Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Sixth Year

She knew it was dumb. After all, she was a fith year--she should be burried in books, staying after class, practically camping in the Library and otherwise stressing in preperation for the infamous O.W.L.s. Those tests decided her entire life! They dictated what classes she could take, what jobs she could get, how long the inevitable lecture from her father over her grades would be this summer...O.W.L.s were supposed to be all fith years thought about, right?

Then why could she be found, not in her Divination class, but crunching through the last remains of the previous night's frost? Ella had never been a very...academic person. Sure, she was fairly smart, and some might even consider her good at Practical magic, but when it came to actually trying to applying herself...well, Ella found it much more appealing to daydream. Even in Charms, a class that some might even say she was tallented at and could easily be the top in if she tried, Ella often found it hard to concentrate. So far she had managed to pass, however, but a nagging voice in her head kept reminding her that the day was fast approching that she was going to regret slacking so much in school...

Wrinking her nose at this less-than-optimistic thought, Ella quickly pushed it aside and tried to concentrate on happier ideas, such as the approach of Christmas. She normally stayed at Hogwarts over the break, and this year would be no exception (although, she though dryly, one of the main reasons for her avoiding comming home for Christmas would be at Hogwarts as well this year). However, unlike other years, most everyone in the school would be joining her this year sue to the Yule Ball, which was going to be held Christmas Eve according to the rumors. Her mother had sent a new pair of dress robes just a few days previous, and so now the only thing left was a date...

Had the Ball taken place a few months ago, Ella would have been quite content to merely sit in a corner, drinking punch or talk to a few people while mentally ranting and raving about how stupid thing like that were. Things change, however, and a thought or, rather, a hope, that had formed long ago in the back of her mind was becomming harder and harder to ignore.

Since the First Task, Ella had only been able to speak to Piotr in passing or at meals. In that time, though, she had gone from denial to acceptance of the fact that she (along with half the girls in the castle, she found herself thinking bitterly) was attracted to the Durmstrang champion. Was she kidding herself, or was there a possibility that he felt the same way? After all, he seemed to enjoy talking to her, and he had invited her to the ship on Halloween...

Ella paused in her wanderings, which had taken her to the edge of the forrest, near the old Gamekeeper's hut. Here and there, charred ramains from the fiendfyre or marks from spells were still visable, reminders that this Trouble the world was in the middle of didn't stop at Hogwart's gates. Ella sighed and closed her eyes, thoughtfully. What was she doing, worrying things like grades and whether or not a boy liked her? Things like that hardly seemed important when she compared it to the Prophet's headlines.

Then again. she thought, brushing off the front stoop of the hut before sitting. Maybe it's better to concentrate on other things...if all you think about is what's wrong with the world, you'll be in Saint Mungo's, screaming before the week is over...
