| Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice |
| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Kiki entered the Great Hall, and since she was always the first one in, got to choose what went on her plate. Late students had no choice. She put some toast in the toaster and poured some apple juice for herself and !Xabbu and waited for others to arrive. |

Flavia entered the Great Hall, stretching after that long, boring Divination lesson. The Slytherin table was still relatively empty. She poured herself some mysterious-looking juice and helped herself to a sandwich, waiting for the others to arrive. |

!Xabbu followed shortly behind Katriane. He managed to get out of having to duel much in class. He doubted if anyone even noticed him there trading simple spells with a spotty, slight-looking Hufflepuff boy with mousy hair whose name, !Xabbu had learned after asking, was Glenn. On the whole, !Xabbu didn't like dueling. He kept agonizing over the possibility that he might hurt Glenn that he never let off anything worse than the tickling hex. Glenn, however, was dangerous only in his ineptitude. !Xabbu was the victim of a miscast jelly-legs jinx, which, instead of paralyzing the muscles in the bushman's legs, had caused him to simply bounce high into the air and land with his back on a desk. It hurt quite a bit, but the Hufflepuff was so apologetic and !Xabbu ended up feeling sorry for him more than anything, and told him that he was fine. !Xabbu resolved, however, that there would be no more dueling practice between them. Back still quite sore (it would probably hurt worse tomorrow), !Xabbu sat beside Katriane, cringing slightly. "Hey," he said, in his usual soft tone of voice. He gave her a peck on the cheek, "How were your classes?" he asked, "We've got History of Magic together," he added, sounding hopeful. History of Magic was generally regarded as the most boring subject next to Divination. !Xabbu, however, possessed of comparatively longer attention span than that of his classmates, tended to get more out of the subject than most. Still, he wished it could be more exciting. In some ways, it was like the old stories of his people come true--not really, but tales of magnificent creatures the likes of which !Xabbu's ancestors had only dreamed of actually existing with stories of their own deeds which shaped the world much in the way as the First People of San belief had...these things brought the bushman a modicum of joy and comfort. It made him feel closer to his own people's past, even if the connection was a vague and perhaps imaginary one. !Xabbu was reminded of his essay, the one he wrote for Tortal. Perhaps he had said too much? Still, !Xabbu felt the need to write about it. He needed to do so because writing about the spirit close to him--the legends and songs and traditions and stories which held, to !Xabbu, the closest thing the bushman could think of to what Tortal had described as "pure magic". |

Kiki smiled softly, looking as her grilled cheese heated itself, a bowl of tomato soup materializing in front of her. After delicately placing her napkin in her lap, she picked up her soup spoon and blew lightly on the hot liquid. "Yes...I hope there's something more interesting in History of Magic." she said quietly. "Xabbu..." she began softly. Kiki didn't quite know how to begin. About 12 boys had asked her to the Yule Ball, and!Xabbu hadn't asked her once. She kept politely declining their invitations inhope that he would at least ask. But Kiki knew her boyfriend. He wasn't the dress-robes type. And she didn't want to force him to do anything he didn't want to do. She had to go. Her sister was Champion. "...I wanted to ask you about the Yule Ball. Are we going together...? Or did you have other plans...or something..." She kept stirring her soup, not looking up. Rule number one. Don't discuss other men's invitations with your boyfriend. |

"The...Yule Ball?" !Xabbu suddenly remembered. Oh. Right. Oh no! !Xabbu hadn't given the ball a second thought. He was wrapped up in what he was doing in that room that he'd found. Katriane probably resented the fact that he did not ask her. What must she think of him now? And he DID want to go with her. Of course he did. He just felt like a...what do the British kids say? Git? Yeah, a git for not thinking about the Yule Ball enough to ask her. "I...forgot," he said, sounding shamed, "I'm sorry. To be honest, it slipped my mind that there was going to be a ball. I do want to go with you, but if someone already asked you...well, I guess I deserve it." And of course someone had asked her by now. There was no doubt in his mind that someone had already asked the part-veela to the ball. |

Alyssa enters the magnificant Great Hall with a smile. Once again the ceiling was fantastic. Ever since her first year here, she had always loved the Great Hall. After a few more seconds, she snapped back to reality. Not many people were here yet, Just Kiki and another Gryffindor boy. Alyssa approached them and sat across from them on the other side of the table. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything, but can I sit here?" She asked them. She waited for a few seconds for their reply, and then reached for some soup. She poured a little into her bowl and blew on it. It was still very hot, so instead she grabbed some toast. She munched on it while she waited for the other's to arrive for lunch. |

"Don't be silly." she said in French. "I have a boyfriend. It would be in bad taste to accept the arm of another man, unless you weren't able to attend." Kiki said. "But I don't want you to be uncomfortable. So you don't have have to go." She took a bite of her grilled cheese. After chewing, she continued. "I just don't want to seem like I'm expecting anything from you. We've only been going out for a few months, so I didn't think this sort of thing was your cup of tea--especially since you've been so busy lately." |

Yes. !Xabbu had been busy lately, but he remembered that Katriane had agreed to help him with his project. She cared about his interests. !Xabbu wanted to return the favor. And he really did want to go the ball with her. He smiled. "Katriane?" he asked, "Will you go to the ball with me?" |

Rosalina entered the Great Hall. She was starving, for some reason. But she wasn't sure why. She had had a big, good breakfast. Hadn't she? Oh wait, she hadn't. She got up very late and didn't have time to eat. That's what happens when you stay awake 'till 1 am... she thought to herself. The girl started walking quicker towards the table. She didn't have time to think about anything else. But wait, she didn't want to sit alone. Rosie looked around for someone to sit with. She was actually looking for Daniela. But her best friend was not around. After a few seconds, Rose's stomach started making noise. So she decided to just sit down on the Hufflepuff table and wait for one of her friends to appear. As she did, she saw that salad she really liked. Without wasting time, Rosalina put some on her plate and started eating. |

Kiki didn't answer at first. She set her soup spoon down, as her soup was still far too hot. Peeking at him from under her whitened bangs, Kiki swiftly grasped his red and gold tie and literally pulled his lips directly to hers. It wasn't long enough to be especially graphic, and she wasa prefect, so... Reluctantly, Kiki pulled back, saying "I accept." Katriane resumed manually stirring her soup, winking at the especially crestfallen Ravenclaw whose dreams had been dashed only moments beforehand. |

!Xabbu seemed a little stunned when Katriane released him. For one thing, !Xabbu was pretty sturdy, and yet Kat had no trouble pulling him where she wanted him to be. It seemed to end abruptly, however. For the best, he would suppose after a moment. At that point immediately following the kiss, however, !Xabbu seemed a little shell-shocked. It was as if he'd never been kissed before. It was her scent, the taste of her lips on his, and something else. For all that !Xabbu had thought he was used to it, he supposed that her power still had a way of sneaking up on him once in a while. Everything about her seemed fresh and new when that happened. It always uneased him, too, when she (usually unintentionally) turned the "veela-charm" on him, but only afterwards, when he realized that at least part of his reactions to her were under the influence of a kind of magic. Granted, it was a magic Katriane couldn't completely control, and she was always a somewhat flighty (the bushman thought of her this way in only the best of connotations) girl, so !Xabbu could not hold that against her. He knew she cared about him, and so he knew the "charm" was more than a trick. And in the end, though it would be in poor taste to admit it, he did enjoy it. Was it bad to be so lustful? Chastity wasn't exactly a major virtue of !Xabbu's people, but still he knew his mother would frown on such behavior with a young girl. Such a thing was irresponsible. But it wasn't like they were taking part in anything more than "snogging", as it is colloquially referred to. There were other reasons than the obvious consequences why they shouldn't partake in this behavior, though. It was considered improper, even by decadent western standards, for anyone as young as them to be courting and living together. ESPECIALLY if their relationship had been more like that of siblings previously. He'd lived with the Quicompoixs as foreign guest students since their first year. The two of them had met when they were both eleven. Her parents would throw him out if they knew. And yet, it was hard to resist her. And not all of that was in unnatural charm and enchanted blood alone. !Xabbu was sure that he really did love her. Yeah, that sounded right. He smiled again, after realizing that all of that had actually happened. The kiss. His realization. It might be outside his personality to think so, but damn the consequences. "So..." he said, grabbing a grilled cheese sandwich for himself, "I suppose I'll have to write Pierre and Helene and ask if they can send me my dress robes." !Xabbu could buy some new ones, but he was never the sort to buy something new when the old was still usable. The Quicompoixes often had social parties at their residence, and though !Xabbu never felt particularly comfortable at--or even really a part of--these events, he always complied with his foreign host parents' wishes that he be presentable for them in some dress robes. As such, he owned a few, and he always kept the things he owned in good shape. There was no reason, by his logic, to purchase new ones. |

Kiki nodded, taking a sip of her soup. "I suppose so. I'm glad you're taking me." Though !Xabbu was immersed in a foreign culture, he was the kind of man who would still take her to a silly function. She knew that he didn't enjoy going to stuffy social events--and she knew that with her sister around, the Yule Ball would be anything but stuffy. They'd dance a few times, take pictures, then they'd take their leave. She wouldn't make him stay the entire time. "What time are we going to..." she lowered her voice. "...see that thing you wanted me to see." |

Oscar walked into the Great Hall. Daniela had quickly gone to her room, so Oscar entered alone. He spied a prime pair of seats on the Gryffindor table and walked over to them. He took a seat next to Alyssa before turning to her and saying "Hey, is it cool for me to sit here?" Technically he could sit there no matter what she said, but it was always polite to ask. Oscar took a sip of pumpkin juice, trying to calm the butterflies in his stomach. At last, he and Daniela were about to talk about them. Personally Oscar had no doubts at all about his feelings for Danny. She was smart, funny, kind and so beautiful that he found it difficult to stop thinking about her. Hopefully they would work out.....or Oscar didn't know what he would do.

Aria walked into the Great Hall, taking a seat at the Slytherin Table. "I wonder when Dave will get here." she thought, while taking a long draught from her goblet. She glanced around, seeing who was in the Great Hall already. She noticed the Loughlin boy sitting on the Gryffindor Table. He was the one who'd yelled at Dave in class. "That brat should mind his own business." She stared at him, trying to catch his eye. "This lunchtime should be interesting" thought Aria. Not only could she talk to Dave, before maybe going somewhere more.....private with him, but she'd hopefully get to see Dave and Precious officially break up. Even though Dave had been very clear earlier, it was difficult to tell how Precious was going to respond to this.

With her head hung low, Bex rushed over to the Ravenclaw table, and sat alone at the end, saving places for Jay and Harry, thats if they were going to sit by her that is. Ever since Harry met Eve, he'd ignored her. He was still her friend, but she couldn't help feeling slightly jealous. Pouring herself a glass of sweet smelling juice, she put her bag down beside her and thought about the Yule Ball. Harry was very obviously going to take Eve, and Jay was going with Harmony. Sighing, picked up a sandwich and nibbled on it slowly, her mind thinking. How was she going to style her hair for the Yule Ball? Bex hunted through her bag and produced her latest copy of her hair magazines, and flicked through. |

Nikolai yawned, entering the Great Hall. He strode over to where Flavia was sitting, glancing around the great hall. It was still relatively empty. He slid into the seat across from Flavia, grinning at her with raised eyebrows. "So what did you think of that Divination lesson?" He poured himself some foul looking juice, before grabbing a piece of toast. He was starving! |

Daniela grinned, entering the Great Hall and bounding over to the Gryffindor table. "Hey Oscar! Hey Alyssa!" She took the seat next to Oscar, grabbing herself some bacon. "What did you guys think of DADA?" She asked the groups as a whole. Then she remembered Oscar's incident and lowered her voice, "What the heck was Anya's problem during that class? I'm telling you, she's a psycho!" She smiled slightly when she remembered that they were going to talk about 'them'. Danny was sure that it was going to work out between them. |

Oscar beamed as Daniela sat next to him. Although they'd only been apart for about 5 minutes, it felt like an eternity to the love-struck Loughlin. "Well I wish I'd actually had a chance to duel, but I've always loved DADA." Oscar looked round briefly, checking Anya wasn't in the Great Hall before replying. "I have no idea, she just ripped my sleeve and then started acting like I'd asked her to be my partner? I don't think she means any harm though." Oscar waited until Daniela had finished eating before taking her hand in his, squeezing it reassuringly. "Um...can we talk?" It was make or break time, but somehow the Butterflies had calmed down in his stomach, just from seeing Daniela. |
