| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Rodrigo chuckled a little and flapped his hand. "No, don't worry, my robes are pretty much dry now anyway," He didn't want to make Beth feel bad about squirting him with a load of water in their previous lesson, and it was drying pretty fast. Rod listened with wide eyes as Bannistar spoke to the class. As the centaur came to the end of his speech, Rodrigo felt a little shocked. He would be surprised if any teacher wanted them to cheat in their OWLs, let alone Banni. But if it gave them a chance of passing, then Rod was happy to go along with it, even if it did mean he'd feel a little stupid. "Hmm," Rod mumbled as he looked across to June. "I think she's worried about something," Call it intuition or whatever, but Rodrigo had seen that look on her face before. "I'll talk to her later... or maybe you could?" he suggested, changing his gaze from June to Beth again. "And sure!" He exclaimed. Rodrigo was pleased that he got to work with Beth, she was one of his close friends after all. June looked like she was going to go with Kiki anyway, so Rod was happy to work with someone else for a change. |

Whitney started to look around for someone to work with. Most people were already in a group, so there wasn't many people to choose from. She stood up and strolled over to a desk belonging to a Hufflepuff boy, Who she thought was called Isaac."Hi" she began nervously, "Are you working with anyone?" She waited for him to respond. |

Kiki smiled at June as she gripped the fast-scribbling quill in her hand. "Of course we can work together, silly." she nudged June. "And to show you that I'm confident, you're going to go first." |

June pouted, "Can't you? Because..." she racked her mind for a good excuse, but found she had none, "Please?" June swallowed while raising herself up, her eyes glued to Kiki with a sad, begging expression. Before Kiki had time to reply, June darted over to the box, looking down at the many crystal balls. Taking one up, June gasped, the cold material almost making her drop it. Whining a little to herself on how heavy it was, June clumsily scurried back to Kiki and dropped the ball onto the ground once she was certain it wouldn't break of the impact. Sitting down again, she resumed her begging expression, "Please?" |

Banni's voice filled through the classroom and made the hair on Isaac's neck stand on end. He had great respect for the centaur, more so then he had for some of his other professors. His mind began to drift when a picture of Tortal swum to the front of Isaac's mind. Beginning to ponder how and when this man learned so much about the theory behind magic, a guilty feeling cleared his mind when he realized that he wasn't listening to Bannishtar's lecture. He straightened up and re focused his eyes. "So, pair up into groups and grab a crystal ball from the box over here beside me and all of you work on your acting skills." Still copying down the key notes on Crystallomancy, he paused from scratching his quill on the parchment. Looking up and seeing most of the other Hufflepuffs had already found partners. He spotted that Colette was still free, he began to clear his throat. Then "Hi, Are you working with anyone?" Isaac lifted his head as Alexa stood over him. He smiled, not wanting to be rude or off putting. He responded "Sure," While standing up, he flashed a quick apologetic look to Colette. He then turned back to Alexa, "I'll go get the crystal ball then." Making his way over to the box that Bannishtar had placed on the ground. Ahh, atleast Alexa is quite good at Divination..." He thought as he picked up the crystal ball and started back to the group of Hufflepuffs. The ball was lighter then he expected and had a slightly cold touch to his skin like it had been left outside all night. Sitting back down in his original seat, he turned to his partner. Thinking about how it would be so cliche to say something like, "Ladies first.", he looked up at her and pleaded, "Do you want to show me how it's done? I'm not great shakes at Divination." He flashed his smile that had got him out of all too many tough situations and waited for her response. Edited by Isaac Wilshire, Oct 11 2009, 01:40:16 PM.

"Sure, I'll go first." Whitney replied and took the crystal ball from Isaac. She sat down, closed her eyes, and imagined the colored numbers Professor Bannishtar had spoke about, red 7, orange 6, yellow 5, green 4, blue 3, purple 2, violet 1. After a few seconds, a tingling feeling starting in her fingers. She opened her eyes and peered into the crystal ball. "Well, I see...," After a few seconds the cyrstal ball turned blue in her hands. "Whoa! What does this mean?" Whitney thought for a minute.... "Well, If i remember right, on a mood ring blue means in love or romantic. So something romantic is going to happen to me and I'm gonna fall in love. Well that makes no sense because i barely know anyone. It's got to be wrong!" |

Beth almost breathed a sign of relief as Rodrigo assured her he was ok. Still, she doubted he would scold her even if he had icicles dangling from his nose. "I could try," said Beth, glancing towards June who was now working with Kiki. "But she can be even more stubborn than me sometimes," she smiled, trying to lighten the mood. She felt that Rodrigo was worried about June as much as her, maybe even more. Beth went to get the crystal ball from the box and set it down on a tree stump between her and Rodrigo. "I'll give it a try later," continued Beth about June, "but if it doesn't work, it's your turn. You can always cheer her up." She looked down at the ball she brought. Useless but pretty. "Would you like to start?" she asked Rod with a grin, "because I really don't know how to do this." |

Kiki nodded, then lifted the crystal ball in her hand, and peered at it quizzically. The enchanted mist was rolling around, and she blinked as the orb turned yellow in her hands. "Uh..." she began, arching an eyebrow at it. "Yellow means--June, what does yellow mean? Look in the text..." |

Rodrigo shrugged his shoulders and picked up the crystal ball. As he held it in one hand, Rod resisted the urge to throw it up in the air, or ask Beth to join him in a game of catch - seeing how it didn't seem appropriate for the lesson. Smiling at the thought, Rod looked from Beth, to the ball, and back again. "So we have to work on our acting skills, and that means we have to pretend that whatever we see means something, right?" Rod said nervously. He passed the crystal ball from one hand to the other, and picked up the textbook with his free hand. Luckily, Rodrigo had left it out on the page they'd been reading in class, so there was no need for him to go leafing through the book. Once he'd finished reading the text over, Rod put the book back down on the tree stump and looked at Beth. "Well, I think that whatever I see and what it means will be individual to me, so I guess that makes the whole thing a little easier..." Rodrigo felt his cheeks flush a light pink as he heard himself speaking. What he was saying was merely guess-work to try and help him feel better about doing a task, which he really had no idea about. Rodrigo frowned, and placed his hands at opposite ends of the crystal ball. He tried to relax as he stared into it, but still felt a little silly in doing so. Rod gazed into the ball, and all of a sudden, he did start to feel a little different. All sorts of higgledy-piggledy blurs started to form in front of his eyes. At first, he couldn't sort out one shape from another, but eventually, Rodrigo thought that he was able to start making out the different images. Licking his lips, Rod spoke quietly, "I see waves," he started, his brow furrowing a little. "And a book of some kind?" Rod said with a little uncertainty. "Oh! And there's something like..." He paused, "A fire, but only a small one, and it's controlled, like in a fireplace," Rodrigo started to feel a little dizzy. "Um. There's a bright light, but I can't..." He blinked furiously a few times, before setting the crystal ball down on the treestump again. He needed a few minutes to gather his thoughts before he could start to decipher what it all meant... or at least try to. |

June groaned, taking out her book and flipping wildly throughout the pages, "Yellow mean... Oh here!" June pointed her finger towards the word, grinning. But once her eyes flickered down again, she realized her mistake, "Sorry, it said Mellow..." Her glee turned into disapointment, and June simply closed the book. Looking over at her notes, June exclaimed, "I think you're supposed to your the meaning you connect yellow to, wasn't that what he said? Yellow. Like... Honey! Perhaps something sweet is going to happen?" Edited by June Brooks, Oct 11 2009, 04:41:48 PM.

"Phew," Dave whispered as Professor Bannishtar continued on with his lesson without incident, signifying that Dave was off the hook. Dave had always been decently knowledgeable when it came to school, but he hardly ever spoke up in order to give the other less talented individuals a chance to learn. That, and he usually liked to keep to himself anyway. "Mmm," Dave responded to Ariana, smiling. "Not like I could say no to a pretty face like that," he said, giving the girl another look up and down. "I'm not even sure if Precious is going to give you a chance to explain yourself; she usually likes to come to her own conclusions. You'll probably want to have a talk with her after this, because she's going to assume something is going on if she even sees me looking at you." |

(Actually, you posted three times...*coughs*) Horacio stood from his seat, picking up one of the last remaining crystal balls from the box, regarding it with rather extreme boredom, before returning to his seat. He knew he was also supposed to find a partner but, well...seemed everybody was already teaming up and to be honest, he just wasn't all that fussed. Flipping through the assigned Divination textbook, he browsed through the numerous 'omens' and 'signs'. Hm....maybe I'll just write some random crap down, make it sound ominous and call it a frigging day...what a useless waste of time....' Edited by Horacio DuMaine, Oct 12 2009, 06:31:13 AM.

"So we have to work on our acting skills, and that means we have to pretend that whatever we see means something, right?" "I think so," Beth shrugged. This was how she understood the task too. Following Rodrigo's example, Beth peered into the textbook as well, trying to understand how to proceed further. Beth grinned as Rodrigo tried to explain the task, "you are a natural seer Rod!" She observed Rodrigo intently as he began the task. It didn't look that difficult but she was almost sure she would be lousy when she tries. She didn't even see any change in the crystal ball but it seemed Rodrigo did. "Waves, a book and a fireplace," Beth pondered aloud. "Maybe it means you should take a shower and read your favorite book near the fireplace in our Common room for the rest of the day," joked Beth. She found it hard to be serious about this lesson, actually about most things, "at least you wouldn't have to attend the rest of our entertaining classes today." Beth sighed, it didn't look so easy anymore, and Rodrigo seemed a little tired. "How was it? Was it difficult?" Beth's curiosity took the better her, "and how do we know whose 'future' was it?" |

Edward turned as she spoke to him. "Un, sure," he said casually despite his surprise. Edward got up and went to get one of the crystal balls and put it down between himself and Flavia. "Why aren't you with your date?" asked Edward, looking down at the simply looking magical object, "do you think the girl Nikolai hit on in concepts will show up?" "Alright, you know how much I love Divination, do you want to start?" Funny, how every time he'd said the L-word in his life, he was being sarcastic. Not that he would say it to anybody. |

Aria sighed as she realised that Dave was right. She would definitly have to talk to Precious, unless she wanted to lose her status as an upper-class Slytherin. That would be one conversation that she could do with missing. Aria groaned a little, but if she ended up with Dave.....it would all be worth it. "Yeah you're right. I'll talk to herafter class. Do you want to go near the Lake at Lunch to talk? Precious never hangs out there?" Aria smiled as Dave complimented her, briefly laying her hand on his. "Between you and me, the feelings very mutual." She flashed him her prize-winning smile then turned to look at the Crystal ball. |

Rodrigo slowly shook his head, "It's not hard as such, just a little weird," he scrunched up his nose in distate for this crystallomancy. "And how people could do this every day as their job..." Rodrigo sighed, raising his eyebrows. He wouldn't be rushing to do it again anytime soon, because it wasn't fun and to try and figure out what all of the symbols and pictures meant seemed beyond him. "Eh.." Rod grinned. "Yeah, I should totally go do that..." He joked along with Beth. "But somehow, I don't think that's quite what it means..." Rod chewed the corner of his lip, before picking up the ball and holding it out to Beth. "C'mon, your turn!" he smiled, and looked at his friend expectantly. "And somehow I think we're meant to interpret it as our future, in this case? That's what the person in the book did, right? Or maybe it doesn't matter whose future it is meant to represent... as long as we get the meaning?" he questioned. Rod though about what his reading could mean. He lifted some parchment out of his bag, and scribbled down the things he had seen, with a few notes by the side. |

"Absolutely," Dave answered as Ariana asked if he'd want to go down to the lake during lunch. "We should drop by the dungeons to get something warm to wear out though, and I want to swing by the great hall for a few sandwiches or something; all this drama has made me hungry," he joked, turning his hand over as she laid her own on it, gripping it gently and rubbing her fingers with his thumb. |

Aria smiled and laced her fingers around Dave's. He really was a sweet guy. "Yeah, that sounds...nice." For once Aria felt that she didn't have to act like a total bitch to get Dave's respect, but that she could be.....well, herself around him. This lunchtime meeting didn't sound like a big deal to any students rude enough to be eavesdropping, but to Aria it was a real chance, to keep her position in the Slytherin power play, but no longer needing to act spiteful, because she would have an equally popular.....boyfriend? Or was she just thinking too far ahead. Aria tried to clear her thoughts as she squeezed Dave's hand. |

Beth uncertainly reached out and took the crystal ball from Rodrigo's hands, examining it for a while. "I suppose you're right," sighed Beth and gave Rod a shy smile as she closed her eyes. She decided to proceed as she did , or at least tried to, in some of her other classes. Imagination and concentration. She pictured the ball in her mind thoroughly to get rid of all the other thoughts. She gasped as the ball started to tingle in her hands and opened her eyes quickly only to see it sitting still in her grasp. Beth fastened her eyes onto the object, expecting it to do something. 'So what do you have to show me?' she asked inwardly and as if hearing her, the inside of the ball started to twirl slowly. At first she didn't know what was it showing but it soon focused the picture. "An owl?" she wondered aloud as she recognized the shape, but as soon as it appeared, it vanished again. This time showing, "a present?" and just after it, there was some person but sooner than she could decipher who it was, the ball turned into its original color. "Wow," uttered Beth, she was surprised it even worked. She had to blink a few times before re-adjusting back to the world around her and looking at Rodrigo. "That was really… weird," she said, "first, there was an owl, then a wrapped present and I didn't see the last picture properly, it looked as some man." Her brows furrowed, it didn't make any sense to her. "Do you know what could it mean?" |
