| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Ginny quietly knocked on the door before entering Bannishtar's classroom. She was there right on time. Not too early, because she didn't want to walk in on anyone, and not too late, because she didn't want to start off the wrong way. Childishly, Ginny was a bit nervous about the meeting. Her head of house had no reason to be fond of her, after almost five years of discipline and detention and point deductions. Now she was talking to him about her career and future. She sat down across from him at his desk and folded her hands neatly. She was missing Potions class for this. "Good morning, sir," she said, as politely as she could manage. Her voice sounded sickly sweet, even just to herself. Edit: I HATE THE EDIT BY LINE. I just spelled my name wrong in the topic title lol. Edited by Ginny Weasley, Apr 5 2010, 11:09:37 PM.

"Ah, Ms. Weasley," said the centaur, "please sit down." Banni already had her file out and ready to go. Actually, before she arrived, the centaur was amusing himself by reading the records of her elder brothers--Fred and George--and their long list of misdeeds. It was actually quite an interesting and humorous read. Peckle had written so harshly upon the pages that, in some places, the paper had holes torn into it from the quill. The centaur had to quickly put away the files before the youngest Weasley sibling arrived, all the while he thought of the normally kindly old caretaker all red in the face as he scribbled down the twins' latest inconvenience to him. It was true that Ginny had quite a history of rule-breaking herself. Just this year alone she'd been involved in several fights, broke another girl's nose and was caught gloating about it at dinner, and had been caught at least six times littering on school grounds since spring began. Littering on Banni's freshly trimmed lawn. The nerve. And yet, the centaur had come to expect as much from the Weasley children (Ronald was also always getting into trouble), and for that matter, all of Gryffindor. Gryffindors are, as it is often said, very brave, and sometimes that leads them to test the limits of the law over and over again. He did not hold Ms. Weasley's past offenses against her too much. "So," said the centaur, "let's begin with a question: Have you given any thought about your future career plans upon leaving Hogwarts?" |

(OOC: Sorry, I just noticed that you replied, like, now) Ginny tucked her skirt neatly under her legs as she sat. She saw that her file was already on the table. Talk about intimidating... He asked her if she'd ever given any thought to her career. She chewed her lip and looked up at the starry ceiling. "Umm, not really." She brought her head level and restored eye contact with the Professor. "I mean, the only thing I could ever see myself doing is being an auror... or maybe a teacher... Defense Against the Dark Arts, probably. But I'm still on the fence." Truthfully, Ginny had no idea what she was going to do with her life after Hogwarts. However, voicing this--at least in the way it had run through her head--was probably not a good idea. |

"Well," said the centaur, "You've certainly got the grades for it. Most of your family works--or worked, for the Ministry, don't they? I'm sure you wouldn't have a difficult time finding a job...if things return to the way they were," Banni said, wondering if thats what he really wanted or what the world really needed. "Aurors take an additional four years of schooling at the Auror Academy. Not only will you have to pass an entrance exam, but they won't even consider you if you don't have a NEWT in Defense, Transfiguration, Herbology, Charms, and Potions--yes, Miss Weasley, I'm afraid its Potions with Professor Sneckenberg for another two years if you want a crack at Dark Wizard catching. It is a dangerous job and you'll need to be prepared for anything. "Speaking of Sneckenberg, you'll need an O to get into her NEWT class. She only takes the best. You're averaging an E right now, so you'd best hit the books. You should count yourself lucky that you don't have quidditch to distract you from your studies, I know its important to you, but your grades are slightly better than they were last term, I should point out. "Transfiguration and Charms both require and Exceeds Expectations. Not too tall an order, though your Charms grades currently might be a little lacking, so another area you'll have to work harder at until May. "For Herbology, you'll need an Acceptable. Its not a light workload by any means, so I do hope you're up for it." |
