| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Bannishtar stood in the moist air of his forest room. As it was now the time when rain was abundant in the forbidden forest, so, too, did it rain periodically in the months of spring within Banni's indoor recreation the dark wilderness of his childhood. It was more than just for show--the plants needed the rain, and the spell Professor Aphelion had cast provided just that. However, today the usually dark forest canopy was alight with open windows and torches, and the--indoors, at least--had subsided, though the ground, the air, and the foliage remained warm and damp. The light was necessary, for today Bannishtar's Gryffindor students would be coming for advice and direction concerning their future careers. A filing cabinet had been brought into the clearing. It contained the students records, as well as information on career paths and study guides for the O.W.L. exams. This was the centaur's first time performing this particular responsibility of his position, and the one he was least suited for, in his opinion. He knew relatively little of wizarding ways before he arrived on the previous gamekeeper's doorstep all those years ago, beaten and bruised by his own herd--a punishment for his overpowering curiosity for the world of humans, a trait the xenophobic centaurs often find dangerous. And even now, after a little over a decade of working closely with wizards, it was likely that a student might know more than him about wizarding society and the various qualifications needed to take one's place in it. The placement of centaurs in centaur society was rather de-facto in comparison to human standards. A centaur was a hunter if he was male and could at least fire a bow without injuring himself or others. A cemtaura (a centaur female) mostly cared for and look after young, guarded the herd whilst the hunting parties were away, and made sure that the sick and those unable to take care of themselves were given what aid could be spared (a placement many humans might find offensive, but any centaur knows it is an important one, and no family--indeed, no herd--could survive without many competent centauras). Centauras would generally hunt only if the hunting parties were severely under-staffed. If there came a time of great need, however, all centaurs and centauras would defend their herd with hoof and arrow. As for leadership, if a leader to the people was required, then any centaur possessed of the ability to rally the centaurs of his heard (for the whole of the oral history of Banni's herd, there has only been two centauas to lead the herd, both in times of great tribulation, and then only for short amount of time), and he had the charisma and the battle strength (centaur leaders were almost always warriors) to inspire the herd, and to keep their favor, then they were leader. For this reason, centaur herds can often change leaders like the seasons--sometimes more often than that. It hadn't always served them well, of course, given that Ronin possessed the qualities that herd had desired in a leader in such a time of turmoil and Ministry interference in their affairs, but Ronin turned out to be a poor choice in the end. He had nearly lead them to the brink of ruin. Firenze and Bane now shared leadership because they balanced each other out in many ways, and the herd has seen the merit of this and so has resigned itself to follow their two guiding hands. It was all just a matter of having a need, and having a member of the herd to fill that need. There were no exams or certifications. But his ways were not the ways of wizards, and the centaur was employed by wizards to do work for wizards. Still, he wondered just why it was Bidelia had made him, a centaur, the head of Gryffindor House. Of course, she told him, stating that no other member of her staff so exhibited the qualities of bravery and integrity valued by Godric Gryffindor himself. Still, Banni had his suspicions of ulterior motives--none of which were sinister, but, rather, Bidelia's own ways of manipulating the feelings and regards of people. By making Banni a professor, and then Head of Gryffindor, Banni had been given a foothold of influence in the wizarding world that had been denied his kind previously. The centaurs of the Forbidden Forest, incidentally, were assured that Hogwarts would protect their interests with one of their own holding a powerful position within the staff, and Bidelia had gained a useful bargaining chip in dealing with them in the future (especially concerning their alliance in the coming crisis). Banni believed her wholeheartedly that she believed he was a Gryffindor at heart (and it was many times lately that the centaur himself believed it), but he knew that there was a political reason as well for giving him his position. It took him a few months to fully riddle it out, however. As he waited, he had a house elf bring in a jug of ice-cold water (perfect for the damp warmth of the room) that would not become empty until the end of the day, and several glasses for the students. The only other piece of furniture in the clearing was not furniture at all, but a wooden stump in front of the centaur for students to sit on as he conversed with them. He'd spent the entire year studying and being quizzed on the various ranks and qualifications of various positions and schools of study. The centaur hoped it would be enough. |

The forest room, though lit for the arrival of students, was still somewhat dark the Gryffindor couldn't help thinking. Addie had to quell the desire to use her Elementium as she entered the room. She wanted to get this figured out now, so she wouldn't have to duck out of any classes to do so. Addie made her way further into the room, approaching the Divination Professor and Head of Gryffindor. "Morning Professor." She smiled, nodding to him. |

"Good morning Ms. Lumineux," said Banni with a nod of his head, "I had a feeling you might arrive soon. Please, have a seat." He gestured to the stump. Indeed, Addie was one of the brighter of his students, and one of the most hard working. She would rather do this now and run the risk of skipping a meal than to potentially miss a class. He should have set out sandwiches or something. Banni had a lot to learn about how meetings of this nature proceeded. The centaur moved to the filing cabinet and went straight to the door marked "L" and opened it. He pulled out an envelope which contained many parchments. The envelope was marked "Limineux, Addie" in the previous Gryffindor Head's handwriting. Bannishtar flipped through the papers, though his were a bit unfocused on them as he nervously attempted to recall everything he was meant to discuss with the students. After about thirty seconds of silence save for the rustle of papers in the centaurs hand and the rustle of trees by some unknown source of wind, the centaur finally looked up at Addie, once again mentally admonishing himself for not being more accommodating. "Excuse me," he said, "I do apologize. Would you like some water? Sorry about the heat and damp in here. This room is meant to mimick the forest outside, even in times of much rain. It makes me feel more at home, but I suppose not everyone appreciates it. You'll have to forgive me, too, I'm afraid." The centaur smiled, "I'm afraid you're not the only one doing this career advice ritual for the first time..." After taking a deep breath, the centaur began: "Well," he said, looking at her records, "Your academic standing and your marks are high, and your conduct is almost immaculate, barring only a few...minor incidents I feel no need to make much of." The centaur smiled knowingly. Of course, Ms. Lumineux knew what she'd been up to. The centaur needn't remind her. "I doubt you'd be much of a Gryffindor if you didn't resort to some manner of rule breaking now and again, yes?" Was he playing favorites here? Probably. But it was hard not to when he clearly had students he did like and he didn't, and everything in this society seemed tied with qualifications and rankings. Perhaps in some ways wizards and his own kind were not so different. "You seem to have broad interests," he said, closing the young woman's file and setting it down on the cabinet, "You're a prefect, of course. I'd say your field of choice is looking quite wide open, Ms. Lumineux, though I'd like to know your own interests. Is there anything you see yourself doing after graduation?" It was a well-rehearsed line, but he thought it would serve him well. Of course he was very much so interested in Ms. Lumineux's future, and the futures of many of his students, but the terms were foreign and were not his standards of determining worth. Still, for their sake, so that they might better not only their lot but the lot of their society, Bannishtar would work with them on their culture's own terms. ((OOC: I could use a list of her academic strengths and weaknesses and what electives she takes. If you could PM them to me, please, it would help.)) |

"Am I that obvious?" She smiled, nodding to the professor and taking a seat. The girl gazed around the room thoughtfully. It was always so peaceful in this room. The hustle and bustle of the castle beyond a distant memory. Addie watched Bannishtar flipping through her file, before turning his attention back to her. She smiled again, shaking her head slightly. "It's fine Professor, no need to worry. I am in your class after all, I've been in your classroom before." She grinned faintly. He really didn't need to be so nervous. "It's fine." Addie fell silent, nodding as he looked over her files, commenting on her academic standing and behaviour. She knew she was doing well, it was the reason the Sorting Hat had almost placed her in Ravenclaw. She prided herself in her intelligence. Of course, hearing someone else praising her brought a faint blush to her cheeks. She blushed a bit more at the mention of her minor incidents, breaking out into a fresh grin as Banni disregarded them. "I suppose you'd have to be right about that, thanks Professor." Addie paused, nodding once more as he mentioned her prefect status. A prefect hoping to become Head Girl. But here was neither the time, nor place to think on that. The girl paused once more as he turned the question over to her. What did she want to do with her life? "I'm not entirely sure yet... I suppose professional Quidditch player isn't a viable option for this meeting." She grinned faintly, fiddling with her wand absently. "I've been thinking Auror... Though, seeing the Aurors here hasn't exactly helped my decision. Maybe an Unspeakable? I considered Curse-Breaker, but I'm not good enough at Arithmacy. I've also considered teaching, but, I suppose that could come later... I think, what I'm leaning toward the most, is Auror. I just won't be like DuMaine's goons." Addie nodded, raising her eyes to meet Bannishtar's upon coming to this conclusion. She wanted to protect people, the people she loved. She wanted to put Azariah and his Knights away for good. She wanted to make sure there were no more casualties--like her mother. Edited by Addie Lumineux, Mar 25 2010, 12:25:32 AM.

"I would have to say quidditch would be a long shot, Ms. Lumineux, but I suppose you never know until you try. Still, it might be good to have a backup plan." Though, if the centaur was being completely honest, he would have said that he'd wanted the witch to pursue something of greater import to her society. Of course, that was Banni's upbringing talking. There were no rock stars or quidditch players in centaur herds. Only hunters, warriors, caretakers, healers, and watchers (what centaurs called their diviners). Because he'd had the knack for it, Bannishtar had been groomed to become a watcher before his banishment from the herd, as he had been far too interested in doing more than just watching. He was considered useless to his own society, and a danger at that--and for that reason he was punished with exile. That is all that awaits those who do not make themselves useful. It wasn't that he hated the sport, but to Banni's centaur sensibilities, the thought of Ms. Lumineux spending her youthful years flying about on a broom twice a month for the amusement of the mass audience seemed a waste of her talent, intellect, common sense, and good nature. Banni's ears perked up, though, when mention of becoming an auror escaped the girl's lips. She, of course, expressed doubts about that particular career choice--understandable, given the current state of the M.L.E. She mentioned a few other fields of interest, including teaching, and, oddly enough, work as one of the Department of Mysteries' enigmatic "Unspeakables". Yet, in the end, her musing went straight back to the subject of aurors, along with a promise that she would conduct herself as DuMaine's "goons" have recently. "Yes," said the centaur, "I can see why recent events might cause you to reconsider that particular career path, but, please, I would advise you not to paint all of the aurors working here at Hogwarts with the same brush. There are plenty who fear DuMaine's influence as much as you or I, but are forced to go along with whatever he wishes for fear that he might hurt them or their families. And there are still others who believe that all this added security and limiting of people's freedom, while inconvenient, is necessary. I am certain that, in his heart, DuMaine, too, believes that he is doing the right thing, and that if someone ought to be in power, it ought to be him." It was true that the centaur had been giving the aurors stationed at the castle a harder time than anyone, but even so, he had come to realize that many of them were just as exasperated over the situation as he was. And, in any case, not all of them were under DuMaine's thumb. Some aurors and M.L.E. agents worked in secret for S.A.V.I.O.R. He felt it necessary here, despite his own problems in his dealings with the new security branch of Hogwarts staff, to help broaden the view of an intelligent young woman who, unfortunately, had been brought up in a society that viewed things mainly in black-and-white. "There are many ordinary citizens who believe that the M.L.E. is doing the right thing," the centaur continued, "Leaders come and go, and they change with the seasons--sometimes more often than that. Barrabas DuMaine is in power because people are still willing to give it to him, either through fear of Azariah and the anarchy he promises, or through fear of Barrabas himself; but it won't always be this way. If the people of your world decide that they truly want him gone, DuMaine will have little choice in the matter. The tides may very seeon change, and he may fight when backed into a corner, and may do terrible things, but then it will be all the more important that enough good people have the will to oppose him." The centaur smiled at Addie. "Good people like yourself," he said. "And that is all that is missing from the current situation." Taking the folder and looking through it again, the centaur pulled up her grades for each class. "Regardless," said the centaur after a pause, "Auror training is arduous, and requires another four years of schooling at the academy, and the Auror Academy does not let just anyone apply. At the very least, NEWTs in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Charms, Herbology, and Potions are a must. You'll need to be well-versed in all the main schools of magic, and defense, obviously, as well as knowledge of potions, poisons, and antidotes, hence Herbology and Potions." He looked again at her grades sheet. "That means you must achieve OWLs in those subjects," said the centaur, "The main schools of magic--charms, Transfiguration, and Defense are no problem for you, I think. Sister St. Claire is very lenient in her standards, and so will only ask that you receive an 'A' in the exam to move on to the next level. Professor Aphelion gives his students a little less leeway: you'll need an 'E' to pass. I am told that the coursework in his class is quite challenging, and so he requires significant mastery for his NEWT-level students. I'd say you're averaging and 'E' to an 'O' in both of these classes, and the same in Defense, so I do not foresee any difficulty. "In Herbology, you'll need an 'A' on the exam, which is not asking too much. Just try not to let your grades slip any here and I don't thing you'll fail. "Potions, on the other hand, might be your biggest challenge. You're not failing the class by any means, but Professor Sneckenberg is a bit stingy...she takes only the best into her NEWT class, and so requires no less than an Oustanding grade. I'm afraid you'll need to work very hard to meet that standard--it is a lofty one for most any student. "As for Unspeakbles," he said, "that's an odd choice. If you don't mind my asking, is there any particular reason for the interest?" |

"I was kidding Professor, especially as this is meant to be an academic session. Though, if the opportunity arose, it would be fun." Addie reassured quickly, noting the comment seemed to hold a faint disapproval to it. "Or it's all a power struggle... Either way, I suppose you're right. It makes sense that there are people being dragged into this mess who don't want to be a part of it... And I suppose it is reassuring to people that someone who appears strong is in charge. It would just be nice if someone who was actually open-minded and more concerned for our well being was in charge." The girl frowned faintly, chewing her lower lip out of habit. Once again, this probably wasn't the time, or place for this discussion. She smiled faintly at his next comment, about being a good person, before growing serious once more as he began talking about the training. "I know, I think that I would be able to handle it." Addie stated firmly, gazing at him as he moved on to describe the grades and courses she would need. It really did seem like Potions would be the only real challenge. "I'll just have to dedicate a little more time to Potions then." Addie decided, albeit somewhat reluctantly. It wasn't that the subject was that bad... It was mainly the Professor. But, Sneckenberg could be fair... She would manage somehow. Addie blinked as Bannishtar returned to Unspeakables, shrugging her shoulders ever so slightly. "I suppose it's just an interest in the unknown. Research and the unknown. The Ravenclaw and Gryffindor in me trying to compromise." She remarked, grinning faintly. "Though, I'm fairly certain Auror is the way I intend to go." |

"Well," said the centaur, "Magic Concepts is must if you are seriously considering becoming an Unspeakable. In fact, Magic Concepts was only an elective before your third year. For whatever reason, the board of governors had elected to make it a required class beginning in what had been your third year. It was really only a use for those with a curiosity for the subject, or those who really did harbor the desire to discover the mysteries of the world in secret. Beyond that, it is difficult to know what to tell you. Unspeakables are bound by spells of secrecy, and from what I understand they are a rather enigmatic lot. No one really knows what catches the eye of the Unspeakables or how they recruit new employees. I have heard tell that they come to you, not the other way around, but that is just hearsay. To my knowledge, we don't share student records with that department, so I've no idea how they would spot potential candidates. I do apologize that I cannot give you more information than that. Perhaps one of the other Professors may know more than I." Banni reached for the handle of the bottom-left cabinet door and pulled it open. He thumbed through the files within for a moment before pulling out several pamphlets, which he then handed to Ms. Lumineux. "Here is some literature regarding the career paths you've expressed interest in, as well as some suggestions from me based on your grades and what I think I know about you--we can never be too sure, can we, of course?" The centaur smiled a knowing smile. He knew Ms. Lumineux was involved in many strange happenings around the school. The incident in the forest last year--several centaurs had confirmed seeing a young woman that matched her description--several altercations with a rowdy group of Slytherins, and Tortal's expressed interest in her along with several other students. Banni was not so sure that Tortal would allow any of his prized eight drop his class--but for what reason, the centaur did not know, only that he did not trust Charles Tortal. "I think that is all," said the centaur, "If you've no further questions, you may leave." |

Addie remained silent, listening as he described the Unspeakables, curiosity clear on her features. "That's alright, and I was planning on staying in Magical Concepts anyway." It was true. The girl was curious by nature, a class that taught magical theory beyond her other classes was brilliant. That, and it would help her with her Elementium. "I suppose that decides it then. I'll aim for Auror, but if the Unspeakables come and snatch me up then that could be a possibility as well." She smiled, nodding slightly as the Gryffindor Head handed her some pamphlets. "Thanks." The girl grinned, blushing faintly. Professors may not know the details, but they usually had some knowledge of what their students were up to. Addie had changed throughout the years, starting as the bossy know-it-all. She was now a stand-up-for-others-slightly-less-than-know-it-all. Despite good intentions, she'd been caught in the wrong place at the wrong time more than once. Fights with Julian and his group, the World Cup fight against Azariah, the fight against Alphonse in the Forbidden Forest... She knew the list would only continue to grow as she did. It was nice to know that some Professors could be relied upon to understand. "I think that's all for now. Thank you Professor, see you in class!" Addie smiled, getting up and leaving the classroom. Maybe she could even get some breakfast before class? |

John knocked on the door of the Divinations professor, whom also happened to be a centaur. John never particularly liked Divinations, it happened to coincide with the fact that he was absolutely rubbish at it. Seeing as though Addie had just left the office, John guessed that it was empty and that he would be permitted entry. John stepped inside Bannishtar's classroom. "Hey, I saw your note about my time to see you for career advice sir" John said, looking directly at the centaur, while John had no respect for the professors subject, he had a great respect for the professor, whom he got to know better after his parents were attacked. John sat in the chair across from Bannishtars desk in a chair that faced the centaur. John looked up at the professor, not knowing what exactly to expect from the meeting. |

"Good morning, Mr. Holland," said Bannishtar. He remembered about the boy's family. The aurors had made a rescue, last the centaur heard, and were recovering in the Hospital Wing. "Please, sit down. How is your family?" he asked, out of concern. |

John looked at his shoes, "My parents are still in St. Mungos, and my brother is at the family house with the family staff" John said. "I'm not sure my parents will ever recover, they don't seem to really recognise me, or anyone else" John said, wondering whether Bannishtar knew of any way to fix this. "So, Career Advice?" John asked, simply hoping to change the subject, he didn't like talking about his parents state, he felt it was his fault and got too guilty when he spoke about it in such a casual conversation. |

"Ah, of course," said Banni, realizing his geniune concern had struck a nerve in the boy. And the centaur grew more conerned when he heard what had become of his family, that Mr. and Mrs. Holland had come out of their comas with no recollection of what had happened, where they were, or even who they or anyone around them was. What had the Knights done to them? The centaur was not well-versed in the magical arts, and so could be little use on the subject of torture victims. If the healers were unable to fix them, then the damage was very grave indeed. A wave of pity for the boy overcame the centaur. Banni busied himself looking for the boy's record buried within the filing cabinet. When he found the folder, the centaur flipped through it, staring at if for a few moments before speaking. "Your grades are good," said the centaur, "Professors Aphelion, Stuart, Tortal and St. Claire all tell me you are a very bright young man--well, Tortal didn't tell me that, but he said your work is passable, which is probably the best complement your going to get from him--and Sister St. Claire especially holds your charms work in high regard." The centaur refrained from mentioning the boy's lackluster performance in his own class, where Holland rarely even seemed to try to pay attention (which is most of what Banni gives grades for). His grades did not bother the centaur so much as his inattentativeness. The least the boy could do is give him that. "Your Potions, History, Astronomy, and COMC scores range from passable to abysmal, however. I assume those subjects aren't going to be part of any future career you might wat to have." The centaur paused for a moment, further examining the boy's permanent record. He noted quite a few offenses in the boy's years at the school, and though there were many he was willing to dismiss--for many had been comitted with noble intentions similar to those of Miss Lumineux--many of John's rule breaking were attitude-related, and the boy seemed to be in a different alteraction with a different classmate every day of the week. While behavior in school was not necessarily impirically important to one's future, as such information never left the confines of the castle, the boy ought to watch what he does in the future. It would be a shame to see such a bright boy expelled. "So," said Banni, "what is it that you do see yourself doing?" |

John smiled when the centaur showered him with praise, John never looked at his grades but Aphelion taught Transfiguration, Stuart taught DADA, Tortal taught Magical Concepts and St. Claire taught charms, he suspected that his grades in those subjects would be good, even without looking at them. John nodded as the professor rattled off the names of the classes John wasn't passing, again no surprises on the list, John was about to ask a question about what he was getting for Divination, but John knew that he would not be doing well, and reminding the Divination professor of that point would probably not endear John to Bannishtar, a teacher whom, subject aside, he had lots of respect for. "No sir, I was wondering if I would be able to drop those after 5th year, I've never really had an interest in that stuff" John tried to look at what the Centaur was looking at, no doubt it contained information about John. "I dunno. I'm really interested in wand work but I don't really know what magical professions there are, as you know my family are muggles" John said, trying to look as valiant as possible. |

"Of course," said Banni, who guessed as much, "You may chose not to continue whatever classes aren't required for the field in which you intend to enter." The centaur reached into the file where he kept the pamphlets and pulled out several he thought might interest John and handed them to the boy. "Your interest in wand work opens up a wide number of different fields," said the centaur, "For instance, Charms being a subject you are most praised for your work in, you might want to continue your charms education at a college specifically founded for purpose of research into White Magic. If I were interested, then I would look into Fuddlewits Academy in Whales. There is also an Australian Charms college known as the Bunyip Instituite where they also specialize in defense, particularly against several monsters of aboriginal myth which the members of the Institute are infamous for believing in almost religiously. I have read that they are a bit...unorthodox and Bunyip, but they have made quite a few important discoveries in the past few decades, though, their discoveries are usually made by accident when their researchers are focused on their primary goals of discovering a way to force a Yara-ma-yha-who to regurgitate its victim, or finding concrete evidence of giant man-eating koalas. Most of Bunyip's main research is refuted by the larger research community, as few believe in those myths, but their contribution to charms and defense studies cannot be so easily dismissed." Banni might be green, but that didn't mean he hadn't done his homework. His main shortcoming in being a reliable source of career information, however, was that he only knew what he'd read, and so had to rely on the recollections and opinions of experts in those fields. Though, of course, even the wizarding Professors of Hogwarts didn't know everything there was to know about magic, and so for many subjects, the centaur was certain, they, too, had to rely on information given rather than experienced. "The Auror Academy also makes use of charms and defense studies, though, they prefer their researchers to have a bit of field experience in Law Enforcement, and to get into the academy, your potions and Herbology scores will have to be upped considerably." The centaur frowned. Placing John was difficult, because the centaur knew the boy to be someone who would not do any work he was not interested in, but would work very hard at anything that could hold his attention. "There are many more academies and institutions out there I think you would be interested in," said the centaur, "most of which are listed in the pamphlets I have given you. If you are interested, there are listings in the library. Just ask Madam Von Elmorte, I'm sure she'll be happy to assist you--not that she's ever not happy these days." Banni chuckled. Whatever the St. Mungo's staff did to the former Potions Mistress, she seemed to come back a completely different person from the distasteful woman she had been. It was actually quite scary--even more frightening that Von Elmorte had been in the first place. "For most of the research fields," said the centaur, "I do not foresee you having any trouble getting accepted into some sort of further education program. Your grades are already sufficient to achieve the proper NEWT classes, so my advice would be simply to keep it up--and stay out of trouble." The centaur added the last bit almost as an afterthought, but he meant it to be a warning nonetheless. If one of the staff didn't take offense to Holland's occasional acting out, then one of the aurors surely would. "If that is all the information you require of me," said Banni, "then you may return to class." |

John smiled, it was pleasant knowing that after this year he wouldn't have to take Potions, COMC, Herbology and Divination at all this year. Bannishtar then went into a bit of a rant concerning the Australian Charm School, John thought about it, a college specifically for Charms, John could not only hone his skills in Charms but it would help with his spell creation, but Fuddlewits was closer to home. John wondered why he had not thought of life after Hogwarts earlier. Both of the schools sounded far away, and he wondered how far he could move while still being able to see his parents, and help his brother out. John then heard the word Auror, "wait Auror as in Dark Wizard Catcher?" John said, he was sitting on the edge of his seat. However, Bannishtar mentioned that he would have to work on his potions and herbology. John groaned, not likely. "What about Magical Law Enforcement?" John said, having heard of this as an alternative to the Auror departement, and dealing with magical crimes but of a less serious nature than the Aurors. John nodded as the centaur finished the career counselling with a warning of stay out of trouble, "yes sir" John said, and then stood to take leave. "Thank you sir" John said to Bannishtar before John left the Classroom |
