| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. General Information: Full name: Brooklyn Jade Powell. Nickname(s): Brooke and Bee. Brooke is a shortened version of her name and Bee is a nickname given to her by friends. Pronunciation: Brook-lynn. Gender: Female. Birthdate: May 2. Age: 15. Year: Fifth Year. Blood: Pure blood. The entire family has been full of witches and wizards, as Brooklyn has been taught her entire life. Her mother was a very talented witch, while her father was a bit more modest. While Brooklyn's mother, Corissa, expressed her powers more-so than her father, Jaycob, it was Jaycob's family that was involved in more interesting events. Brookyln's relative, Gregory, was the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement for a short time being in the 1800's. You could say that he was not the best head of the department, seeing as he let a lot of things slide and many wondered if he was influenced by dark wizards. This was not true, although Gregory was influenced by many wizards who had dark intentions in their minds. Still, Gregory was a success to get to the position that he did, and he was very talented when it came to his powers and controlling them. His train of thought, though, could be questioned. Brooklyn has heard many rumors that Gregory was a Death Eater, but her parents always hushed her on the topic and ignored it as if it were nothing to discuss. Brooklyn's great-uncle, Damien, was framed for assault on the ministry officials. Damien was very good with the dark arts, as he practiced it his whole life and dedicated himself to it. Damien was framed and kept at Azkaban for a long period of time, seeing as no evidence was found against anyone else or to favor Damien. Also, although Brooklyn does not know much about her, one of her aunts was a Death Eater. Brookyln's entire family is very good with magic, although her father's roots are much more discussed than her mother's. The only thing that Brooklyn knows about her mother's side of the family was that one of her male relatives taught Defense Against the Dark Arts, seeing as he grew up in a family that used them often. Wand: 9", Oak, Runespoor Fang. Preferred House: Slytherin. Appearance: Height: 5'3" Eyes: Deep hazel eyes that are very bright and big, and she has very thick and long eyelashes. Hair: Dark brown hair, almost black. Her hair is very long and wavy naturally. She curls it most of the time, keeping the waves tamed. Physical Description: Brooklyn is a small girl, often mistaken for much younger than she actually is. She is extremely petite, being thin and 5'3". Her fame is little, she has very small wrists that she always gets comments about. Her hair is very dark and thick, and if not kept tame, her face can become hidden behind it. She has a small face, although she has big bright eyes. Her eyes are hazel, switching from green to brown, and when she is happy they are more green. Her skin tone is olive, and it is very dewy. It is a feature that annoys Brooklyn, but appears "mystic" like a beautiful glow to others. Brooklyn has very full lips, but she hates the color. Her lips have always been pale with not much pink in the coloring at all. She also has thicker eyebrows, which she constantly has to keep up with, and they also annoy her. Overall, Brooklyn is satisfied with the way she looks - minus her lips, eyebrows, and she doesn't like having such little feet. Personality: Brooklyn's best qualities are that she is blunt, witty, and mischievous. Brooklyn is extremely honest when it comes to many things with all of her friends, from their appearance to things they are doing. She is not afraid to speak the truth, whether it hurts feelings or not. While this may seem like a negative quality, people respect her for it. Her bluntness also follows along with how she does in school. When doing assignments, [if she turns them in on time], Brooklyn has no problem debating on the topic in her paper. She speaks her mind and tells it how it is. Another positive quality of Brooklyn is that she is extremely witty. If someone says something to her that is amusing or sharp-tongued, Brooklyn can respond with something better. She is extremely quick-minded and knows exactly what to say. As for being mischievous, Brooklyn does this well. She knows how to snoop and test the waters without getting herself into too much trouble. She knows how to work people and uses her head to do it. Another quality that ties into these three is her intelligence. Brooklyn is a very smart girl, except most of the time she does not utilize that when it comes to her schoolwork. Brooklyn also has a few negative qualities, being untrustworthy, selfish, and impatient. If someone were to approach Brooklyn to tell her something, she would try to keep it to herself, but would fail miserably. Things with Brooklyn slip out of her tongue all of the time, even if she tries to keep it a secret. Brooklyn's biggest downfall is her selfishness. If someone is talking about something tragic that is going on with them, she waits until they are done speaking and goes on about herself. Brooklyn has never really been taught how to have empathy for other people, so she gets bored with the conversation. She enjoys talking about herself, whether it be her successes or her failures. Another negative quality would be Brooklyn's impatience. She cannot wait for anything, whether it be for a test grade or a holiday that she loves to approach. Brooklyn likes to have results immediately, and patience is not a virtue in her case. Another negative quality is Brooklyn's attention span. She cannot sit in a classroom and focus, nor can she have long conversations at once. Even though Brooklyn is good at schoolwork, she does not dedicate herself to it because it bores her to death. The bottom line is that despite her flaws and positive qualities, she is a good friend to have but also gets herself into trouble. She opens her mouth too much, does things she should not be doing, and often finds herself in verbal spats with others. Brooklyn will do anything for anyone that she believes to be her true friend, though, and she will always protect them. Family is extremely important to her, and she will always have their backs. As she ages, she is slowly growing into herself, and these traits are developing deeper and deeper every day. History: Corissa Kentwood met Jaycob Parker at Hogwarts. Corissa was two years younger than Jaycob, and got sorted into the same house as him, Slytherin. From the beginning, the two did not exactly see eye-to-eye with one another. The two had small spats often, considering that Corissa always found something to say to stab at Jaycob. Their relationship continued in this nature for the entire first year for Corissa at Hogwarts. Still in her second year, Corissa loved to torment Jaycob at any cost. Jaycob found Corissa to be an annoying Slytherin that would hopefully learn to grow up and shut up. In Corissa's 4th year, however, she and Jaycob finally began seeing things in the same light. Once the bickering stopped and Corissa matured a bit, the two decided to have a go at a relationship. Since Hogwarts, the two have been unseparable. Nobody thought that the couple would be able to last, considering their rocky beginning, but the Parker's proved them wrong. Both Corissa and Jaycob were from the United Kingdom, and that is where they began their family. Jaymes was born first, three years older than Brooklyn. From a young age, Jaymes showed magical talents, as Brooklyn did. When Brooklyn was a young child, her parents learned that she was showing magical ability when she was angry. When she was angry or extremely mad about something, things would lift from the ground. This progressed as Brooklyn aged, but she soon learned how to keep her emotions and powers under control. As Brooklyn grew up, she did not always get along with her parents. She always found something to argue about, and always ended up storming out and roaming the streets. She did not have the best relationship with Jaymes, seeing as he was the saintly, talented child to their parents. Brooklyn was jealous of him, but she knew that he was doing his thing and that her parents were just proud of him. Although Jaymes was sorted into Slytherin, he was highly academically capable and performed well. Jaymes received much higher marks than either of his parents ever expected. Once Brooklyn got to Hogwarts, she slacked off immediately. She was more in it for the social aspects, the fun, the food, the trouble. She was not too concerned with her marks until she learned that it would get her into huge trouble with Hogwarts as well. Brooklyn does not enjoy coming home for any sort of holiday, seeing as her parents always pressure her about how she is doing. Jaymes, as usual, is used as the example to look up to. While home, Brooklyn tries to stay in contact with her friends and stick to herself. It is very hard for her to re-adjust at Hogwarts, seeing how unsocial she tends to be when she is away from everyone. Brooklyn often finds herself in more trouble at home than she is at Hogwarts, although when she is with friends she often will cause some sort of stir. Her parents still love each other, although Corissa and Jaycob do not always get along. Corissa is very close to her daughter and sees a lot of herself in Brooklyn, which is why she tends to side with her when Jaycob attempts to scold or punish her. Jaycob finds himself doing the same thing when it comes to Jaymes. For this reason alone, the two find themselves at an out with one another and are constantly bickering. When the two bicker about their children, it leaves nothing in the home but awkwardness and an unwelcome environment. Corissa and Jaycob do not fight fair with one another, either - which makes Brooklyn feel miserable when she has to witness it. Brooklyn's sanctuary is Hogwarts and she is not too sure what to do with herself once she leaves. Family: Mother ~ Corissa (Kentwood) Parker. Father ~ Jaycob Parker. Older Brother ~ Jaymes Parker. Pet(s): An owl named Shadow. Possessions: An emerald ring that has been passed down through the witches of the Parker family. |
