Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

It had been a straight sprint from the doors leading out of the Entrance Hall to the Forbidden Forest. Amera entered swiftly, and hopefully without any detection. This little section of the forest was empty, but that information was unnecessary. Amera's only job was to get as far as she could in the next hour. Her power would rest on the fear of the monster within her. Her motivation - on hiding the truth. It still held true, not a soul knew of the state she would soon enter. Amera didn't think it was necessary to inform them.

Thus, Amera ran. Ran through the area most students feared. The only reason she ever stopped would be to take a sip of her water, or a bite of whatever useless food she had brought. It was never enough to fill her. The Hufflepuff's stomach still growled with the lust she so desperately attempted to squash. The late afternoon wasn't unusual. A little chilly, a bit dark, especially lonely. Monsters didn't have friends. Only the innocent deserved a friend in a time like this. Certainly not something Amera was longing for...it was too dangerous. She was too dangerous.

As soon as she felt she had ran enough, Amera plopped down on a fallen tree deep within the forest and waited.

Waited for the monster to arrive...

Amera soon grew bored of waiting. The wait so far followed its usual chain of events. Amera had arrived ok, and she had sat down at the usual log. Now, she was growing impatient. Amera didn't want to turn into a werewolf. But the transition could hurry up and arrive after building up all month. It was getting annoying. So, instead of staying put - as she intended to - Amera got up from the partially burnt log and began pacing.

It was too bad she didn't bring homework along. Not that she'd have much time to do it. It took her a while in the morning just to find her way back to the log. Still, it would be nice to have a distraction from her impending doom. The moon was calling her name all too rudely. Moons could be very rude.

OOC: Doesn't really count as a double post, does it? Nobody else would be posting, anyways. If so, let me know!

There was one thing about Autumn which bothered Amera. The sun didn't shine as long in the day. From Autumn to Winter the days grew shorter and colder. It wasn't Amera's idea of proper weather. Long days, sunshine or rain - as long as there wasn't much snow on the ground it was nice. Amera had grown used to England's warm weather through her years at Hogwarts. Rain was the next best thing. Today, however was not good weather. The sun had gone down, and it wasn't even 7 o'clock.

At this point, Amera had stowed her stuff underneath the log. She didn't have any use for it. The sun was down, and she was surrounded by twilight. Any minute the hell would start. Amera wanted to get to the moon. NOW. Well, she didn't. But her body was screaming. She could feel the burn in her skin, the tingle in the back of her head. The monster wanted to escape, and it wanted to now.

Frustration gripped her sides like a punch in the gut. Amera swayed in the effort to remain in the shadows. The moon had just broken through the clouds, and it was demanding her presence. No! She had to fight it as long as possible. Who knew what would happen if she just walked a few feet? Transitioning was unavoidable. But Amera had done worst things in the past. To innocent people. Far worst things.

Hopefully, being in the middle of the forest would help. Amera hadn't killed anyone yet. To be fair, she had only transitioned a few times her sixth year. Each time was worst than the last. A few 4th years nearly stumbled upon her existence during the last cycle. Amera didn't remember much, but she recalled a conversation in the hallway after the incident.

"I'm glad we got out of there when we did. Sounded like some sort of animal, didn't it Ralph?" The speaker was a Slytherin, and he had snuck out in the middle of the night with a few friends. Amera considered taking points away until his friend spoke.

"That was some scary shit, Theodore. I vote we stay out of the forest for a while." At this point, Amera had paused with a jolt. Obviously they had visited the forest during her last transition. She couldn't yell, even if she was a prefect. It wasn't their faults. Nearly being killed was enough punishment...

The pain had become unbearable. If she didn't move, she would explode. It had to stop, it needed to stop, it was going to stop. Amera lunged out of the shadows and into the moonlight. Immediately the symptoms stopped, but the pain kept going. A different pain, from a different cause.

Amera screamed as she felt her clothes rip. She always wore the outfits she didn't have much love for. They had to make due in the morning when she repaired them. The irish woman wasn't amazing at stitching them back together. But it was the best chance she had. Nobody needed to know of her absence. This wasn't an issue at the moment.

No, Amera was screaming in pain. The moonlight crept through her eyes and into her soul. It had filled every crevice within her. The monster was ripping apart her insides. Amera lost all sense of herself as it took over. She was the monster now. Her insides burst into pieces as she began to grow. Her shoes had already been thrown off. Pain shot up her arms as they lengthened, her hands shaking for mercy. Claws forced their way out of her fingertips. They bit her nails like a knife.

The screaming grew weaker as the transition progressed. Fangs had now been produced, as did the fur. Amera's suffrage caused the monster to grow. With one swift motion, the monster shot up like a rabbit. Amera's doubts had left her mind. In fact - all thoughts were gone. Instinct had taken over her mind. With one breath, the scents of many creatures filled her soul. Hunger shot through her stomach, and Amera growled. It was time to hunt.

With a howl, the Merewolf was born.

OOC: Ugh, major suckage.
