Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

A Great Start to the Summer; getting home from the train.

Kiran walked through the door to the manor, with her aunt, and several house elves behind her, carrying her school things. Her aunt had come to pick her up at the station and take her back to Italy. Obviously, she wasn't going to use Muggle transportation all that way. It was only a waste of precious time.

Not that Kiran's time was terribly precious this summer. She wasn't doing anything. At all. Well, there was that party at Carter's house... but what was the point in going to that? So she could see Archie, when he's maybe asked Sierra out? Ha, fat chance. She didn't want to see him more than absolutely necessary.

"Kiriantra, is that you?" called the voice of Ariane Chevalier from the living room. Kiran rolled her eyes. Why did her mother insist on using her horrible first name all the time? "Kiran" sounded much less obnoxious.

She groaned inwardly and made her way slowly to the living room, redirecting her feet from the marble staircase, where she'd been headed off to. No, mother, it's a blast-ended skrewt in the shape of your daughter. She stood politely in the entranceway with her hands clasped behind her back. "Yes, it's me. What's the matter?" She put on her sweetest voice, because it's what she'd been taught, but all she really wanted to do was go to her bedroom.

Ariane looked up from her novel and glared over her Gucci glasses. "You always assume something's wrong, dear. Why can't anything ever be okay?" she asked sharply. Kiran breathed in and out to calm herself. In and out. Why was it that her mother made her so angry all the time?

"I don't know, mother, why don't you tell me? You sounded upset."

She looked down at her book and waved her hand dismissively. "Well, I'm fine, thank you."

Kiran walked out of the room feeling, once again, like she hadn't gotten in a word. Ariane sensed the conversation going badly, so she ended it. That's how it always was, and how it always would be. Hardly a minute ago she'd wanted to be alone in her room, but now she wished her mother had at least asked how her year was. She hadn't heard from Kiran since before Christmas. Didn't she care at all?

She stomped up the stairs, forcing herself to scuff her high-heeled boots against the polished floors, after years of habit had prevented her from doing so. All of her things were in her room, and she closed the door quietly and lied down on her back.

Why does she never let me speak? Is it really that difficult to let me say more than two words? I always feel guilty, like I've done something wrong... though I haven't even seen her in almost a year. What could I have possibly done to her?

Kiran kicked off her boots and crawled under the covers. Suddenly, she felt sick. And cold. She pulled the blankets up to her chin, and tears leaked from her eyes. She watched the mascara tracks run down her perfect white pillowcase. Her mother would kill her... but what did it matter? It was Ariane's fault that Kiran was like this in the first place. And she'd just have one of the house-elves clean it--she'd never been good at cleaning spells, even if she did dare to use magic outside of school.

How long she lied there, Kiran didn't know. The sun was getting lower in the sky when a brown barn owl soared through the open window and landed at the foot of Kiran's bed. She sat up and reached out to the bird, wondering who could possibly be writing to her. Just as she was about to take the letter, Aphrodite hooted loudly and started rattling in her cage.

That was odd, she only did that when Archie's owl was...

Oh, my God. Why the hell would he be writing to me?

She detached the letter and opened it absently, looking at the page but not taking in any words. The letter was untidy and there were many crossed-out phrases. It looked like her ex-boyfriend had been hard pressed to write this. So she read through it.

Hmm, this was interesting. He needed her help, did he? She kept reading the last few paragraphs over as she got up to let Aphrodite out of her cage--she was still hooting loudly. The instant the cage door was opened, she hopped out and nipped at Zeke's feathers. He nipped back, and they started flying around the room and chasing each other. At least someone has a good love life, she thought miserably, before sitting down at her desk to reply to Archie's damned letter.

Well, Kiran had finished writing and sent the letter. She watched Zeke fly away into the setting sun, her eyes wandering out of focus. She was going to Carter's party tonight, then. She didn't particularly want to, but hey, maybe going to a social event would make her feel normal.

She sighed and lifted herself off her desk chair. What to wear, what to wear? She had to look nice if she was going to see Archie, that was for sure. Yes, she knew it was shallow. But she didn't want to look like she was still cut up over him, if anything. So she spent a good hour and a half picked out her outfit and twisting her hair into a complicated updo.

Hmm, waterproof makeup?

Duh. You really have to ask?

She reapplied her makeup, and when her slingbacks were strapped, she walked down the stairs, more quietly this time. She didn't want to use Floo powder (ashes did not match her white dress) but she didn't know how to Apparate yet, which left Side-Along Apparition as her only option. She'd have to use a house elf. Damn.

She was walking towards the kitchen when she heard her mother's voice calling her once again. "Kiriantra? Where are you going? Why are you so dressed up?"

Kiran sighed and figured she should tell her mother the truth. "I'm going to Carter's house. A few of us are having dinner there, hanging out, you know..." Almost the truth, anyway.

Ariane stood up. "Did I say you could go out tonight?"

"Mom! You're not talking to me anyway! Why should it matter to you what I do?"

"I'm not going to reward you for disrespecting me earlier--"

Kiran walked fully into the living room. "Mother, please, I didn't do anything wrong earlier. Whatever offended you, I'm sorry, but--"

"Just get out."

"Get out where?"

"Just get out," she repeated. "Get out of my sight. Go to your damn party for all I care." So Kiran did. She fetched a house elf to take her to the party, thinking that all this was much more trouble than it was worth.
