It is now: Year 5 - Day 5 - Lunch/Freetime before the Yule Ball (December 25, 2011 A.D.)

Next: The Yule Ball

Soon: Night time/Martial Lockdown

Today's Forecast: Warm with light snow.

Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Fifth Year. This year, Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event, The Triwizard Tournament! However, these are dark times we live in, for the Dark Lord Azariah Amaranth has escaped the bonds which have kept him in Ministry custody, and has destroyed the Ministry in the plain sight of several muggles, effectively placing the Wizarding World under martial law and placing our very way of life in jeopardy. Strict curfews have been placed on all citizens, and now that school has started, no one--not students or staff--are allowed in or out of Hogwarts until further notice. So cancel any trips out you might have, because all students and staff must remain in, and everyone else must stay out. Now the Dark Lord is in preparation to topple the stability of both worlds and all races; to deal the final, shattering blow to the current world order.

Why all this madness; this destruction and anarchy? Just what is Amaranth's ultimate goal?

The first task has now ended. Christmas is here and we all know what that means: The Yule Ball will commence tonight. If your character is planning on attending and doesn't already have a date, be sure to snag one before all the good ones are gone!

Today (Day 5) is Christmas day, so there is no class. We will have morning festivities before moving to lunch and freetime, which will then lead us to the night of the ball.

Hospital Wing; Day 4

Was it really that bad? wondered June, her puzzled blue eyes resting on her best friend. Her loose, blonde hair tickled against her bare neck as she stretched forward to open the door into the hospital wing. She wimpered as the old, wooden door opened with creak, but took the step within. She pulled up the ends of her little mouth in a weak smile, "Thanks,"

The atmosphere of the room, with the stink of potions and the ice cold air made her feel uncomfortable, even if Minnie had done quite a lot to make the room more cheery. Running her hand along a counter, she waited for Miranda to show up.

Minnie came a-bustling in, long skirts brushing the floor and singing about a spoonful of sugar.

"Hello, Miss Brooks!" she said cheerily, snapping her fingers, the hospital-issue beds folding their own sheets.

"What ails you, lass?"

Rodrigo shrugged his shoulders and flashed a small smile at his friend. "No problem," he said quietly. In truth, Rod was unsure as to whether June's problem was as bad as the Gryffindors had made it out to be. Sure, he had noticed some changes in her, but it wasn't anything that stood out so much. But now that the issue had caused a ruckus over lunch, well Rodrigo couldn't just let it pass. He felt lęke he should do something about it anyway, even if it only made the slightest of differences.

Rod followed June, and stepped inside the Hospital Wing. Biting his lip, Rodrigo nodded to the nurse. He hadn't really made a habit of comimg to the place often, not unless he desperately needed to. Strangely, Rodrigo found himself a little nervous. Licking his lips, he stood awkwardly next to June, and folded his arms across his chest. He felt a little idle in the room, and a part of him hoped that the issue would be sorted quickly... but somehow that didn't seem likely.

Rodrigo looked at Minnie with a small smile on his face. He presumed that she would be able to sort this better that Daniela, Margo, and even himself. After all, she was a professional.

Letting her lip roll between her teeth, she looked from the Nurse to Rodrigo. Mentally asking him to say it, June gave up as she felt the woodpecker of her mind peck her little idea into pieces, Are you silly? Did you actually think that would work? Wincing as she managed to bite her lip a little too hard, she forced herself to look over at the nurse. It was her who had bought it over her. If they were right, that was, and June was pretty sure that they weren't. Rubbing the back of her hand against her sore cheek, she sighed, "I sort of lost my sight for a short time during lunch, and yeah," Shoulders lifted in a shrug, she looked over at Rodrigo again, wondering if he was going to tell about the little argument. June found it unnecessary, it wasn't true, just wild guesses by Daniela.

Daniela. June felt a wave of guilt drown her, force her stomach into a painful mush. She really oughtn't have been so rude, so mean. She scolded herself, and promised to apologize later on.

Minnie frowned.

She went over and patted a hospital bed.

"Up you go, lass." she said, her accent clipping her words. Once June was seated, Minnie wordlessly performed the Lumos spell, aiming the beam of light directly into June's pupil.

The light reflected at the same spot in both eyes, ruling out an eye problem.

((Corneal Light Reflex Test))

"Hmm..." said Minnie. "Have you been getting in an equal portion of vegetables and protein at meals? I know you teenagers tend to gravitate toward the more unhealthy choices."

Rubbing her eyes, June winced, "Uh, I... I haven't had a appetite for a while," her voice stung in her throat, and her stomach growled at the mention of food, "I've not been very hungry, you see, so," June blushed, biting her lip.

Miranda frowned.

She lightly placed her wand on the top of June's head. When it beeped, Miranda clicked her tongue.

"Your Body Mass Index shows that you're underweight, Miss Brooks. Is there any particular reason why you haven't been eating much lately? Stress? Anxiety?" Minnie was the very picture of concern.

"You lost your sight earlier, June, because there weren't enough nutrients in your body to sustain your sight. You *must* have a certain amount of vegetables, proteins, grains and sugars per day. Next time, the effects could be more severe."

Minnie sighed.

"I will be monitoring your intake through the house elves for the rest of this month. If you can maintain a substantial diet, then there won't be any need for hospitalization. I hope if you don't wish to confide the reason for your anorexia to myself, then to a friend, like Mr. Caparelli here. "

Okay, perhaps what June was doing wasn't healthy, but it couldn't be that bad? She just wanted a nice, slim stomach. To be pretty. She would stop once she was good enough, she was certain, and besides she did eat. Just not often. An apple or such once a day was more than enough, those african children ate much less, didn't they?

And yet, Minnie looked like June had just figured out she had self inflicted cancer, if that even existed. With a pout though, June looked down, "I'm not... I'm not anorexic," images of skeleton-thin, pale girls flashed onto her retinas, "I don't know why everyone is making such a deal over it. I'm fine. You're all making mountains out of molehills!"

Her arms flung out, her little hand hitting the edge of a counter, "Ouch!" Forming her mouth to a o, she gently blew at it, waiting for the sting to go over. She didn't see the need to monitor her via house elves, and hospitalization was over the top. Why was everyone overreacting so much? There was a war going on for christ sake, you-know-who had destroyed the ministry! But of course, June's diet was far more important. She groaned, and shook her hand, "Can I go now?"

Nurse Minnie pursed her lips.

"We want you to be healthy, June. There's a war coming, and we need every able healthy witch and wizard to help. But you may go. Have a good evening, children."

Minnie was worried about June. But unless June saw a problem with her eating habits, it would be hard toget her to change them.

Rodrigo had remained silent for most of what had happened since the pair of Hufflepuffs had entered the Hospital Wing. He bit his lips at points, and perhaps his hands were clasped a little too tightly together. It was obvious that he was worried - he'd have to be an idiot, or something of the sort, if he wasn't. But Rodrigo didn't like to let it show, not when he wanted to help his friend through this.

"Have a good evening, children,"

Rodrigo hadn't realised that time had passed so quickly. His eyes followed June as she left the room, and Rod sighed. There was still much to be done and Rodrigo realised that it wasn't going to be easy to convince June and make her change the habit she'd fallen into.

"Thank you," Rod said quickly, before darting out of the wing.
