Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Quidditch teams; suggestion for House Quidditch tournament

So, I was just looking over the lists of Quidditch teams and noticed some of the teams had gaps that would threaten the quidditch season.

How is Slytherin going to play with only half a team?
What happens if one of the members of that team is away for a while?

Then I remembered that in the series there seemed to be players on stand-by, for instance Ginny Weasley replacing Harry as a seeker, Cormac McLaggen replacing Ron.

What I suggest is that lists be extended to create a sort of "substitutes bench" for the quidditch teams. So that if someone has quit or gone on a break, we have a list of people who can fill in for them. This also means that more people can RP as a part of their house quidditch teams, even if they are extras. It also means that the quidditch teams aren't restricted to the first 7 people who applied for positions, but the 7 people who are RPing at the time.

Obviously, positions are preferenced to those that signed up earlier but if they drop out, it would give a chance for others to fill in.

What do you think?

I actually like this idea.

I think it would be wise to notify the players in advance about the games scheduled, but if no reply or if they give us the go ahead, we can allow the substitutions to take their place.

Ravenclaw Beater, Seventh Year

John, I would just like to inform you that after tonight's events we are canceling Quidditch for the entire sixth year. Quidditch teams are irrelevant until seventh year, and at that point we will be replacing/adding members as needed. However, I like the idea of having reserves if needed. Maybe not an entire team. But we can call on members as needed. As it is, since we are canceling Quidditch this year - this won't really be necessary anytime soon.

Edit: At least I'm going by what Dave told me. I may have misunderstood, but I doubt it.

Seventh Year. Lori rocks! But srsly, Morgan is the best! I love Malynne! But not as much as I LOVE ANNA AND LORI. BUT MORGAN STILL PWNS THEM ALL, THE END. I love Meg she is so awesome and epic. Did I mention how silly Jess is?

Hey guys. This is a repost of the quidditch sign up thread that I originally posted for year six. Because of certain plot reasons, the quidditch season is going to be canceled. However, right now in the RP, the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff teams are getting ready to play, but the game is going to be interrupted before it can start.

With that said, I am still interested in maintaining the quidditch roster. Being on the quidditch team will give you access to certain plot devices (like going out onto the pitch and practicing with the team), as well as open up the avenues of your character being known for being on the team and having a relationship with your fellow teammates.

This means that being a member of the quidditch team will be purely ceremonial for year six. As such, I am interested in filling the teams for the time being with people who are active and will actively use the position in-character, either as a way to cement friendships with teammates or whatever else.
...

But yes, we will do this, if we even have quidditch in year seven.

I think it's a good idea. I just logged on and noticed that Gryffindor had a game. (Although from what you said, we're going to be interrupted before that can play out.) Danny's beater, so if I hadn't logged on and we had a game, Gryffindor would be short a beater. I really do like this subsitutes idea. It seems to be a good way to ensure that no matter what, all games can be played out.
