Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Sister Evelyn Saint-Claire made her way down the path to a nice clearing on the Hogwart's grounds. Quickly she transfigured the large rock nearby into a professional looking black board. Humming, she flipped through the Standard Book of Spells, Ed. 5. Sister Evelyn was quickly overwhelmed with how much there was to cover in such a short time. Finding the proper page, she drew a quick diagram of the wand movement and the phonetic pronunciation of the incantation.

Beth dashed into the clearing to find it almost empty, she thought she would be late but the only person there was Sister Evelyn Saint-Claire.

"Good morning Sister Saint-Claire," said Beth with a bright smile and sat on the ground just a few meters from her professor and the blackboard. That was when she saw the writing on the blackboard. "Aguamenti!" whispered Beth excitedly and her smile grew even brighter, "cool!"
Fortunately, the only person who could hear her was Sister Saint-Claire but Beth doubted she had and she probably wouldn't mind either. Besides, Beth really liked this teacher, she'd always seem very kind. Charms was definitely one of het top five subjects too, not as much as Potions, DADA or Transfiguration but she liked the class a lot.

Beth set aside her books, careful to hide her Transfiguration textbook beneath the one of Charms, she didn't want the professor to think she did not like Charms and brought other books to pass the time. Finally, Beth checked her watch, wondering why weren't other students there. 'So I am early after all!' she thought and took her decent-looking Standard Book of Spells to read more about the Aguamenti Charm. There was not much else to do anyway.

Colette ran into the clearing and greeted Sister Saint-Claire with a smile. "Good morning!"

She looked at the spell on the board. "Aguamenti.....that sounds alright."

Charms was not her strong subject, but she was going to at least try. "Hey!"

She gave Beth a wave, before sitting down and flipping to a page to understand more about Aguamenti.

"Good morning" Bex said cheerily with a smile as she wandered into the clearing. She focused on the blackboard before her. She brought out her Standard Book Of Spells and turned the pages until she found the charm, reading more about Aguamenti.

Isaac followed the crowd into the grounds where the teacher and a few other students were waiting. "Hey," He greeted cheerfully. After which he pulled his timetable, and groaned inwardly. Divination then History of Magic. Both of which weren't his strongest subjects.

He sat down a few feet behind Beth with his legs crossed casually, taking a look inside his bag. He carefully extracted The Standard Book of Spells and set it down in front of him. Still wet from breakfast and knowing a lost cause when he saw one, Isaac took out his ash wand and started polishing it on his robes. Since Sister St. Claire mentioned it was going to be a practical lesson in her message.

Jade strolled into the clearing, absent-mindedly. "Morning, Sister Saint-Clare," she uttered in a yawn. The Standard Book of Spells laying heavily in her arms. Jade's wand was in her mouth, held firmly between her teeth. It was the obstacle that kept her from speaking correctly.

"Beautiful day out." The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. Everything was perfect, except her exhaustion. Insomnia had hit her, hard. She had been up all night, causing her to feel drained.

Avery had woken up late and missed breakfast. This was not entirely unusual, as Avery was a heavy sleeper and tended to slumber on through anything, but she thought of herself as an early riser. She liked to be out and about before anyone else so she wouldn't miss anything.

She threw on her robes and checked her schedule. Charms with the Hufflepuffs. Avery grabbed her materials for charms class and headed towards class. She took just about the longest way there, but finally stepped onto the clearing and joined her peers. She cursed her sense of direction before digging through the pockets of her robes for something to much on. She found a rather questionable Licorice Snap in the bottom of her left pocket, but she was hungry enough that it didn't matter too much.

She slithered up to the near front and grinned a greeting to Sister Saint-Claire studying the diagram that resembled a muggle flask as she waited for anyone she knew to arrive.

Misty walked down to where the rest of her peers were and look at the chalkboard. {Hmm, playing with water. Cool.} She sat down and looked around to see what everyone else was doing. She noticed other people had their books out already and reading up on the subject. Misty just sat there and waited for class to officially begin. {Wonder how far Rod it behind me...}

Harold made his way into a clearing, where Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws started to assemble for their Charms class. He greeted Sister Saint-Claire and decided to sit between Bex and Avery from his house. "Mornin' girls," he addressed them before taking his schoolbag off his shoulder and taking out his Charms textbook, "slept well?"

Jay hurried onto the Grounds, joining the students already gathered around Sister Saint-Claire, the Charms teacher.
He looked around for somebody he knew and suddenly caught sight of the girl he'd seen at breakfast. Well, I suppose that's not so surprising, I mean, she is in Ravenclaw...
He edged closer to her, not entirely sure why he was doing it, but knowing that he wanted to talk to her.
"Um... hey..." he murmured quietly.

"Gather around students! We have a lot to cover today." She said and pulled out her wand.

"Now, as you can see, we will be covering the Aguamenti Charm from pages 114-119 in your textbook. I have faith that you all know how to read, so I won't go too much into the developmental history. The Latin jargon, I find at least, is a bit complicated so I will help to clarify. The Latin word aqua for water is combined Indo-European for argument, creates augmentum, roughly translated to ‘increasing the water (flow)'."

She cleared her throat and continued,

"Enough of that, Let's practsie! Now. Repeate after me, ‘Aguamenti'."

Rodrigo happily walked across the grounds until he reached where charms class was being held. He stood next to Misty, listening to Sister Saint-Claire with a definite interest evident on his face. Rodrigo loved charms, perhaps a little more so to all his other classes. "Hey!" Rodrigo greeted his peers with a bubbly tone to his voice.

He dug around in his bag for his text-book and quickly flipped to the correct page. Rod skimmed over the writing quickly, whilst listening to the professor speaking. Once Rodrigo was satisfied that he'd read enough of the text, he slotted his book back into his bag, and gently put the satchel on the floor.

Seeing as they were going to be playing with water, Rodrigo figured it would be better not to keep his bag on him and let all the contents get soaked and ruined. He said the spell over a few times to get a feel of the word on his tongue, and eagerly pulled out his wand from its holster when the Sister so readily expected them to begin practicing.

Beth happily greeted everyone who came to the clearing, friends or not. After reading about Aguamenti in her textbook, she began practicing her articulation of the incantation. She repeated it a few times in her mind and then aloud. Thinking she would get it right now, she took out her wand, slightly angling the tip towards the ground. Beth cleared her throat and pronounced, as cleary she could, "Aguamenti!"
Perhaps, she was a bit louder than she intended because her wand suddenly bolted up and a strong shower of water came out of it, right into Rodrigo's back. Beth gasped as she lowered her wand and clasped her other hand to her mouth. "Oh, Rod! I'm sooo sorry!" began Beth worriedly, "are you okay?"

Colette stood up after thoroughly reading through her textbook. She gave a small greeting to everyone who walked in, though she knew very few of the Ravenclaws.

She noticed that Beth had said the charm a tad loudly, and it had resulted in a burst of water. She sighed, running her hands through her hair, before getting her wand out.

She decided to say it as if she were talking to a friend, so she came out with a clear, "Aguamenti!" However, she only came out with a small trickle of water. She shook her head, before trying again, "Aguamenti!"

This time she came out with a small stream! "Why can't I get this?!"

Sighing, she tried again. "Aguamenti."

Now, a small flow, not like a stream or trickle, but a consistent flow came out. "Yes!"

Rodrigo jumped as he felt a cold burst of water hit him square on the back. It took him a moment to regain himself and realise what had happened. Blinking a couple of times, Rodrigo turned around to look at Beth. His face seemed blank, with perhaps a small trace of anger present on his features. To a person who did not know Rodrigo, they may have expected him to start shouting and Beth, perhaps intentionally try the spell at her.

He burst out laughing, and waved a hand at his friend. "No... it's fine" he said. Rod shivered a little as a small drop of water ran down his back. So perhaps he was a little peeved at getting wet so early on into the lesson. But at least it gave him time to dry off...

Turning back to the front, Rodrigo licked his lips and raised his wand. "Aguamenti?" he said quietly, with a jerky wave of the wand. When nothing came from his wand, well it didn't surprise him. Rodrigo raised his eyebrows, and decided that perhaps he should concentrate more on achieving the spell and not the water running down his back.

"Aguamenti!" Rodrigo said clearly, with a smooth wand movement. A sizeaball jet of water shot from his wand and up into the air, only to rain back down on a few of the students to his far right. He shot an apologetic "Sorry," their way, desperately trying to hide a smile.

Well, at least he wasn't the only wet one.

"Aguamenti." Nothing happened. Slightly miffed, Bex tried again but she could hardly make any form of flow in the water. Sighing, she looked over at how Harold was doing, searching for help. Blankly, she looked back at her Standard Book Of Spells and re-read the page on Aguamenti. Bex cleared her throat, and tried again, louder this time, and sure enough, the flow of water increased. Bex looked at Jay, blushed and then turned back to face her work.

Avery grinned brightly a hello to her Housemates. She couldn't remember the girl's name, although she thought it started with a 'B'. The boy's name was Hank, she remembered. Or at least thought she remembered. "Oh, I'm well rested enough, Hank," she said, absently rummaging through her bag for her charms book. "I just wish I would have gotten up earlier," she muttered. She shook her head, never one to dwell on bad situations. She grinned again, setting her charms book on the ground and pulling out her ten inch, willow wand with finesse.

She concentrated, drew a small flask shape as indicated, and dropped her wand to her side to begin again. She held her wand in front of her and said clearly, "Aguamenti!" A lone tear of water dripped from the end of her wand.

Clearing her throat, she tried again. "Aguamenti!" She'd pronounced it 'ah-GWA-MEN-ti' and the result was a flood of water bubbling out from her wand in spurts as if from a partly clogged hose. It spattered the front of her robes and drenched the ground around her. Sighing, she hoisted up the front of her robes and moved to a drier spot, ignoring the loud sucking sound her shoes made in the mud.

Brows knitted together in utter concentration, she attempted one last time "Aguamenti!" This time a steady waterfall poured from her wand. Elated, she waved her wand around, sloshing her surroundings and splashing up mud onto her ankles. She felt a few sprinkles of water drip onto her shoulders, although she wasn't quite sure that they had come from her wand or from someone else's.

"Aguamenti!" Jay said, loudly, pointing his wand in no particular direction, slightly upwards. He grinned as water poured out of the end of his wand, then felt his smile slide off his face as he watched the water arc over a few people and hit Pineapple-girl on the head. Oh dear. He quickly pointed his wand down into the ground, soaking a couple of people in the close vicinity, and rushed over to her, apologising, "I am so, so sorry! I didn't see where it was going, are you alright? Oh, God, I'm sorry..." while he was talking he was drying her hair off quickly, hoping that it wouldn't competely ruin her hair, and that she wouldn't completely hate him for soaking her.

Turning around, Bex faced Jay as water dripped down her face. "It's ok, I suppose these things happen." Bex replied with a smile as she undid her plaited hair. He was still there, and she just stood opposite him, looking back at the fool who just soaked her. "I just realised... I've never really introduced myself, I'm Bex by the way," She said, grinning as she twirled her loose locks through her fingers. "You're Jay, right?"

"You're Jay, right?" Jay stared at Pineapple-girl (or Bex, as she insisted she was called) confusedly. How does she know my name?
"Ummm... How do you know my name...?" he asked tentatively.
"And I really am sorry about your hair," he said, looking at her slightly bedraggled-looking hair which was now loosened and hanging down around her shoulders. It was fairly long. I suppose it has to be, for her to be able to plait it up and around her head like it was...
"So," he asked, trying to make conversation, "can you do the Agumenti charm? I think you can tell that I can..." he smiled apologetically.
"Oh, who are you going with to the Ball? I mean, if you want, you and your date could come with me and Harmony, a sorta double date, you know? That's be pretty cool right?'
