Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

The Great Hall; Year 6 - Day 2 - Divination

Marcus entered the Great Hall quickly only stop to nervously scan the hall. No, Carter hadn't arrived yet. Marcus wondered where he was. Had he run into trouble? Should Marcus go look for him instead? What did Carter have planned for today? These thoughts and more were swirling around Marcus' head. Marcus looked at his watch then let out a breath of relief. Carter wasn't late, Marcus was just early. Then again, there wasn't a set time for their meeting but Marcus always was keen on being early. Marcus found a bench to sit on and stretched out. With no one around, Marcus could finally let down his guard for a bit. Sometimes he could overreact when it came to his friends, though never in front of them.

As he was waiting, he noticed a cute girl walk by. He liked what he saw but shook those thoughts away. He never considered a girl without knowing her background first. If they weren't to his standards he wouldn't even bother. He wasn't picky, like he told his friends, but expected pure blood status as well approval from his friends. He sometimes wondered, what kind of girls were outside his expectations.

Marcus yawned then scanned the room once more. "Where is this guy...?

Carter walked into the Great Hall with his usual swagger. He was meeting Marcus there and he decided to attend because, one - he was bored and two - he really did not want to be in someone's presence where they'd challenge him into a verbal joust. It was getting old and bland. He also wanted to get away from Janice as fast as he could, something about desperate girls wanting to get freaky in bed with you, turned him off. He liked his girls headstrong, fierce and out of reach. Which reminded him of someone...Rhodesface, what Leighton frequently calls her. Carter peered around the Great Hall, there were hardly anyone there, they had either gone to Divinations or somewhere else around the castle. Oh well, Carter did prefer a place that wasn't infected with dirty mudbloods.

"Moore," Carter simply stated, walking towards Marcus when he spotted him. As always, Marcus was fashionably late. In contrast to himself, who always was late at every event, or sometimes never show up at all. Calmly, Carter sat down on the opposite side of Marcus and placed his arm on the table. Carter chortled to himself at the thought of Janice and Leighton in the same room. The very same Leighton who finds her own cousin useless and just annoying. The feeling was mutual with him.

Juliet strode into the hall balancing her paper, quill and jumper in her grip as she slid into a seat at the basically empty Gryffindor table. Her hair had half come out of it's mess style, and her shoes weren't properly on. But she was too focused on the note that she was meant to write and give to Jack and John.

Usually Juliet knew all the right things to say to a guy. Well the old her did, now every little word seemed forced. It was weird, but oddly a fufilling realization that she couldn't lie anymore. Not hugely handy at a time like this, but still a nice thought that she didn't want to be a maniplative bitch or whatever most of the girls at Hogwarts seemed to want to be.

Juliet flicked her quill around her cheek absently, as she opened her ink and dumped it lightly on the table, her jumper beside it. She was stumped. Juliet had no muse? Odd.

"Carter," Marcus said simply. He straigtened up looked at his friend and admired his confidence. Yet Carter seemed stuck somewhere between annoyed and amused. Marcus wanted to ask but figured he would find out sooner or later, whatever it was. Though unlikey, Marcus considered Carter one of his closest friends. Carter wasn't one to be about closeness or emotions. Still, Marcus considered him his close friend anyways. Time ticked by, and already Marcus was bored. No, small talk here.

"Today's a bit boring, don't you think. But you know we haven't picked on that second year in awhile," Marcus said with a smirk. Just then a Gryffindor walked in. Marcus didn't remember her name but he knew she had something to do with Carter. Marcus turned towards Carter, raised an eyebrow and nodded his head in the girl's direction. Maybe today wouldn't be so boring after all.

Carter stood silent, in his pompous posture, glaring at his surroundings with a bored expression pasted across his face. Even if he seemed cold and uncaring on the outside, Carter did enjoyed Marcus' company and he always suggested things to do to past the time. It was odd per say, that Carter did consider Marcus as one of his closest friends even if he followed Carter like a lost puppy. Something about him threw off that scent of a desperate boy, which made him look like someone who needed guidance. And Carter gave it to him, hence the admiration he had gotten from Marcus.

He watched as Marcus suggested that they pick on some second year Gryffindor. He made it seem like Carter knew who that girl was, even if he couldn't recall seeing her at all. Carter shrugged, feeling as bored as ever. Maybe pushing the kid down would be fun, who knows. "Definitely..." Carter agreed, nodding his head at Marcus' seemingly rhetorical question. Carter opened his mouth to signal the crushing of the second year when he found a familiar Gryffindor/Former slut walk past them. Carter smirked and turned to Marcus. He didn't know yet about Rhodes, but Carter didn't intend to tell her about it yet. Plus Marcus could use a lesson or about improvising. "Actually Marcus, I think we have got bigger fish to fry," Carter said, nodding to Rhodes on the Gryffindor table," Are you game Moore?"

Marcus could see the venom in Carter's glare when he acknowledged the girl, even if his face expressed amusement. Carter harldy ever cared what girls were doing or what they thought, but every now and then one would come along and get under Carter's skin, much to his denial. When Carter asked if he down for whatever ideas were in his head, Marcus had to roll his eyes. "Is that even a question?" he asked with a chuckle. "I thought you knew me by now." Though pathetic when said outloud, Marcus would always be behind what Carter wanted. It was one of Marcus' decent qualities. He was loyal, perhaps too much somtimes (as he really just follows his closest friends around for a good part of his day) but still no one could hope to get away with hurting someone if they were a friend of Marcus'.

But yes," he spoke, as his attention went back to the girl, "I think we should...make our presence known. After all she hasn't even said hello yet. It's very rude." Marcus always loved the excanged of witty and sarcastic banters he and Carter did. One area he was usually good at but he knew that it probably could be improved, especially around those who he didn't consider a friend. For them, the day just got interesting but the poor girl will probably wish she never entered the Great Hall that day.

Great Hall! Score. So perhaps 'lost' was a bit of an exaggeration. She had been nowhere near lost. Perhaps she had been being a bit of a drama queen. She felt better now, more positive. Nothing like sitting in a corridor to improve your mood. Curiously she poked her head into the room, scanning the area. In all honesty she had been expecting to find people and on first scan she hadn't noticed that many. Those she did notice she hardly recognized. Except for... what was his name again? The supposed repugnant Slytherin? Didn't matter. She had heard quite some things about him, but she wasn't normally one to listen to such stories, preferring to get her own first impressions. Besides, if they were unruly she could just leave. As of now, ironically enough, she was bored and looking for something to do. With that she calmly strode into the Great Hall, not quite sure what her intent was.

"Hey," She let the sentence linger for a while, as she wasn't really anywhere near the two boys or the girl she recognized as in her own year, "What's up?" And let them ignore her or answer her in any way they saw fit. It's not like she had a reputation to keep up. She was of course wondering at the phenomenon of so many people in the Great Hall with so many places in a castle to be... that were far more interesting. But she hadn't wanted to say all that at once. Perhaps if she was acknowledged she would say her name, till then she continued her scope of the Hall, probably looking a rather intimidating mixture of sullen and bored. After a moment her posture slumped into something more comfortable, she leaned casually on one leg a hand automatically taking rest upon a hip.

Carter merely nodded, getting up from the Slytherin Table and moving himself around the table so that he was standing next to Marcus. He peered over in Juliet's direction, she seemed like boring prey now. Like a towel, use and throw away. Maybe he'll get back his interest in aggravating her, but until then he'll just have to wait until he gets his muse back.

A girl, about the same year as him approached Carter and Marcus with a casual matter. Carter quirked an eyebrow, this could get interesting.

"Do you have an endorphin rush fetish? If not, just f*ck off," Carter asked calmly, wanting to see if she was one of those headstrong, witty girls who Carter constantly found amusing to piss off. Carter leaned on the bench next to Marcus and looked at him, "But if Marcus here can guarantee that you'll be entertaining, you may stay."

Marcus was ready to share one of his ideas for bothering the girl when a different one entered the hall. He hadn't thought anything of it until she walked up to him and Carter and started talking to them as if they were friends. She even asked what's up as if they were talking about the weather. He raised an eyebrow at her.

"Do you have an endorphin rush fetish? If not, just f*ck off,... but if Marcus here can guarantee that you'll be entertaining, you may stay."

Marcus smirked as his friend spoke bluntly. Carter was always like that and not afraid to say what was on his mind. Marcus found the reciepients reaction amusing and usually laughed at them. Then he turned his attention back towards the girl and looked her up and down. He faintly remembered seeing her somewhere else, the details he couldn't remember or cared about. She was pretty but she had yet to stand out to him. A Ravenclaw for sure, but Marcus did care about things like intelligance or creativity, unless it was for his personal gain. Still that didn't mean she couldn't hold their interest, well for a little while anyways.

Marcus circled around the girl with curious eyes. "It's Erin or something like that right" Marcus said mockingly, then yawned. He stopped walking until he was face-to-face with her and the distance between them was small. He couldn't help but notice that she was in fact very pretty but he wouldn't let that distract him "You see, my friend and I don't like to be bothered," he spoke fiercley, while nodding towards Carter, "In fact, we usually are the ones doing the bothering. So unless you can give me and him a reason why we should continue to acknowledge you then I would just keep walking." His words were harsh and he felt a tiny bit guilt over it but he wouldn't let it bother him and he definitley wouldn't let it show, not in front of Carter. Over the years he had lots of practice at hiding what he was truly feeling and by now was an expert at it.

f*ck off? She was more then happy to. It had been a jab at friendly conversation gone totally awry. It didn't hurt her, or throw her off. She had honestly been expecting it. Not so much the use of the word endorphin. In fact she had almost smiled when he said that. It was nice to know people could still be literate. Plus the threat seemed utterly ridiculous. Emirye supposed that it was impossible to have a pleasant conversation with such Slytherins- and she started turning to leave. She stopped and cocked an eyebrow as he continued. Entertaining? "Would you like me to dance around and do the hula? Or were you thinking of something more sophisticated?" The question wasn't particularly meant to be insulting, though she imagined it could be taken as so. If anything it gave them reason to 'pick on' her. But the thought of her being entertaining in general was... ludicrous. Her eyes shifted over to Marcus. The one she assumed was the lackey. The fact that he even remembered the first letter of her name was amazing- she had had no idea what his was. To her astonishment he started moving.

"Are you circling me, really?" A questioned filled with incredulity. She had felt oddly like a piece of meat. It was more disconcerting then annoying. He stopped, directly in front of her and she met his gaze, her eyebrow raised once more as she studied him studying her. He was gorgeous and... extremely close. To her utter annoyance she found herself having to focus on keeping her breathing steady. She scoffed, "Do you honestly think I need that explained?" Emirye was well aware of her situation, and the fact that Slythie boys didn't like having their time wasted. Or their egos stepped on. Not that she planned on doing anything like that. They were wasting their own time and she had better things to do then try to squash egos. And then, in spite of everything, she was grinning... however slightly. It was perhaps more of a smirk. They had nerve. But then again, so did she. What was proper etiquette on a situation like this? They had started being rude first, right? She had tried being friendly. "You have given me so much reason to want to continue to talk to you. What could I possibly do to prove myself?" Sarcasm wasn't really her thing, but she could pull it off rather nicely if she wanted to. And she had wanted to.

Her turn. Emirye took in a deep breath, "Try to keep up, will you?" And then she started; "You, Her glance shifted to Carter, but ultimately moved back to Marcus, "told me to leave, which I would have been more then happy to do. Only you changed your mind, and in doing so you are now the ones keeping me here." She took a small pause for breath, "So I really don't think it's my job to impress you at all." And let them chew on that one for awhile. It hadn't been too much, when she got going she could spin circles around most people. Her thought process was so strange, she often jumped from point to point. Worthy? She wondered if they had found her worthy, though she sensed them turning her argument into 'are you not trying to prove yourself with that speech' thing, if they didn't just leave. Which she would be fine with, good riddance. She wasn't sure why she was staying. Was she really that bored? Her eyes, which had been roaming between the two went back to the lackey.

As the girl was talking Marcus had to keep himself from snickering. The least he could do for her was at least pretend to be serious. She went on for awhile, talking about the this and that. Marcus wasn't really interested since he got her to do what he wanted which was to piss her off. She was clearly annoyed by the way she went off at him which only amused him more. Her anger actually made her kind of cuter he thought. They still hadn't moved apart and he never took his off hers. While she good too look at, his stare was more to make him look intense.

"You done yet?," he said stepping back, "That was quite a speech." He sat down on the bench near Carter and crossed his legs. He put elbow on his knee and rested his chin in his hand. "You really had me going there for a second. I mean you really got me," he spoke in a fake and mocking tone. She clearly didn't care but Marcus could never back down in a verbal fight. He turned to Carter with a teasing expression. "What do you think Carter? That was a pretty good preformance, no?" For him everything, from the way he acted in front of his friends to the words other people said, was always an act.

The girl started to smugly ramble on, it was obvious that she believed her reasoning and logic were her biggest weapons against the oh-so egoistic and pain seeking Slytherins. Something he found got her to fit right into the Ravenclaw stereotype. Carter turned to his one man entourage as he tried to stifle a laugh and maintain a cool demeanour, he stared with as much intensity as he could muster at the girl. Tilting his head, he watched the girl examine Marcus, she was intrigued and actually attracted to his supposed man-servant. Now this got Carter chuckling to himself inside, things just went up a notch, glancing back at Marcus to see if he returned the somewhat love-stuck glare. But alas, Marcus was someone who could show a completely different emotion on the outside as a facade than what he was feeling inside. That was the way of the Moore.

"Try to keep up, will you?...You, told me to leave, which I would have been more then happy to do. Only you changed your mind, and in doing so you are now the ones keeping me here. So I really don't think it's my job to impress you at all."

Carter sighed, looking at the Ravenclaw with an inward smirk. Yes, she fired the second bullet, only to be stopped by his retort. "Democracy, dear girl, is the virtue of mankind. I was merely asking Marcus if he wanted to crack the whip on the racehorse," Carter said, returning her jab with, oddly, the same friendliness as she displayed earlier. But with an intent to mock her.

"What do you think Carter? That was a pretty good preformance, no?"

"Hardly not, boredom became of me," Carter yawned lightly to himself." But, congratulations, you managed not to flinch or cringe during your most entertaining questionnaire. You may give yourself, a pat on the back," Carter softly smirk, crossing his arms and leaning back onto the table ledge. He always did find shooting verbal jabs at people amusing, destroying someone's dignity was always much more entertaining than playing Quidditch.

She sighed. They hadn't left yet. She supposed they wouldn't. Democracy? It wasn't the virtue of mankind, it was a load of utter crap. It had the potential to be the virtue of mankind if there was ever a true Democracy. One not rigged. Though starting in about Democracies would probably throw everybody off. Ah, here were the double meanings she associated with Slytherins constantly. Emirye couldn't stand them. Be up front about what you wanted to say, don't randomly start talking about racehorses and whips. What a strange attempt at mockery. And besides, bringing Democracy into an argument proved no point. "Irrelevant." Out of 3 people in a room, one wanted the other gone with the other happy to oblige. What did the third vote matter? Democracy was, after all, majority wins. She hoped she wouldn't have to explain herself, Carter seemed smart enough. Her eyes landed on Carter as she spoke, and found him giving her much the same intense, let's see who breaks first glare Marcus had been. She wondered if they practiced this prior in the Slytherin common room before they went out to terrorize people.

Emirye smiled at the two, "Come now, you haven't told me how to be more entertaining. What did you expect?" Marcus had stepped back first. Thank god. Their closeness had been suffocating. Though she felt tall now, being the only one standing out of the three. She found Carter to be... strange. She could only stay if she were found suitable yet he was so obviously bored. Why were they not telling her to leave? "I shall instead congratulate you. You managed to stay awake through the whole thing." Her entertaining questionnaire. Her tone remained as friendly as possible. Gaze shifted to Marcus. Had he intended his posture to resemble that of the thinking man? She doubted it, though that would be quite hilarious. Perhaps if his legs had been uncrossed she might have laughed.

"Am I to assume then that whilst still boring Carter I've passed your, uhm, test?" It seemed reasonable, they had stopped asking her to 'prove' herself and they hadn't told her to leave yet. Which was intriguing. Surely they had better things to do then talk to her. Or did they? They were after all just kids in school. There weren't that many options. The question was of course directed at Marcus, the one who had been considering if she were worthy. She found the thought silly in itself, but for conversations sake she figured she was inclined to ask. "Because the suspense is killing me." This conversation wasn't horrible in its entirety. So far, anyways. It made her think, made her debate... in a way. Plus she hadn't been killed yet, that was always a bonus.

"Am I to assume then that whilst still boring Carter I've passed your, uhm, test?"

"Test? This isn't a test, but I guess you wouldn't be a Ravenclaw if you didn't think that way. No, dear, I've think you've missed the entire point," he said laughing to himself. There was no point, he thought. No test, no nothing. Poor girl didn't seem to realize that she was nothing to them but a waste of time. Then he got serious. "We are obviously not leaving, yet you continue to stay here. No one's keeping you from walking out that door except yourself. So please don't think your special because we are still excanging words. We continue to talk with you merely because we're bored and what else is there to do? This at least keeps our attention for a little bit."

Marcus turned to Carter and gave him a look as if to say, honestly, some people. While he somewhat admired her confidence he still wondered if she ever heard of a thing called respect. After all, they weren't just anybody. If him or his friends didn't know someone, they obviously weren't worth getting to know. The fact he even recalled her name was a surprise to himself.

"So keep talking if that makes you feel better but then I wouldn't rule us not falling asleep quite yet," he spoke a little louder. He wasn't annoyed yet but he was getting there. This had nothing to do whether or not she knew what she was talking about it was the fact that she wouldn't stop talking. She didn't seem like she wouldn't back down. Still he always loved a challenge.

So contradictory! These boys were spinning the conversation around in circles. She of course had known there wasn't really any point to their conversation. Mindless jabber. She had been caught up on the whole worthy thing, still, and had been mocking them. Couldn't blame a sidekick for not catching a subtlety like that. Emirye merely shrugged. Certainly there were better ways for both groups to spend their time. Not to mention she had finally been given a proper queue to exit. Here they were finally saying, 'you can leave, stop talking, you're boring us' instead of all the nonsense they had gone through before. "Well, it has certainly been a pleasure." Emirye stated, rather casually. In all honesty, they had been keeping her here. Or more like, social etiquette. It would have been rude to just leave haphazardly. But did that rule not apply to people such as these? Perhaps the rule for people such as these was not to approach in the first place? A rule she might remember in the future. Unless she really felt the need to talk to a couple of assholes. Was this how Slytherins always communicated? No wonder they were always in such bad moods...

In all honesty she had grown bored of them too. Though she felt oddly satisfied, on some level she had annoyed Marcus. That was clear. However much he tried to hide it. "If only life were that simple." She snickered. "I imagine you would be better company were you sleeping." A small pause, yes, then his looks wouldn't be marred by the god awful comments that came out of his mouth, "But I don't care to stick around and find out." Emirye turned slowly, which was probably very brave of her. As one should never turn their back on an opponent. She wouldn't normally consider two students opponents... but the conversation had started with threats.

"Have a nice day." She offered a polite smile before exiting the Great Hall. Emirye might have gone with a more common 'see you later', but that seemed utterly laughable.

Carter was going to say something, but to his irritation Marcus spoke up before him. He frowned distastefully, nevertheless he let the boy speak his mind.

He certainly must of hit a button, as the Ravenclaw girl finally turned around and headed for the exit. And that was the end of a beautiful display of social necessities.

"Toodles," Carter's lips curved into a subtle smile of victory as he looked down. He spared a moment, leaving a silence in between, before standing up abruptly. "Unfortunately for you, the Great Hall is not a scene I'd like to present myself in anymore. Goodbye Marcus," Carter stood up and exited the hall.

Marcus was satisfied when the girl left but the feeling quickly left when Carter did. Great, he sighed. Well now at least he was free to do what he wanted. Still, he wasn't any less bored than before. He as well, left the Great Hall.

So Carter was back in the Great Hall. The very place he had just left from, the place he ditched Marcus. He didn't even know why he was back actually, his wandering led him here. There was a possibility he had just wanted to get away from Marcus, but he didn't think that was a valid reason as he did enjoy his presence most of the time. So there he was, loitering around the Slytherin table, sighing to himself as he gazed the room bored and yearning for something to do.

There was hardly anyone, save for a few second years chatting quietly in the corner of the room and Juliet Rhodes. But been there done that. He had gotten bored with her, to her luck. He watched curiously as she pondered to herself with a quill in hand. What was she trying to write that needed so much thought? It was just words. After a few minutes watching the girl, he decided it was time to rekindle his passion for pissing her off.

Getting up from the Slytherin bench, he swaggered over to the girl. He took a seat with a sigh and leaned back on the bench with a smirk pasted across his face. "Hello gorgeous," Carter said softly in her ear. He was hoping she's get annoyed by his personal space invasion. He looked upon the parchment and quirked en eyebrow. "I never knew erotica appeases you, hardly a substitute to my offer though. I am very disappointed Rhodes," Carter smugly chuckled.

Juliet glanced up and shuddered in annoyance at the voice that suddenly killed every romantic thought in her head. "Hmm wouldn't want my numerous supposed boyfriends to see all that affection Breslin, I have standards you see." She commented dryly as she dropped the quill in frustration and bent under the table to retrieve it.

"If I was going to get muse for erotic writing, I highly doubt you'd be one of the first I would go to see." Juliet commented as she picked up the quill and dropped it onto the table as she turned to glance at the Slytherin. "Do you even have any friends? I mean you spend so much time annoying me, it's a wonder you don't have prior social commitments seeing as how many pathetic naive girls were hanging off you earlier." She said with a quirked brow.

"You have standards now," Carter joked. He wondered whether it was possible to ever have a civil conversation with Rhodes. Although considering how much hate pulsing out of her and hitting Carter in waves of verbal jabs, a civil conversation was far off the agenda.

"You wound me up Rhodes," Carter replied dryly. Just as had thought, he was growing bored way to quickly. He looked at Juliet, she seemed to be tired of him as he was of her. "Yes I do, none of them which like your presence, hence their lack in appearance" Carter explained shortly already bored with this verbal joust.
