| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. General Information: Full name: Adrien Michael Callahan. Nickname(s): Adrien. Pronunciation: Eh dree ehn. Gender: Male. Birthdate: June 24. Age: 16. Year: Sixth Year. Blood: Half-blood, it's complex. Both his parents are wizards. His mothers' great grandparents were half blooded. One of his fathers' great great grandparents was a muggle born. And of course there's half bloods and mixed bloods and complex bloods after that as well. Wand: 8", Hawthorn, Thestral tail hair. Preferred House: Slytherin. Appearance: Height: 5'10" Eyes: Brown eyes, hooded lids, they appear to be constantly brooding. Hair: Also brown, almost the same tone as his eyes. The length differs but never gets short enough to reveal his forehead. Physical Description: Adrien is blessed with naturally dark skin, which is probably the only reason he doesn't look like a walking skeleton half the time. He is a rather unspectacular, scrawny thing. Though there is a certain, strange loveliness about his face, perhaps because his features fit together so nicely, like his mothers. He would be quite attractive to those who enjoy brooding, skinny people; as that is the category he would fit into if I had to make one. The only thing particularly odd about his face is perhaps its flawlessness, no obscure blemishes or marks. His face itself is rather angular and his ears a tiny bit too large for the head they sit on. Adrien is also incredibly skinny, mostly due to the fact that he never eats. Basically unremarkable, as I said. But there's something more to his eyes, also, an inexplicable complexity. His emotions show through his eyes, but they are difficult to interpret. Mostly it just looks like he's having a bad day. Constantly. He generally tries not to put much attention into his appearance, except during social functions, or places where he'd be around his parents. They expect much from him. But at Hogwarts he mostly stays in his school uniform. Or whatever he falls asleep in; jeans and sweaters mostly. He carries with him an odd air of superiority, despite all this. It is only really prominent in the way he stands, and the way he looks down at people. This is despite his appearance of a worn out rag doll, of course. It's almost impressive that he can maintain such an air despite all this. It might even be considered ridiculous, if anyone dared to say so. Not that it would concern him greatly if they did. He doesn't consider his presence or the way he looks to even consider such a statement to be valid. Superiority comes with talent, not personal looks. Personality: Adrien is quiet, perceptive and cunning. In fact he would have done quite well in Ravenclaw were it not for an extreme desire to impress his family. He is quite lacking in his own ambition. Adrien doesn't care where he ends up or how, really. Most of the time spent in class, is spent brooding or listening to the people around him. He knows a surprising amount about his classmates because of this, a little more then he cares to know. Though, despite the fact that he doesn't pay much attention in class, he is quite aware of what is being taught. In fact, he is often quite aware of most things. His memory is eidetic and he would be able to recreate any scene from his day with precision on a sheet of paper. Almost like an architect would be able to. His hand is steady, and precise. Adrien has few friends and of those friends none would truly know everything about him. He finds trusting people a silly habit to get into, especially growing up in the Slytherin house. You never knew who was trustworthy or who was going to stab you in the back the moment you turned around. It would be nice if that statement wasn't literal. So Adrien got by, survived, by not making friends or allies; by trusting no one save himself. Explicitly. Over the years he's gained a bit of a reputation as being unapproachable. It works for him, mostly. Certainly leaves him with a lot less drama to deal with. He doesn't understand peoples' constant need to be sociable, which is probably why he is so introverted. Among other reasons, about to be and previously stated. The boy is inflicted with a bit of a superiority complex. He doesn't like wasting his time with the trivial matters of others. Though he wouldn't say no to a conversation with another, every so often. But you would never know his true feelings about you, good or bad as he is quite handicapped at expressing them. Plus it isn't really any of your business anyways. Most of the time people view his quietness and inability to hold a normal conversation, mixed with such an obvious air of superiority in his manner, to be condescending and would rather not talk to him anyways. Mostly the superiority was put into his by his father, a highly ambitious, highly capable man who knew how to get what he wanted. Adrien was brought up to know his place, but only to the extent that would keep him out of trouble. He views himself as highly intellectual and intelligent, but like most teenagers with the same views he might not be as clever as he thinks he is. Needless to say, it's not like he doesn't wish he could hold a normal conversation with someone without worrying about messing something up or getting hurt in the long run. Though thoughts like this would be quickly squished and ignored. That is dangerous territory. History: The Callahan and Burkley families had had a long standing working relationship before Rue and Harold ever met. In fact, some of the older Burkley-Callahans like to muse that the families knew each other before they were known as magical. But those are probably just the musings of an older generation. The two were childhood friends of a sort. They were constantly arguing and fighting even from a young age. Though with age came a bit more of a refined attitude. Harold was two years older than Rue and she attached to him at school, almost like a leech, learning what she was to learn in the upcoming years. They were married when Rue finished her schooling in Hogwarts, and eventually took over the Burkley-Callahan shop. The family is by no means rich, but they are also by no means poor. Adrien came a few years after his parents inherited the shop from their parents. He was a bit of a mistake, but once pregnant her mother insisted on having him. The mistake was not repeated. The three could have almost been considered happy, for a time. Given their situation and lot in life, there's not much to really ask for. Harold and Rue were in a working relationship, Adrien was too young to really perceive anything wrong. Though Harold never treated Adrien as a child would be treated, constantly forcing his to learn, or to watch, or to listen. Adrien was a fast learner, but never fast enough for his father. These lessons, and his want to be elsewhere during him, most likely attributed to an eidetic memory and such high perceptive capabilities. Harold Callahan is a very ambitious man. He was quite excited when the Dark Lord started gaining in power, seeing the opportunity to do well in a place where people weren't bound by rules. He became an avid supporter, and suddenly his wife and child weren't seeing much of him. Also being a secretive man, Harold never spoke of what he did, or what he was trying to do. Rue, after years of living with her, and having better manners drilled into her by her parents, knew better then to pry. Though it obviously strained her. She seemed to enjoy her husbands absences as much as her son, though she hated them just as much. Adrien was glad for the break in his fathers' strange lessons but found himself with nothing to do. He was already in Hogwarts at the time, finding his classes easy to understand and his classmates more so. It didn't draw much of his attention. Adrien, at a young age, knew better then to trust people. Another charming trait he picked up from his father. This came from his fathers' constant dabbling with the darker type wizards, the ones you most definitely couldn't trust. So he didn't make very many, if any friends. He spent most of his time thinking, or drawing, often animating his sketches to portray a class, or a day as it happened in such precise detail it could almost be considered uncanny. Adrien enjoys anything that is hard, and requires focus to learn and perfect. In all honesty, though he would never admit it of course, most of what he does is to gain some form of approval or acknowledgment. Though none would really know this about him, not even him as he has an inherent dislike for his father. Family: Harold Callahan, runs a 'dark magic' shop in Knockturn Alley. He is a supporter of the Dark Lord. Rue Burkley-Callahan, runs the shop in her husbands stead when he is otherwise preoccupied. Pet(s): A cat, highly loyal. Adrien found him in the streets near his house and has been taking care of him since. Called Boota. Possessions: A broomstick from the days he tried to play Quidditch, the sport wasn't to his liking so he stopped. |
