| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. This thread will be used as the official means for anyone to apply to create a character for or become a Knight/Squire of Walpurgis, as well as serving as the official roster of the Knights and Squires of Walpurgis. The Knights of Walpurgis is the criminal organization under the control of Azariah Amaranth. It is HIRP's rendition of the Death Eaters. You can read more about Azariah and the Knights by visiting The HIRP Lexicon(click me!). Characters up for grabs: These characters are inactive Knights that must be taken control of before I will allow any new creations. Please take a look at their character sheets and old posts to see if you could fit a potential of character of yours into one of these. If there is absolutely no way that this is possible, I will attempt to make an exception, but please help us keep the site organized and keep these accounts active! Vincent Gallodren (vampire) CLAIMED? Vindictive Siren (Magda Duchesne) AVAILABLE Seductive Masked Woman (Nora Vibora) CLAIMED

Having a character in the Knights or the Squires is something that we would like to treat the same as having a character with a special ability. Consider this a loose list of requirements: - Follow the rules and set a good example. - Be active, and remain active. Inactive characters centric to the plot are subject to be given to a new owner or killed off. - The administrative staff reserves the right to deny any application for any reason. If your character does not follow our guidelines or measure up to the quality we expect, it will not be granted. The following is what we want out of our Knights and Squires: - Characters must have a realistic reason and motivation for becoming a Knight/Squire. - Characters should fit into a unique archetype that is not already claimed. We want the Knights and Squires to be the opposite of Slytherin house, where carbon copies of every character type imaginable are a dime a dozen. - Examples of existent characters, their archetypes, and their motivation include Jordanna, Julian, Mitch, and Bellatrix. Jordanna is a seductress/temptress type who uses sex as a weapon over males, and is motivated to live up to her royal pure-blood heritage. Julian is the male equivalent to Jordanna, using charm and cunning to bewitch and intimidate others to attain his means. Mitch is a brilliant mind seeking social status and power, and Bellatrix is a purely evil soul who feeds off of the suffering of others. - In a nutshell, characters need to be unique and interesting in their characteristics, the way they reach their goals, and their reasons behind becoming a Knight/Squire. I highly recommend that you contact me before even thinking about applying. Not only will I be able to tell you if I think you meet the requirements, but I am also willing to proofread your application and offer ideas as to how you can further justify and integrate your character. This does not mean, however, that I will give you free ideas so that you can have a character just because you want one. This is the template for applying for Knight/Squire. Please copy it, fill it out, and PM it to me directly to be considered. You will receive your approval or denial via PM from me specifically. Approval from another admin is not a guaranteed ticket through me. If required, I will PM you to ask for further details or clarification. Please read the fields very carefully.
If you have any questions, please post them here or PM an administrator. |

Current or new?: Current Name of character: Rana Rosanne Knight or Squire?: Squire. Motivation: Rana strives to gain the attention of her parents. Though they normally ignores her, she thinks that she could prove herself by becoming a Knight. Above all, she wants to be recognized as her brother's equal, and this could be one of the only opportunities for her to achieve that goal. Combine that with her secret craving for power, and she could end up a dedicated member of the Squires. Rana has a small handful of people that she considers powerful enough to respect, and though she hasn't met them yet, the Squires are included. She normally keeps her feelings to herself, but Rana finds that the Squires would be one of the groups that she would fit in with. She doesn't really care for the killings or the kidnappings, but what her father thinks of her is everything. Character role: Rana doesn't consider herself scared of doing anything. She's willing to do anything that the Squires need done, and she's alright at following orders. Rana is not the most intelligent person in the world, but she's dedicated, and she doesn't often give up. Though she'll likely attempt to steal the spotlight from time to time, she will never find a task too difficult for her to complete. Unless her life was at risk, she probably wouldn't hesitate. Rana's pretty good at pushing her feelings aside. Work first, people second. If I had to summarize her role, she definitely isn't the type of person that's would be in charge. With someone else pulling the strings, she'd be a good little puppet. Rana is the type that would willingly volunteer to do the dirty work, but she wouldn't likely steal a job from somebody else. She has a loud mouth, which could be dangerous to the Squires, but she could also be valuable, since she'll do what others tell her to do without question. Plot ideas: Rana would probably end up doing most of the dirty work, since she wouldn't really care. I'm hoping that, after year seven, Rana could continue working for The Dark Lord. If Azariah was defeated, she would probably try to push her way higher, even if was pointless. She's a bit of an attention hog, so she would try to gain the respect of the other Squires. If her personality became too much, you can totally kill her off, or have the others threaten to. Reasons you should be granted this character: I think that it could be interesting if Rana did, in fact, end up as a Squire. She's very loud, and she easily latches on to the few that she respects. She's sarcastic, loud-mouthed and bitchy, but she's also hard-working and determined. She will look up to the other Squires the same way that she looks up to her father, which could be another reason for why she works so hard to gain their respect. Out of character/miscellaneous reasons why you think you deserve this role: Well, I'm online every day. I haven't been a member of this site for too long, but I'm definitely going to remain one for as long as possible. I'd love to become involved in the main plot more than I already am, and this would be a great way. Plus, I've come to love Rana, though I hated her awhile ago. I don't think my post count is too low, and I do my best to help where ever I can. I do not really know about the quality of my posts, but I believe the majority of them are well done, and well thought out. Edited by Rana Rosanne, Aug 3 2011, 08:49:32 PM.

Current: Name of character: Adrien Callahan. Knight or Squire?: Squire. Motivation: Adrien's main motivation for being a squire is his father, an avid supporter of the Dark Lord. It is often natural to follow in a fathers' footsteps in such cases. For Adrien, becoming a squire seemed the only possible thing that could happen. Would it not be weird that the son of such a supporter was not in such a group? Adrien is by no means evil. In fact, he would prefer to use any useful ability merely in aiding the squires then doing any dirty work and that is only if he deems it absolutely necessary in order to keep up a 'safe' reputation within said group. Actually it might be better, seeing as I think it would be awesome to have a squire that none of the squires really trusted, if he somehow managed to avoid such things constantly. Just an idea. The only real value he shares with the Dark Lord is the want to be free. If once is truly free, why should he have to torture or kill anyways? Mostly he will hide behind his skill as an illusionist, and the potential such an ability could be for the squires and the Dark Lord. Character role: Being an illusionist, he would mostly hold a supporting role. He'd be the guy making everyone's life easier by making victims incapable of fighting back. This could be a good or bad thing depending on the squire and their levels of sadism. Adrien is also quite adept at spells; having an eidetic memory, and would be quite handy in a pinch. He is unique in that he is not particularly ambitious, just cautious. He knows his place and will not step out of it. Which will most likely end up annoying some squires. He isn't particularly sadistic, but he is guarded enough about his thoughts for no one to really know his true nature and why he is a part of the squires. People will be suspicious, but won't be able to do much unless he really screws up. If it comes down to his life, or a situation that would lead to something compromising, over someone elses, he will do what it takes to survive. Plot ideas: For something major; I think Adrien could be the key point to a major attack somewhere along the line, the squires will want him to put a large group of people under an illusion so they can do their what not easier. He'll lose his nerve, and either not act according to plan or completely turn on the squires. Other then that, I think he would be a constant aggravation to the squires, it would be a constant; 'what is he up to?' type thing. They could try to gather information from him, he could ignore them/aggravate them more. Eventually the squire/a particular squire could get fed up with him and attack him? At the end of year seven it's highly likely he'll be dead, or on the list of about to be dead. Unless he can somehow weasel his way out of peoples' suspicions. If Azariah was defeated he would be greatly relieved. Adrien wouldn't have to worry about putting a show on for anyone, in fear of compromising anyone's life. Reasons you should be granted this character: I am very active, my posts are generally long and descriptive. I want to have more of a part in the site and major plots and figured making a squire would be the best way to do that. Plus it would really give me somewhere to go with this character, make him more interesting. Edited by Adrien Callahan, May 5 2011, 10:11:28 PM.

Are you requesting this position for a current character, or a new character?: Current Name of character: Scarlett Fischer Knight or Squire?: Squire Motivation Scarlett is all about her studies so she can get ahead in life. completely after being in a love triangle with Edward Fairfax and Jess. She's going to be secretly a little hurt (more because she thought of them as friends) and is determined not to feel like that again. Enter Collin Wickham, the man who teach her to put her emotions aside. He will take their ‘training' one step too far by having a fling with her, which deep down means more to her than she will let on. It will be this that pushes her over the edge, turning her into a emotionless machine that trusts no one. She will take it even further, asking the assistance of Ian to further rid her of emotions. Right now she is blinded by Kemp and his status. She feels that by being on his good side, she will get higher status and a good job, something Scarlett wants more than anything in the world. She will be involved in the trials that take place after the interrogations, hoping to impress Kemp. Once she sees the opportunities made available to her by the Squires, her interests and goals shift. She also has an ability that could be useful. So they would be using her as much as she would use them. Character role: As her emotions and feelings in general will be nonexistent she would be most useful as a killer. She will have no problem having some die by her wand. She only wishes to become more powerful, wanting to be as close to Julian in any way that is useful to him. She has clairvoyance where she is able to retrieve information from objects. I figured she could eventually be able to get information like what the object was being used for or what the person was doing at the time. The information she receives would depend on how long the object was held/used or how long a person was there. At some point she could be able to tell where an object/person is just by thinking about it. I figured it could be easier for her to find objects/people depending on the urgency. This would help in retrieving useful information. Downfalls would be not getting the information right, such as who was using an object or for what. She could maybe get the actions of a person right but at the wrong place and vice versa. Another limit could be only seeing people clearly in places she's been before; otherwise if it's a new place it could not be as clear to her. As mentioned, the value of importance of finding whatever person/object would make it easier/harder Plot ideas: Also, since I am having her focus her studies on so she can be an Auror, she after year seven she would pose as one, since her infatuation with Kemp and the MLE would let her be in their favor. She at that point would be infiltrating the new Ministry. She would also do anything asked of her. Though secretly, I think she would at some point want to try have more control than Julian, their group leader. And if Azariah was defeated, Scarlett would continue her role as an Auror so that if a new lord were to rise, she would be able to still play her double life. Reasons you should be granted this character: Out of character/miscellaneous reasons why you think you deserve this role. My post count is pretty decent and I am as active as life allows me to be. I also highly invested in this site and the plots it has. I also feel that my posts are pretty lengthy and well-written. I follow the rules, am realistic when it comes to plots/character ideas and takes criticism well when my ideas aren't so great. I just really want to be more involved in the central plot and feel this is a great way to do so. One thing I am curious about, if accepted how would she get the interest of the Squires? Would it be up to me or up to a member of the Squires? |

Rana's approved. Copy everything in your app and throw it on your character sheet (preferably inside of a spoiler tag so it doesn't double your sheet's length). Scarlett and Eme are approved pending further conversation with yours truly. Throw me a PM/hit me on MSN so we can hammer out the details and so I can answer your questions. |
