Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

She was unsure if she wanted to scream, burn something, or knock something over. She was just filled with rage. At first, she leaned against the wall, staring at the space before her. Placing a hand on her chest, she coughed, letting the smallest of tears come out.

RP Location The Room of Requirement	Dave appeared in the corridors looking up and down the halls frantically for any trace of Precious. At first he didn't see her, expecting to see the girl running off towards the stairs to escape to the upper levels, but with a quick look around the actual corridor near the common room, Dave saw Precious leaning against a wall... Crying? That wasn't a Precious Hindert thing to do. "Er... Precious?" Dave said, not sure how to reveal his presence. He felt terrible now that he saw that Precious was truly distressed by their breakup. At first, Dave expected her to simply shrug it off just like she would with anyone else, as he thought she didn't care, but the way she reacted to the whole thing made him think otherwise. Carefully, Dave took a few steps towards his ex-girlfriend, not sure exactly what to do. His mouth was open as if he wished to speak, but he just couldn't choose the right words. Instead, he stood in front of her, his eyes beginning to tear up in response to her emotional state. He almost wished to reach out and touch her, to hold her in his embrace, but he would have expected her to curse him to death before that would happen again. Nervous, Dave simply stood in front of Precious, fidgeting with her gift silently, praying that she wouldn't immediately lash out at him, as much as he deserved it. He only hoped she would see that he was just as distraught as she was.

She looked up to only find Dave.Tears welled up in her eyes. She didn't want cry in front of Dave. Truth be told, she was shocked Dave had the courage to stand before her. She wanted to reach out and touch him-but she couldn't. "What are you doing here, McKelvey?" Precious asked with a shakey voice. As she spoke, her eyes drifted to the floor. She wasn't in the mood to talk. Besides, she had to meet Oscar by the lake soon.

RP Location The Room of Requirement	Dave took a deep breath when Precious looked up and questioned his sudden appearance in the corridor immediately after her. He hoped that the breath would help to calm him down, but it instead brought a heavy feeling to his chest. Dave took a step closer to Precious, who had tears in her eyes, much like his. He had never seen Precious in such a vulnerable state. This was the side of Precious Hindert that was ultimately human. This was the side of Precious Hindert that Dave loved. "Listen...," Dave said, stifling the urge to blink and allow the liquid in his eyes to fall onto his face. Reaching up towards his face, Dave wiped his eyes on the arm of his sweater, leaving them wet and red. "I don't blame you for tossing my gift in the fire," Dave told her softly. "It hurt me to see you throw it away, because it was like watching you throw away what we had. I know I more than deserve it, but... I want you to know that I think that we got off the wrong way, and... I'm sorry." Dave forced out the last two words, hoping to God that Precious wouldn't throw them back in his face. "I don't expect you to forgive me," Dave said truthfully, although he secretly hoped she would. "I wanted you to know that I couldn't bring myself to get rid of this gift because I think it's a strong symbol of what we had... and whether you want to remember it or not, I still want you to have it," he said, his lip trembling as he raised the box between the two of them. "Please, Precious," he begged, reaching out and touching the girl's face with his free hand, wanting nothing more than to stare into her beautiful eyes. OOC: Here's a little thing I made up to describe Dave's present, as I obviously can't describe it until she opens it (or throws it back at him ). Do what you will with it. Dave's Present The gift, wrapped in shiny pink wrapping with a golden bow, is no larger than the size of your hand. Just below the bow is a small label reading: "To my Dearest, Precious Love forever, Dave" Upon opening the wrapping, you discover a small case, which is covered in a soft, navy blue material. The case is about the length and width of your hand, and is about an inch tall. The case, which opens by hinges on the top edge, reveals a black interior, which is also covered in soft fabric. Placed against the black is a locket in the shape of a heart with two matching snakes, one on either side of it. The locket is golden, and is attached to a brilliant gold chain. Opening the locket, you will discover that in the bottom half is a moving picture of Dave and Precious, happy and affectionate towards each other. On the top portion of the locket is a small inscription, which reads: "My shadow was the only one to walk beside me. My shallow heart was the only thing that was beating. I used to wish someone out there would find me. Until I met you, I used to walk alone. Precious Hindert + Dave McKelvey" OOC: Yeah, I came out with the song lyrics (and yes, I actually know/used to like the song). Let's see Oscar top that.

I think we have a winner. As Dave spoke, tears welled up in Precious' eyes. She cursed to herself-it was bad enough that she was crying in front of her ex-boyfriend. But it reminded her that Dave was the only one who knew the real Precious. Yes, Dave. If it hadn't been for him, she wouldn't have tapped into her inner goodness and even think about getting Dave a gift. Her eyes widened when he presented a gift to her, her mouth dropping as he held it in between the two. She was speechless. After all her cattiness and rude remarks, he still gave her a gift. Now she felt extremely guilty for throwing his gift into the fire. With a shaking hand, she gently lifted the box from his hand. Slowly, she removed the bow, and then the pink wrapping. Finally, she removed the lid, and almost dropped the box. It was beautiful. Beyond beautiful. Words couldn't describe it. She opened the locket, and a gasp escaped her lips. Biting her lip, she read the engraved words inside the locket. She hated to deny it, but all she wanted was to throw herself at him, smother him in kisses, and never let go. This gift looked like it took a lot of time to come up with. "Dave, I d-don't know what to say." Precious felt a tear escape down her cheek. "It's so beautiful. Words can't express how much I-I," the Slytherin searched for the right words. "Words can't explain how much I love it."

RP Location The Room of Requirement	Dave's insides swelled with an extreme sense of happiness when Precious accepted his gift graciously as opposed to throwing it back in his face, which would have killed him. He smiled at Precious and looked into her eyes, which were still stained with tears. Happy that Precious wasn't mad with him, Dave wiped a tear from her cheek and put his free arm around her waist, losing himself in her gaze. "I... I don't expect you to wear it or anything," Dave told her, choking back his emotions. "I just wanted you to remember... what we had." Dave wasn't sure if Precious even needed a reminder, as she was clearly having trouble getting over the whole thing based on her hostility towards him, but perhaps she needed to remember the positive feelings they had for each other instead of focusing on their breakup. Dave looked away from Precious, hiding his face and his eyes from view, as they were beginning to flood yet again. He closed his mouth and breathed deeply, focusing on his feet. Although he said it himself, it was as if Dave was hearing the words for the first time. Remember what we had... Dave stifled a sob slightly as his emotions began to take over. He didn't dare look back at Precious; Dave was strong, and crying was a sign of his weakness, and Precious' opinion of him mattered more than anyone else's. But at the same time, Precious was just as strong as Dave, and yet she felt comfortable enough bringing down her walls and letting him in, letting him see her true, human self, crying in front of him. "Precious...," Dave whispered, trailing off. "I'm so sorry about what happened. I don't expect you to forgive me, but I want you to know that I didn't want things to turn out this way," he confessed, biting the inside of his cheek. Dave felt his chest shaking, his chin trembling, and his arms followed along with them. This type of... emotional breakdown or epiphany was a very rare event in Dave's life, as he never allowed anything in, never allowing anything to make him vulnerable or control his emotions, but here he was, visibly shaken in front of the one he cared most about.

With her teal teary eyes, she glanced at him. He was turned the other way and Precious thought she heard him stifle a sob. Something clicked inside Precious-and she wasn't sure what-but she wrapped her arms around Dave's neck. And there she began to cry. Precious Hindert was filled with regret. She wished she had never met Mitchell, never had been such a flirt. She wanted to go back to the first day Dave and Precious met. To the night were they sat under the stars, and Precious first revealed signs of her human side. It all happened so long ago, she didn't know what she had until it was gone. "But Dave, I do forgive you. It was all my fault. Your gift means so much to me," she cried harder, wishing everything would just be over with. "You don't know how much I want to go back. I mean, yesterday some guy came onto me but I rejected him because . . . " she stopped crying for a moment, then looked him in the eyes. "Because you were on my mind." said Precious. Her eyelashes were wet with tears. Releasing Dave for a moment, she wiped them with a finger, then clutched him again. Ohhh, what a mess we made. Precious thought.

RP Location The Room of Requirement	Dave smiled a genuine smile when Precious told him that she was still thinking about him. Not only was she allowing her emotions to flow freely, as she only ever did very rarely, but she was confessing the same deep secrets that Dave had hidden within his subconsciousness as well. It was as if Precious was mirroring Dave's own emotions; their minds and hearts were intimately in sync. Dave bent his elbows, his arms still under Precious' and around her waist. He rubbed the length of her back with his fingers and pulled her closer when his hands hit her shoulders, embracing the back of her head with his hands, laying her face against his chest. Dave solemnly placed a kiss on the top of Precious' head, resting his cheek against the spot, the beautiful scent of her hair flooding his senses. Taking a deep breath, Dave released the back of Precious' head and unraveled his arms from around her middle. Tracing the neckline of her shirt with his finger and following it up to her neck, Dave embraced Precious' cheek in his palm, the other hand following and covering the other side, until he held her delicate head in his hands. Without a word, Dave stared into her eyes, willing the girl to give him the kiss to heal his wounds.

As he stared into her eyes, she stared into his. It was like the old days, when they were happy and affectionate towards each other. Well, now was her chance. With all the courage she could muster, she leaned in and kissed him. It was her last chance with Dave. It would be incredibly fun to brag about it to Aria and the rest. The contact between his and her lips caught him slightly by surprise, and he barely had time to react. As they separated, Dave exhaled softly, his eyes closed, his mouth still open. Without a second thought, Dave pulled Precious back into contact with him, almost aggressively, their lips entrenched in one another. Dave had never been one to really take the initiative when it came to girls, as half the time didn't have to work for them, but his attraction to Precious was almost animalistic, fueled by physical appetite in conjunction with the thought that his old girlfriend was back in his grasp. When finally his hunger had been sated, Dave withdrew from Precious' lips, holding her tight in his warm embrace, again enjoying the scent of her perfectly primed hair when he leaned his cheek against her head. As he stared at the dark brick walls of the dungeon corridors, Dave considered his future with Precious. As usual, love and attraction came at the most inopportune of times, where Dave obviously had previously arranged engagements for the ball, and he assumed Precious had the same. "It seems," Dave started, moving Precious' body away from his so she could look up at him, still gripping her waist, "That we've got some thinking to do." Dave would have loved nothing more than to whisk Precious away and go back to the way that things once were, but he knew that the old Precious wasn't what he wanted. This new, almost compassionate, Precious, was the girl that Dave had initially fallen in love with, and it was her absence from their relationship that had caused Dave to run away. "I guess we'll just have to leave it at that," Dave declared, releasing Precious. Running his finger along her neck and up to her chin, he placed yet another kiss on the surface of her lips before backing away. "Save me a dance at the ball, okay?" Dave told Precious, smiling to her, before disappearing back into the common room.

But then he kissed her back, and again-this time more aggressively. She enjoyed it. More than enjoyed it, she wanted more. But before she could do anything, he was gone. She sighed. Boy, that was unexpected. Now she felt as if her day was off to a good start. She could burst into a cheery song and wouldn't care.
