still recall the very feeling she'd gotten when they'd kissed, though she tried not to think on that. Things were different now, she reminded herself. Any chance she'd had at making something out of those moments was gone now. It had meant nothing. Ray wasn't the one who'd made a mess out of everything. Winnie had been the one who'd had the bright idea to make him jealous, to toy with him and see if she could get a response. It seemed like a sick game to her now. If she hadn't done that completely uncharacteristic deed than none of this would have ever happened. She wasn't sure she'd trade those perfect moments with Ray for anything, she just wished they'd happened under different circumstances. The thing was, Winnie wasn't sure if she wanted to just forget about it all, but she knew that was what had to be done. "We could even try to work for minimal awkwardness, though I think that's setting our goals pretty high," Winnie said, a smile forming on her face. Like nothing ever happened. Winnie glanced up and immediately drew back a step, realizing that closeness was probably not healthy at all if they wanted to start over and eliminate memories of what had happened in the past. "It's hard to imagine things any other way," Winnie stated quietly, referring to Ray and his guitar. She hoped he always kept his love for playing it. There was some comfort in knowing that that aspect of Ray Jenning would never change to her, whilst other things would. Change was hard to deal with, and continuity was hard to find. Winnie wished she held such a passion for one thing in life. She was tempted to inquire as to whether he'd spoken to Will or even Francis recently, but she held her tongue. This wasn't about mending things with them. This conversation was only about her and Ray. If they could never be together easily, she at least wanted to maintain their awkward friendship. Despite the adjective that so often described it, she appreciated it and had missed their interactions. "How have you been, Ray?" Winnie asked, realizing she'd failed to do so before and wanting to say something to break the silence. Edited by Winnie Anderson, Jun 2 2011, 01:27:23 AM.

He nodded at that comment. Things were a total mess. "I was just going to let things blow over for awhile, you know? It's not easy talking to someone when they're deadset not to." Though he couldn't help a small sigh. "Just thought it would blow over quicker." Though he didn't really have to worry about Francis, his bisexual friend had a date with the Ravenclaw guy... which was actually kind of hilarious and disturbing all in one. He hadn't been sure what to think on the matter, but it was Francis's choice, right? Ray had been trying to avoid looking at Winnie, of course when he finally couldn't keep his gaze away from her anymore she was looking at him. He smiled at her; couldn't stop himself. Quickly, perhaps to cover it up; "Though I think Francis might actually listen if you were to talk to him. He's, uh, moved on." He wasn't sure if he should bring Will up. "That is quite ambitious of us." Ray stated, returning her smile with one of his own. Though, if it weren't for all the tension between the two of them perhaps this conversation wouldn't be so... awkward. Of course, last time they openly discussed their relationship it had ended in a bit of a gong show, yea? He sighed again, wishing he could have handled their argument more tactfully. Maybe things would be different right now. If he and Winnie were together perhaps it would be easier for Will, Francis, everyone... to believe he hadn't just been using her and ruining peoples lives. If it didn't, at least they would have been together, right? Realizing he had been staring, perhaps a little disconcertingly at her, his gaze turned downwards and he fiddled with the tuners on his guitar. He felt oddly empty as she moved away, as though he had been tested and hadn't been up to par. Though he tried not to read too much into it. He was glad his guitar was back too, more then anything. It gave him something to do when he was missing the other people he used to hang out with. Joey was great, but he was pretty one dimensional at times. Huh, how was he? Melancholic, depressing, lonely... he hadn't really been himself lately. Ray looked up at her with a grin; "I missed you, honey bunch." He admitted what he had been wanting to say most, but threw it off with a bit of a joke on the end. He even laughed a little; so she wouldn't read too much into it. "Seriously though, I'm just kind of... living, keeping on, letting the world spin about me...type deal." He knew he wasn't the center of the Earth, but if he remained stationary and the word continued rotating...yea. Though he was curious about Will and he figured Winnie would probably be expecting a question abot her brother dear; "How's Will...?" |

Allowing for things to simply blow over seemed rational enough, though not much noticeable progress had developed in the mending process. Things could only get better from this point, Winnie assured herself. She wasn't sure Francis would ever really forgive her for what she'd done. Winnie had spent many sleepless nights regretting whatever pain she'd inflicted upon Francis without meaning to, and worrying over what Will had done to Ray. She was sure that in some way all of this was her fault. Guilt was a hard feeling to shake. "Moved on?" Winnie said aloud before she could stop the questioning remark from exiting her mouth. She shouldn't care who Francis was interested in now. "That's nice to know, I'm glad someone else has... caught his attention. I hope they treat him better than I did," Winnie stated regretfully. She'd reasoned with herself so many times that she'd done nothing wrong. She'd held no obligation to him at the time besides unspoken feelings. She had liked him at one point, but being with Ray had completely eclipsed those feelings. So, as she had concluded so many times, she hadn't really been disloyal to him. Still, she could never completely convince herself that that was indeed the case. "It is rather ambitious, isn't it?" Winnie said, knowing that despite her teasing tone the thought did seem rather ambitious for the pair. At least they openly admitted how awkward they were to each other. If not, Winnie wasn't sure what else they'd have to tease or talk about. Winnie fixed her gaze on the floor, aware of his eyes resting on her and not sure what she'd find in them if she brought her eyes up to meet his. Everything was questionable now, even more so than before. She'd never been sure how to act around Ray, but now she was more unsure than before if that was possible. If Francis really had moved on and she could convince Will to be okay with it, Winnie couldn't help but think that not all hope was lost for them. For now though it was probably best for the two to stay strictly as friends. Winnie wasn't even sure if William would be alright with that now. Winnie put on a bright smile. Whether teasing or not, it was always nice to know one was missed. "I missed you too, sweetie pie," Winnie said. Things had been different without him and many of the friends she had been avoiding. The next person she had to speak with was Marion. That ordeal had occured months ago and they'd hardly exchanged a word or two since then. Surely Mary would be ready to forgive her by this point. "Now that's not they Ray I know," Winnie finished with and love in her mind. Of course she loved Ray as a friend. An awkward friend who she enjoyed speaking despite everything. More rationalizing in her mind as to why she would even think such a thing. "I can't believe you missed me that much that your whole world just completely stopped," Winnie teased, a grin confirming the joke. "Do tell me what's wrong, dear. Just everything with Francis and Will? Or did something else happen?" Winnie inquired in a more serious tone. She froze up momentarily at the mention of Will, though she'd been expecting for him to be brought up sooner or later. "He's been doing pretty well I'd say. I mean, same old Will." Winnie wasn't really sure what to say about him. "He hasn't really mentioned anything since," she paused, "since Christmas about us, or you. Will has a tendency to overreact, and then once he cools off he regrets it. If you're ready to forgive him, it's worth a shot at talking to him." Winnie knew Will better than anyone. The boy had a temper, to be sure. Once things blew over and he had a chance to clear his mind he wouldn't hold a grudge. "I hope you don't resent him too much for it, I think the whole thing caught him off guard... and you know how protective he is." Edited by Winnie Anderson, Jun 3 2011, 02:30:44 AM.

Huh. Girls really were hard to understand. Had he imagined the tone in her voice? Had she been hoping she could revive whatever she had with Francis? Perhaps what they had was nothing. He suddenly found himself feelnig rather uncomfortable and hungry. Like food was the best thing in the world that could possibly happen. But he figured that would be running away from his problems; though he felt like he was just creating a bigger one. Ray didn't want to be 'just friends', nope, it was painful to think about. This whole situation was painful to think about. "Do you regret what happened?" He couldn't help asking, finally, after studying his shoes for a lengthy time. "You know you did nothing wrong, you and Francis hadn't even gone on a date." A lame attempt at diverting her from his first comment, plus; Ray was convinced he had done nothing wrong... it was just unfortunate how everyone had reacted. He felt bad for hurting everyone, but it was they who had over reacted, yea? He sighed; "Ah, forget it, it's probably better if we just don't talk about it." This was said almost serenely; as complacently as he could manage. He tried for a smile, though his heart wasn't really behind it. He didn't want to be the one to break the sudden taboo they'd placed around themselves. Mostly, he didn't want to hurt everyone again, or be rejected... for that matter. He tried for a moment, to think of his feelings during the act that had caused so much discrepancy. Confident and sure, like nothing could tear them apart, almost. Come what may, type deal. At least they'd be together. Those sentiments seemed sort of ridiculous considering everything, perhaps he wouldn't be so naive in the future. Ray forced his mind to turn, instead to his conversation with Joey. Light banter about girls and he wondered if the best way to forget about Winnie and return tot heir awkward friendship would be to ask someone else out. His gaze darted to the window for a moment, wondering if he held any of the charm girls had found so attractive before. No, he really wasn't himself. "I'm sure we'll get into the swing of things eventually. I mean, it's not like we have to work at it." Ray agreed, now allowing himself to laugh. Yes, things were awkward. Like a post-breakup meeting, only they were never dating. Ray smiled as she returned his banter right back at him, he wasn't sure if his plan would work, but it might be a start. Especially if nothing could happen between him and his strictly friend relationship with Winnie. "That does sound depressing, huh?" He stated, simply, wondering how to lighten the mood. Talking about why he was so melancholic was probably not the best idea, time to man up. It would certainly reveal quite a lot more and he had already said too much previously, yea? "You are the highlight of my life." He reasoned after a few moments, deciding to brush most of her questions off with a teasing remark. Though it was almost painful how much truth it held. It made him realize how pathetic he'd been recently. Perhaps he could be more himself. Maybe his guitar would help, he wasn't quite Ray without the guitar. "Maybe i just missed playing." He decided after a few more moments had passed. "Resent? Naaw. Not my style. He needed to blow off steam." Ray murmured, with a half grin. "Better to get stuff like that out fo your system then let it fester." He continued, not really caring if he was babbling. In a way, he felt vaguely like he might have deserved that. There was a certain code of conduct between guys about doing anything with their sisters and he'd totally blown that to the curb. He couldn't help a small laugh. "I'd have no idea how to approach him, though. I guess I probably thought he'd come to me if he forgave me." He took a moment to stretch and hop off the ledge he had been sitting on. "But, I guess, he might feel the same way. If he forgives me, that is." Ray took a moment to study Winnie, wondering if there was more to the story then she let on, but instead of aking leaned up against the ledge he had previously been sitting on. His guitar hung loosely about him, the excess weight almost felt natural. Edited by Ray Jenning, Jun 3 2011, 09:18:51 PM.

Silence ensued after Winnie's reaction to the mentioning of Francis. She wanted to say something so Ray would be sure that whatever feelings she had had for Francis had diminished the moment her and Ray's lips had met, but she figured that would be implying that she wanted to be more than friends. Which she did, but things were too complicated and everyone else seemed to have a problem with it. Finally the event which had been hinted at multiple times but never had been brought up thus far was mentioned. Winnie brought her gaze up slowly from the floor to Ray's face. She bit her lip as she took the question into consideration. "I don't," she said slowly. "The only thing I regretted was what it brought on for you," Winnie added. First him and Francis' fallout and then Will attacking him. All Winnie's fault. She sighed, glancing away. "I know... but why do I feel so terrible about it?" Winnie could still recall the fresh tears on Francis' face after he'd found out, as he'd blown up on her. As the lights had flickered with his anger. It wouldn't have been so bad had she not seen him crying over it. "I can't just forget it, Ray. I can't just pretend if I avoid it long enough it will cease to have existed. I just... can't," Winnie said, her voice escalating with each word in frustation. She was sure she was confusing him with what she wanted. Winnie wasn't even sure she knew what she wanted from him. She knew she longed to be with him, but she didn't want to deal with everything else that was sure to go wrong if they decided to forget everyone else's opinions and have a go at it. "Very depressing indeed," Winnie said. Which was the complete opposite of her Ray of sunshine. Winnie let out a short sigh wondering if perhaps she'd contributed to his unhappiness. She knew she hadn't exactly been herself in the past few months either. Her mood's downfall had begun the moment Paton had died, however. "I know I am, dear. That's what most people tell me." Teasing was easy enough, it helped distract from the problems at hand. "Maybe that's it," Winnie agreed. "Though judging by the tune you were playing earlier, it's not helping all too much." The notes Ray had been playing earlier had sounded rather melancholy strung together. Hardly anything like what she'd heard him play in the past. Winnie nodded, taking Ray's words into account. She wasn't exactly sure how Will would feel about talking to Ray at this point. She'd avoided the subject whenever possible to prevent any issues. She knew he wouldn't be happy if he knew they were speaking alone now. "He's kind of one of those people that has trouble being the first to say sorry. I'm not saying it shouldn't be him, just warning you not to hold your breath." Winnie was always the first to say sorry, Will was usually the last, especially in this case. Her hand still entwined with Will, Jess pulled him into the unused classroom with her back to the room. If she had seen Winnie and Ray in that room she would surely run a mile, mainly because of the Hufflepuff. Without realising others were within the room, Jess pulled Will a little closer leaning up and pecking him on the lips. Electric zapped through her veins as her lips connected with his, but alas she had to pull away. A grin still on her lips and not looking away from Will, she pushed the door shut looking up to her new boyfriend. “Sooo boyfriend and girlfriend time for us?” She asked, winking once before turning around to look for a desk. But what met her eyes was not something she wanted. Winnie, stood, with Ray, in here. Jess’ eyes widen as she saw the girl. But then it dawned on her. She just kissed Will, she just said about them being boyfriend and girlfriend. Winnie would surely flip out, well if she wasn’t such a... Jess stopped her thoughts; she and Winnie had to try to get along. But, she shall leave that up to Winnie to begin. “Oh shit” She muttered biting her lip. |

Why was this so difficult? He supposed it was his fault for bringing it up. But the way she reacted... it had made his heart tug and skip eratically. Though he couldn't act, could he? No doubt he wanted to, that had to mean something. It had to. But what could he do? He found himself moving towards her, despite himself. It was very slight and almost done on a subconscious level. But Ray stopped himself, now entirely unsure of himself. "Winnie--" Why aren't we together? I think I- His thought process was completely cut off as the door swung open and a couple, sucking face entered. Ray had jumped at the sound and hit his back against the ledge in his scurry to reclaim... normality. Whatever he was going to say, whatever was going to happen was ultimately lost. He could then, only watch in awe at the scene that unfolded in front of him. Jess and Will, huh. She really got around. His gaze turned to Winnie, questioningly. Wondering how she would react to Jess and Will being in a relationship. Though he wasn't sure if he was glad for the interruption, he knew he should be. Things were getting sort of intense. Most of him was kind of afraid Will had noticed the atmosphere when he entered between the two, but he was probably too occupied. Nope, to this situation he really didn't have anything to say. What could he say? Hopefully Will wouldn't make the normal unused classroom connection, because Ray probably wouldn't survive the night if he did. Trying to act normal, he shoved his hands into his pants pockets and let out a low whistle. "Man, there's something to be said for these classrooms." Perhaps trying to lighten the mood, ignoring the fact that the situation was suddenly even more awkward then before. He and Jess had kissed. He and Will hadn't spoken in forever- Ray wanted to be with Winnie. Things didn't get much better than this. "Fancy seeing you two here, it certainly is a nice day for... I'm just going to stop talking." He finally reasoned, to the awkward silence in the room. He then put on a winning smile and turned his focus to his guitar. Perhaps he could play some raging battle music. What could follow would probably not be pretty. Edited by Ray Jenning, Jun 4 2011, 11:46:21 AM.

Will was completely captivated by Jess and with his attention focused solely on her he never even took a moment to consider that other occupants might reside in the room. The thought didn't even come near to crossing through his head as Jess pulled him into the room and pushed the door closed. Will's mind was filled with rather different thoughts than concern. His gaze never left the beautiful girl he was now lucky to be with. He grinned as she leaned in for another kiss. In those moments that their lips met all was well. Calm before the storm. Everything was dandy, absolutely perfect until Will followed Jessica's gaze into the room. A momentary pause ensued as Will analyzed the situation and everyone in the room waited for whatever was to follow. Had he not warned Ray that he never wanted to see him with his sister again? Had Will not made that perfectly clear? He tried to remain as calm as possible given the circumstances and merely clenched his fists tightly at his sides. The scene seemed innocent enough, though if you took into account what normally happened in empty classrooms then you could infer that what had been to follow wasn't nearly so innocent. It was a tempting thought to bring his fist to Ray's face once more. For Jess and Winnie's sake more than anything he restrained himself. Ray started babbling a bunch of nonsense, as usual, and Will simply glared at him all the while. If Ray didn't shut up he intended on shutting the boy up himself. "I'm going to let you explain why you're in a classroom alone with my sister," Will stated through gritted teeth. Perhaps he deserved a chance to explain himself before he got beat up for the second time. Before Will knocked some sense into that idiotic head of his. Will couldn't recall one good reason for their friendship before. "Because from where I'm standing it doesn't look so great." If the scene really was what Will thought it was then Ray might end up accidentally falling out of the window. Of course Winnie wasn't to blame. Why would Winnie be interested in a guy like Ray? Surely it wasn't by choice that she was alone in a room with him. Or so William thought. He glanced at Jess, his eyes clearly full of anger as they had been during Ray and Will's last encounter. Any regrets he'd had were all consumed by his fury right now, but he was sure Jess would try to stop him from doing something he'd regret even more, in any case. It crossed his mind then that Winnie wasn't particularly fond of Jess, who had just revealed that they were dating. Winnie much preferred Athena for Will, but he'd assured her that they were over. This was bound to be an interesting morning for all of them. Edited by William Anderson, Jun 6 2011, 02:44:50 AM.

Forget what everyone else wants. None of it matters anyway if neither of you are happy. Winnie kept reciting those thoughts in her mind was she watched Ray longingly. She wanted so badly to speak them aloud. She wanted so badly to eliminate the space between them. Winnie thought Ray might have been thinking the exact thing as he neared her before stopping abruptly, perhaps giving things a second thought. Winnie was tired of thinking and debating and wishing. It all seemed pointless to her at that point. She waited for Ray to finish whatever he had been about to say, hopeful that it might be something she wanted to hear. That was until he was interrupted by the opening of the door. At first she didn't recognize the two, but realization dawned on her fairly quickly and her eyes widened. It had to be them of all people. There weren't many people that Winnie didn't get along with at all, but Jess was one of them. To see her with Will was sickening in the first place. Even more sickening was the fact that Will had just entered the room. She met Ray's eyes, worry evident in her own. She wanted desperately to know what he'd been about to say, but she supposed she should concern herself more with the situation at hand. As always, things with Ray would have to be put on hold. Winnie couldn't help but feel like things would always be like that. She crossed her arms and waited for Will and Jess to realize that they weren't completely alone in the unused classroom, though at first it seemed like they were far too interested in each other to glance upwards for even a moment. It was disgusting. When they did finally take notice the atmosphere seemed tense. Winnie eyed Will closely and could immediately tell that the same rage filled him as it had on Christmas. She sighed, only hoping that things wouldn't end up the same way they had before. The only good thing Jess had done was prevent that from going any further. The silence was broken by Ray's voice, though Winnie was hardly taking in what he was saying. She shot Jess a particularly unfriendly expression before Will finally spoke. "Don't blame Ray for this. We were just talking. I don't even want to know what you were here for, but I'm not like you," Winnie said, directing the last bit to both Will and Jess. She just wanted for this to be over, but she feared that far worse things might be to come. She hoped Will could keep that blasted temper of his under control and quit getting involved were he wasn't welcomed. Though, Winnie couldn't really talk because she'd tried to drive Jess away from Will. That plan had obviously failed. Edited by Winnie Anderson, Jun 6 2011, 03:12:53 AM.

Ray watched, as calmly as possible, as Will's face contorted in his attempts to control his rage. He was in the motions of pulling his guitar off before he noticed that Will wasn't advancing, thank god. His guitar would be safe another day... if he could handle this situation properly. Though Will wasn't making it easy for him not to scoff. He should really be talking. If only he knew the extent Ray had been controlling himself, like a good boy so as not to break Will's trust again. But did it matter when the situation was reversed? Absolutely no couth at all, he could have at least responded to Jess before he had started ragging on Ray. Ray glanced over as Winnie responded almost spitefully, it made him smile, despite the situation; "Winnie! Defending my honor. How could I ever hope to repay you, m'lady?" Not the best time to joke, right? He tried to control the part of him that was coming up with the jokes desperately. It was just how he reacted to stressful situations. Plus, he couldn't quite stop thinking about what would have happened had they not been interrupted and if maybe Will had some basis for those accusations. He turned to face his fellow Gryffindor, unsure of what to say. Only cheap puns came to mind at first. "There's nothing to explain. How would you feel if I reciprocated the question... and in front of Winnie, her poor ears..." Nope, couldn't quite be serious. Ray realized he probably shouldn't be riling Will up, but Ray was allowed to get annoyed; the guy was being ridiculous, idiotic even. Though is he had walked in a few minutes later... He shook the thought, though it was hard. "I'll be serious. I finally got my guitar back today, decided it would be a great time to play, so I ventured into this classroom to do so. Woulda gone outside if it wasn't so cold- not the point." He paused for a few moments to scratch a particularly itchy spot behind his neck. Partially to let the 'finally got my guitar back' line to sink in; that was his fault. "Winnie probably heard my playing and decided to see what was up, so we've been chillin, reminiscing and trying to figure out the best way to fix our debacle." Ray stated simply. "Or did you want the complete recount of my day starting from; 'It was January the 18th, a particularly cold and miserable day...'?" "Look, we need to sort some shit out." Ray stated, staring directly at Will. "I don't know what type of person you think I am, but this is ridiculous." He reasoned, inferring to the abject awkwardness of this entire situation. "So, here goes, I'm sorry I kissed your sister without your express permission. That was uncool." His tone was as sincere as he could make it while trying desperately to withhold the 'but you overreacted' tone from entering the sentence. He glanced around the room awkwardly, feeling the express need to be elsewhere all of a sudden. He was doing his best not to look at Winnie and commenced shoving his hands aimlessly into his pockets. Talking in weird situations generally put him at ease. Though people tended to ignore him, which was cool too. "I can understand your anger. But I assure you it's misplaced." He managed after a few moments, Ray had a little sister, after all, "But I won't stop being friends with Winnie and I don't want to stop being friends with you... and you're new, I'm assuming, girlfriend... Sorry about this Jess, probably the last thing on your 'to do' list, huh?" Now he glanced over at Winnie, unsure of where to proceed. "I should probably go, before I make a bigger idiot out of myself." This was was stated unsurely, as Will was still in the doorway and he didn't know if he wanted to get too close to Will. Would he still be mad? Ray wasn't particularly good at appeasement when he was pissed. It had taken everything not to say; 'You owe me some money, by the way.' ooc/ want me to edit, just say XD Long, lots of talking. Didn't think he'd be able to handle a situation like this very tactfully. |

"Man, there's something to be said for these classrooms." Jess bit onto her lip trying not to let out a small laugh, perfecting timing eh? But Ray’s next sentence couldn’t stop Jess letting out a small laugh, shaking her head as she did so keeping her eyes on Ray. “You got that right” She muttered, glancing to his guitar and walking over trying not to look at Winnie. She was obviously not impressed and going to yell, but hey, if her and Will wanted to argue about who they dated they could. She’d just go and chat to Ray for a little bit. “You got your guitar? Dude we need to jam some time” She said moving the guitar lightly to look at the smooth surface. It was a bloody good guitar. Hearing Winnie, Jess looked up scoffing a little before glancing to Will. She didn’t say anything for two reasons. One being she was Will’s sister; he would surely get mad if she turned on Winnie. Two being that she was very good friends with Ray, she didn’t want to make him mad either. Hearing Ray, Jess shook her head a little wondering if he wanted to get punched again. Turning to Will, Jess walked back over grabbing his hand lightly and smiling. “He said sorry, why don’t you two just like start again?” She wondered, she didn’t want them fighting anymore. For Ray’s sake and Will’s sake, certainly not for Winnie’s. “Him and Francis seemed to patch it up, and they practically broke his heart and caused him to go crazy.” Just that bit to annoy Winnie. “Why can’t you two?” She shrugged, smiling to Ray and giving him thumbs up. “Dude you’ll always be one of my best friends, we’re gonna be in a band” Lifting the mood was hopefully going to go well, she hoped it would anyway. |

Wiliam used to regard Ray as a generally good guy, a good friend in any case. That vision of his friend had been completely obscured when he'd heard that he'd kissed his sister. At that point Ray had solely seemed like the one to blame, the only one to blame. Will was almost surprised to hear Winnie stand up for him. He hadn't considered before that her feelings for Ray could possibly be genuine. He tried to hide his annoyance at Jess's friendly conversation with Ray. Being friendly or civil hadn't seemed like an option the last time he and Ray had spoke, but perhaps that was the best way to go about things now, after the initial anger had worn off with time. Will decided he would try to be rational, given the circumstances. Ray's joking tone, however, was grating on his nerves. The whole explanation of what was happening seemed innocent enough. Whether it was the truth in all actuality was the question. His eyes remained fixed on the floor, his expression clearly unsure. Some of the immediate anger had dissipated and now he was left with the realization that maybe he had been ridiculous from the start. Ray was right, they really did need to sort the whole mess out. It wasn't good for any of them. Will finally glanced up, shooting a questioning look Winnie's way. All of his reaction, all of this, had been to protect her in the beginning. If this was what she wanted, if she wanted to be friends with Ray, more than friends, whatever she wanted, then how could Will stop her? It was always difficult for the Gryffindor to admit he was wrong, but it seemed there was no other way to proceed. At this point, it seemed rather obvious the whole situation was ridiculous. William relaxed slightly, his expression softened. "Look, you're right. I'm sorry man. The whole thing just caught me off guard and," Will looked at Winnie for another moment. He'd made it his job to protect her his whole life. Their father had never taken on that job himself and she'd always be the little girl he'd comforted and kept from harm's way. Will wanted to roll his eyes at his own ridiculous sentimentality. "And I overreacted to everything." It felt good to say after all that time. His eyes shifted from Winnie to Jess, glad for her role in everything. If it wasn't for her there would have been no reason for him to calm himself in the first place. Things might have gotten out of hand again. He'd had more restraint for her sake that day. William resisted the urge to let out a long laugh about it all. If Ray was willing to forgive him for everthing, then he didn't see a reason why they couldn't be friends again. Will still wasn't completely okay with everything, but for now a patched up friendship would most likely do. It was nice to know there was a possibility everything could go back to normal. Winnie stifled a giggle at Ray's words, though she quickly wiped the grin off of her face as Will didn't seem too happy about anyone joking at the moment. Jess was particularly irritating her as she spoke to Ray as if they were the best of friends. Perhaps they were. Having been avoiding Ray, she wasn't sure of anything in his life anymore. She tried to ignore the fact that Will and Jess were now dating and avoided shooting Jessica anymore nasty expressions. It was uncharacteristic of her to do that to anyone. If she was Will's girlfriend, Winnie knew she'd have to get used to her presence at some point. Or she could throw a fit and give Will a taste of his own medicine. Ray proceeded in an an explanation, followed by an apology. They didn't exactly seem all too sincere, but then again, what did the boy even have to apologize for? At least he was trying to make everything work. Oddly enough, Will seemed to almost be considering the words and not let his heated temper obscure his thought process. He was silent for quite a while as Ray spoke, thinking. Winnie eyed him closely, occasionally glancing at Ray and avoiding looking at Jess all together. She held Will's gaze for the moments he looked at her, trying to read what was behind it and what was crossing through her brother's mind. It shocked her that the first words that escaped his mouth were an apology after everything, and after the anger in his eyes mere moments before. She'd hardly expected that Will and Ray's reconciliation would be so simple, so easy. She was grateful for it, nevertheless. Perhaps she should have taken a lesson from them and forgiven Jess for everything right then and there, but she still found she bore a particular disliking for the girl as she stood across the room from her. Winnie still despised the thought of her being a part of her life, being with Will. She couldn't interfere now after everything. She supposed she owed it to Will to be understanding of that. OOC: I'm sorry this is really crappy and it took me forever to post, but I wanted to finally get something out there! Edited by Winnie Anderson, Jun 12 2011, 07:16:53 PM.

It was hard not to focus on the tension across the room, though he was glad he had put the girls at ease partially with his initial awkward comments. It was even harder not to focus on Winnie's stifled giggle, it both drew him back to Will's anger and why it was there. No, joking was probably not the best idea, considering the situation. But was it really his fault for trying to lighten the mood? Ray grinned at Jess, he was in total agreement of course. He's provide the raw, untamed talent, haha and she'd provide the raw natural freestyling talent. It worked out quite splendidly on both parts. He became increasingly more happy for her presense as she appealed to Will to let things go. He grinned broadely at his friend's apology. "No worries, don't beat yourself up over it or anything." Ray stated simply, with a wide grin, pun intended. The situation was still weirding him out. He didn't need to hear an apology. Ray would have been prefectly cool with will just backing off the entire situation, then things could go back to normal. This whole expressal of feelings thing was getting heavy. But he was infinitely glad his prior attitude hadn't gotten him another good punch in the jaw. Though if he ran into Hanna again, it might not be so bad. His gaze flashed over to Winnie even as he thought it. He couldn't chase her forever, could he? Part of him, and it was sort of a scary thought, wanted to. But, that was dangerous territory to venture into right now. Not sure how to respond to Will's apology he merely shrugged, walked over and punched him, lightly, almost affectionately, on the shoulder. "Anyone else hungy? I'm starved." Ray let out a tiny chuckle, shook his head and stepped away from Will. Ray couldn't quite stop himself from glancing back at Winnie and waving, the tiniest hint of a grin sprawled across his face. Though the rest of him was in slight turmoil, feeling things between them were unfinished. "Welp, this was fun, interesting anyways. So I'lllllll see you guys down there?" The question didn't really need to be answered. Ray didn't want to press matters further than he already had. He threw a grin at Will. "Perhaps later?" A small wink before disappearing out of the classroom. He was sure Winnie would have a few things to say about Jess and he didn't want to intrude, or anything. Plus, staying longer just seemed ridiculous. Edited by Ray Jenning, Jun 12 2011, 07:52:52 PM.

Smiling wide as Jess heard Will apologize, she wrapped both her arms around his arm squeezing it slightly. She was really happy it was all sorted now; maybe they could all just chat like normal. Well, by that she meant her Will and Ray. Winnie wasn’t an option at this point, but when Ray excused himself she began to wonder why. Something didn’t feel right, glancing around the room she noticed Winnie wasn’t even looking over to where Will was. Of course she wasn’t going to be looking at Jess, they seemed to hate one another. Leaning up, Jess pecked Will’s cheek lightly before crossing her own arms and looking over to Winnie. “Do you hate me?” Jess questioned towards Winnie, trying not to smirk as she usually would. She didn’t like Winnie much at all, but maybe that could change with a few crossed words. If Ray and Will had sorted out their differences, why couldn’t Winnie and Jess? Maybe it was because Winnie and Jess didn’t really want to. But it was worth trying wasn’t it? |
