|Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.|
Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?
The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?
Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

|Amera Percy||Sep 6 2010, 05:27:02 PM Post #1|
Full name: My name is Amera Lori Percy,
Nickname: But you can call me Meri if you know me!
Pronunciation: It is pretty simple to pronounce, A-MEER-Ah. Meri is pronounced like Mary, but with a long E. (Meer-ee)
Gender: I am a girl.
Birthdate: I was born on Saint Patrick's Day. That is, March 17th, 1994. You would not fully understand unless you were Irish.
Age: I am sixteen, nearly sixteen and a half!
Year: Sixth Year.
Blood: I am a halfblood. Really, what is a pureblood? Nobody can explain this to me anymore.
Wand: I bought a wand made of Rosewood, it is only 10 inches, and its core is a Dragon Heartstring from a Green Welsh, according to Ollivander.
Height: I'm pretty short, only about 5'1". But that's okay, because my entire family is short too.
Eyes: I have medium cloudy blue eyes. They are pretty normal, aside from the fact I have thick eyelashes.
Hair: I have curly auburn hair, which goes just a little past my shoulders. Sometimes I will straighten it, just so it's easier to manage. I rarely wear it up.
I'm pretty pale, as most natural redheads are. I don't tend to tan a lot, that's really bad for your skin, you know? I guess you can say I'm sort of attractive. I'm no Precious Hindert, but I have had a few compliments in my lifetime. My favorite thing about me is my hair, really. I kind of have a weird shaped nose, though. But, we can't be perfect!
I normally like to dress it up a little, a nice sweater or a dress. Nothing too fancy, but when the mood passes me - I will wear a formal dress, just for fun. I also live in ballet flats and Mary Janes - even when I'm in uniform.
A/N: Speaks with an Irish accent. Sometimes hard to understand.
Okay, first things first – I'm kind of strange. I don't really like to deal with a lot of things at once, which includes drama. Some people are amazing multi-taskers, but I'm not. Generally I'll either be with friends, working, or off in the school somewhere. It's rare that I'll combine any of these. That just doesn't bode well with my personality. I guess this is sort of a problem for some of my friends, as they like to study in groups or participate in things like Quidditch. I'm not really a team girl.
Other than that, I'm pretty laid back. I like to cook a lot, though I can't say I'm amazing. It depends on the dish. I try to help the house elfs out whenever I can, but that sometimes fails. Apparently, they dislike somebody else doing their job. By now, they are kind of used to my presence in there – so it's easier to practice. Still, I'm not allowed to help with meals or anything.
I suppose you could say I'm friendly; I enjoy my friends – even if I don't always have the attention span for them. I still tend to have a lot of fun with them, even if it's just a game of cards or a swim in the lake. Like I sort of said earlier, I'm a simple person. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to amuse me.
That being said, I would not join in on a good prank or mean joke. I don't have any sense of humor when it comes to hurting others. People have called me a "party-pooper" before, when I rain on their parade. I can't help it that I hate the feeling of shame and guilt! That's bound to happen when you prank somebody. I mean, honestly!
Oh, I dismissed part of the reason you asked this question anyways – how I do in school! I'm not in Ravenclaw for a reason. Let's see, I'm smart. But I'm not book-smart. I care more about animals, and cooking – then I do for, let's say: Transfiguration. Really, I just want to be a cook or work at a pet store; rather than – the Ministry, because I can't see myself going into law, unless it was to protect animals. Except, there are far more brilliant people out there than me – so why do their job when I can do mine? I believe you should follow your heart, and do things with passion.
Also, I won't necessarily like you until I know you. I am pretty loyal to my friends, and I don't open up super easily. Although, I'm not about to tell someone off just because I disagree with them. Save that behavior for the big boys. Not a short, little lady like me.
All together, I think I'm a good person. I'm kind of modest, so it's hard for me to admit whether I really am or not. So, I'm just going to give you a vague answer here.
I think I over explain things…I'm sorry for such a long explanation about myself, I don't share it everyday – so you can talk to me if you want.
I was born in Ireland, among a pretty large extended family. Mostly magic, I think… My parents and I are kind of the odd-balls of the family though, since I am their only child. I have a great deal of cousins though, and every one of them has some shade of red hair. My part of the family doesn't have any freckles though, I guess that's because my papa is from England instead of Ireland.
Anyways, I only lived in Ireland until I was 9. My papa got a job in London, so we had to move to a wizarding suburb near there. I wasn't really used to muggles at that point, and only interacted with them when we went to the playground and such. I certainly didn't have anything against them – I just never got to know any.
We had a lot of animals in the house then – probably why I love them so much. Hmm, I believe we have…three dogs? 4 cats (one is mine), a bird, an owl – of course. We used to have hamsters, but SOMEBODY kept eating them. So no more hamsters, or rodents of any kind. It's hard enough to fend that cat from our Owl.
I got a letter from Hogwart's, as well as the Irish Witch School. But I decided doing something different than my family would be nice, and my papa said Hogwart's was brilliant. He was a Gryffindor, you know. I am really glad I chose Hogwart's, it's simpler. I don't have to put on the traditional Irish behavior here. My extended family is VERY Irish.
Me? Not so much. For the past 5 years, I was in the house called Hufflepuff. Which I guess means I'm loyal and not afraid of toil. I don't think houses really matter though; I don't have a ton of loyalty to any of them. Not many people understand that.
I'm a bit concerned about the dark events that take place around Hogwart's. Stuff like that never happened to my family in Ireland, so it's odd for me. I guess I have to get used to it. I really like England, it fits me better.
Edit: How Amera got furry.
Amera acquired Lycanthropy in Ireland over the summer. Not realizing the risks, and being very curious about animals - she went wandering through an isolated woods a broomstick ride away from a cousin's house. There, she began tracking wild rabbits through the woodland - trying to record there niche and the type of community the forest really was. This process took a good portion of the day, and Amera grew weary from her hardwork. Since she didn't want to fly back on her clunky broom so late at night, she decided it was easier to find a clearing and pitch a tent. Afterall, she had her wand on her - if something were to go wrong, such as a straying muggle - she could defend herself. The ministry in Ireland was rather loose on protection laws, anyways.
With her wand as a protection, she pitched the tent from some loose supplies she had packed in her backpack. The Percy's were rather used to her adventures, so they didn't think much of her disappearing that night. Amera always turned up in the morning. There was a full moon that night. Amera was in summer mode, and didn't pay attention to the significance of this.
So, she ate a packed dinner of vegetables and finished recording the data of the day. However, before she got to the conclusion - she felt full and fell asleep with the flashlight on and on top of her sleeping bag. The tent was partially unzipped.
Odd thing about this forest, though. It wasn't just a shelter for animals. In fact, a few nomadic werewolves had traveled into for safety purposes as well. They generally isolated themselves in wildlife during transition season, because they were victims of purposeful attacks. Mainly, this small group of wolves had parents who angered hidden Irish beasts. Either through magical debt or opinion. Obviously, not every witch or wizard is the good guy- and a few had banded together within the Irish borders as a gang.
The point is, these nomadic werewolves were victims of this gang. They never intended for a human to be in the forest, so they had hidden themselves there in hopes it's isolation would protect lives. Instead, they generally destroyed caves and wildlife. In the case they do whiff human flesh, they cannot help but attack. It's in there, (and Amera's) nature. It's normal for the victim to die after an attack.
This group came across Amera during their transition, and regrettably - and uncontrollably, attacked. They maintained some control over the attack, since they did not willingly kill. Just from instincts. They fled the scene, and spent the rest of the night chewing there way through the rabbits - leaving Amera for dead.
Amera didn't die though, instead - she became one of them. Not that night, that night - the magic seeped into her veins and began to rewire her mind. She was to return to home, with a story of a vicious wolf. Tastebuds switched from veggies to meat, and she was unaware of her new state. That is, until her first transition. Amera attacked a muggle village a few miles from her home, killing two of the elderly. With her meal, she disappeared for the rest of the night into a nearby woodland.
Family: My papa's name is Thomas Percy, and my mum's name is Charlene. Don't get me started on my extended family…I have 19 cousins, and 10 aunts or uncles. ON MY MUM'S SIDE. It's a little milder on papa's, 5 cousins and 4 aunts or uncles.
Pet(s): I have a lot of pets, as I said earlier. But the only one I bring to Hogwart's is my orange tabby, Dexter.
Possessions: I have a really cute stuff animal; I got it as a baby. It's a green teddy-bear, and it sleeps in my bed. I don't care if it's weird, I love him.
I also have a gold locket, which is simply a family heirloom. It has a picture of my great-great-great-great-great…..great grandmum and grandpapa.
Misc. Info: Amera is a werewolf, and has killed several muggles. See history.
