| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Charlie could see nothing. They'd put a black bag over his head before they transported him. But he knew where they were taking him. Why else had they blinded him other than to protect the secret of the location of Azkaban? Breathing was uncomfortable, for the main smell in his nostrils was that of his own breath (he hadn't even had the chance to brush his teeth before the M.L.E. had broken into his home, stunned him, blinded him, bounded him, and took him away in secret). The smell now that he'd been brought to the prison was even worse, however. It smelled of fire, of smoke and human excriment. He could hear the sounds of someone screaming far away. The dementors were now long gone, and it seemed as though torture through more conventional means was the now needed. They took the black bag off of Charlie's head as they led him down the hall, though he still couldn't see much. It was oppressively dark within the halls of the prison. It was dusty, and dirty, too, to his bare feet. When had they changed his clothes? He was now in rags that were unbelievably itchy. To his left, he looked, in the cell there was a dark figure, and Charlie could barely make out by the outline that this person was chained and not appearing to be moving. Were they dead? No. There. What little light from there was from the guards' wands glinted in the eyes of the person in the cell in a way Charlie knew to be the way only the eyes of the living can reflect light. Suddenly it dawned on him. "Karolina?" he half wispered. Someone jabbed him hard in the back with a wand point. "Shut it." a guard ordered. The led him to his cell, threw him down to the floor inside it, and then they shoved a bowl of some foul-smelling liquid in his face. "Funny," said Charlie, "I didn't think I'd be getting room service." "Oh funny," said the guard, "You're tongue, or your mind won't be so sharp after a couple of days. Now drink it." Charlie remained still. Staring blankly at the guard. Where they going to poison him? If they were just going to kill him, then why didn't they do it at his home? Why take him all the way here? What policies had Jason Kalvor introduced since the dementors had left? The guard gave a grun of impatience, then, pointing his wand at Charlie, said, "Imperius!" Charlie suddenly felt the whole of his trepidation ebb away, and he felt calmer. "Now drink," said the guard, his voice having in a strange quality. It echoed in Charlie's head. Drink. Yes. Just drink. Do it. Charlie raised the bowl to his mouth, and drank. Suddenly, he felt very disoriented. The room seemed to spin. Where was he? Where was his body? All he saw was the blackness. It was as if he didn't have a body to command anymore. Quickly, quietly, he slipped into the abyss, where he gazed longingly, hoping something would come to him. Something would look back at him, and he wouldn't be alone, here, where he no longer had control. "If ye gaze into the abyss, know that the abyss gazes, also." -- Friederick Nietzsche ((OOC: I was thinking that, since the dementors aren't around to fill the prisoners up with hoplessness, that the guards would use drugs to disorient prisoners so that they wouldn't have the lucidity required to use magic. It stops being as debilitating and hallucinogenic as it is with Charlie right now after a short while, but when one first takes it, it really messes with their heads.)) |

Karolina had been staring blankly into the wall, her body needlessly chained to the wall of the cramped cell. A single drip of water slowly dripped into her cell from the ceiling, where stalactites had formed. She couldn't even stand all the way up. Her long, dark hair had lost it's luster, and her right eye was swollen. Her jaw was also swollen, and she was quickly losing the excess pounds gained from the excellent culinary skills displayed by the Hogwarts kitchen staff. "Karolina?" a voice asked, but it barely reached her ears. She couldn't move. She couldn't turn her head toward that voice. Karolina was her name, after all. The first milestone a person can reach is the controlled movement of their head. She couldn't shift, she was immobilized where she lay. Her eyes stung badly from being open for so long. Karol couldn't even blink her eyes. The last guard Immobilized her, and one blackened her eye when she spat in his face. A few of the guards weren't much older than the current seventh years--and they had remembered Karolina. Her swollen jaw could be attributed to a failed Potions N.E.W.T. All she knew was that there was going to be a lot of detention in store when she returned. As well as hell to pay among these guards. If they thought detention was tough back when they were at Hogwarts, they had no idea what she could do to them with her wand and magical ability restored. All she had to do now... ...was wait. |
