Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

More Trouble at Hogwarts

A Minor case of assault made worse by uncooperative staff

by Olga Hamerschmidt

The Yule Ball is a tradition of the Trwizard Tournament which dates back to its inception. Ideally, it is a time when those of different backgrounds and cultures come together for a night of well-mannered frivolity. However, this year's ball, held on Christmas, was subject to a rather blatant and willful act of decidedly un-well mannered behavior. A student was attacked just as the "wrock" band, The Hermione Crookshanks Experience, took the stage. The victim has been identified as June Brooks, age fifteen, a fifth year Hufflepuff at Hogwarts School, and on of four children of the respected auror, Ryan Brooks. Her assailant allegedly used the cacophonous style of music, popular with teenagers these days, played by the group to his advantage, ensuring that his deeds went unnoticed, even under the watchful eye of famed ex-auror (and reportedly mad-as-a-hatter) Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, who attended the event at the invitation of Headmistress Bidelia Ethalyn Nyree Tamara Belleford.

Magical Law Enforcment Officials acted with great haste, following department procedure. They quickly sealed off the Great Hall, where the event was being held and where the attack had taken place, and conducted their search for the perpetrator. Unfortunately, it was then that Professor Karolina Sneckenberg, Mistress of Potions at Hogwarts, decided to stand in the way of Magical Law officials. Apparently, Professor Belleford does not care for much in the way of respect for authority amongst her staff, for Professor Sneckenberg did willfully act with disregard for the orders of department Head Barrabas DuMaine, going as far as to cover the room in Peruvian Instant Darknes Powder and blast open the great oak doors with a blasting curse before escaping, causing even more chaos amongst the student body and ensuring that the perpetrator went undiscovered.

"This kind of insubordinance will not be tolerated," said Barrabas DuMaine, "it flies in the face of what we are trying to accomplish here: the safety of our community. The rules we have put in place have been so for a reason. Without our guidance, the Wizarding World would have already succumbed to chaos and the Knights would have already won. Every time someone acts out with such blatant disregard for the authority which is now the only thing standing between us and the end of our way of life, Azariah and his Knights gain another victory."

The Department of Magical Law Enforcement has issued a warrant for the arrest of Karolina Sneckenberg. Any information regarding Professor Sneckenberg or her whereabouts would be greatly appreciated, and perhaps even rewarded. Professor Sneckenberg is Caucasian, stands 5 feet eight inches with blue eyes and brown hair. Please note that Sneckenberg is an accomplished legillimens as well as one of the most prolific potion-makers in Europe. She could easily hide herself with the use of Polyjuice Potion (see article "For Your Safety: How to Spot Suspicious Individuals" on page six).

Magical Law officials deemed that the attack could not have been the work of a Knight, and so believes that a student must have perpetrated the attack.

"Perhaps some students who have become enamored with the Dark Lord, supposes Barrabas DuMaine, "It is not uncommon to find some impressionable youngsters eager to commit 'copycat crimes' in the name of whatever lunatic might be running around calling himself a 'Lord' at the time. Hogwarts staff should really do better to control these youngsters and to present themselves as better role models than the likes of Amaranth."

In the end, security will have to become even tighter around Hogwarts, and the MLE is making the security of the school its top priority. That being said, there are many problems ahead for the MLE.

"Many of the staff are opposed to our continued presence," said Barrabas on the subject, "They, like Sneckenberg, don't seem to want to answer to any authority but their own."

Despite no reports of any lasting damage to Ms. Brooks, and despite MLE assurances that all children are indeed safe at Hogwarts, many parents are wishing to remove their children from the school. As a safety measure, Barrabas DuMaine has forbidden this.

"Hogwarts is still the safest place in the world," assures DuMaine, "especially now that we are here to watch over it. Further, all that moving around of people in and out of the school would prove to great a security risk. It is best if everyone remains exactly where they are. I assure all parents that I will not allow any further harm to befall their precious children."

With the Second Task now looming, and the three Triwizard Champions faced with enough danger as it is, it is good to know that safety for our children will remain the top priority.
