Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Mary and Winnie walked out on to the grounds and braced themselves for the cold weather they knew was there. Marion sort of felt stupid now for changing into her costume. It only made her colder. Still everyone else was dressed up too so she figured she might as well bear it.

There were a few students outside. Some were playing games, others were in groups just socializing. Mary noticed that one group was playing cards, and she was sure they were kind she knew as the pictures on them weren't moving Marion herself was never good at cards and she was still sometimes surprised to see Muggle objects and activitess around Hogwarts. As she kept walking she hugged herself even tighter hopen she could warm herself up a bit. As they made there way outside, Mary and Winnie had kept up small talk about the nights festivities and now that she was outside she almost forgotten why they left common room in the first place. Then suddenly she remembered.

Suddenly she stopped walking and pug her hands in her pockets. "So what's the matter now," she asked, as she made some kicking motions with her feet. Marion wondered why Winnie had brought up Paton. They were all friends but something was obviously wrong if Winnie needed to talk about it. "Do I need to go kick somebody's butt?"

Though Winifred had donned her warmest coat and thickest scarf she hadn't been expecting such a cold and bitter chill as she stepped outdoors. Winter weather was drawing nearer and the blonde wasn't exactly the biggest fan of the season. The atmosphere was exciting but the weather was pure torture. Her gaze wandered to the two Slytherins for a few moments before she looked back to Marion when she stopped and spoke. There would never be a good time or way to say what she was about to say, so Winnie supposed she just speak before she over-thought it. She rubbed her hands together and then stuffed them back in her pockets, warm under the weight of her brown coat and gloves.

She took in a deep breath, ready to spill out the words to her friends. Before she spoke she let out a laugh. "No, there's no need to kick anyone's butt I assure you," Winnie responded, stalling. The blonde shifted and bounced up and down a little bit in the cold, keeping active so she could stay warm. "So I've had this mini crush on," Winnie paused for a moment, glancing around her before proceeding, "Paton for a short while." She was admitting this for the first time. Winnie didn't usually tell anyone who she liked besides Mary, but it took her a while to even share it with her. "In Defense Against the Dark Arts today Sandy and Paton and I were sitting together and you know how that Inferius thing smelled bad and the whole thing was terribly frightening? Well Paton gave me flowers to drown out the smell," Winnie recalled with a small smile. "Then he gave some to Sandy, though. Anyway, he and Sandy were holding hands during lunch and talking and laughing and stuff," Winifred said, her smile slowly turning to a disgusted frown.

Sighing, Winnie shook her head. "I guess I can only be described as undeniably jealous and irrational," Winnie reasoned. "I know I'm being completely... envious. It seems like Sandy gets like every guy," Winnie finished. She glanced down at the ground realizing what she had said sounded even more stupid when it had come out of her mouth. Winifred hated this feeling, the whole thing. Sandy was her friend after and she shouldn't be mad at her friend for getting a cute and sweet boy that she also liked. Winnie glanced up from the ground to see Mary's reaction.

Mary listened as her friend talked about seeing her crush with another girl. Maybe it was she was just being jealous but Mary figured she would be too if she saw the guy see liked holding hands with another girl. And talk about mixed signals, she thought. Flowers for one girl then flirting with another. Mary didn't know the whole situation so she was trying hard not to judge the guy too harshly. As Winnie finished talking, Marion scrambled her brain for some advice. Usually she was pretty good at it, but when it came to guys, well that was another story. Mary didn't trust guys to begin with so she's was never very good at understanding them. Sure, she had a few crushes and short relationships but it was nothing to cry about for her.

"I'm sure it was nothing. I mean everyone knows Sandy is just really friendly. And she doesn't get every guy. " Mary said, hoping that would reassure Winnie. "And so what if you're being envious. Everyone gets jealous now and then. Maybe you should just talk to her about it. ...Or you could talk to Paton." She threw that last one out there but she wasn't sure how her friend would react. Mary thought that Winnie should just be honest with him but she knew it was easier said then done. Mary herself probably couldn't do it. Not without a little encouragement anyways. With a smile, she put a hand on Winnie's shoulder, and said happily, "Don't worry. It'll all work out."

Talking to Cassandra was the last thing Winnie wanted to do right now and talking to Paton just seemed out of the question. Winnie didn't want to come off as desperate or jealous and anything she said to him would sound that way. She didn't like dealing with crushes and jealousy and all the confusion that came along with it. Winnie wasn't the type of girl who could easily tell someone how she felt about them and being around guys generally made her feel nervous. "I'm sure it will," Winnie finally said in agreement. She knew Mary was trying to reassure her, but everything Marion said had already crossed her mind and she didn't feel any different towards the situation than she had moments before.

"Mary, who do you have your eyes set on?" Winifred asked her casually, bringing this topic up as if it was completely natural. She wasn't sure if Marion liked anyone at the moment. They were the best of friends but they both seemed to be more cautious when talking about these things, at least the way Winnie saw it. She couldn't recall seeing Marion with anyone consistently. She had been with Bennett that morning at lunch, but Winnie had been too distracted by Sandy making googly eyes at Paton and vice versa to notice that.

Marion felt bad that her words couldn't comfort her friend as much as she'd hoped it would. It was unrealistic to think it would anyways, but Marion was naive about it sometimes and still hoped anyways. Whatever happened, she hoped that the situation would figure itself out so Winnie could either be happy or move on. Mary was about to ask another question when Winnie already brought another topic.

"Mary, who do you have your eyes set on?"

The question caught Mary off guard and she started coughing as if she had taken a drink too fast. After she the coughs subsided, Mary looked down at the ground and tried to figure out how to answer. There really was no one. There was a Hufflepuff but she couldn't remember his name and she had never really talked to him either. She figured he was probably not her type anyways. And there was the one she tried not to think about. The one that was off limits. Way off limits. One that she wouldn't, couldn't, tell Winnie about. William...Winnie's brother. Ever since they became friends and Mary had been introduced, she had a crush on William. She knew he didn't think about her that way but she couldn't help how she felt. Maybe one day when she was over him, she could laught about it and tell Winnie but as for now she didn't want to make things awkward.

"Oh you know me. I like to keep my options open, she said jokingly. "But I guess if we're being serious here, then at the moment...no one. But I am ok with that. I mean who knows, maybe I'll get swept off my feet at the bash tonight." She hardly doubted that would happen, not because she didn't think that a guy wouldn't be interested, not that was thought highly of herself either, but she wasn't the type to fall so easily.

Winifred took slow steps forward as they talked but stopped dead in her tracks as Marion began coughing. She wasn't sure if it was because of her question or if Mary had swallowed her spit and it went down the wrong pipe or what had happened. "Are you all right?" Winifred asked concerned, putting her hand on her friends back as if to offer some comfort. The blonde stopped coughing after a few moments but still stalled before answering the question, making Winnie wonder whether the answer she got was the truth or not. Either way, she nodded at Mary's response and decided to believe her.

The topic wasn't one Mary seemed too fond of so Winnie didn't keep pressing for any more answers. "So you are going tonight?" Winnie said. Her only concern now was that Sandy would be there with Paton and she wouldn't be able to pretend that she was okay with that. Either way, she didn't plan on letting Paton and Sandy ruin her evening when they'd already ruined her lunch period by just being there. Winnie would have guessed that Mary would be going, but she wasn't positive.

"I figured I might as well. It'll probably be fun. If not, I can always leave early." Mary wasn't big on school activities but for some reason she hoped that this one would be one she would have fun at. Mary could be a negative person at times but that didn't mean she didn't like to have fun. "I'm going as Tinkerbell. Peter Pan used to be my favorite movie growing up." Then Mary realized that Winnie might have no idea what she was talking about. Winnie was halfblood but that didn't mean she grew up with muggle stories and movies like Mary did. "The boy who never grew up. Sometimes that idea doesn't seem so bad," Mary said seriously. She shook the thought away from her head as she was trying to get excited for the night. "What are you going as?"

If things weren't going well or Paton and Sandy were too hard to watch any longer Winifred was comforted by the thought that she could indeed leave early. Dances were always fun, yet awkward for the blonde. She enjoyed them but she could never build up the nerve to ask anyone to dance or anything. Winifred's dancing was interesting. Her dancing skills were pretty much nonexistent and she didn't really like dancing in front of everyone because of that fact. She hated to embarrass Marion with her sporadic movements. "I guess I'll go," Winnie mused, imagining what horrible things the night would hold.

The name Tinkerbell was not a familiar one for the blonde and she raised an eyebrow when it was said. "Tinkerbell?" she repeated. She character sounded cute. "I guess I'll see who she is tonight," Winnie said. Sometimes it was difficult going to school with children who were from what seemed a completely different world. Sometimes Marion seemed to be speaking a completely different language. Winifred was raised by a wizard. Her muggle mother had died when she was born and she had never really even gotten a glimpse of muggle life. "Doesn't sound so bad at all, really."

"I'll probably go as a princess or some other generic thing," Winnie said in response with a smile. She wasn't too creative and she did love to slip on a frilly dress and have an excuse to fancy herself up a bit. She had been in her costume earlier at breakfast and had changed since then, but wasn't sure Marion had seen it yet. The pale blue poofy dress looked lovely with her skin tone and blonde hair. Winnie practically had dressed up as a princess for Halloween since she was about two years old.

A princess. Marion had mixed feelings on the title. Mary was read many fairy tales about them growing up yet for some reason she never warmed up to the idea. Even at a young age, Mary could see the world for what it was. She always had a hard time believing that handsome, rich guy would rescue the day and all her problems would be solved. Still Mary sometimes found herself wishing it could happen, even if it wasn't as extreme as the tales. There were other times though when she wondered why couldn't the princess just save herself? She knew that she would be plenty capable. Though when Winnie questioned who Tinkerbell was, she wondered what kind of stories she was read as a child and what their princesses were like.

"Well I can't wait to see what your costume looks like," she said genuinley, "Who know's maybe you'll meet Prince Charming too." Mary wasn't sure how deep Winnie's crush was for Paton but maybe meeting someone else could determine how she really felt about it. "I'll make sure not to stand to close to you. Knowing my dance moves I'll probably scare everyone away!" Even if they both didn't meet some guy tonight, Mary hoped that they would have enough fun to distract them from thier problems for at least a little while. Mary laughed then thought deeply for a moment, "Though I can't imagine all the drama that will go on tonight..." Anyone with common sense knew what teenagers could be like and when they all got together in the same room...well it could be pretty chaotic.

Winnie smiled. "I can't wait to see yours either," she said, trying to imagine this Tinkerbell. She laughed at what she said next. Yeah right. "That's a good one, Mary," Winnie responded, trying to picture who Prince Charming would even be in her mind. Sure there was Paton, but Winnie wondered if she only liked him because he liked Sandy and she was trying to compete or something. After all, she couldn't exactly explain to herself why or when she started liking him.

Winnie rolled her eyes, looking at Mary. "You know I can't dance either. We should pretend we can dance together," Winnie suggested, not knowing who else she would hang out with that night anyone. She didn't want to spend time with Cassandra right now being so jealous of her and all. It just wouldn't end well she knew. Winnie prayed Cassandra would just stay away from her and Paton too, but that clearly wasn't going to happen.

Drama. That would be the best word to describe the night Winnie was sure. Dances at Hogwarts always had drama. Dances involving teenagers always had drama whether at Hogwarts or not. That was just life for teenagers. "I don't even want to think about that," Winnie said, rolling her hazel eyes at the thought. When you mixed Slytherins and Gryffindors you definitely did you get drama.

Sommer sauntered slowly into the common grounds of Hogwarts, leaving the rest of her fellow classmate take up divintation. She still held the mask for Halloween feast, now uncertain if she will be attending the event, Sommer played with the mask at hand. "little mask, little mask.." she said almost singing to herself. "if only you were a mask with words.." she continue to say again, her voice fill with harmony, if harmony truly was with her. She didn't know why she was behaving this way, maybe it was just the time of year that sort of brought her down.

Taking more steps away from the school, Sommer ended somewhere by the lake. A cold day to be out here, but without much worries the young girl sat down, her robe protecting Sommer from the scratchy glass. It won't be long till her next lesson came up, for now she sat enjoying the scenery about her. Despite the chilling wind and hardly sun out, she stuck it out for a while. Praying an hour outside would do her some good.

Marion was about to make a smartass comment about Slytherins when she saw a student rush by mumbling something about a lesson. The only one she knew of that had already started was Divination. Then Marion remembered. Apparition was today! Marion had definitely forgotten about it but figured there was still time to make it. She looked at Winnie with a desperate expression.

"I completely forgot that there is an Apparition lesson today! Are you planning on going? If you are we should hurry to the Great Hall," Marion said, speaking quickly and a little mumbled.

Winifred crossed her arms over her chest, shivering from the cold as the two continued to walk. Winnie was concerned when Mary turned to her. She was about to ask what was wrong when Marion said something about Apparition. Blast. Winnie had forgotten about that as well. "I'm so glad you said something," Winifred responded as she swiveled around on her heels and looked back towards the castle. She figured they still had a bit of time, but not much. "Let's go then," she said, talking quick strides towards the castle.

Though she had been eager to learn how to apparate in the past, the thought scared her. There was many things that could go wrong and Winnie was afraid that she wouldn't be able to practice the proper procedure. Then again, when did Winnie not worry about something? She glanced at Marion momentarily with a small smile before the two made their way into the castle.

Time flew as Amera engaged in mindless chatter with Nicole. So much time, that Amera didn't realize how dark it was getting. The full moon would be out in maybe an hour. Either way, the Hufflepuff didn't have much time to get herself situated deep in the forest. With a slight panic, she said her good-byes to the Ravenclaw before sprinting back to the castle.

I'm Meri. , This is my story.

Paton Raye
Deceased

The sun outside the castle was blindingly bright, but did not seem to have any effect on the temperatures, which had dropped noticeably over the past few weeks. Paton nodded cordially to Winnie and Marion as he passed them, leading Sandy onto the grounds.

The cold was not the only hint that winter was approaching. In the distance, Paton spotted the infamous Whomping Willow. The tree was now bare, surrounded by a heap of its own leaves. None of the strange and exotic birds that were native to Hogwarts were anywhere to be seen. In fact, there was not much life or color on the grounds aside from the two Hufflepuffs.

"I didn't realize it'd be this damn cold," Paton commented. As he spoke, his breath turned into little wispy clouds and floated up to the sky. "I should've brought another layer." He was having second thoughts about the dungeon now.
