| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? Jess had been talking for quite a while as her and Edward entered the corridor, she was following him letting her eyes graze over every corner of this massive place. She had been talking the most out the two, getting a few sarcastic replies as she went along, but that just made her talk more. She didn't care that it seemed like she was talking to herself, she was walking with someone so it didn't matter too much did it? Not to her anyway. "I love potions class too! But for some reason they wouldn't let me take it at my old school" She knew exactly why she wasn't allowed to take this, but that devil smirk still danced on her lips as she talked about her favourite classes. She expected him to ask why, so she thought it'd be best to give him the answer anyway just in case he didn't ask. She did hate silences, they were boring. "I nearly blew up my old school with this awesome prank potion I was creating, it worked though! The prank went perfectly, but the school was destroyed so i got moved here" She mused, almost telling her whole life story to the uninterested boy. "I still got some of the potions if you want to try some out!" The liquid was bright blue, that wasn't the kind of colour that was usually in potions; to say the least. Edward kept quiet for most of their walk, mostly only informing her about their current location and answering questions. And even if he had anything to say, he probably wouldn't get a chance. It's not like he was complaining, though. He was a boy of little words, but surprisingly, Jessica's stories proved to be quite interesting - or at least most of them. Not that he would ever admit that. Edward wasn't very fond of Potions, but decided to humor Jessica anyway. "What did you do?" he asked with a sigh. He guessed she'd tell him whether he asked or not. But did she just say she destroyed her old school? "Was the potion supposed to blow everything up?" he asked mockingly, "seems like a little extreme prank. You must have really hated the headmaster." Edward shook his head profoundly, he just couldn't believe how this little girl managed to cause so much damage. "Thanks, I think I'll pass," he answered sourly. "But if you ever have the urge to blow Hogwarts up as well, could you wait for about two years? I'd really hate to go to Durmstrang. Wouldn't stand the cold." |

Jess laughed and shook her head patting Edwards shoulder and grinning a little. "No it wasn't meant to, I said sorry and everything!" She said with a pout, she watched him carefully for a minute before turning back to the corridors, looking around for ghosts and then smiling and little. "This is way better than my old school, so i don't want to blow this up" She softly said, not too loud, but not so quiet he couldn't hear her. She skipped forward, turning left then stopping for a moment, she ran back to Edward standing extreamly close to him and looking up to his face. "Do we go left or right?" She spoke, the blue bubble gum that had been hiding in her mouth was now brightly shining out in the darkness as she chewed taking and step back and shoving her hands into her pockets, the smile reappearing on her lips as she waited for an answer. |

"I'm sure they appreciated it," Edward commented with a sarcastic smirk. "And if you're still looking for ghosts, they will surely make an appearance during tonight's Halloween feast." He heard there will be costumes, dancing and everything, but he wasn't excited about it. First, he didn't have anyone to go with, and second, he wasn't really into all that partying stuff. "Glad to hear that," he said indifferently. Jessica began skipping around the corridors again, reminding him of a hamster on caffeine. He was about to mock her for that, when she ran back to him and stopped before him, invading his personal space. That was too close for his liking. Edward didn't know what to do, stepping back would mean surrender in his mind, and he would never do that. Edward swallowed, trying to hide his nervousness, while his eyes briefly shifted to the chewing gum in her mouth, and quickly back to her eyes. "Right," he growled, scowling a little in admonition. Was it only his imagination, or was Jess really testing him? |

She nodded going to walk down that way, stopping for a minute then walking back out pressing a finger just below his eye, swiping his away trying to be gental as she held up her finger. "You had a eyelash under your eye" She carmly said, turning around and turning right, watching for him to follow then remembering what he said about the Halloween feast. "Halloween feast? We should go together! As friends I mean" She cheerfully said smiling wide to him as she turned around and waited for him to catch up, watching his feet as he walked and smiling wider. She wasn't a fan of dances herself, but she would get to meet people and halloween had to be one of her favourite times of the year, she got to prank people and then go 'I didn't want to give you a treat' as an excuse. She tapped her food in the tune of a well known song, for her anyway, and looked back over to him waiting for him to catch up. |

Edward moved to follow the girl, when she was suddenly, yet again, in his face. "Hey," he said angrily, being a little more prepared this time. He grabbed her intruding wrist and held it in place. "What are y-" However, she interrupted him with an explanation. He looked down at her finger skeptically, and indeed saw a small eyelash. He released her wrist with a confused 'oh'. Jess turned around again, so he humphed, and he went after her. "Do I seem like a guy who just loves celebrating ridiculous holidays?" he asked with raised eyebrows, "besides, I hate costumes." He continued walking past her, ignoring her excited look. He was sure Jess wouldn't let it slide just like that. Deciding to tease her a little, as she constantly did for the past hour they'd known each other, he turned around and smirked. "What would be in it for me?" he asked, still walking backwards, hands crossed arrogantly across his chest. The truth was, his former best friend had managed to convince him into such absurd events on a few occasions, when he wasn't quick enough to come up with an excuse. "No, but I can show anyone a good time" She said with a wink, grinning a little as she watched him walk backwards. Maybe this guy can be interesting, maybe even fun. A wide smirk danced across her chapped lips as she watched him. "Careful, you'll fall over" She said stepping forward and grabbing his arm, stopping him from walking into a wall. She then smiled a little letting go of his arm and crossing hers, glancing around for a minute and shrugged. "Nothing, but it would be fun and i'll never prank you ever" She said smiling wide and jumping on the spot, excited, she then smirked once more. "And, I can be extreamly annoying when I want to be dear Edward" She walked over, not too close with that smirk still on her lips, she then put her hands together and made herself seem smaller. Taking a deep breath, she smirked one last time before going into her phase. "PleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasePLEASE" She almost shouted, then standing back and crossing her arms smirking. "I can go on forever you know" |

Edward thought he knew the corridors as his own shoes, but was proven wrong as he nearly hit a wall, if it wasn't for Jess. Ironically it was her words that had made him lost his concentration momentarily. Real smooth, Edward. Looking completely unfazed, he leaned against the wall with his hand, and fixed his eyes back at the girl. Her promise of not ever pranking him was enticing, but when he really set his mind or something virtually nothing could change it. Luckily for Jessica, this wasn't the case. Still, he wanted to get as much as he could out of this situation. "Extremely?" he asked in fake confusion, "I thought you were already being that." He honestly thought it couldn't get much worse, but the girl obviously had talent for being annoying. "Oh please, anything but that," he stated tiredly, but before she could say anything else, he raised his other hand and continued, "IF I say yes... you'd have to come up with a costume for me. A normal one." Part of him still hoped this might drive her off. |

Jess smirked, she always knew how to get people to do things she thought were good. As the smirk ran across her lips, she watched him, a thinking face replacing the normal excited one as she thought of how else to annoy this boy. A lightbulb flash in her head and she smiled wide hearing the 'Yes', he really shouldn't have said that. She jumped on the spot and ran over jumping on him and wrapping her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly with a wide smirk. She knew she was going to be pushed off, but she didn't know how much force he would use and how long it would take. Smirking. she began to think of what he could wear. "You could be a zombie! Just paint your face cut your clothes!" She started to plan the image in her head smiling wide to herself as she nodding grinning wide. Yeah, that'll work. |

Carter swaggered into the corridors, a hand in his pockets and the other carrying his books on the side of his hips. However pleasurable Halloween was for those muggles and muggle-lovers alike from the other houses, Carter scoffed and grimaced at the mass display of the disgusting costumes that he would label stained with dirty blood. He couldn't fathom what it would be like at the Halloween Ball, everywhere would be another far fetched monkey suit or something. Never the less, he'd probably go. Who else is going to ridicule and put down those muggle lovers there? Besides, Carter Breslin never misses a party. Scowling under his breath, not caring if a professor or student gave him piercing looks as he did, he made his way closer towards the Common Room. Wishing that he had some form of verbal dispute with someone, he turned around the bend and spotted two figures further down the corridor. Smirking he pushed forward, knowing his quarrel drought had a chance to be over. "Now who do we have here..."Carter inquired with a raised eyebrow, looking at the two students who turned out to be Edward and another girl he had seen quite a few times. Obviously, he could deduce that she was from Slytherin, spotting her a couple of times in the green and sliver uniform." ...Fairfax and an insignificant other....glad to know you aren't resistant to physical contact Edward," Carter adressed them, looking at the girl as her arms were wrapped around Edward in was somewhat a hug "...touching." (OOC: I'm just gonna switch the costume/hugging times, since Carter is here. Hope you don't mind.) "What is a zombie?" he asked doubtfully. He had heard the term before, but didn't pay much attention to it since it was probably muggle related. "For your sake, you better hope it's nothing bright and stupid." After hearing his confirmation, Jessica started jumping around again, which no longer came as surprising to him. However, without any warning, she flung her hands around his neck and hugged him tightly. A cold shiver ran down Edward's back and his jaws locked together firmly. Who did the girl think she was, he though angrily. He balled his hands into fists as he fought a strong urge to throw her onto the floor and away from him. But before he could do or say anything, a familiar voice spoke up nearby. Glancing up, he recognized him as his housemate. Things just couldn't get any better. Collecting the last remains of his restraint, he grasped Jessica firmly by her shoulders, and pushed her aside, giving her a truly deadly look. The girl was going to get hurt sometime soon, if she didn't learn when to hold back, and with whom. Edward was the very opposition of cuddly, and anyone even touching him (let alone a stranger) without his consent was in danger. He swore not to be like his father, who was prone to violence, even nearly killing his wife, but it was in Edward's blood to have the same impulses. That's why his own reaction to Jess' action surprised him. At last, his eyes went to the other Slytherin. Squaring his shoulders back to his natural stance, Edward stated bluntly, "Breslin. How delightful to see you again." Obviously, Carter, like most of the other Slytherins knowing Edward for years, knew he wasn't a people person. Jess stepped back, hoping she hadn't gone too far this time. She chewed on her lip glancing to the other boy, her eyes locking on him as she continued to analyse who he could be. "Hey, another Slytherin" She said pointing to him from where she stood in the shadows. He didn't seem like the nicest person to meet at this moment, she watched the boy feeling herself smirk. He looked like he took care of himself very well, nice hair too. But, Edward didn't seem to like this boy much, that put a negative spin on the situation. Stepping over slowly, she smirked at the boy stepping back again and holding out the prank gum she had seen earlier. "Wanna piece of gum?" Suddenly feeling someone pull her back she pouted and crossed her arms looking back over to the boy and waiting for a responce. She wanted to prank someone on her first day, but it looked like she'd have to wait a while to do so. |

Carter smirked as Edward took the girl of himself. Slytherins weren't known for their cuddly nature and tendency to attack people with hugs, well except that girl who seemed to be fine with breaking the stereotype. He dug his hand further in his pockets and sighed, peering at the two students as if he was expecting something from them. Carter nodded as Edward greeted him brusquely, the corner of his lips curved into a smirk and he titled his head to the side slightly. "Mmm, delightful indeed," Carter smugly responded, eying the girl to his side with slight curiosity. Carter observed her with piercing eyes, she pointed at him and he stared at the finger with a grimace painted across his face. He didn't being like pointed at as if he were a creature from a muggle zoo. It made him feel irrelevant, as if he weren't here. "Another Slytherin?" Carter scoffed with clenched jaws. He couldn't believe this girl. He wasn't part of an exhibit and her childish actions bewildered and aggravated him. "You're a Slytherin?" Carter inquired rather calmly this time. He wasn't going to lose his calm demeanour to a person like her from what he had observed. Carter rose an eyebrow as she offered him gum. "No," Carter stated bluntly. If he didn't know any better, he'd say that she was as good as a Hufflepuff or even worse, a mudblood. But till he confirmed his accusations he stood there with a raised chin. "I have no idea who you are," Carter nodded at the girl," why would I accept confectionary from stranger who has given themselves to a respectable Slytherin like Fairfax?" |

Jess rose an eyebrow watching the boy carefully humming to herself, it was obvious he thought a lot of himself. By how he acted and how he talked to her, she rolled her eyes a little stepping away from him. "Yes I am a Slytherin thank you very much" She softly spoke, feeling herself smile a little. He was pretty good looking, she mentally kicked herself rolling her eyes a little hoping she wouldn't end up liking this guy, she would end up killing him no doubt about it. Realising she had been watching him for a few minutes, she looked away from the boy watching the walls letting her eyes trail along the curves on the walls. |

Carter peered at the girl with a raised eyebrow. Carefully, he watched her posture and facial expressions intently, trying to find something that was at fault. "Oh?" Carter asked, the question filled to the brim with amusement. Carter tucked his books under his arm and tilted his head. "Hm, who would of thought?" Carter smirked and nodded to Edward briefly. "As much as I enjoy chatting with my fellow housemates," Carter peered at them with his usual arrogant glance," I'm afraid there are things more entertaining, more important than doing so. I'll see you guys later." Carter nodded to Edward before gazing at the girl maliciously. Before walking out of the corridor. |

Jess watched as the boy left, she bobbed her tongue out to him and then looked over to Edward smiling a little. Suddenly, this smiled was faulted by a grumbling that ecoed around the corridor, the sound was coming from her stomach. She looked down to it, hitting it once then frowning at the noise. "I'm going to go to the Great Hall dude, my stomach is forcing me to!" She shouted dramaticly laughing and walking down the way she came. She turned back to Edward and smiled wide. "Thanks Edward, you should come to the great hall too! Just try and catch me up" She grinned turning around and running down the corridor s fast as she could, which was pretty fast. She turned the corner and and slowened her pace and she slowly wondered around leaving the corridors wondering if Edward would catch her up. ((OOC: I'm taking her to the great hall incase you want Edward to follow her (: )) |

Edward stayed quiet, wondering how would Jessica deal with another Slytherin. Carter was overly arrogant, but other than that, he was nowhere near as cruel as some of his other housemates. Edward even had some respect for the other boy. He was used to the mean ones - hell he could be mean when he wanted, too - and usually paid no mind to it, but from what he had seen so far, Jess could have some trouble with them or get burnt while adjusting. He nodded his goodbye to Carter, and called after Jessica before she left: "You go ahead, I'll be over later." He needed to feed his lizard, since he forgot in the morning, and also think over the new developments. Edward went to his common room, wondering when was the last time anyone had sincerely thanked him. (OOC: Sorry for taking so long. I'll bring him there later, I think.) |
