Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Perhaps every girl in the world would die for someone escorting her to a ball, but definitely not Rosie. Life was to enjoy... like classes! The only reason why the Hufflepuff was in that place at that moment was because it made her happy. But that had nothing to do with Toby's question. Rose would go alone to the ball, except... nah.

"Ooh, niioouu!" she finally replied, her lips curving to her typical smile. "I don't think I know a boy who would wear a Donald Duck costume. Not even in Halloween!" She laughed. Although true, that was a point she hadn't previously thought about. "But if I did, it would be so awesome!" She had to consider all the possibilities.

"What about you, are you escorting a lovely lady tonight?" Rose grinned.

Toby gave a snort of mock derision. "Spoilsports! I can't imagine why they wouldn't want to!" Hallowe'en was the one day when even the most ridiculous of costumes were acceptable. "If I didn't already have a costume, I'd have been honoured to wear it." He chuckled; his costume was hardly any more in vogue, but at the very least it would be slightly more comfortable!

"A lovely lady?" Toby thought for a moment. Of course, there was no end of eligible girls in the school, but none had really caught his eye. Although... "Sadly not! That means more time to spend with friends though, so it could be worse!" His grin mirrored hers.

"Well..." Sebastian pondered for a while. He hadn't really thought of any costume to wear, despite what he had said to Cossie during Defence Aginst the Dark Arts. He had even forgetten that it was Halloween, hence his lack of a costume because thanks to CHarlotte and her forgetful tendencies to feed her turtle. Oh well, anything for family right? "Maybe I might dress up as a Jack O' Lantern. I kind of fancy having a pumpkin on my head," Sebastian grinned back, sharing a thought he had five seconds ago. All he had to do was carve a pumpkin, place it on his head and wear a Peter Pan shirt and tights. He was sure that he still had his Peter Pan costume from second year...

"And how about you dearest?" Sebby asked Brynn," Have an idea on your costume yet? Or are you still pondering?"

Charles silently crept into the Divination classroom. For the first time ever, late for a class. Students already occupied seats in the back, so he had no choice but to take a seat at the front. He thought he felt Banni's eyes glare into the back of his head, but no, the centaur wasn't there. Instead of the half-horse-half-human, it was a substitute.

"Uh ..." The words escaped his lips before he could even think of anything to say. Divination would be interesting, he guessed. Especially with a different teacher.

The class quickly grew larger and before Daniela knew it, just about every seat had become occupied. She was growing nervous (especially because the Carmichael girl had decided to attend) but the pleasant smiles of the bright Hufflepuffs kept her nerves calm.

"Today's lesson will be easy." she said softly. Her statement was muffled by the chatter of the crowd. Daniela cleared her throat and clenched her fists. "Today's lesson should be easy." This time when her voice was louder, the students quieted and focused on the adult in the room.

"If we correspond nicely and if there isn't much problems, this class will be over quickly." Daniela snapped her fingers as if to emphasize her statement. "Now, I want all of you to pair up and bring out your dream diaries." The woman began to parade down the aisle. "I trust that you have all been writing in your diaries each morning after you have dreamed." At least, that was what the sub-plans had said. "Once you're in pairs, grab a dream dictionary and interpret each other's dreams." Her eyes glanced towards the books rested in the bookcase in the corner of the room.

"You may begin."

Shannon plopped beside Charlie. She wrapped a strand of pale pink hair around her finger as she crossed her legs. "I couldn't find anyone I liked so I decided on you." Shannon giggled. Charlie and her always had some sort of history, but now was a chance to make it sparkle.

"I've already got the dictionary." She reached into her bag and slammed the old book on the wooden desk. "And my diary." Again, she reached into her bag and pulled out the diary. Shannon had been writing in it nearly every morning. Her dreams could not be kept in a secret in her head. "Please tell me you have yours."

Having caught the profesor's instructions, Fiorrin scurried swiftly to an empty seat. She wasn't entirely sure if there was anyone who'd been sitting there earlier, there had been nothing on the desk to suggest it had been occupied. She removed her scrolls of empty parchment and a vibrant green quill. Ready to take notes, she figured it was a shame she hadn't gotten to talk to Francis a bit more before class had started.

Charles nearly jumped in his seat as Shannon sat beside him. He wasn't used to surprises. Especially when he was half-asleep. "You're too over-eager about this lesson." He observed. Shannon had always been a perky girl. "Relax ... take a chill pill." Even though he was only joking, it would have been nice to see a calmer side of Shannon.

"Well, at least I don't have to get up." he snorted. Good. Maybe the sub wouldn't subtract points from his house. "Of course I've been writing every morning. Why wouldn't I?" He pulled the beaten up journal from his bag and gently laid it on the table. Charles opened it and began to gently turn the thin and crisp pages littered with ink. He casted a sideways-glance at Shannon.

"Driving in a Muggle van through a city where it's raining. Being chased by people with guns. At the end, my van fell backwards off the bridge and into the water. Anything abnormal?"

Kiran ambled into the Divination classroom, about five minutes late and not exactly knowing why she was there. She wasn't even taking this class. Some of her classmates had told her that they were working on dream interpretation, and perhaps she just wanted to see what her dreams held for the future.

She was confused and lost and a little bored, because she'd had free periods all day today. Well, she probably should have gone to Defense Against the Dark Arts, but she'd been too busy hiding in her dorm room, writing letters to her brothers and crumpling them up, throwing them against the wall when she wasn't satisfied.

She crept up through the door, wondering why she'd ever taken this class. The room smelled horrendous, like potpourri. It reminded her of her grandmother's house. She crinkled her button nose as she shut the latch quietly behind her and took a seat in the back, not sure whether Professor Castro saw her. She didn't really care, though. If she got kicked out, she'd just go do something else.

She'd changed her clothes since this morning. Kiran could never stay in costume for long. Halfway through this particular holiday, she'd always return to her normal clothes. The only evidence that she'd ever been wearing a costume was her cowboy boots, which didn't really match what she was wearing now... but what did it even matter?

Kiran sighed, sinking back into a poufy armchair and closing her eyes. Last year, all she'd cared about was her clothes and how she looked. Now, it didn't really matter to her. Nothing really mattered to her. Everything had changed, and she didn't know what to expect. Maybe that was why she was here. She wanted Bannishtar to tell her what to expect.

But Bannishtar wasn't there, which just went to show her that you couldn't trust people--or centaurs. No one was going to be there for you. You always had to make your own way, because if you put your trust in them, they'd let you down.

Professor Castro started talking about dream diaries and dictionaries, and Kiran decided to do it, since she was there anyway. She grabbed a dictionary and pulled out her diary. The last dream she had written about involved dying roses. She sighed again and began to look it up.

Rose - Roses grow on shrubs, with stems that are often armed with prickles. However, they are more commonly known for their beauty and delicacy. Your dream shows that you have been very guarded lately and that you are trying to feel safe by putting on a disguise. Perhaps you have been holding back anger. It is very likely that the planet Mars has been off alignment with the moon.

Death - People who dream about death clearly have the topic on their minds. Perhaps they have just lost a loved one or are close to their own time. Death is most often associated with the planet Jupiter. It must be traveling very fast lately.

Kiran slammed the book shut and rolled her eyes. It was the most unhelpful bit of rubbish she'd ever read. This didn't tell her anything new. It barely told her anything at all. She didn't give a damn which planets were aligned where. She just wanted to know why things kept happening to her.

No wonder I'm not taking this class. It's just a huge waste of time.

Remind me why I'm taking this class again, when I nearly failed it last year? Oh yeah, it's because I thought Ginny was taking it, too. Screw electives.

Criselda slumped in her seat, her jaw set and eyes heavy.
Her arms were tightly crossed in front of her chest, as she struggled to keep herself awake. The fumes were starting to make her drowsy, and there was no source of ventilation. It also didn't help that she slept through most of this subject last year and nearly failed. The class was getting bigger, which also meant the room was getting stuffier than it already is.

Great. She strained her ears for the sound of Bannishtar's hooves, but what she heard instead was clicking of heels. From the sound of it, the owner was female, for the footfalls were light and rhythmic. She looked up, mildly curious, and saw a middle-aged witch standing in the middle of the room.

Diaries. They were doing dream diaries. How can she do dream diaries when she always forgets what she dreamt about in the morning? Grumbling to herself, she looked around the room for another lonely soul (which shouldn't be the case if she wasn't stuck in this class for the rest of the year anyway). Spotting a girl two tables to her left, she walked over to the brunette who just slammed her book shut.

"Hey, er, this seat's not taken, right?" She said as an attempt for introduction, and pushed a little smile through her teeth. She didn't wait for the girl to accept, and plonked herself down the soft chair, which only made her more sleepy.

"So, dream diaries..." She cleared her throat. "I'm Criselda. Just call me Crissy. Okay, that seems like a good enough introduction. Let's get this shit done so we can get out of this sauna."

Kiran was just considering leaving the class. There was no point in sitting here, reading the stupid Dream Oracle, when all it was doing was pissing her off to no end. She made to get up, but a Gryffindor girl named Criselda sat down beside her.

"Kiran." She nodded her head casually as an introduction, leaned back, and crossed her arms. "I'm not even in this class," she said, not bothering to keep her voice down, "so I can leave the 'sauna' any time I want to. But I've got nothing better to do. Let's interpret some dreams."

Criselda's attitude made Kiran giggle to herself a little. She'd clearly found another girl who hated Divination. "This book is useless," she warned, "but in case you want to hear what the 'experts' have to say about your dreams... Nah, all it really talks about is planet alignment. It's kinda like a dictionary, too." Kiran shut her mouth to cut off the stream of babbling that was issuing from it.

Once she had regained confidence in her ability to speak coherently, she addressed her partner again. "So, do you wanna go first? I've already interpreted one of my dreams. Apparently the Jupiter's rotation is going faster than Mars's, which means I'm trying to shield myself from inherent death by putting on a disguise." She half-snorted and rolled her eyes, passing the book along the table so that Criselda could look at it.

Shannon blinked dumbly at Charles. "Okay ... well ... " Her voice trailed off as she opened the dream dictionary. "Key points. I need the key points of your dream." Her hazel eyes rolled up to the ceiling in deep thought. After drawing a couple of blanks, she began to flip the pages of the book. "Well this book wasn't written for Muggles. So I can't look up anything about 'driving' or whatever it's called."

As she continued to flip through the pages, she thought about all the nightmares that lay recorded in her diary. "Rain?" She flipped to the 'R's' of the book. "To see and hear rain falling, symbolizes forgiveness and grace. Falling rain is also a metaphor for tears, crying and sadness." She read aloud. It was hard to contain her giggles as she read the next line: "Alternatively, rain symbolizes fertility and renewal."

She giggled as she wrote down the definitions. "Water?" she turned the crisp pages to the 'W' section. "To see water in your dream, symbolizes your unconscious and your emotional state of mind ... " Her voice trailed off as she met Charles gaze.

Great...pair up with someone...who was gonna pair up with a silent Ravenclaw? she thought to herself as she sighed then looked around the room then pulled out her dream diary. I don't see the point in this class anymore... she thought again as she looked down at her book opening to the page of her most recent dream which wasn't too thrilling but it was a dream I guess.

Again, her oddly colored purple eyes searched the classroom once before looking back ahead with a sigh. She was rather waiting to see who wasn't paired up yet so she could possibly go and pair up with them to get the assignment over with.

"You're an unusual nugget." Criselda started, as she took the book that was handed to her, gave it a quick scan and flipped it close. "I don't understand how someone would choose to go to Divination instead of, I dunno, sleeping and drowning themselves in the lake." She gave a small snort as she opened the book at a random page and found a chapter on deciphering dreams about star-crossed lovers.

"Wanna know a secret? Well, not really." She started suddenly, not really waiting for an answer. Sure enough, she babbled on after a second of silence. "I don't remember any dream I've had, aside from one where I was riding a unicorn. That was way before I studied here." She half-shrugged. Not entirely true, for she had dreams of falling from cliffs and all those weird and colorful dreams, but somehow they seem to escape her mind the moment she opens her eyes.

"No but seriously, I always forget about my dreams. And unless you make me sleep right at this moment and figure out a way to extract my dreams from my head while I sleep, I can't really share anything so I'm pretty useless. Unless I make some stuff up and say a unicorn promised me eternal glory or something." She blabbed on, flipping through the book really fast.

"That reminds me of a childhood story my dad used to tell me. I'm sure you're familiar with Tales of Beedle the Bard?" She moved in closer and put the dream dictionary or whatever it's called on the table. "Disguising yourself to hide from death, huh? Sounds trippy to me."

Francis nodded listening to the teacher, he reached into his bag grabbing his little notebook he had jotted his dreams in every morning. Turning to his left, he watched Ana for a moment before smiling and turning to face her.

"I hope you don't mind us working together" He said laughing slightly and opening his book flicking through the dreams. He grabbed the dictornary looking back to her with a small smile. If she did go to work with someone else it wouldn't matter, he could ask someone else like Sebastian.

"You have really pretty teeth, you know."

Francis told Ana. She eyed him and giggled. It was merely for the fact of him complimenting her teeth, rather than her smile. She watched his face expression as he went along drawing. It wasn't a face of concentration, but a face of ease and peace. Before she could look away and focus elsewhere, he placed the drawing before her. A look at it told her this one was better than before. It displayed her chipper attitude, whereas she had been unaware of someone watching her the first time. It made her think and wonder if she tried to be happy around others. Maybe when she wasn't paid any attention to, she would let her true feelings show.

She smiled at the picture of her, and then smiled at the artist. "Bravo." She whispered, before the booming voice of their professor kept her from saying anything else. Ana listened to the womans directions intently, while watching Frankie. The commands given to the class were easy peasy lemon squeezy. With both her hands, she dug into her bag placing odd objects along her desk in the process. Finally finding her dream journal, she scooped the possessions up in a heap, dropping them one by one back into her bag.

When she sat up to work, Francis was gazing at her. She giggled, feeling her cheeks heat up and turn rosy. He was asking her to work with him, and she nodded and made a silly face in the context he put it. He said it in a way that sounded as if Ana was opposed to work with him. A curve from her lips should have let him know she was happy to. Perhaps, she was curious of what Frank dreamt of. Then again, she was curious of the boy in general.

Fiorrin sat at the desk she'd chosen. Pair up she says, easy for her. She listened around the room, hoping to either hear or perhaps even spot someone who did not yet have a partner. This was apparently one of those days where she was going to be ignored. They tended to be the worst; considering she wasn't the type to stand on her desk and yell for attention. She'd much rather aquire it through achievement than general action or misconduct.

She drummed her fingers a little on the table, having written about the last dream she'd had in rather large letters on her parchment. That was alright though, a few teachers cared at the size of her writing, but most were happy that it was clear manuscript and not some sqhished mess in all parts of the paper. Maybe someone would come along, or perhaps she'd just get assigned a partner. As much as she enjoyed company, it was far easier for her to do things herself.

Francis slowly opened the first page of his dream journal turning to the first page of his dream. It was a weird one, the first one he really recorded as he woke up. He looked down to the scribbled writing, it had obviously been rushed that morning in the hope he wouldn't forget it in a hurry. He looked to the page scanning the words before passing it for Ana to read.

Last night, I had a very strange dream. It started with me in the grounds of Hogwarts but it was painted red, there were most of the Ravenclaw's there with red books and robes on. I was sitting under a big tree which was full of life. I remember looking up to the castle and seeing a girl walk forward; she had red draped over her shoulders. It was the girl I had sketched earlier that day, she had bright red lipstick on and she smiled at me. The wind was blowing her hair everywhere and music started playing in the background, I'm not sure what type of music but that's all I remember. I woke up with my sketchbook in my hands and the picture of the girl I drew facing up.

He looked over to Ana after reading it through himself, he wondered if she would realise that dream involved her. He knew from some of his studies that red could be symbolised as love, but it could also be for danger. Then again, she was in Gryffindor which was represented by the colour red. It could have been any of them, he knew there was more to the dream but he couldn't remember the details. He opened the dictionary for her looking through for key words that might have stood out in the dream. He turned to watch her face, wondering what she would make of his dream.

Kiran thought about that remark for a moment. Yes, she was quite strange for being here when she didn't have to be. But she shrugged and leafed through the book again. There was no need to let this random Gryffindor girl know that she had no life.

She grinned when Criselda said she couldn't remember her dreams. "Are you sure you're not just saying that because your dreams are erotic and embarrassing? There's probably something about denial in here... no, just kidding." She gave an awkward sort of half-laugh. "Maybe there's something about lack of dreams, though." Kiran turned the book over and flipped to the index.

Her finger was just passing over something about llamas when Criselda mentioned "Tales of Beedle the Bard." Kiran looked up immediately. "I love that story! My dad used to tell it to me, too, when I was younger..." Her voice pinched a bit as she trailed off, but she wasn't going to get upset. Not in front this Gryffindor girl. Not in front of this Divination class. Not in front of anyone. In fact, she wasn't going to get upset at all.

Instead, she just smiled. "Maybe that's what my dream is telling me. Maybe Death is going to swoop down upon me and snatch me up in his cold, dead fingers." She giggled and looked towards the window, where a bird was flying by. The sun was shining through the clouds onto the lake, and Kiran smiled, thinking of summers spent swimming and relaxing and drinking lemonade.

I wonder how cold that water would be in October...

Kiran shook her head. Why was she even thinking about that? She brought her attention back into the room and onto the dream diary in front of her.

"All right, Crissy, let's see what this book has to say about your lack of dreams. It probably means that you were captured by a secret agent platypus in your previous life, thanks to the odd rotation of Mercury's moons."

She flipped past a bunch of other ridiculous nonsense until she found what she was looking for, and then she read aloud. "'Everyone dreams, as can be shown by measuring brain activity. Many people know they have been dreaming but can't remember their dreams. Others don't even remember dreaming and think they don't dream - but they do. All it means is that they have forgotten the art of dream recall.' So you were lying to me," Kiran teased. "You've just 'forgotten the art of dream recall.' Do you care to see how this is affected by the planets, or would you like to move on?"

Kiran didn't exactly care about that part, but the overall concept interested her. What would it be like to not remember your dreams? It might be a whole lot easier, or maybe a whole lot less interesting.

A Jack O'Lantern. That was a creative thought. Brynn smiled and shook her head. "Oh Sebastian, I'm sure you'll work that pumpkin," she said. She couldn't imagine Sebastian walking around with a pumpkin on his head... well maybe sadly enough she could picture it. Sebastian had a way of putting the brunette at ease. Being around him felt natural and he, unlike most people, didn't get on Brynn's nerves on too many occasions. "I'm still pondering," Brynn responded. "Beauty and the Beast was like my favorite muggle animated movie ever," Brynn said, "should I go as Belle again?" Brynn asked. She had gone as Belle a few years back. She had the fancy golden yellow ball gown folded up somewhere in case she needed it for an occasion such as this one. "Or should I try to be little more creative?"

Brynn silenced when she heard Professor Castro speak. She pulled out her Dream Journal as instructed and glanced back to Sebastian. "Partners?" she questioned Sebastian with a grin. She always hated when teachers said to pair up because Brynn was clearly not the most liked girl in Hogwarts and the thought of being left alone scared her. She traced her fingers along the cover of her journal. It contained endless scrawled pages seemingly meaningless dreams. Brynn had written down all the dreams she could remember in as much detail as she could.
