| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Jack paced back and forth in the foyer of his home. He looked down and smoothed out his shirt for probably the fiftieth time that day, and sat down on the stairs to retie his shoes, which just didn't look the way he wanted them to. "Are you really that worried, Honey?" Jack's mother Elizabeth asked from the balcony overlooking the foyer. "Yeah...," Jack sighed. "Her owl said that her dad was coming to drop her off, and I've never met him before. I want to make a good impression and all that." "And your shoelaces are going to make or break that impression, hmm?" she asked with a motherly smile, before Jack's father interrupted. "Hey Jack, how are you doing?" Phillip Bauer, Jack's father, asked, as he entered the foyer from the dining room. "I can't complain," Jack responded simply. "Can't or won't?" his father asked, giving his wife a smile as he referenced Jack's stubbornness. "You know me too well, Dad," Jack admitted, trying not to grin. He again looked down and inspecting his attire and resumed obsessing over the way he looked. "Oh..., come here," Jack's mother said, descending the stairs and approaching him. She tugged on his shirt a little bit and drew her thumb across Jack's cheek, where a speck of dirt had evaded his detection. "What time are they getting here anyway? Shouldn't you go to meet them now?" "Son of a bitch!" Jack thought and sighed audibly as he looked at the clock. All of his obsessing over his appearance had made him lose track of time. Pulling away from his mother, he ran over to the door and opened it up. "Thanks Mom, and Dad," Jack said quickly, looking out into their front drive. Removing his wand from his pocket, Jack walked out to the front of his house and looked up to the sky. He quickly glanced back at the house to make sure that his parents weren't watching, and then towards his neighbours' houses. Not that it mattered, anyway, as Jack's mother had enchanted their fences to filter out anything out of the ordinary that might spook their muggle neighbours. When he established that no one was watching, Jack quickly brought his wand into the air and fired a red bolt towards the clouds, which light up silently like a firework without sound. Jack looked down at his watch and noted the time; he was right on the dot, so they should have been within visible range to see the marker in the sky. Jack scanned the sky for signs of a broomstick as the marker faded. |

Silence crept through father and daughter as they rode their brooms towards Bauer Estate, and the hard expression on Tom's face stretched Trina's nerves even more. She chose not to tell her mother about this because she knew what she would say and do; her father was always the one who understood these things. Looks like she's in for a surprise. He was at least an arm away from her, and he didn't even look back to check or talk to her to ease her nerves. For the first time in forever, Trina didn't like flying. She would've opted for Side-Along Apparition, since both situations could probably end up in her spewing all over the Bauer's lawn. Trina cringed at the thought, trying to shake it off her head. What a nice way to make a first impression. "Hey dad?" He grunted. "I-I... I'm sure you'd like Jack," "We just have to wait and see, do we?" Trina nodded silently. If it weren't for her nerves, she would've admired the landscape below her, and made loops and laps with her broom. But she merely sat there, hands gripping the handle tightly, stomach knotted in anxiety. Two thousand hours later, a bright flash of red erupted from their right. She almost fell off her broom. "Da-dad--!" "I saw," They swooped down to the source of the sparks, and Trina felt her feet touch the ground before she saw anything. Her knees gave way when they touched pavement, and all she could do was clutch her father's robes for support. This was not her day. "You alright, Tree?" His voice was near. She cleared her throat and steadied herself, her eyes searching for Jack's. She gave a big smile and over to hug him, completely forgetting her father and her broom. Tom coughed loudly. "Trina?" He shook her broom in his hand and smiled slyly. "Oh, oh, erm," Trina cleared her throat as she pulled away from Jack and reached for her broom, but kept her other hand on his for support. "Jack, I would like you to meet my father, Thomas," She gestured to him, turning pink. "And dad, this is Jack. I've told you about him--" "Yes, you have," He nodded, taking a step closer. The smile left his face for a while, and Trina stood nervous, her knees shaking. Say something... Say someth-- "Why do you look so scared, Tree?" His father laughed as he looked at her. "I like the boy," Trina stood there, too shocked to make a comment. |

Jack began to grow weary as Trina and her father failed to materialize after he fired the signal into the air. His heart was beating out of his chest as he scanned the sky again and again for the hint of a broomstick, but there was nothing. As soon as he began to give up hope, a faraway object appeared from almost right beside where the signal had gone off. Did Jack manage to hit them with it? His jaw shivered slightly as he watched the pair swoop down from the sky, so he took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. Jack was normally very headstrong and brave, but the idea of meeting Trina's parents was quite possibly the most daunting thing he had ever faced. As soon as Trina landed and found Jack, she ran over and planted herself into his arms. In an instant, Jack felt both at peace and more scared than ever, as Trina's father was right in view of the two of them and was watching him make contact with his daughter. When the two of them separated, Trina began the introductions. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Sir," Jack said respectfully, offering his hand to Trina's father. He straightened out his posture and drew his shoulders back to avoid looking disrespectful in any way. "How was the trip to London? I hope you found the place alright, and I apologize if my spell was a little too close for comfort," Jack said with a grin. "Did it take a while to get here? You're more than welcome to come in for some refreshments if you like, Sir. My mother would be more than pleased," Jack proposed, trying to be as welcoming as possible, although he predicted that Trina would give him hell for it later, as she probably wanted her father to leave as quickly as possible. |

Trina watched in disbelief as her father's face lit up again, and stepped closer to her and Jack. She tensed when he was close, her eyes scanning his dubiously. "Why are you looking at me like that, Tree?" Her father chuckled lightly, the laugh lines on his face telling her that it was genuine. He stopped when he saw the look on her face. "Why are you looking at me like that? Why are you laughing at me?" She blurted out, incredulous. He chuckled again and shook his head, and shook Jack's outstretched arm. "It would've been better, if Trina here wasn't too tense," He joked, winking at her. "I thought she was going to have a heart attack," "Well dad, if you didn't look so glum I would've--" "Glum? Who said I was glum? I was hot. I was sweating into my shirt, Tree," "Oh dad," Trina shook her head and joined in chuckling, realizing how pointless her worrying was earlier. This was why she loved him more. If it were Cherie, she would've gotten snapped at. "It's okay, son," Trina's eyes popped wide. Son? "I told my wife I'd be back before lunch time. I can already hear her complaining about how long I took. Plus, she's edgy because her baby's going to her boyfriend's house," He chuckled, walking over to give Trina a hug and kiss goodbye, and reached out to pat Jack's shoulder. "It's very nice to finally meet you. Thank your mother for me," "And take good care of Trina," He added in a serious tone, before mounting his broom and taking off. Trina's mouth was open. "That... went well," She stared at her father's disappearing figure in the sky. |

Jack snorted and burst out laughing when Trina's dad disappeared into the sky and Trina finally spoke. He had maintained his composure only for the sake of her father, but as soon as he disappeared, he was able to relax and poke fun at how tense Trina was. "Yeah, that wasn't so bad, was it?" Jack responded. He took Trina's broom from her hand and laid it down beside them, grabbing her other hand. He wrapped his arms around her waist in as tight of a hug as he could and lifted her feet of the ground, spinning around slightly. "I missed you," Jack told Trina, burying his face in her shoulder and sneaking in a kiss on her neck. "Do you want to go inside? he asked, lowering her back to the ground. "My mom is dying to meet you." |

The sound of Jack's laughter brought her back to reality. Her eyebrows pushed together as she looked at him, and her mouth curved into a small snarl. "What are you laughing at?" She hit him once on his arm, feeling a little irritated. Of course, all irritation was gone when she felt his arms around her, and all she could do was giggle and smile. "I missed you, too," She faced him and put held his face in her hands, blushing when he kissed her neck. She suppressed a groan when Jack introduced the idea of going inside and meeting the family, and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Can't we stay here a little longer?" She pouted, her eyebrows furrowed in worry. She kissed his cheek, still shy to kiss him on his lips. "I mean, I'd love to meet her, but I'm..." She trailed off, her lips twisting into a shy smile. |

"What, shy?" Jack asked incredulously. He knew that Trina was one to be shy, but honestly, his parents were probably the coolest adults he knew, regardless of how nuts his mother could be at times. They were both very humble and welcoming, and were looking forward to meeting Trina. "You honestly have nothing to worry about. My parents are excited to meet you, but don't feel like you have any sort of expectations to live up to or anything," Jack told her with a smile. He took Trina's hand and began pulling her towards his home. Before Jack and Trina could make it to the porch, however, the front door opened up and his mother appeared, running out like a blundering idiot with a silly smile on her face. "Good afternoon, good afternoon!" Elizabeth greeted the pair as she exited the house. "Er, this is my mom, Elizabeth..." "But you can call me Lisa!" Jack's mother interrupted. "Right. Anyways, Mom, this is Trina Tadpool," Jack introduced his girlfriend, pulling her forward gently by tugging on her hand. |

Trina nodded slowly. "It's just... I'm not..." She stuttered, not bothering to complete her sentences. She braced herself for the introductions and gripped Jack's hand firmly, squeezing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She nearly jumped when Jack's mother came bursting from the door -it seemed that way- and gave a nervous laugh. "Good afternoon Mrs--" "But you can call me Lisa!" "--erm, Lisa," She said with a small smile, trying to calm herself down. "I-It's so nice to meet you," She raised her hand slowly in an attempt for a handshake, a little unsure of what to do. "Thank you for having me here," |

"Oh, don't even mention it, Dear! Any friend of Jack's is always welcome in our home!" Elizabeth told Trina as she took her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Please, come on inside!" Jack pulled Trina inside the front door as Elizabeth goaded them in. Jack's father was waiting in the foyer to meet Trina. "So this is the girl, hmm?" Phillip Bauer asked with a smile. "You must be Trina," he said, approaching with an outstretched hand. "Trina, this is my father, Phillip," Jack introduced his father. |

She smiled Jack's mother and felt herself warm up to her. She was actually nicer than she had expected (in fact, she was the opposite of what she'd imagined) and she found herself following her like a sheep would a shepherd. Trina laid eyes on his father, and found herself smiling again. She nodded when he acknowledged her presence, taking his hand when he offered it. "Pleased to meet you, Phillip," She turned to Jack, a more genuine smile now lighting up her features. "I must say I've heard about you before... But I didn't think I'd meet you this way," Trina said in a small voice. They've been very good friends for 5 years, and they never thought of asking each other for the holidays. Trina smiled at this little detail, returning her gaze to Jack. If only he could see what was going on inside her head. |

"Oh, I'm sure Jack has told you alllll about us," Elizabeth responded, still smiling away. Jack groaned a little bit, but stifled it so his parents wouldn't hear; Jack didn't have the heart to tell his mother off for embarrassing him, as he knew she meant well. "How long was your trip, Dear? Let me take your jacket. Are you hungry?" she questioned, taking Trina's jacket and hanging it on a nearby coat rack. "I'll get her something, Mom," Jack interjected, in an attempt at acting noble. "Already ahead of you! I put some sandwiches out by the pool if you guys want to head out," Elizabeth stated, her head slightly on a tilt as she continued to smile. "Er, right. Did you remember to bring something to swim in, Trin? Did you want to go for a dip in the pool once we eat?" Jack asked. He crossed his fingers, hoping she had remembered, as he was excited to get her in a bathing suit. Boys will be boys, right? |

Trina giggled, but bit her lip to stifle it. "Jack's... been telling me stuff," She glanced at him and gave a short laugh. "I'm okay, Lisa, really," She said as she took off her jacket and hung it for her. "I'm not hungry... yet. My mother forced me to eat before I came here..." She smiled at Elizabeth, hoping she wouldn't take it negatively. "I... I wouldn't mind taking a swim now," She nodded, as she opened her purse. Her parents never let her carry around big bulky bags and made it a point to cast charms on her purses. This made traveling easier, but it also made her feel unprepared. "Let me check if mom..." And there it was, in a small heap in her bag. A pair of bikinis. She could kill her mother. She forced a lump down her throat and closed the clasp immediately. "You know, I think I'm just gonna watch you swim," |

"Oh, don't be shy, Dear!" Jack's mother chimed in. "Don't be afraid to help yourself to some refreshments when you're hungry, and definitely take advantage of the warm weather and the water!" "Yeah Trin, come on," Jack said with a smile. He took Trina by the hand and pulled her straight through the foyer, which had a backdoor straight to the yard. Opening the door for her, Jack directed Trina through the doorway and outside. The sun was shining and the air was hot, so a large umbrella was drawn over the table, which was dark green with a glass tabletop. On the table was a large plate with sandwiches stacked high, and a pitcher of iced tea with two glasses. Although she sometimes drove him crazy, Jack mentally thanked his mother for setting everything up. "I'm starving. I haven't been able to eat all morning because of how antsy I've been," Jack confessed, taking a seat and pulling half of a sandwich off of the plate. He began stuffing it into his mouth, and poured a drink for himself and Trina as he chewed. "You aren't actually going to make me swim alone, are you?" Jack asked with a grin. "It's far too hot out here to just sit around. And hey, we can go for a fly across the countryside before dinner. What do you think?" |

"Thanks, Lisa. I'll try not to," She gave her a small wave before Jack pulled her. "Alright, alright, take it easy," Trina kissed his cheek before she stepped out of the doorway, and squinted when she was outside. She could feel beads of sweat starting to form inside her shirt as she skidded to the table after Jack. "I can tell," Trina muttered a small thanks before holding her glass, and downed it in one. "I never realized how thirsty I was... I've been numb since I mounted my broom," "Hmm... I don't know... I'm open to negotiations, though," Trina tried to answer nonchalantly, but her giggle gave her away. "I'd love that! I didn't get to enjoy flying this morning," |

"Well, all I know is you're going into the water whether I have to toss you in with your clothes on," Jack told Trina with a devious grin. He continued to eat, trying not to laugh out loud at what he had said. Trying to hide his smile, he held his hand in front of his face, pretending to hide his mouth as he chewed, but really just trying to hide his smile. When Jack finished, he knelt down and untied his shoes, removing them, as well as his socks. He stood up from his seat and lifted up his drink, downing the rest of it in one go. "I'm gonna head over to the pool hut to change," Jack told Trina, nodding his head towards the small structure where they stored their pool stuff and changed in. He moved towards her and kneeled in front of her, taking one of her hands and kissing it. "I'm really glad that you came," Jack confessed, biting his lip slightly in embarrassment. With that, Jack stood up and walked over to the hut, opening the door and closing it behind him. Turning on the light, he changed into his swim attire and hung his clothing on a towel rack. Jack looked down at himself and inspected his arms and chest. This would be the first time that he and Trina would be in so much less than their regular clothes or their uniforms, and he was kind of nervous about it. He normally wasn't self conscious, because honestly, he was Jack Bauer, but Trina was someone whose opinion he actually cared about. Taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, Jack pushed the door open and stepped out, wearing his swimming shorts with a towel over his shoulder. "Your turn," Jack said, trying to avoid Trina's eyes. |

"Is that a threat, Bauer?" Trina eyed him suspiciously, a small smile tugging on her lips. Of course Jack would know all about threats. She watched in mild amusement as he stuffed his mouth with a sandwich, chuckling to herself. Trina nodded slowly as he went off to change, speechless and blushing as she watched him walk away. When he was safely out of view, she slumped into her seat and tried to keep herself from flushing. She poured herself more iced tea, knowing she would regret it later. She downed it in one, and felt her heart pump uncomfortably when he emerged earlier than she had expected. She picked up her purse and walked head long to the hut, closing the door gently behind her. She melted to the floor when she heard the door click, her heart pumping even faster. She undid the clasp of her purse and peeked inside, and as if taunting her, the swimwear caught her eye immediately, folded neatly next to her towel. She took one deep breath and changed into it. Turning to face the mirror, Trina took another deep breath and let out a little gasp. She actually looked... good. Not the way perfect porcelain models looked like, but good. She didn't look fat, nor skinny in it. She could see why her mother packed this for her, but that didn't mean she forgave her. Wrapping her towel around herself, Trina walked aimlessly out of the hut, purposefully avoiding Jack's eyes. "Alright, I'm ready," |

"Are you gonna swim with a towel around you?" Jack asked Trina, grinning as he threw his towel on a nearby chair. He looked Trina up and down, hopefully without her noticing, although it didn't really matter, because she was his girlfriend. Pleased with the fact that he had at least convinced her to come into the pool with him, Jack approached the water from the deeper side and sat down on the edge, letting his feet dangle into the water. "Ooh, it feels nice," Jack commented, feeling the water envelope his feet and lower legs. It was a pleasant contrast to the sun, which had been beating down on them relentlessly for most of the summer. "Come, sit with me," Jack said, beckoning Trina to sit beside him. |

"Give me a second," Trina said nervously, wrapping the towel a little tighter around herself. She took a deep breath and caught Jack's eye, and felt herself blushing again. So much for the work she'd done for herself back in the hut. She waited until Jack was sitting with his back to her, and sighed. She took off the towel and draped it over a chair, and slowly walked towards Jack and sat beside him. She dipped her feet slowly and rested her head on his shoulder, sighing contentedly. "It does feel nice," She said, referring to both the water and having some time alone with him. "Thanks for inviting me over," |
