Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

"Archie! Archie!"

The boy whipped his head towards the source of the sound, his heart pumping like a steam engine. "Mother!" shouted Archibald Emory, the constant disappointment of a son. He ran to his mother, like a 4-year-old child would, and wrapped his arms tightly around his mother.

After some time in the sun, Ursula wiped her eyes, cautiously keeping her head hung low. She straightened her green velvet dress and took her son's backpack, clapping her hands for the house elves to carry his trunk behind them. Ursula and Archie, along with the elves that hauled his trunk, entered the Manor. As soon as the door creaked, footsteps echoed through the halls.

"Archie!"
"Archiepants!"

"Thad! Tansey! Come 'ere, you two midgets," He chuckled as she carried the little girl and ruffled the little boy's hair. "You gotten so big already!" He said as Constance giggled sweetly, and Thaddeus stuck out his chest.

"Uhuh! I've been sleeping early! And I've been eating veggiebles! Right, momma--"
"--I'm a big girl now, Archie! I can go by myself to the potsies! Right, momma?" cut a giggling Constance.

"Yes and yes," chuckled Ursula heartily, as she kissed Constance's cheek. "Why don't we give Archie a little chance to rest, huh? He's had a long train ride. You have all summer to catch up,"

"All summer?"
"All summer?" The two said in unison.

"Mhmm, why don't you get back to your room while I help Archie?"

The children nodded obediently, gave Archie one more hug each, and dashed to their rooms. When they were out of earshot, Archie heaved a deep sigh. "How are you, mom?"

"I've had better days. Tough work around here, the house elves are--"

"You know that's not what I'm saying,"

Ursula sighed. "Nothing's changed..." She bit her lip. "He spanked Thad and Tansey the other day... Gramps got mad--"

"Gramps? What was he doing--" A flash of purple near her mother's neck distracted him. "Mom, lemme see..."

"See what? There's nothing--"

"I know what I saw," He reached out and pushed her hair behind her neck.

And there it was, purple and the size of a fist.

A fresh deep bruise.

Assistant Head of the Department of Magical Transportation

Today was the first day of summer. A normal person would plan a trip with his family, would soak in the sun somewhere and enjoy the liberation the holidays bring. But not for Rinaldo Emory's family. This was the day he expected his eldest son to come home from Hogwarts and bring home nothing but disappointment. This was another day he'd have to face his wife and children again. A day to put up with the children's non-sense. A day to be a father. It made him sick.

Black leather shoes touched pavement as the man stepped out of his car. It was scorching hot, the sun shining high above him. He squinted and made his way slowly to his house, where his obliging wife awaited. Or so she should be. His shoes tapped the pavement impatiently, his strides matching his mood. The elves bowed down as he passed by, each shaking to the core, and Rinaldo resisted the urge to vomit.

Entering the Manor, he was greeted by the house elves and led to the living room, where his wife and eldest son awaited.

"Archibald," called Rinaldo, not bothering to stop for introductions. "What have you brought for me this year? More disappointment?" He sneered, easing himself down his usual chair by the fireplace, that for today, wasn't alive.

"Rinaldo, I'm pretty sure Archie did fine on his OWLs--"

"I don't settle for fine, Ursula," He snapped, glancing sharply at his wife. "I won't have a mediocre boy for a son," He clapped his hands and a bottle of brandy and a glass materialized in the air, the glass gliding smoothly between Rinaldo's outstretched hand. The liquor poured itself into the glass, and with a snap of his finger, the bottle vanished.

"Well, boy?" He asked menacingly as he swirled the liquid inside the glass, his eyes piercing through his son's.

Archie clenched his fists and kept his head down, clamping his jaw tight. He caught a few of her mother's nervous glances and felt them mirrored in his eyes, and for the first time after so long, Archie felt his stomach knot in fear.

He half-listened as his father ridiculed him once more, as was becoming tradition every year when he went home for the holidays, trying to calm himself down. His heart raced frantically in his chest, and if this keeps up, he was bound to break a sweat--and risk another sharp criticism from his father.

He bit his tongue and closed his eyes. Easy, Arch. Easy... "I am sorry if you think that way father, I will--and still--do my best. The OWLs results aren't with me yet, though I have prepared for it," Which wasn't true, but still. He knows his father. There is no pleasing him.

"I'm sorry if you feel that way, father,"
