Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Junior Auror's Academy; Year 6 - Day 2 - During the Feast

Abraxas Kemp waited in the unused classroom. Laid out on a large table at the far end were several snacks and treats just in case those leaving the party to come here hadn't yet had their fill. Kemp was joined by two burly aurors. All around the room were various dark detection instruments; little silver objects gleaming in the light of the moon coming through the open window.

He'd sent letters to those interested parties about his little club. The Junior Aurors was his way of gaining their trust, and, also, he figured some might like nothing more than to learn more advanced defense tactics. He would need their trust in order to operate out of Hogwarts more effectively. He could not get that trust from the staff, so he would instead target the children.

It was all for the greater good.

Athena entered the unused classroom quietly. She recieved a letter from the leader of the Junior Auror's Academy himself, Abraxas Kemp. When Athena walked in, she saw that she was alone with the Ministry Offcial. She sat quietly in front, waiting for Beth. Where was Beth? She should be here by now. Athena couldn't be all by herself right now... this was nerve-wrecking.

Athena took out her quill and parchement. She was also thinking of Will and Walter. The guys would be worried where she was; she didn't tell them that she needed to go here. Her date was ruined; everything was ruined. Athene worried. What if Will hated her for bailing? What if... they broke up?

Ginny was the second one in the room.

More people wanted to eat some dinner, she supposed, but still. She felt weird being here practically alone. She nodded to Athena Bellchambers as she sat down. The roll she'd taken was in her purse, still warm. She should probably save it for when she was really hungry... but she pinched off one piece and ate it now.

She'd gotten the letter weeks ago. Of course she'd wanted to come. Junior Auror Academy. It sounded so official. Maybe this would be the way for her to be an Auror, with her barely-an-E Potions grade.

Ginny stared off into space and started fantasizing about the things they'd learn. She was so excited to be here. Being an Auror was still her one ambition... she was ready to start class!

Addie entered the room warily, everything about this seemed wrong to her. She didn't like Kemp, and she didn't like the idea of being directly within his sight.

...Then again, the best place to hide was in plain sight.

As an elementium, and a co-founder of the defense club--a club that directly violated his authority--she had a lot to be cautious about.

The girl made her way further into the room, nodding to the other students and taking a seat near Ginny.

"Welcome," said Kemp to the arriving students, "This is Claus and Victor, two of my most trusted men." The two burly aurors bowed so slightly, it was almost like a muscle twitch in each of their necks and torsos. "I suppose we'll wait a bit longer for anyone else who is going to show up. If you'd like, I have refreshments on the table over there for you while you wait."

Jack sauntered into the classroom calmly, replaying the sweet moments of victory over Henry and every fulfilling punch that collided with his petty face. He had his hands buried deep into his pockets, quietly humming to himself as he peered over to the looming figure of Abraxas Kemp.

Two other mature figures awaited silently, looking menacing and dangerous. Aurors most likely. He found that he was the only male student in the group. The two Gryffindor girls, he recognised instantly as they were all on the Quidditch Team. But the Ravenclaw girl was unfamiliar to him... regrettably. Jack thought she was rather cute.

"Ginny... Captain Addie," Jack saluted the two girls, then turning to gaze expectantly at Kemp. He wondered that he would be here for long. He really didn't want to miss the Halloween Feast. Jack peered quickly around and wondered if John had arrived yet.

He really didn't know if he wanted to become an Auror like his father and soon-to-be-auror Alex. He merely joined because John was joining and he wanted to keep his options open for his future career. It seemed like the Junior Auror Academy was a good opportunity.

Ginny smiled at Jack and Addie then turned to face Kemp. She'd skipped her one class of the day, so ironically enough, she could be learning some defensive magic tonight.

Maybe he'd be impressed by her fire power. It might give her an edge on the other students who wanted to be Aurors as well. Should she tell him? Probably not. She couldn't even really control it yet. It wouldn't do much for her if she had this power she couldn't control.

In fact, did anyone else in the school have these powers? Ginny hadn't told anyone except those who had been with her that night... and Precious. Though Precious certainly had some special magic of her own, too. How many other people could do extraordinary things but had never told a soul?

Ginny bit her lip. Better, surely, to keep her mouth shut. It wouldn't do anything to tell, except maybe get her in trouble. She knew so little about the world she was entering into. But she had to find out more. If she didn't have that darn Quidditch game, maybe she'd go to the library...

No, it could wait until tomorrow. Right now, she should just try to enjoy the lesson as best she could. This was what she was good at, after all.

Sixth Year - So Ridiculous

Firm steps took Chloe Vaughan into the unused classroom, an unusual feeling of excitement growing inside of her. She would have never imagined herself walking into a classroom, for a meeting, outside school hours. It was simply not her. And however, there she was, standing in the entrance of the classroom, ready for whatever they would do.

The girl glanced around and saw some familiar faces: Ginny, Addie, Jack... It was interesting to see that people she knew were up to the same stuff than her.

Chloe felt her heart beating strongly on her chest. She hadn't realized how great it would be to become an auror until very recently, and perhaps if Kemp hadn't mentioned it at the beginning of the year, this feeling would still be hidden from her.

Elle took a moment, standing outside the door of the classroom, to smooth her hair and her olive green tunic. First impressions were everything; she'd known that from a very young age. She straightened her posture, lifted her chin ever so slightly and pushed open the door. She exuded confidence, but never arrogance. Elle knew who she was in the eyes of the MLE: a pawn, no more than a child to be used as a means to an end.

As she took her place among the small gathering of people she bristled. Abraxas Kemp. Head of the MLE, she was pretty sure. A memory stirred in her mind. June Brooks. Elle had helped a professor save that girl while the MLE did nothing but get in their way. She smoothed the skirt of her tunic once more and repressed the snarl that had risen in her throat. Now wasn't the time for rebellion. Now was the time for peaceful compliance, for laying in wait while the sparks of an uprising began to catch fire. Elizabeth Kennedie plastered her picture perfect half-smile on her face and evenly looked up at Kemp, waiting for further instruction.

"Well," said Kemp, "I suppose we'll begin. Anyone one else arriving will just have to do their best to keep up."

Abraxas stepped forward to address the students. He was vaguely aware of one of his sixth-year DADA students, a read-headed girl--Kennedie was her name--was staring up at him. Another red headed girl was, undoubtedly, a Weasley. Her father lost his job recently--well, he quit. He headed one of the surviving departments that were being absorbed into the MLE. Apparently, he got cold feet and resigned before the takeover. The Weasley's were poor to begin with. Kemp wondered if she knew about her father, and if she resented him. He knew well enough that there were a number among this group who had come, not out of a willingness to learn from him, but out of some sick curiosity born of their dislike of him.

"I am Abraxas Kemp, head of Magical Law Enforcement, more commonly referred to these days as the 'MLE,' and you are here, by my invite, or your own interest, to be part of a new club: The Junior Auror Academy. Our mission is to promote better personal defense in these dark times, using new defense tactics designed to meet the demands of today's dark wizards. In here, we will learn theory, we will mostly work hands on--and, yes, that means we will draw wands on each other, and we will duel on occasion. This isn't your usual Defense class at Hogwarts. We're here to learn what we're up against and practice how to defend ourselves against it. You're here to meet and befriend people in the business of defense in order to learn from them and, perhaps, even gain some connections within the MLE. that could benefit you down the line. Even your friends here can be valuable connections in the future. You never know.

"In this club, we will get our hands dirty. In this club, we will use magic to attack and defend against one another. In this club, there is a good chance most of you will be injured at some point. It will be difficult, it will taxing, and it will be somewhat dangerous; and if any of you are having second thoughts about this, I advise you to leave now. We meet on Wednesdays."

Abraxas drew his wand and flicked it over his shoulder at the desk behind him, levitating a piece of parchment up off the desk, moving it across the room to remain suspended in the air in front of him.

"This," said Kemp, "is a contract. It states clearly that whatever goes on here is a secret. As members of this club, you are treated just like a younger set of auror trainees at the Academy. Just like real trainees, you will be privy to some information, some tactics, some spells that we don't want the wrong people hearing about. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not sign, and, trust me, if you reveal any of the goings on here to outsiders, we will find out. Standard procedure, really. Nothing that an Academy student would have to do. Again, if you've second thoughts, now would be a good time to leave."

With that, Kemp waved his wand, causing the contract to float over to the first student to await his or her signature.

Elle listened to Kemp with slightly pursed lips and crossed arms. Though she kept her eyes and her face carefully controlled, the air around her was charged with her prickling irritation and disdain. At the end of his speech Elle couldn't help but feel impressed. He had certainly made his intentions clear. In any case, she would have to grit her teeth through his antics and learn what she could; regardless of his beliefs, the man and his army of drones could teach her valuable lessons, lessons that she would undoubtedly need later in life when she became a real Auror.

Looking around at the others she noticed that no one had yet stepped forward. She tipped her chin up a bit higher and stepped forward, her eyes trained steadily on Kemp.

"Alright then. Ladies first, I suppose."

She gave him a smirk and scrwaled her looping, feminine signature on the parchment. And then it was done. Elle Kennedie had signed her life away to Abraxas Kemp. Well, at least her Hogwarts life. She knew that most of her time belonged to him now. Even so, Elle was confident that she had made the right choice. She turned away from him and circled around to stand at the back of the group, closest to the door.

While waiting for people to come, Athena grabbed some food from the other table and munched them all up on one go. Gosh, she was so hungry. Now that her tummy's temporarily filled, she could now concentrate on the things ahead of her. She sat back down and smiled at everyone. The other students might think she was weird. Being alone in that meeting was rather horrible; she couldn't bear being alone.

Jack Desmount entered the room and smiled at her! Athena stopped herself from squeeling. She looked at him from under her eyelids and simply smiled.

From the moment everyone went quiet, Athena gave her full attention to Kemp. She understood every single word he said. It was as bad as she was expecting: risking her life and all that. But for Athena, that didn't matter. The Bellchambers family was a brave family and they would never back out on anything they have prepared themslves for. Athena's heart was beating so fast when Kemp lifted a piece of parchment for them to sign. Athena gulped as she stood up.

Walking towards the front of the classroom was even hard for Athena. No, she was not going to get scared. Everything was fine and she should do what she needed to do for Hogwarts, and for the safety of the Wizarding World. Athena held her head up high and walked towards Kemp. She took the quill with shacking hands and smoothly signed the paper. Athena felt relief and comfort as she stood upstraight again. From now one, she knew that she wouldn't be the same Athena Bellchambers anymore.

The girl who signed before her, Elle Kennidie, of what her name Athena have recalled, also stood still. She was also in Ravenclaw; it meant Athena wasn't alone. 'This is so killing me. I'm Athena by the way. I hope you knew me as we are in the same house group.' Athena grinned at the girl.

Elle gave Athena an empty smile; this girl..she seemed so pleased to throw herself under Kemp's thumb, which could only mean that she had no idea what the man was really like. It sent a chill down Elle's spine. People like that were exactly what he needed: naive, unspoiled minds that he could fill with all the wrong ideas. But Elle wouldn't be the one to break it to her. She would have to find out for herself Abraxas Kemp's true character. She figured it wouldn't take long.

"Right. Athena. Yeah, I know I've seen you around before. I'm Elle, but I'm guessing you knew that already."

Elle resumed her gazing around the room at the others, wondering if each of them understood the gravity of their situation. Certainly some of them did, judging by their looks of fear or resentment. But she feared for the others, the ones that genuinely wanted nothing more than to please the MLE and be their loyal little slaves. It made her sick to her stomach, but she supposed there was only so much she could do given her age and whatnot. For now she would have to settle for hating Kemp from afar and planning great change.

An inward smirk sprung from his lips as his dazzling smile hit right on his target. The cute girl from Ravenclaw. Her meek movements were extremely subtle and easy to ignore, but they didn't get past him as she sneaked a glance at him from the corner of her eye. Who knew catching the hearts of marvellously attractive Ravenclaws could soften a hard and angry heart - courtesy of one stupid git and his relentless stupidity and anger.

Kemp spoke up and he glanced back at the figure, pursing his lips tightly in a serious manner. When is came to the Head of Magical Law Enforcement, it was all business and no time for sweet talk. Well, at least when he's talking. Jack listened carefully, slouching on the front edge of the seat with his hands folded sternly, his lips curving at every grave comment about the Junior Auror Academy work. He lived for the danger and the edge. Whatever Kemp throws at him, he'll hit it straight back. Taking long strides, he moved up to the parchment and signed his name in a quick motion. He placed the quill down and moved a few desks back to where that cute girl from Ravenclaw was sitting with another Ravvie,

"Hey girls," Jack nodded curtly to the Ravenclaws, his voice drowned with his charming casualness as he gave a warm smile to the two of them. Jack bit a lip as he glanced at Kemp before looking back at them. He didn't want to attract any attention from him. " I'm Jack by the way. From Gryffindor... enjoying Kemp yet?" Jack asked sarcastically, smirking to himself as he glanced at the two girls.

Ginny was a little reluctant to sign the paper. It felt like she was giving her life up to the Ministry. Although she knew it was nothing that dramatic, it still seemed a bit sketchy.

She was still deliberating a bit and was about to consider leaving when Elle Kennedie stood up and was the first to sign the paper. There was no way Ginny was going to get one-upped by that girl again. She was going to sign, and damn it, not even think about the consequences.

She stood with her chin up and strolled to the front of the room. Another Ravenclaw girl Ginny didn't know finished signing, and she took out a quill of her own and signed her name in the most flowery penmanship she could.

There. Now it didn't matter what would come of it. She'd signed the paper.

'That's cool. I didn't know anyone knew me at all!' Athena was trying to be bubbly and awesome, but she was epicly failing. She was a bit fidgety from signing the parchment. She wasn't scared, she was just nervous. Who wouldn't get nervous when someone warned you that you have a chance of dying on something you have signed up for? Athena shrugged the thought. She was supposed to be proud and happy about all this sign up thing, but why didn't this feel alright? She sighed. She looked back to Elle. 'You know, I've been really keen to be part of this before but... It just feels weird that I'm already in...' she trailed off as she whispered to Elle. Why was she being nervous? She needed to stop all those crap thoughts. Athena needed a distraction.

Speaking of distraction... Jack Desmount just approached her and Elle. Athena smiled. Now was the great time for a good distraction. 'I know too well who you are, Jack. I bet you don't know me. Just in case you really don't I'm Athena Bellchambers.' She chuckled. 'I bet you know my step-cousin? Leighton Fairchild? I've seen you guys together one time.' Athena stopped herself before she could give too much detail. 'Sorry... I didn't mean to go saaying things about your life..' Athena apologized as she bowed her head down. Epic fail, Athena. Epic fail. He won't like you anymore.

'Enjoying Kemp yet?'

'No. At least I don't really want to. There are better thing to enjoy around here.' Athena replied. She didn't know what she was doing. Would she really do this to herself? Flirt with Jack and hope for something?

Addie froze at Kemp's comment. A contract, of course. What could she do? Kemp would be suspicious if she walked out... But the repercussions of breaking the contract worried her, and she knew she'd be breaking it.

Addie hung back, waiting for the others to sign while she weighed her options.

Abraxas noticed one girl's hesitation and addressed her.

"What are you waiting for, Miss Lumineux?" he asked, "Sign it. Or don't and leave us. I don't care which."

Kemp, of course, knew Miss Lumineux, too. Her mother worked for Ministry until her untimely death at the hands of a Knight. It was no surprise, then, that she was here. Her father still works for the Ministry--what is left of it. The Lumineuxs were valued pure blood members of the community. It was a tragic, really, what happened to Celia.

Rozalia glanced around at the students from her place just behind Abraxas' left shoulder. She wore a small, encouraging smile, silently willing each and every one of them to come up and sign that damn sheet of paper. Not a single one of their faces escaped her notice: the long haired ginger that signed first, the timid-looking mouse of a girl that went after her, the Weasley bitch--she would certainly be trouble--the jock-type chatting up the ginger and her friend...each and every one of them registered in her mind. Rozalia wanted all of them, every fresh young face, every ounce of keen talent, as close to her as possible. The closer they allowed themselves to get to her, the closer they became to Azariah and the easier they would be for the Knights to use.

Yes, every child could be trained, taught to do exactly what they were told. Soon they would be taking their places in the Ministry as Aurors and MLE officials. And by then, Azariah would already have seeped his way into their minds, the way he had for all of the Knights. It was beautiful, an incredibly life changing experience.

But while Rozalia was absorbed in her thoughts Kemp was standing there bossing around the poor children. She suppressed a scowl, forcing herself to smile sympathetically at the students. She took a careful step forward and whispered in Kemp's ear, the last traces of her Hungarian accent giving her words a slightly sensual and intriguing tone.

"With all due respect, sir, perhaps intimidation is not the best way to earn their trust..?"

As Kemp waited for Miss Lumineux to make up her mind, he felt someone's presence grow closer, smelled some foreign perfume. A whisper in his ear that seemed to last long after his Lieutenant stopped speaking.

"With all due respect, sir, perhaps intimidation is not the best way to earn their trust..?"

Kondracs. Kemp didn't like her. Respected her talent. Perhaps even secretly resented her for it in tandem with her beauty. Though he respected the talents of female agents, and he knew they had their uses as much as any wizard, Kemp could not help but feel as though he would rather have Claus or someone in the position of Lieutenant. Yes, a wizard rather than a witch. Did he feel threatened? He told himself it was not so. Still, she was next in line for the job after Abraxas vacated it. He couldn't have her replaced without just cause. Yes, he was the head of the MLE, and, therefore, the head of the entire Wizarding population of the United Kingdoms. He could do whatever he wanted, but Abraxas was smart. Better not to cause a stink. She was far too useful, and far too good at her job to be replaced. Rozalia Kondracs could be the MLE's token bitch as long as she wanted to be.

But he still didn't like her.

"With all due respect, Lieutenant," said Kemp, "I do not believe in giving anyone a false impression of what I expect. If they want to learn how to be aurors, they will be treated like aurors as part of it. My dealings with these students are in no way different from my dealings with you or anyone else under my command."

With an icy stare, Kemp locked eyes with Rozalia, waiting for her to stand down before he returned his attention to the students. Did she not understand how important it was to gain the support of Hogwarts if it was to be their base of operations? They needed a safe place from which to govern and protect. No where else was safer, after all, unless, you were like Barrabas and you made enemies wherever you went. Abraxas would not repeat Barrabas' mistakes. Bitch or no bitch.
