| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Aislinn McMullan was in a very bad mood. Having lugged all the books from her bedside cabinet down from the Ravenclaw tower to the fourth floor, she realised she had missed the few still left in her trunk. She had returned for them with a grumble; only upon reaching finally nearing the library for the second time did she recall the hidden passageway she had walked past at least three times. Stupid castle with its stupid corridors and steps and towers. The pile of books in her arms was of a height that made it impossible to see anything ahead of her; to be on the safe - or at least safer - side she had wound her scarf around her neck to stop it trailing around her feet, but the many links that curled around her upper torso were cumbersome and threatened to slip with every slight shift of her weight. With burning arms she rounded the final corner, too focused on her goal to notice the folds of wool that tumbled down to the floor as she did so. Her foot snagged in the fabric and brought her heavily to the floor; she landed on her elbow with an audible crunch as books and papers flew down the corridor. Typical. Just typical. Gingerly, she sat herself up and tested out her right arm: it moved stiffly, accompanied by a sharp pain that caused her to bite her lip to keep from crying out. She was dimly aware of a throbbing bruise forming on her temple and a trickle of something warm and glutinous where she could only assume one of the heavier tomes had clipped her. "Well, this is just brilliant." Grumbling a number of expletives under her breath, Aislinn tucked her right arm into the front of her jacket and began trying to gather things up with her left. |

Jarrette had been wandering the corridors like he normally did during the Divination period. He hadn't seen too many people around the corridors so far, so he figured he would head to the library today to study for Charms. His grades have been fair so far, but Charms had definitely still been his weak point. Eventually he knew he had to quit slacking. He wanted to be a healer after all, and if he couldn't get Charms down, he wouldn't be hired at all. If hired was the word. So far, he hadn't really run into anybody, which was good because he knew he didn't need a distraction. Although, a distraction may be helpful. Maybe he'd get lucky and run into Jules? His gray eyes had been scanning through his Charms book for a while now, but he realized he hadn't been taking in much. Too easily distracted today. He stopped walking and exhaled. After letting it play in his mind a couple times, he finally closed his book. That's when he saw Aislinn up ahead of him. She looked like she had a lot in her hand, and she was determined to get somewhere. He smiled and sped up to help her, but then the scarf she had wrapped around her fell. The boy reached out as she stepped on it and started to fall. It was a failed attempt, and her books and papers spread down the hallway. He heard a faint crunch and winced. Jarrette got down to help her back up. "Hey are you ok?" She had already started to collect her things that were right around her. "Here, let me he-" She had a small wound by her temple, and there was blood coming down from it. He took out his wand. "Hm, 7 1/3 inches, Honey suckle, Hippogriff talon. A strange combination. Hippogriff Talon will work wonders for you in Charms. The Honeysuckle though, a wood used less often for wand making, is not a hugely powerful wood. It's lightweight, so be careful not to pull it out very quickly, you may loose it. Though it should make Transfiguration easier." Good with Charms? Jarrette had no clue why this wand had picked him. Or at least that's what Mr. Olivander had said, right? "Hippogriff Talon will work wonders for you in Charms..." Right, Charms. He pointed the wand to the wound, "This is gonna get really hot first, then it'll get really cold." Or at least it should. He really hoped this worked properly, "Episkey." A light blue light came from the tip of his wand, and connected with the small wound and lit up the edges. The skin shifted back into place. The blood dried up and disappeared with the wound. "There!" He said, obviously pleased with his work. Confidence shown through his eyes, "Anything else I can take care of Miss McMullan?" He asked his friend excitedly. |

It took a moment for Aislinn to notice the footsteps in the corridor; she gave the figure a cursory glance but paid no attention to who it was. On realising they were approaching her she felt the tick of annoyance. Could they not just leave her to sort things out herself? "What do you want?" she snapped, more in her native brogue than the more tempered accent her British schooling had given her. "Can't you see I'm- oh, Jarrette. Hi." Her admonision broke off suddenly upon realising it was her friend. "Sorry," she gestured around herself with a sheepish expression, "bad day." "It's fine, really. I don't need any help." She turned away from him and scrabbled for the books with her free hand, but at another twinge from her elbow that made her eyes water she had to concede that she wasn't going to be much good in her current state. Sitting back, she brushed her hair out of the way and allowed Jarrette to tend to the wound. True to his word, the skin on her temple tingled hot then cold as the skin knit itself back together. Aislinn probed the skin gently, then smiled. "Thanks! We'll make a Healer of you yet, eh?" Following his lead, she drew her wand from her bag. With a muttered "Accio," she summoned the remaining books into a neat pile in front of them. "Now, let's do something about this arm..." With much wincing, she managed to draw her arm from the front of her jacket and straighten it in front of her. She held her wand to her elbow, but thought better of trying to fix the damage; her wand was supposedly good for healing, but with her wand hand out of action she didn't dare risk it. "Ferula," she said, opting instead to bind the arm until she could visit the Hospital Wing. "Trust me to wear the most awkward costume," she laughed, "I think I'd best be changing before tonight!" She unwound the scarf from her neck and Vanished it to be on the safe side; as an afterthought, she got rid of her hat too. "Anything else? Well, if you're free you could always keep me company whilst I visit Nurse Higgins?" There was no obligation in her voice; she half-expected him to say he had far better things to do with his time. "I'll just drop these in at the library first - seems a shame not to after all that!" She cast a quick Hover Charm, only now wondering why she hadn't had the forethought to do so sooner. |

Jarrette beamed at the complement the girl gave him. He let her take her wand out and collect the books. Then she used Ferula to bind her elbow, (which was where, he noted, the harsh crunching sound must have come from earlier.) She made a comment about her costume being awkward. Jarrette had opted out to wear his till later that night. "Nah, just a little bit dangerous while you're lugging a ton of crap around." Even so, first her scarf, then her hat disappeared. "Anything else? Well, if you're free you could always keep me company whilst I visit Nurse Higgins?" Jarrette watched the books float into the library. He really should go there. He had his book with him after all.... "Yeah, sure. I'll escort you!" It was something interesting to do at least. He would get to watch Nurse Higgins work over some healing magic. |

"Well now, this is me! I was always going to make a hames of it!," Aislinn chuckled. "Right, one second..." She disappeared through the library door for a moment before returning sans books and packing her wand away. "Well then Mr. Loefler, shall we be off?" She waited for a moment for him to catch up to her before heading to the Hospital Wing.
