Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Fifth Year. This year, Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event, The Triwizard Tournament! However, these are dark times we live in, for the Dark Lord Azariah Amaranth has escaped the bonds which have kept him in Ministry custody, and has destroyed the Ministry in the plain sight of several muggles, effectively placing the Wizarding World under martial law and placing our very way of life in jeopardy. Strict curfews have been placed on all citizens, and now that school has started, no one--not students or staff--are allowed in or out of Hogwarts until further notice. So cancel any trips out you might have, because all students and staff must remain in, and everyone else must stay out. Now the Dark Lord is in preparation to topple the stability of both worlds and all races; to deal the final, shattering blow to the current world order. Why all this madness; this destruction and anarchy? Just what is Amaranth's ultimate goal? The first task has now ended. Christmas is here and we all know what that means: The Yule Ball will commence tonight. If your character is planning on attending and doesn't already have a date, be sure to snag one before all the good ones are gone! Today (Day 5) is Christmas day, so there is no class. We will have morning festivities before moving to lunch and freetime, which will then lead us to the night of the ball. You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. She saw that she was among the first people there. She sat down at one of the tables and waited for some food. God, I'm starving! Ginny thought.That had to be one of the longest History of Magic classes this year! What a drag... She sat down alone and waited for Cris, Jack, or anyone else, to join her. Daniela entered the Great Hall, stretching. "Hey Ginny." She greeted, taking a seat by her housemate. "Some lesson, huh? I wonder why Professor Aviza wasn't teaching. That was a bit unusual." She winked slightly, lowering her voice. "Congrats on getting asked out by Jack." She leaned back in her seat, a grin on her face, "Trust me, word travels fast in this school." Danny helped herself to some mashed potatoes, vaguely wondering where Oscar was. It wasn't like him to skip class. She poured herself some tea, taking a hearty sip. "Ah. That's just what I needed."

Food appeared on the tables, and Ginny started loading her plate with everything. She felt completely starved, as she hadn't gotten to eat much lunch, and she'd taken a little run during History of Magic.

He piled some food on his plate, before zoning out. What the heck is going on now. I like Flavia. Not Lucy. Definitely not Lucy. We're just friends. I'm taking Flavia to the Yule Ball. He sighed, shaking his blonde head. He needed a trim. His bangs were beginning to annoy the heck out of him. He took a bite of turkey, chewing thoughtfully. It was always boring when no one was at the Great Hall. At least, no one that he would associate with.

Katie strolled into the Great Hall, staring at the amazing ceiling that loomed above the four tables. There was no one sitting at the Ravenclaw table yet, so she decided to sit at the Gryffindor table on the far side of the room. There, Ginny and another Gryffindor girl sat together. "Hello!" she said to Ginny, "I hate Herbology! For some reason it always makes me really hungry!" she laughed. She grabbed a plate, set it in front of her, and poured herself some tea. "So," she began, placing her cup gently on the table, " You hungry?" she asked, eying down the bowl of salad. Katie had always eaten healthy, and it now had become a habit. Even though there was plenty of other foods on the table she might enjoy, there was no way she was going to touch them. Instead, she just sat there, waiting for a fellow Ravenclaw to join her.

She poured some water into her goblet, her eyes searching for anyone she knew. It appeared she was alone at the Hufflepuff table, so after she set down her goblet she began to admire her French-tip nails. Smiling to herself, she put her hand down and grabbed a plate. It wasn't like her to be so self-absorbed. She began humming to herself as she added salad to her plate.

She looked around, and saw, what she thought were some of her friends sitting in the Gryffindor table. She went towards them. "Hey Danny, Ginny, Katie... How are you guys?" The girl smiled at her friends and sat down. She then took a piece of bread and some butter, and started eating. Rosalina wasn't that kind of people who ate a lot at dinner, she was fine with a piece of bread and some hot chocolate.

Dave entered the great hall dressed in his flying gear with his brand new Nimbus 2020 in hand. He couldn't help but smile as younger students pointed at him and whispered, not only because there was no quidditch, but because of his new broom. Dave had saved up gift money from birthdays, Christmas, and Easter to purchase his new broom, which was currently the newest on the Nimbus line, and he still had to have his parents help him pay for it. It was all worth it, however, as it was almost guaranteed to increase his quidditch performance. Approaching the Slytherin table, Dave took a seat at the end and shoveled some food onto his plate, digging in and eating quickly so he could get out onto the pitch as soon as he could.

He meandered over to the Gryffindor table casually, but something odd caught his eye as he scanned the room; a Slytherin dressed in his quidditch uniform. "Apparently you're not the only one who has quidditch on the brain, Gin," Jack commented as he sat down, nodding his head in the direction of the Slytherin table. "Have you seen that guy's broom? Unreal."

She tittered her fingers as her friend sat down near her, Danny, and Katie. "I'm good, thanks. Class today was... interesting, wasn't it?" Ginny saw Dave walk in across the room and let out a sigh of relief. She wasn't the only one wearing something other than her uniform. She'd run to the bathroom after class and changed into her jeans, wanting to get out of Criselda's uniform. Plus, it would let her get out to the pitch faster. She was meeting everyone there after dinner. "Hey Jack," she said as he sat down across from her. "Apparently I'm not. But why the hell would he bring his fancy-schmancy broom to the table? Just to show off? I mean, God, he couldn't have left it in his dorm?" Ginny rolled her eyes, but then smiled. She didn't want to rant. And to be honest, she was a little jealous of his broom. "...different." she ended the sentence. The girl took another bite of her bread, then drank some hot chocolate. It's so good... and hot... Rosie thought to herself. She giggled in her head as she thought these words. Then smiled and continued eating.

Although, she wouldn't have been in that class today, anyways. "I fell asleep after lunch," Laney confessed. "I just didn't bother going to class. Herbology's not my favorite subject, anyway, so it's not like I'm horribly bummed." She laughed softly. "What happend in H of M? I heard stories in the halls about it. Was it really that bad? Everyone was buzzing about some fight..." Laney trailed off. What kind of idiots would fight in class? It was probably someone making stuff up. People did that a lot around here. When she finished she tied up her long, soft, hair into a pony tail. She stood up suddenly and picked up her bag. As she walked by Ginny, Katie dropped a note over her shoulder, so it rested inbetween Melanie and Ginny. If you need me... If you need me, I'll be by the lake. Ginny opened the note, and Laney looked over Ginny's shoulder at it. They both looked up and saw Katie leaving the Hall. Ginny looked at the girl's retreating form and wondered why she'd left so abruptly. She also wondered why Katie had left a note instead of just telling everyone. She probably wanted some alone time, but she'd invited either Ginny or Laney to come along. Ginny looked at her Ravenclaw friend and shrugged. The note could hve been meant for either of them. In the end, Ginny got up to see where Katie had gone. She reached across the table to squeeze Jack's hand, and she gave all her other friends one-armed hugs. "I'm leaving, guys. I'll see you later. I'll probably be down by the pitch by the time you're done, Jack." She picked up her jacket from the back of her chair and put it on. She made to smooth out her skirt but remembered once again that she wasn't wearing her uniform. Ginny walked out the door, headed for the lake. She was kind of bummed that Cris had never shown up; she needed help deciding what she was going to wear to the ball tomorrow. But she had all night for that.
