| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? "I think me and Jay are going to the Yule Ball together, aren't we?" Harmony said, looking at Jay. He looked overjoyed that she'd just 'asked' him to go to the Ball with him. "I have to say though, I'm not the world's best dancer..." she grinned. "You two are cute together." "Really?" Harmony blushed and Jay put his arms round her in a slightly lopsided hug. "So, are you two going out or...?" Harmony asked, leaving the question open, then added quickly, "You don't have to tell me, if you don't want to..." She didn't want to upset Daniela, it would be nice to have a few more friends. ((OOC: sorry for the lame, and lamely short post)) |

Edward couldn't miss Horacio's expression while talking about the Beauxbaton. However, he decided to let it slip, it wasn't his business to inquire on someone's romantic or whatever interests. Definitely not of people he barely knew. He was curious about this Mariane nonetheless; if she could attract a boy like Horacio then she probably wasn't just an ordinary pretty girl. Edward's had prejudices about all houses even before he entered Hogwarts. But not matter how much he'd tried to convince himself his father told him the truth, one person unintentionally managed to put doubts into his mind and opened his eyes. Not that he 'liked' any people from other houses, but he decided to let them be because: 1st he didn't feel the need to bully other students and 2nd, although he'd never admit that, he didn't want to lose Beth's friendship. But Horacio, as it seemed, had the same opinion as Edward's father. Edward had to try hard not to let his eyebrows raise suspiciously high or his lips turn into tiniest smirk. He thought he'd met a more patriotic Slytherin. But he had to admit one thing, the fighting Slytherins were clearly pathetic. Edward also didn't like to be asked if is he joking, but other than that, and different opinions on certain matter, he decided it wouldn't hurt to play along. "You can't correct other people's idiocy, can you? Even the Sorting Hat is far from perfect, it would be better if we could chose the house we want... I would probably burn the hat and quitted the school if it sent me to Gryffindor instead of Slytherin." |

Harmony looked over at Anya and Oscar, then back at Daniela. Lowering her voice and leaning towards Daniela, she said, "I think she'd be into any guy, so long as he was relatively good-looking... she's that type of girl, isn't she? Don't worry though. If he's got any sense at all then he'll realise what she is. And then he'll realise just how much he loves you, and what a nice person you arer compared to her. I'm sure it'll all work out, Daniela. Don't worry." Harmony smiled as she straightened up. "So, Jay, can you dance?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at his quickly reddening face. "Well, I... I... umm..." he stuttered. "I'll take that as a no shall I?" she asked, adding, "Well that makes two of us!" Turning back to Daniela she said, "Daniela, if me and Jay manage to break each other's necks at the Yule Ball, would you be so kind as to take us to the Hospital Wing? Or at least to pile us into some corner where we won't get in the way of anyone else." She grinned as she finished speaking, thinking of just how funny it would be to watch Daniela attempting to move the two of them out of the way of every other dancer in the Hall. I think I may have to practice a bit before the Yule Ball... |

Oscar was, to say the least, a little suprised when an unfamiliar girl sat a seat away from him, and enthusiastically introduced herself, apparently in response to his own introduction to the blond on his left. "My name's Harmony. Harmony DIbley. It's such a shame about Tristan not winning. I can't believe he was beaten by that blonde bimbo. I'm surprised she could bear to go near the Forest, considering how muddy she would get. I mean, she might even have broken a nail, and zat would never do!" Oscar smirked, he didn't have anything against the Beauxbatons Champion, but he found it humourous how people were so quick to defend the schools chosen Champion, even though he had hardly done the school proud. Oscar was about to reply to this girl, Harmony, when a boy put his arms on Harmony's shoulders, then sat down next to her. After taking his seat, the boy turned to him and extended a hand. "I am sorry for interrupting your conversation so rudely. My name is Jay, Jay Herzstärke. It is very nice to meet you both," Oscar shook his hand firmly, smiling to show that all was forgiven. "Name's Oscar Loughlin, nice to meet you too." Oscar was about to turn back to his previous conversation , forseeing that Jay and Harmony might want to have a conversation of their own, when he noticed Daniela entering the Great Hall. As his eyes found hers, she beamed at him and he couldn't help but smile back, loving the newfound chemistry between them. Daniela hurried over and sat down next to Harmony and himself. "Hey Harmony! Hey Oscar!" "Hey Daniela." Oscar smiled again at her, feeling slightly awkward. Should he ask where he stood with Daniela? They had kissed in the Common Room, and attended the First Task together, but were they an item? Deciding that now was perhaps not the best time to ask, Oscar turned back to the blond on his left , raising his eyebrows slightly to await her reply. OOC: Sorry for the length and layout! Took me a while to try and reply to each post

Kane entered the Great Hall, craning his neck to see if he could spot anybody familiar. He noticed Lucy Hughes, the girl he had met at the World Cup, sitting at the Gryffindor (?) table and made his way over to her. The First Task had certainly been exciting, and quite a bit went on there. Kane wholeheartedly believed that Tristan should have won, though the Durmstrang Headmaster gave him a score well below what he earned. Finally reaching Lucy, Kane smiled. "Hey there, Lucy. How are you this evening?" he asked, sitting down without invitation. "That First Task was quite the event, wasn't it?" OOC: Crap post. |

"Oh, hi Kane!" She turned toward the boy, who she had met at the World Cup in the summer, and who had taken a seat on the other side of her. "I'm well, and yourself?" Was Lucy's automatic reply to his first question. She was also quick to answer his second question. "I was just saying that. Those centaurs are really something, aren't they?" Lucy spoke with no hidden message in her voice, except maybe her marvelling over them. Realising Kane probably meant more to do with the actual people in the event she said, "For a part-veela, I would have though Beaubaxons would have been more worried about her hair in that forest." Lucy then blushed furiously, remembering !Xabbu was in perfect hearing distance and that his girlfriend was the twin of said Champion. "She was really great though. I mean, she was quick." Lucy attempted again to cover another blunder and hid her cheeks with her hands and made a face at Olive, showing her embarressment. Julian walked through the double doors and took a seat with the other Slytherin fifth years, helping himself to a piece of steak, examining the knife before cutting into it. He chewed the mouthful slowly, savoring the tender taste before acknowledging the pair, "I couldn't help but overhear as I sat down...were we talking about Mariane, the French Champion?" Julian was arrogant enough to include himself in the conversation he hadn't actually been a part of - it was just his way. He had spoken to and openly flirted with the French beauty the night previous, her attraction to him overtly apparent. He had never really liked Horacio and it seemed possible that he was interested in something that belonged to him. Slytherin or not, if that were the case he would be very sorry. His eyes flicked over to the doors to see if Tinsley had arrived, knowing she would take his side. Then again this was to do with him wanting another woman so perhaps not. |

Horacio had been about to answer Edward....when someone cut in from across the table. (Assuming, since both seats beside Horacio are taken.) Cooly, he moved his gaze from Edward, over to the owner of that arrogant tone. Julian. Now, Horacio had never had anything AGAINST Julian...persay....but he had never really gotten what the big deal over him was, either. Suffice to say, he really didn't care. 'She happened to be mentioned in passing, yes....I was saying simply that I left once I saw who first came out, and, obviously...seeing as how that WAS Mariane...yes, her name did come up. Oh, and also that anybody who can only see her as a porcelain doll are obviously blind, and beyond foolish. Why...is she of such interest to you, as well?' Horacio smirked ever so slightly as he regarded Julian. If the boy thought he was going to get in Horacio's way...he had another thing coming. Such animosity was not something he aired openly though....no, he just kept that small smirk pasted on his features, the kind that said 'I know something you don't'. |

Edward looked up at the Slyrherin sitting in front of them. 'Why, another insolent nosy boy', he thought as he squinted his eyes a little and supervised Julian from head to toe - or at least where he could see over the table. He looked pretty harmless but Edward knew it might be only a mask, besides, some of the rumors concerning Julian had reached his ears. It looked as if the two boys yearned for the same girl and he was wondering if Horacio's words about fighting Slytherins will, once again, become true. 'This might be interesting', Edward thought as he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back to watch the show. |

Looking away from Horacio, Flavia noticed a rather bored-looking Slytherin girl sitting a few seats away from her. Picking up her tiny clutch bag, Flavia walked over and went over to her, hoping not to look awkward or weird. Smiling at the girl, Flavia asked: "Lucy, mind if I sit here?", as she indicated a seat next to the girl. Waiting with the ever-present charming smile, Flavia glanced over at where she had been sitting. Gosh. Kahn, Fairfax and DuMaine. Nothing good could come out from that. |

The way in which Horacio spoke to him suggested the boy considered a Julian-in-training, which was ludicrous considering he was one of a kind. "Somewhat, yes. We spoke last night and she asked to meet up with me tonight." All this was said with the typical cockiness but he made a mental note to actually arrange the get together when next he saw her. It wouldn't do to be caught out in the lie and he was sure he could both get her to agree to it, and, secondly, find something worth talking about with her. Julian's smirk widened at the thought. One only had to hurl a jinx in any direction to find a girl Julian had either slept with or at least seduced at some point. The French Champion offered a new challenge. |

'Really now, is that so?' Horacio said, rather breezily at that. 'Well then....maybe you shouldn't sit quite so close to me...one look from her between the two of us and your chances might go crashing to the ground....afterall, for all the air of mystery you might try to put off, it's rather difficult to actually BE mysterious when you've played the exact same game with, oh I dunno....pretty much every single girl in the school now, isn't it?' Flashing Julian a sly wink...almost as though it was intended in jest...the key word being almost....he cut off a piece of steak which he too, placed upon his plate, and reaching up, held it up to his ferret. The little white fluffball sniffed at it once before quickly snatching it out of Horacio's hand. With a small grin, he petted it, before returning his attention back to Julian. 'And then, on the other hand of things, there's me....actually confident, and not falsely so...enough so that I don't feel the need to compensate by trying to snatch up pretty much every girl in school. But hey, don't worry Julian. We all cope somehow, right?' It was well possible that Horacio hadn't ever actually dared to speak to Julian in such a manner before. Obviously, he had a rep throughout Hogwarts. On the other hand, recently, Horacio was on a roll. His grand-dad was now officially in charge of the wizarding world, and his little conversation with Mariane earlier didn't hurt in the slightest either. Yea. Horacio was on top of the world. 'But, honestly Julian. The actual topic of our conversation was about Slytherins nowadays in general....you know, those Slytherins who actually try and pick fights with their own, even when there's....others about to do so with. You know, house pride and all that...' He accompanied that statement with a flick of his eyes towards the other house tables. He didn't feel the need to elaborate further on what he was talking about. And yes...that was most definitely a backhand snide remark about Julian butting into their conversation to challenge him. Amaya entered the great hall, her eyes slowly sweeping the room to select a seat. She spotted a Ravenclaw she recognised, and moved to sit at her house table, but the boy instead moved and sat down next to a girl on the Gryffindor table. Amaya briefly considered sitting alone at the Ravenclaw table, worried that she might be intruding. However, her desire to meet new people prevailed, and she found herself following the boy to the Gryffindor table. She stood over the empty seat next to him and cleared her throat."I'm Amaya, do you mind if I sit here? I don't really know anyone here." She stood politely, awaiting his reply. Flavia sat down, smirking as well. "Well, nothing much, if you ignore those stupid guys over there winking at each other over the Beauxbatons champion," she replied. "Did you watch the first task? It was kind of...boring." Flavia shifted around in her seat as she looked around. They would ever finish arguing over Mariane, would they? |

A smile appeared on her lips. "But I heard some drama went down between Cole, Tinsley, and Precious," Lucy chuckled before she added: "Girlllll, word spreaded fast!"

Julian's stomach flipped as he sensed the challenge, "Oh, I don't know. I'm sure there are some who deserve it. Surely you've noticed the odd Slytherin who doesn't deserve to be here. I know I have." This was not directed at Horacio, as it was obvious he was a Slytherin through and through, but that didn't mean he cared if he took it personally. He cut himself another mouthful of steak, chewing it thoroughly, making no effort to be quick before continuing, It's true, I've played my games with a number of girls in the school, but that hasn't stopped them from still wanting my attention. If anything it just makes me more appealing. But perhaps your right, some girls may have 'gotten' me, but fortunately Mariane isn't a Hogwarts girl. She doesn't know shit about me." He watched with veiled disgust as the Slytherin fed steak to his ferret who was nestled on his shoulder, "Do you really think someone of your lineage needs that," nodding at the creature, "It's something I'd expect of Nightshade or Resultran, not you." It made him look ridiculous! |

Flavia laughed. "I just went to see whether anyone got killed. Anyway, isn't drama always happening with them around? It's inevitable, if you know what I mean." Twirling a strand of wavy blonde hair, Flavia continued: "Wonder where they are? Still moping around and fighting? Whatever they're up to, I think we're much better off without them." Helping herself to some potatoes, she watched the entrance curiously for any sign of...trouble. |

"… ignore those stupid guys …winking … Beauxbatons champion." Edward wasn't a nosy boy but he couldn't help but overhear this from a few feet beside him. It made him smirk inwardly. 'If the silly girl doesn't shut her mouth or at least turn down her volume, she might get into trouble with these pompous guys,' he thought. He turned his had sideways to that girl with an expression which probably seemed threatening. In reality Edward was slightly amused. He liked to mess up with people now and then even if he didn't want to really harm them. Edward turned back to hear what Julian had to say and couldn't believe how anybody could be so full of himself. After the comment about the ferret, Edward just felt that Horacio won't be pleased by it at all. If it was aimed at Edward's pet he wouldn't be happy either and it seemed that this was Horacio's weak spot. Edward just shook his head, not really wanting to leave just yet when it started to get interesting. |
