| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Elle walked slowly by the edge of the lake, shivering a little underneath her brilliant blue sweater. Even though she had piled on warming charms, the bitter chill of the gently falling snow could not be completely kept out. She wrapped her arms around herself and kept her head down against the slight wind. A million little snowflakes danced around her, getting trapped in her copper curls. It had been a quiet walk down, a little tense between herself and Grant. But she had gathered most of her thoughts and was ready to talk. "Well...you wanted to talk?" She sighed softly, almost inaudibly and stopped just by the edge of the water. It was frozen over and covered with a blanket of white snow. Even if she wanted to she couldn't plunge in, away from this horribly awkward situation. What happened to her? She was perfectly fine seeing any of her ex-boyfriends, but one look from Grant and she spilled her tea. It was absolutely absurd. She dragged her booted foot through the snow, carefully drawing a heart before kicking the snow over the top of it again. Hearts and snowfall were not for her. No. She was Elle Kennedie, collected to the core, completely unshakeable. The wind tugged her hair over her shoulders and she stood up a little taller. She could do this. |

Grant followed Elle slowly across the grounds, a war raging inside of him. He was going to call Elle out on her frivolous flirting - how she could act so into him, and then BAM, she had a boyfriend. It was true though, that since Grant had met Elle he and Kayden had still been in a whirlwind relationship. But even so, Elle never seemed to mind. Not that Grant really mentioned Kayden. But still. Grant knew he was to blame too, he shouldn't have gotten so attached to Elle when he had a girlfriend. It was unfair to the three of them; Kayden, Grant and Elle. Grant continued to follow Elle towards the frozen lake. Flurries flew around the two of them, Grant's v-neck sweater wasn't proper attire for the current weather but it wasn't like he planned to go outside. "I asked if you wanted to walk. Not talk." He corrected Elle playfully, a crooked smile appearing on his face. He noticed her drawing in the snow, but before he could get a closer look at her artwork, she had kicked snow ontop, covering it from view. Curious. "Are you cold?" Grant asked, raising his eyebrows at how she curled her arms around her body. He wished he could warm her. Grant wanted to wrap himself around her, snuggling her close to his chest. But he couldn't, could he? "So, you and...and Rodrigo..." He trailed off, grimacing slightly as he said the Hufflepuff's name. "Is that a recent development?" Grant wondered aloud, attempting to keep the bite out of his tone. |

She laughed tenatively at his playful correction. Was this all it was going to take to slip back into being her old self? The self that was half in love with a perfect stranger that called himself Grant? The self that was hot or cold at the drop of a dime? The self that could laugh at all his jokes and curl up against his chest? She smiled in spite of herself at the thought and at the words coming from his mouth. It was like he could read her mind. "Yes." She paused, tracing a pattern into the snow, before she realized that her answer didn't really answer anything. "What I mean is yes, I'm a little cold. And yes, Rodrigo and I are a recent development.." She knelt and sifted the snow through her bare fingers, red and raw in the bitter cold. But it felt good, this sense of freezing. It numbed the pain she knew was inevitably going to come. With a deep breath she flung herself back against the snow. She layed there for a moment, her hair wild about her face and the snow pitter-pattering against her face. With a smile she closed her eyes and began methodically moving her arms and legs away from her body. In and out. In and out. In and out. She brought her legs together with a snap and laughed at the delight of such a simple, childish thing to do. But her heart was soaring. Why shouldn't she laugh. "Come on. Make a boy snow angel and then our angels can fall in love and fly away together. " Oh how lovely that would be if they would spring into the sky and leave behind all the doubt and the worry and the fear and just soar together in their love. Elle gave up, laying spread-eagle against the snow, her red hair like a wild halo around her head. (ooc: Disclaimer...this was written under the influence of a very strong sleeping pill...sorry if it's nonsensical.) |

Grant laughed, watching Elle play in the snow. He suddenly remembered teaching his sisters how to make the perfect snow angel. The trick was to stand inside the angel and jump out, so you don't ruin the creation with footprints. His younger sisters wouldn't listen though and would laugh everytime he attempted to show them exactly how to do it properly. He guessed it was because he was their older brother, and he was making a snow angel like he was five and not fifteen. Grant smiled brightly, falling back carelessly into the snow next to Elle. He mimicked her motions; the snow was cold against his thin sweater, but it was refreshing. Grant stopped moving his arms and legs and lay still. He closed his eyes, savoring the moment. It was so random, so unplanned, yet it felt so right. To be outside with Elle in the fresh air, just making snow angels like they didn't have a care in the world. It was invigorating. "I think your snow angel is better than mine," He said, proping himself up on an elbow and facing Elle. He frowned, his eyebrows furrowing together. "And...well, mine doesn't look like a boy. It looks like a regular angel..." Snow was still falling thickly around them, frosting them slightly. "So," Grant couldn't help himself, "Exactly how recent...?" He just couldn't stand not knowing. Elle and Rodrigo's relationship made him furious, but not towards Elle. Rodrigo, as far as Grant was concerned, had dug his own grave. Grant wouldn't hurt him of course, because it would hurt Elle. But if Rodrigo hurt Elle, then he better start running now. ooc: rotfl i just realized grant - is like edward cullen. and rodrigo & elle - are like bella and jacob i hate my life. :] |

After gathering her boots and jacket she wandered onto the Grounds, she looked out at the snow then gritt her teeth in slight annoyance. She was so angry but really couldn't find the cause for it, she walked along looking around and wandered to the frozen lake. She knelt down, well more or less fell to her knees into the snow. She heaved out a sigh seeing her breath in the crisp winter morning, snow fell around her as she looked out at the lake. She traced a few figure in the snow then placed her hand sin her pockets for warmth. She sat there thinking, wondering about so many things. She flt her eyes water, she didn't quite know the reason for her emotions. She moved so she was sitting now, she hugged her knees and set her head on them. Tears rolling down her chicks, the cold air brushing against her skin as she watched the snow fall. She sighed softly as she sat there, she wantd to be alone but then again she didn't. |

It was chilly outside, today, much more chilly than the day before had been. Eve had been unprepared for it, and she walked along the grounds with her hands clenched against the sides of her shoulders, and her body stiff. She could stand the cold, though. It usually did not bother her, but unfortunately a thin long sleeved shirt did not offer much protection against the January weather. The lake looked surprisingly alluring, however. She knew it would be a certain death to jump on in, and so she quickly began to think about how nice it would be to swim in it during the spring months. Eve was not the only one on the Grounds. A dark haired girl by the name of Lithia was around. She didn't know Lithia all to well, but she still offered her a smile and a nod. "Hello." She greeted, somewhat nonchalant. |

Jumped slightly at the sudden voice, she looked back seeing a girl. "Oh, hello." She smiled slightly wiping the stains from her tears from her eyes. She gazed out at the lake, the cool air blowing lightly through her hair as she sat there. She gazed back to the girl smiling lightly as she placed her hands in her pockets. "I'm Lithia, Ravenclaw." She said softly as she then azed back to the lake with her violet eyes. She thought to herself as she waited for her to respond. Well it's nice to have someone to talk to... Eve already knew who she was, but she stood there and listened. "I'm Gweneve, Gryffindor." She noticed a faint sign that the girl had obviously shed a few tears. She was curious as to what she was upset about but knew better than to ask. She despised anyone nosing into her business, and figured that Lithia might be the same way. "Are you going to see The Second Task?" |

Elle stared up unblinkingly at the sky, a thin layer of snowflakes covering her body. She disregarded the chill seeping into her bones; she had more important things to think about. After a moment she turned onto her side, propping herself up on her elbow like he had. She just gazed at him for a second, her crystal blue eyes made even more brilliant by the rich blue of her sweater. This was okay...wasn't it? Didn't it feel so much more than okay? And didn't she feel like this whenever she saw Rodrigo, too? Maybe not quite as much, but they were still so new. It would come with time...right? "Very recent. Actually, it was very spur-of-the-moment. I asked him to the Yule Ball and then...well, it just sort of happened." She blushed slightly, realizing how ridiculous that sounded. She was in a relationship with a complete stranger, loving every minute of it. And here she was with her whatever Grant was, feeling like she was on top of the world. She shook her hair so it all cascaded to one side around her shoulder. "What about you and Kayden? Are you guys...okay?" Stupid question. Of course they are okay. Why would you even care if they're okay or not? She flicked her tongue over her lips and focused on remaining perfectly still. If she could focus on something so challenging, maybe she could keep it together. |

Lith looked up at the girl and smiled. "Nice to meet you Gweneve." She moved slightly, her legs getting numb so she moved them and stretched them out. "Planned on it, though going alone seems like it'd be boring." She said, as she looked to her and smiled lightly. She gazed off to the lake and tilted her head. OOC: Crap post, can't think. Lol |

Grant looked at Elle, well, stared was the right word actually. Her beauty was so simple, elegant, earthy. He had to shake himself mentally to remind himself to blink. "Oh." Was that the best response he could think of, 'oh'? No wonder she preferred Rodrigo, he was probably stellar at conversations. Another thing to add to the growing list, consisting of things he hated about Rodrigo. "When are me and Kayden ever okay?" Grant retorted, somewhat rhetorically. His tone suggested frustration, even exasperation. Him and Kayden were always having problems. It seemed like there relationship suffered one blow after another. It was always something that was keeping them from being...well, completely happy. Grant, without thinking, reached over and tucked a piece of copper colored hair behind Elle's ear, his fingers grazing her skin lightly. It was enough though, to remind him of how he had fallen for the girl, and how hard he had fallen. The warmth of her skin sent a chill down his spine that he knew didn't have to do with the current weather. Your so beautiful, he wanted to tell her. But Grant choked. Surprise, surprise. |

Elle's breath caught in her throat, just as it had a hundred times before with Grant. Her eyes fluttered shut as he pushed her hair back. It took everything in her to not grab his hand and pull him in closer. She forced herself to open her eyes and look at him. Oh, what the hell. She inhaled the cold winter air until it burned her lungs. And then she plunged in, head first. "Look, I'm sorry. For acting so weird at the Ball. And for nearly dumping my tea all over you. But seeing you...it freaks me out. It scares me. Because I miss you so much. And I don't know what I want. Because every time I think about you with her it makes me insane and nauseous and angry. But every time I see you I falter." She turned and layed back against the snow, barely caring that she would have to go change her sweater before the Task. It was worth being freezing cold just to have this moment with Grant. "And honestly, Grant, I really do like Rodrigo. And I know you don't want to hear it, but...Well, when I didn't know where you and I were it just seemed like the perfect opportunity to be happy. But, God, now that this is happening..." She stopped, mid-sentence, not wondering if she could go on. If she could go on. There was so much she wanted to say. She was angry at him for not talking to her, but those eyes and the way he looked at her...Well, how could she possibly stay angry? She wanted him, possibly needed him and it was inevitable. Hearing Elle's words, a fire seemed to burn through him almost paralyzing him. "I know. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being around. I really, really am. And I understand how you feel, when you see me and Kayden." Grant paused, gulping slightly. "It sucks. I know because it kills me to see you with Rodrigo." At least now, it was out in the open. Grant wanted Elle to be with him and only him. But what about Kayden? She needed him too. If he could find a way to appease both girls without morphing into Abe Halifax, he would. But Grant didn't know what to do. He was torn, his heart was torn. Half of it pined for Kayden, her smile and secrets, her thrilling, disasterous life. But the other half, it wanted Elle fully. Not as friends, not as a mindless hookup. He wanted everything with her. Grant rolled himself over through the snow, pressing his body against hers. One arm extended, holding himself up against her in a slanted position while his body rested on the frozen ground. "Now that this is happening..." He quoted, staring into her shocking blue eyes. His brown ones seemed to smolder slightly, the fire blazing strongly inside him. "I don't think I'm ever going to able to be just friends with you. I mean, you honestly don't even realize the power you have over me." Grant grinned crookedly. "I'm always going to want more." He said simply, his smile turning into a small frown. "I want to be selfish and not worry about Kayden anymore...or Rodrigo. But this isn't a fairy tale, Elle." Grant smiled again, "But if it were, you would be apart of my happy ending." ooc: SOOOOOO CHEESYYY. sorry, i just watched love actually with my boyfriend & am feeling pretty sappy right now. She listened to his words in complete enchantment. There was nothing else she wanted to hear more in that moment. All thoughts of Kayden or Rodrigo slipped from her mind. All she could see were his smouldering eyes, his lips just inches away from her own. It was like the past few months had just led up to this moment, and now she had a choice to make. Slowly, tenatively she lifted her hand from it's place in the snow and pressed her fingertips lightly against his jaw. This was it. There was no turning back now. "Grant?" Her heart raced in her chest. She was certain he could hear it. "Would you hate me forever if I asked you to please..." She blinked rapidly and slipped her hand up, pressing her palm against his cheek. Don't stop now. "Kiss me?" There. She said it. She said it and there was no way she could take it back. Rodrigo and Kayden were a million miles away, dealing with the alternate reality versions of Grant and Elle. The ones that had never even met each other. The ones that had never fallen in... Grant's heart tightened, he was expecting her to tell him to get lost, or to save his words for someone who cared. But she asked him to kiss her. And he would, if it was the last thing he did. And it might well be, considering Kayden's lineage, but for now, Grant was living in the moment. Wasn't that what life was all about? Living in the here and now? Whatever life was about, Grant quickly forgot as he pressed his lips onto Elle's. They seemed to fit perfectly, like they were made for eachother. He had never given fate the time of day -- until now. He lost himself. Grant kissed her deeply, his free hand running through her perfectly soft hair. Hair of an angel. "I really think I lo--," Grant tried to mumble, but his lips were busy against Elle's. Besides, what was he going to say? That he loved her? Did he? What was love? Was it the fire engulfing his insides? Was it the way he longed to just be near her? The way he could barely think when she was around? Grant didn't care. If he were to die right now, that would be alright with him. |

Her heart plummeted all the way to the core of the earth before leaping back into her chest. His lips against hers was like touching a cloud: impossible and beautiful and everything she'd ever wished for. She wrapped one arm around his shoulders and kissed him back, lost in a tidal wave of joy. And then he said it. Well, part of it anyway. It was like he read her mind. (ooc: how ironic!) Before she could stop herself, she was finishing his sentence. "Love you..." She only pulled back long enough to whisper the words before diving back into the kiss. She flicked her tongue gently across his and pulled his body as close to hers as possible. The chill of the snow against her back was nothing by the heat that now completely consumed the rest of her. Had she really just told him she loved him? What did that even mean, really? Perhaps it was because he was almost always in every thought that crossed her mind. Or perhaps it was the fact that when she kissed Rodrigo she wished it were him. It was the night at the ball when she first heard his voice, the night in the kitchen when they shared their first kiss, the day in the hallway when the world caved in and left only the two of them, twined together. All of that just proved to her that what she felt was real. How could it be anything else? |

Grant's heart was hammering so fast - it was pounding so hard and so quickly that he almost felt like it was bruising his rib cage. But that was love right? It hurt, and it didn't make sense, but it was worth the pain. He was extremely aware of Elle's body in that moment as he ran his hand along her side, moving slowly and memorizing every curve. She loved him. And he knew, in that half of his heart where he wanted her more than anything else, that Grant loved her too. Maybe more than he had ever loved Kayden. Who knows how long they lay in the snow, slowly being covered by tiny flakes before Grant surfaced for air. His face was flushed, but he was smiling. The chill of the air was no match for the heat radiating off both his and Elle's bodies. Grant was so content with just laying there until the end of time, but reality had a way of fighting its way back, center stage. "What about..." He couldn't even utter their names. They were meaningless. Who were they? Nobody. Kayden couldn't make him feel this way, this complete. Elle could. She did, and she did it well. Kayden's affection was nothing. Grant's caring for her didn't even compare to what he felt towards Elle. "What about...them?" He managed, looking at Elle with shining brown eyes, burning with desire. |

She gazed up adoringly into his eyes, the eyes that took her away from the pressures of the world. She couldn't resist her feelings for him anymore and they both knew it. But Rodrigo was there, burned into her mind's eye. That night at the ball, he had saved her from herself. He had spun her around the dancefloor like there was no one else in the room. He had kissed her with a gentleness that she could never wish to possess. But this was so different. This was fire, this was passion. This set her world spinning. It threw her a hundred miles out of her comfort zone and still managed to send chills racing down her spine. The way she longed, with every fiber of her being, to spend every waking and non-waking moment with Grant Winters was insane and ridiculous and perfect. She could not live without it. "I don't know. You and I both know we can't just give them up now. Kayden will kill you. Or me. And Rodrigo would just break." She couldn't break him. After the night they'd had together, she just couldn't do it. Had this happened four months ago with any other two people she could have done it in a heartbeat. But after all she'd been through, all the changes she'd made, she just couldn't bear to break someone so sweet. "What do we do, Grant? What can we do?" |

Grant bit his bottom lip: Kayden would absolutely, without a doubt, murder him. Or she'd get her parents too, the were Knights after all. Either way Grant looked at it, he lost. Stay with Kayden and lose Elle, stay with Elle and lose...his life? There were no real options for him, either way he wouldn't be able to go on living. Without Elle his life seemed meaningless, unimportant. Without her, he'd be nothing. Just a body with a few organs, constantly pumping and functioning but not living. "I know. We can't just...drop them. Me and Kayden have been together for over a year. She would kill me. Really. She's not a good person. I mean, she is don't get me wrong, but her family isn't very...law abiding. It's rubbing off on her..." Grant trailed off, lost in thought. Of course it was a horirble idea, nobody ever wanted to be the weekend-lover. They wanted to be the now-or-never, the always and forever. But Elle and Grant had a complicated relationship. They seemed desperately in love, yet both were tied to other people. And both people, they couldn't hurt -- not intentionally at least. "I don't know Elle. All I know is that I want to be with you. But the world seems to have other plans for us. I just...I can't not be with you." |

She could practically feel her heart ripping apart at the seams. There was no way she could live with herself if she made him some kind of secret lover. But she would never ask him to risk his life to be with her. All she could do was wrap her arms around his shoulders and press her face into him. She couldn't leave him now; not now and not ever. She was never going to be the same. After a moment--God only knows how long--she pulled away to look at him, her arms still twined loosely around him. "At some point it has to end, right? For both of us? Kayden will get bored and so will Rodrigo. Can we make the best of what we have with them until it's over, until we can actually be together? Grant, I can't be without you. And if that means stealing kisses in the dark for the rest of my life, I'll do that. I promise." She felt the tears welling up in her eyes and she pressed her face back into his chest, trying to restrain herself. She wasn't about to cry in front of him. She had to be strong for him and for herself. It was the only way she would get through the pain of being without him. How long would she have to wait until Kayden lost interest? Would they break before then? Come clean and hope for the best? But if Grant died for her sake, she knew she would die along with him. She would slit her own wrists before dealing with the torture of being alive without him. "Please don't ever leave me." |
