| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Emirye entered the dorm with a sigh, elongated for dramatic effect. It felt good to be alone, finally. She was so sick of dealing with boys at this point. Honestly. Perhaps she just wasn't prepared for the complexity that a relationship would bring. Not that it was like that with either of the boys... really. Was it? Certainly not with Marcus. She was still quite unsure over her feelings, even after they had kissed, even after Janice had raged at them. Certainly she should hate his guts. But it was true, they were too different to even have a chance of making anything work. Grayson... she didn't know how she felt about him either. Eme got a dull ache in her stomach at the thought of dealing with both of the boys again. It was too frustrating. Though her mind continued to wander between them. She slumped onto her poster bed and slammed her fist against the wall in aggravation. How could she have been so stupid? Kissing a guy she hardly knew, ruining two friendships? Could either Grayson or Janice forgive her? Janice was always so full of steam, all she would have to do was explain herself to Janice. Grayson was more complex then that. Emirye couldn't explain herself to him, she didn't know how. I was scared, because I thought it would go further then a friendly date and then I met a Slytherin in the Student Lounge and kissed him! Great apology story. Worst Christmas ever. None of this would have happened if she had gone home for Christmas. Emirye cursed the MLE inwardly. The hand she had hit the wall with was throbbing quietly. Emirye sat up and sighed. She felt oddly obliged to go to the Yule Ball. Though part of her regretted not saying yes- that thought was pushed out of her head rather quickly. She grabbed for a brush and quickly started to brush out her hair with furious strokes that hurt her head as her thoughts turned to Marcus. Emirye groaned in frustration and collapsed backwards once more, feeling maybe like she needed to cry. Her scalp hurt, her hand was throbbing and she couldn't organize her thoughts. Part of her felt that maybe Zoey would be able to help her, but there was no way they could owl back and forth fast enough. Sometimes she missed muggles inventions such as the telephone. Eme blinked back aggravated tears before staring blankly up at the poster bed above her own. Forcing all thoughts out of her mind as she did so. She completely focused on the bottom of the mattress, the wooden pieces that kept the other mattress from falling onto her while she slept. Em wasn't sure how long she had laid there but she sat up a while later, and sniffled. Had she been crying? A quick glance in the mirror gave her a chance to see puffy eyes and general redness. She took in a deep breath, calming her nerves. She felt better. However slightly. No doubt to the chemicals released when a person cried, they were always beneficial. Quietly she resumed brushing her hair and turned her thoughts to what she would wear. Emirye wasn't incredibly girly, in fact she used to say she'd rather die then get caught in one. But her elder sister had had a bit of an influence on her over the Summer. If her current situation was anything to say for that. Em had never even remotely been interested in a romantic relationship before- that was off topic. She was startled a little as someone entered the dorm. Though she managed a smile at the person, not really taking the time to notice who they were before casting her eyes back onto the floor. Part of her would have preferred the continued alone time, part of her was glad for the distraction from it. |

Nicole entered the girls dormitory swiftly, trying to hurry to get ready for the ball. She pulled the cutest formal dress she could find from her wardrobe, and slipped it on. It was a nude pink tone, and she just happened to have accessories to match. Even though it felt like hours, putting her clothes on took seconds. Next came the makeup. She stood in the bathroom carefully applying all her makeup, carefully. Eventually, when she looked as beautiful as she felt, she slipped out of the girls dormitory. |

Brynn entered the girls' dormitory feeling a nervous excitement bubble within her. Her deep brown eyes immediately locked onto Emirye who upon initial inspection looked fine. Brynn offered her a broad grin realizing quite a bit of time had elapsed since their last conversation. There had been an exchange of words here and there, but not like you'd expect from two friends who were as close as they had been at one point. "Hello, Emirye," she stated enthusiastically as she made her way over to the mirror. In the reflection not only did she see herself but she noticed that Em appeared slightly distraught with her eyes red and puffy. Brynn swiveled around to face her and attempted to decipher exactly what her facial expression indicated. Without a word Brynn made her way over to the bed and sat down. Her mind desperately searched for a way to question the situation. She had always been fond of Em because she wasn't the overly-emotional sort of girl you encountered day to day and she knew how to hold a conversation that wasn't completely meaningless. Brynn tilted her head to the side slightly as she thought and ran her fingers through her brown curls absentmindedly. Lately it seemed like her friend had been rather different from her normal self. "Is everything alright? You look.... like a mess," Brynn said. She didn't want Em to put a damper on her excitement for the Yule Ball, but she supposed it was her duty to be there for her friend. |

Emirye, upon glancing at her friend decided two things. One, Brynn wasn't exactly good at dealing with emotional wrecks and two she wasn't going to ruin another persons' day with her melodrama. She had been rather melodramatic lately, instead of looking upon each situation logically. Though it was particularly hard to look on a situation logically when you had never been in it before. It was all completely new and it bothered her more then a little, but surely she could fix whatever she had gotten herself into lately. For the future, perhaps, she would not be so stupid. Perhaps. "Brynn, it feels like ages since the last time we spoke." Perhaps they had been avoiding each other, partially. Eme had been being a bit of a head case lately. Brynn hadn't signed up for that, Emirye had always been a fairly reasonable person. So, it was not such a big deal. Either way, she was excited to see her friend, it had been a long while. "O-oh." Completely taken off guard as her friend sat beside her. She hadn't quite thought through how to brush off her situation and make it seem less melodramatic. "Is it really that bad? I'll frighten all the people at the dance, won't I?" Despite herself, she felt a small grin form. "In all honesty, this is my first Christmas spent as Hogwarts. It's been quite... an experience. I probably just miss my family, you know, hordes of kids jumping about." Emirye paused momentarily before shrugging, this was more a statement to herself; "I wasn't quite prepared for the drama people higher then my waist could bring. Who would have thought people were so complicated?" Eme glanced over at Brynn and managed a smile, wondering what she was excited for. It was nice to know someone had been having a good morning. "Go on then, who asked you?" Obviously in reference to Brynn's excited demeanor. "Please don't say it was Tudor." Emirye teased, after a few moments. She would try not to bother Brynn if it had been him. But the guy seriously bothered her. Perhaps she had met her fairy tale prince, the guy who swept her off her feet, after saving her life of course, and was all dashing, charming and of course only had eyes for one girl. Wouldn't that be something? He probably wasn't a Slytherin, she noted with slight disdain. But she quickly swept the thought out of her head, it didn't even matter. All that was left was to appease Janice and somehow try to save their friendship, which, in the very least, she was obliged to do. Right? Knowing Janice, she'd probably storm up and confront her about the whole thing. She felt sorry for whoever was around her at the time. |

"It has been far too long," Brynn said in agreement in a rather formal tone for speaking to a close friend. She watched Em for a moment before averting her eyes and hopping up. The ball was soon and of course a girl wanted to look her best. Especially when they were going with Dave McKelvey, not that he wouldn't be impressed either way. Brynn grinned at the thought while taking a section of her hair and brushing through it carefully. "It's pretty bad," she teased lightly, hoping her friend knew she was kidding. Brynn nodded here and there as Emirye explained her crazy Christmas morning, wondering what exactly she was getting at. She was disappointed to note that Em didn't elaborate, though she hadn't really expected her to. Brynn glanced over her shoulder wearing an amused expression when Emirye quickly deciphered the reason for her happy state. She couldn't stop a grin from forming on her face at the question before she dissolved into laughter at the thought of going to the ball with Henry Tudor. "No, it wasn't Henry. That is of the past now, I assure you," Brynn replied, glancing back to the mirror. "I'll let it be a surprise," Brynn added after a moment. "You'll see tonight." She stuck a bobby pin in her mouth and arranged her hair in a loose up-do, using the pins to hold it up wherever they were needed. After a quick touch-up on her makeup she pulled out her dress from under the bed. When she felt she looked adequate she made her way back over to the mirror doing a quick last minute check. "I'll see you later, alright? You know, places to go, people to see," Brynn said excitedly. "Try to enjoy yourself!" she exclaimed as she opened the door and descended the stairs, exiting the girls' dormitories. |

Emirye smiled lightly after her friend, glad she had succeeded in keeping someone buoyant or at least in a good mood. She decided that perhaps going wouldn't be such a bad thing, she'd keep her head level. As it had always been before. Everything would be fine. She took a glance at herself in the mirror and cringed. To beautify was something Emirye had never really focused much on. She walked slowly over to the mirror and pinched her cheeks sullenly, bringing forth blotches of red that added some colour to her face. Beautify. Was it really necessary? Perhaps she could just change into her dress and be done with it. Eme turned lightly away from the mirror and searched for her dress, a light blue number she wouldn't have been caught dead in a few years ago. It was strapless, for heaven's sake. When she had changed she snuck a glance at herself in the mirror and snickered. Girly. Terribly so. But she liked the fact that the dress was knee length. A person couldn't do anything in a long dress for fear of mucking the dress up. Emirye spun once for effect and sighed at herself. "Here's to hoping this thing stays on." She muttered, dryly, to herself. Her face was no longer blotchy, her eyes no longer red. Perhaps she didn't look so bad. She sat quietly in front of the mirror and debated what she should do with her hair, if anything. Realizing she was worsening her situation by sitting in front of a mirror debating on girly things she stood. Zoey would be right pleased. What did Emirye know of making herself look nice? Make up, hairstyles? All beyond her. The most she could do was check a mirror and make sure she didn't have anything in her teeth. She left her hair down but pulled an elastic around her wrist in case she felt like tying it up later. Lucky for a natural beauty attributed fully to her parents. Shoes. Surely she couldn't wear her runners with such a fancy dress. Perhaps she could find a pair of flats in this mess. Flats were fairly non committal and there was no way she was going to wear heels. Em slipped her feet into a simple pair of gray flats before exiting the girl's dorm and the common after that; headed for the Great Hall and hopefully a night she wouldn't regret terribly. |
