Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Kidnapped!

Tristan stood leaning against the wall just outside the secret entrance to the Recondite Room, trying to appear casual should anyone walk past. However he knew his attempt at nonchalancy (is that a word?) would falter under further scrutiny as there was absolutely nothing anywhere near him and therefore no obvious reason why he would be hanging about. He had sent owls to the people he trusted in each house to pass on to the people they trusted within their houses. They needed to be sure nobody was going to blab; not that the Professors would likely care, but one of the Aurors or someone from the Ministry might!

He checked his watch and saw it was approaching the indicated time as he checked his wand was still in his pocket.

Kane walked off the moving staircase and into the Fifth Floor Corridors. He expected to see Tristan somewhere, and he did. He was standing nonchalantly against a blank wall. Walking up to Tristan, Kane smiled. "Hey, Tris," he said happily. He hadn't spoken with Tristan much since the First Task. Maybe it was that fame eating him up. "So, this is where the Recondite Room is, hm? Never been in there myself, I think. I'd remember if I had."

OOC: Thanks, Addie.

ooc|| Actually Kane, Tristan should be the one using the word 'nonchalance'. Meanwhile, you should be using the word 'nonchalantly'.

ooc|| No problem!

Addie stepped off the staircase, entering the fifth floor corridors. The girl paused briefly, surveying her surroundings before making her way over to Tristan and Kane. "Wotcher." She smiled, wrapping her arms around Tristan. It seemed like forever since she'd seen him, what with classes and the tournament and all. It'd been even longer since she'd seen Kane. Sometimes she forgot just how busy they all were. Or maybe she was just beginning to emerge from her summer stupor.

"Any idea how many more we're waiting on? We're going to look pretty suspicious with a big group standing around here."

He nodded, "I know but where else do we wait? I owled Ian, Dave, Kiks, Emma and Hellius just before so waiting on them." He leaned down and kissed her gently on the lips, savoring the taste. He hadn't really seen her all day and it was nice to just be with her, even if Kane was still beside them. Her presence alone soothed him and it felt good having her with him again. "So got a date for the ball, Kane?" The Ball was almost upon them and he had heard people gossiping madly about who was taking who.

If we see a man glorifying his race, gender, or creed, we can understand there is nothing about himself that deserves glorification.

Hellius stepped up the last steps of the staircases and entered the fifth floor corridors a few minutes after Addie. After descending from the Astronomy Tower, Hellius had decided to stop by the Great hall for a last-minute reprise on his nourishment.

Still looming with the smell of tobacco, he sunk his teeth into a blueberry muffin and started chewing quietly. Crumbs fell randomly, most dropping onto his black and blue flannel.

Seeing Kane, Addie, and Tristan in the distance, Hellius blinked, and continued in their direction. He was expecting a larger turnout, yet the lack of people settled him. Crowded situations often made Hellius feel uneasy, as being cramped and stuffed into superficial social situations wasn't one of his hobbies.

Stopping a few steps from the collective, he stood for a moment, not saying a word, just staring in their direction. After taking another bite of his muffin, Hellius continued towards the wall. He quickly turned, leaned his back against the stones, and kicked his foot up, pressing the bottoms of his shoe against the facade.

He chewed.

Kane shrugged when Tristan asked if he had a date for the Yule Ball yet. "No, sadly. Haven't plucked up the courage to ask anyone. Of course you two will be going together, I assume?" he replied, turning in time to see Hellius arrive. He smelled of tobacco and blueberries, which may have had something to do with the fact that he held and chewed a blueberry muffin. "Hellius," Kane said, nodding. The Gryffindor always seemed odd to Kane. He never got to know him very well, and as far as he could remember he could not remember for the life of him if he had ever spent any time alone with the boy.

So they were waiting on a few others. Ian, Dave, Katriane, and Emma. It seemed to Kane that all of the students in the school who showed themselves most competent, or at least, the most useful, had been invited. Tristan obviously expected whomever he had owled to bring guests, but Kane couldn't think of anybody. He felt that he had let Tristan down. After all, this was about kids learning to protect themselves, wasn't it? Not just some after-class club. "So, we're waiting on those four, are we? Now that Hellius has arrived."

Hopefully more would arrive soon.

"Of course. That is to say, I certainly hope Tris is taking me. He hasn't actually asked yet." She grinned teasingly, raising an eyebrow at her boyfriend. It felt good to be with him again, relaxing. They'd have to find more time together in their busy schedules.

"Hey Hellius." Addie smiled, glancing over to the fellow Gryffindor. "It's not much right now... But it's a start, we can bring more people in after meetings have started up." The girl commented thoughtfully, gazing around their small group.

After cramming the last few bites of his pastry into his mouth, Hellius roughly swallowed, making a rather vibrant lumping sound as it squeezed past his trachea. He coughed, leaned his upper body forward, and beat his fist against the location of the over-sized clump of food within his chest.

He continued to cough, on and off, for the next few moments, and he tried to hold back the spasms of his throat muscles.

"God, shit," he cleared his throat, and the strength of the spasms were lowered significantly. Hellius took a few deep breaths and then finished with a large exhalation.

"Right then," he rebounded, "Erm, numbers shouldn't really be an issue right now. Methods of organization and secrecy should be worked out before we recruit probable... threats to the, erm, structure."

Crossing his arms, Hellius looked around the others.

"I mean, what," he threw his arms into the air for added emphasis, "This is the first meeting in two-- three years?" He recrossed his arms. "Instead of Julian-plus-posse --with occasional additions from myself-- f*cking up whomever at random, there's a literal threat now. Might as well have the technicalities worked out before we do anything real."

Fera Collis
Fifth Year

Out of breath, Fera stumbled forward into the Fifth Floor Corridor. Waiting a second, she looked up, seeing that many was standing there. A scrawny know-it-all, the 'Champion', Surla, Addie-goody-two-shoes. So this is the Defense Club. Fera wondered if she should laugh, pretend like nothing, or try act somewhat normal. She didn't know what she wanted, and ended with a awkward mix. Raising her hand halfly, her face with a expression of irritance, Fera croaked, "Surla said there would be cake,"

With a short nod, she looked over at them, wondering how they'd react. Fera really didn't care, it would be interesting none the less.

Still tired from running away from the pitch, Oscar staggered down the Fifth Floor Corridor, determined to talk to Addy, who he could have sworn came this way. Considering the events that had unfolded on the Quidditch Pitch, it seemed only fair that the Captain of the Gryffindor Team should know, or at least thats what Oscar thought. However, as Oscar finally managed to catch up with Addy, he realised that she'd clearly come down this corridor to meet someone, as there was a small group of students stood around talking. "Um hey guys....what's going on?" Oscar looked a bit embarrassed, not suprising as he must have appeared to be some kind of stalker.

A siren rang through the school - a definite correlation to the imminent lockdown. Hellius frowned, pushing himself off the wall. He turned to Addie and Tristan.

"Hey, if you don't want us to be caught by the patrols, right now would be an absolutely great time to get us inside."

Adjusting the collar of his flannel and brushing the remanent crumbs from the front of his shirt, Hellius widened his legs to just about shoulder height. Slipping his hands into his back pockets, the Gryffindor began to bounce anxiously.

He glanced at the Gryffindor boy who entered the hall.

"And I suppose that he's going to have to come in with us."

The siren blared out, startling Oscar. He glanced around, wondering how the others would react. As Hellius announced that they'd be going somewhere, Oscar knew that he'd have to go with them. Not even thinking about the possible consequences, he nodded his agreement to Hellius and waited around, curious to see this "Recondite Room"

OOC: Oscar, it requires several passwords spoken simultaneously to enter the Recondite Room. One couldn't just enter.

BIC: Kane nodded to both Fera and Oscar as they walked into the hall, then nearly jumped as the siren rang throughout the castle. It hadn't been that long since they were sent into martial lockdown every night, so that may have been the reason that Kane was still surprised by the loud ringing.

"This is it? I honestly thought there'd be more," Kane said, looking around. As Hellius explained that they might as well enter the Recondite Room, Kane nodded. "We don't want to get caught, do we?"

Margo jogged through the corridors, trying to make it back to the common room as soon as possible. Part-way down the fifth floor corridor, she noticed a group of about five students gathered somewhat suspiciously. Margo approached them, lazily waving one hand. "Hey guys. What's the mob for?"

Diana came sprinting--quietly--down the hall. She'd been detained in detention by the Arithmancy Professor for falling asleep in class.

"Hey, sorry for the near--tardiness."
she said quietly. A few tendrils of her honey-brown hair had escaped her bun. Good, she'd just caught them.

Ian entered the corridors via the stairway. He spotted Nightshade and turned to him.

"Is this it?" said Ian, dryly, looking around. "I sincerely hope you're not planning to hold future meetings in this hallway. The aurors are gone to lock down the school, but they'll be back momentarily."

Frowning, he took out the note he'd received and read it again.

"What's a recondite room?" he asked with the signature left eyebrow arched over his heavy-hooded eye. The term was completely foreign to him.

The Slytherin wasn't even sure why he was even there, other than he supposed he wanted to see just what Tristan's little group was about. He came because he was asked. He wouldn't split on them unless they gave him a reason to, which he fully expected of them. If Tristan wanted to create a group wherein people could practice defending themselves, then well-and-good, but Ian got the idea that these guys just might end up doing something stupid. Not that he cared, but he didn't want anyone outside those like himself--those with the elementium--dragged into something under false pretenses. They should know everything before doing something as stupid as following Nightshade.

Addie glanced to Fera briefly, ignoring the comment, eyes taking in the group with a new found urgency. They had to hurry it up. She gave Oscar a curious look as he showed up, nodding to him briefly. Silently the girl wondered why he'd followed her.

Addie tensed at the sound of the alarm, drawing her wand out and scanning the corridor. She practically groaned at Margo's arrival. What was with all the drop ins? They really needed to find a better meeting spot. "I guess Margo'll have to tag along as well, and don't worry about it Di." Addie smiled tightly, as another of her housemates showed up. One that was invited this time, at the very least. Then again, the more the merrier, so long as they held their tongue.

She nodded to Ian briefly, grip on her wand tightening. "If anyone's late and gets caught out here alone it'll look suspicious, but easier to explain than all of us. Hopefully they'll have the good sense not to show up if they're running this late. Let's get in there." Addie commented hurriedly.

Kidnapped!

Tristan nodded in agreeance with Addie, a little nervous now that several random students had stumbled across them without seemingly being invited. It wasn't that they weren't welcome but rather none of the people he trusted had sought them out which he assumed meant they didn't overtly trust them. If word got out and they were caught there was likely to be mass repercussions, possible even expulsion. He nodded at one statue beside them, indicating Addie to take it whilst he approached the other.

He held three fingers up, counting down to one before speaking his password. As if the door had only been opened ten minutes earlier, the hidden passageway he hadn't seen in nearly five years reappeared between the pair, revealing the mysterious Recondite Room that only Riley and a handful of others had ever stumbled across. She had been reading yet another book back in their first year when she came across a volume detailing all of Hogwarts secret rooms and passages written by the Founders themselves. In an attempt to have a secret party they had snuck alcohol into this very room and partied into the night.

But now they were using the room for far more serious purposes as he lead the way, his lit wand held high, into the Recondite Room.

Addie nodded to him, taking her place before the statue and watching him count down. She spoke the password at the same moment as Tristan did, allowing a smile of relief to touch her features as the door appeared between them.

The girl lit her own wand silently, following Tristan and the others into the Recondite Room.
