| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. !Xabbu entered the Great Hall, which was decorated in much the same way as it had been the day the delegates from the rival schools had arrived. A colorful banner representing each house was hung over each house table, as was a brilliant gold Hogwarts banner over the staff table. Plushly cushioned seats replaced the usual benches at the tables themselves, in the two colors of each house (alternatively silver seat, green seat, silver seat, green seat and on and on for Slytherin; Red seat, gold seat, red seat, gold seat and on and on for Gryffindor, ect.). !Xabbu sat himself in a gold seat at the Gryffindor table, waiting for the others to arrive (students had begun filing in before he'd had the chance to sit down. He'd probably move when Kiki and Mari arrived, however. They'd probably want to sit at the yellow or black chairs at the Hufflepuff table. In any case, the food had yet to appear. He rarely got to the Great Hall before most, so he figured that he was simply early and that the food would appear shortly. |

Olivia entered the Great Hall with a forced nonchalant presence. She wasn't terribly convincing, however, as her porcelain face was obviously flushed and her breathing was heavy and ragged, a result from running. On top of that, she now clutched a noticeable bulge within her jacket as she swiftly paced across the hall to the Gryffindor table. Olivia hardly registered the change in decor, her mind otherwise absorbed. She took a seat at the Gryffindor table, a mischievous glint in her eyes. Careful not to be seen, Olivia transferred the object in her jacket to the floor under the table, where it was concealed by the long, lavish table cloth. If one were to peer beneath the table, they would find a glass jar containing two large, black forest beetles. She grinned privately to herself, looking to the doorway and awaiting Lucy's arrival. Olive was much earlier to dinner than usual. In fact, she was the only other occupant of the table, save for one boy she recognized. She smiled at him. "Hey," Olive paused, never quite able to remember his name, "...you! What did you think of the first task?" she asked, making conversation. Her energy level was even higher than usual, fueled by secrecy and anticipation. |

Horacio entered the dining hall, accompanied still by his ferret, who was at this point, clinging to his shoulder. After leaving the task, he'd spent a bit of time in the courtyard, allowing the little creature some free time to run about without fear of being stomped on, or the need to have to look over his shoulder constantly like he usually had to when he took his pet out at night. Since the majority of the school....if not all of it...had attended the first task, the ferret had been able to scamper about freely, so was seemingly in fairly good spirits. Which, in it's own right, made Horacio less irritable as well. After leaving the courtyard, he had made his way down into the Slytherin common room, only to get changed into black silk dress robes, with green hems, to attend the feast. No doubt, he would be one of the only ones to be dressing up....but he abhored muggle clothing, and didn't wear it unless he absolutely had to. Not to mention the robes he'd been wearing had ripped. Besides, there was never an excuse to not look his best. Especially since his best was considerable. He made his way over to the Slytherin table, not even deigning to send a glance over to any of the students who had already filed in....not that there were many anyway. He took a seat in one of the silver chairs....more fitting to embellish his black robes, and simply waited now. Even in the courtyard, he'd been able to hear the sound of the scores being announced, and hadn't been able to suppress another smirk as Mariane was announced the forerunner. She should be coming in soon as well, after cleaning up, shouldn't she? Nonchalantly, he sent his gaze towards the entrance, maintaining it there, though careful to keep a perfectly bland, even bored, expression. He wouldn't want to seem too eager, afterall. He had no doubt he would stand out amongst the other.....little people. He was so much better than them, afterall. No, she would definitely notice him. Lucy strolled into the Great Hall, a small smile on her face an a spring in her step. Almost immediatly spotting Olivia out of the few students who had arrived already from the Task, Lucy made a beeline towards her friend, after stopping for a moment to take in the beautiful decor of the Hall. Those house-elves really put their backs into it, Lucy marveled. She plumped herself on a golden seat across from Olive, her smile broader now. "Heeey!" Lucy said in greeting to Olivia. Realising she was having a conversation of her own, Lucy turned to the boy. "Oh, hey, X-ah-boo, right?" Lucy cringed as she said it, hoping he wouldn't mind her stumbling over his name. Quick to move over her blunder, Lucy spoke again. "What did you think of the Task then? Nightshade going back to save Durmstrang? That was noble of him, and whatever." Lucy pulled a face and put quote marks in the air with her fingers as she said the word 'noble'. Part of her had hoped he'd run on anyway, but she was proud of him all the same. And it got him more points, which was really counted. |

Oscar entered the Great Hall. Still slightly in awe from the spectacle of the First Task, he took longer than usual to spy out a suitable place at the Gryffindor Table. To make up for his earlier hesitation, he quickly strode over to the seat he had chosen and sat down. As he glanced at the other Gryffindors already at the table, two girls and a boy he didn't recognise, he couldn't help thinking of Daniela. They had only really met today, and he was already finding it difficult to get her out of his head. He shook himself from his daydreams, interrupted by the conversation occuring further down the table. He would be seeing Daniela soon enough no doubt, they had only seperated after the First Task to get ready for Dinner. If Daniela felt the same as himself, then she would be pining for his company by now. "That girl's quite something." he said to no-one in particular.

Anya strutted into the Great Hall, boredom painting both her attitude and her appearance. The First Task had been nothing great… in fact, now that Anya had come to think of it, it had been almost embarrassing to watch Tristan, who was supposedly the representative for Hogwarts, lose to someone as pathetic as that Beaxbatons princess. Surely the goblet could have picked a more worthy candidate than Nightshade, could it not? She sighed. There were not many students there yet… most of them had gone off to congratulate the champions for making it out alive. And it's a pity they all did, too. The Great Hall was populated generally with Gryffindors, although there were a few from the other houses as well. As a slight grin began to conquers her lips, she flounced over to a dark-haired boy from her own table and sat next to him, noticing that he'd mentioned something about another girl. Was he talking to himself? Oh, that wouldn't do. She smiled deviously and inviting herself into his conversation, "What girl?" she said with an innocent flair. "Oh, the Beauxbatons tramp?" she asked, assuming it was she whom he was speaking of. "Well she certainly made a fool of Nightshade, didn't she?" She smirked. "But we mustn't frame Quicompoix for accenting Tristan's faults. He does most of that on his own…" |

Oscar turned in suprise as a familiar female Gryffindor took the seat next to him. Before he could even open his mouth to react to this newcomer, she launched into a conversation. "What girl?" Oscar assumed that she had heard him thinking outloud about Daniela, and was about to explain, but the girl immediately spoke again. Clearly, this girl was used to getting her own way. "Oh, the Beauxbatons tramp?" she asked "Well she certainly made a fool of Nightshade, didn't she?" She smirked. "But we mustn't frame Quicompoix for accenting Tristan's faults. He does most of that on his own…" Oscar smiled at her comment. He wasn't a particular patriot of the school, he didn't particularly have any prejudices over who should win the Tournament, after all, it wasn't exactly an event he was used to. And in fairness, Tristan Nightshade had been royally thrashed by the Beauxbatons Champion, something his enemies would no doubt be gloating about, school representative or not. "It wasn't exactly a good start for Hogwarts was it? I mean, we are the hosts of the Tournament, you might think Quicompoix would have gone easy on the poor lad." Oscar smiled roguishly, "If he does this badly in the next Task, I might start betting against the home team." He nodded his head slightly, realising that he still hadn't introduced himself. "I'm Oscar, by the way, Oscar Loughlin." Edited by Oscar Loughlin, Sep 4 2009, 06:06:00 PM.

Flavia entered the Great Hall, wearing a smirk on her face. She slipped into a chair at the Slytherin table next to Horacio, who had a ferret perched precariously on his shoulder. How cute, Flavia thought. Looking around, the Great Hall was still very empty. Horacio was looking around hopefully, no doubt for any sign of the Beauxbatons champion. She laughed at his hopeless hopefullness. "I wouldn't try that if I were you," she remarked. "I was under the impression that Julian Kahn likes her, and she likes him, too. Maybe it would be more hopeful if you got your ferret to bite Kahn head off, first." Flavia returned her gaze to the absolute cuteness of the ferret as more people filed in. OOC: LOL!!!! FERRET!!!! |

Horacio turned his, still carefully bored expression, towards the girl who had decided to sit beside him. 'I'm sorry.....who is this 'she' you're talking about, and what's it got to do with Julian? For the record though....any female that I might set my sights on, priveleged that they would be that I even had, they would certainly not even be remotely interested in Julian once I had my say. That, is a fact. Just because I'm not interested in 'playing the field', hardly means a thing.' With that, he returned his gaze to the entrance, stroking the ferret absently as he feigned complete nonchalance once more. Edited by Horacio DuMaine, Sep 5 2009, 12:59:23 AM.

OOC: R.O.F.L. Flavia laughed again. So he was going to pretend he didn't know. How amusing. "Good luck with Mariane," she replied, still laughing hysterically inside over his extremely unnecessary formal language. Grinning, she looked around. Yes, the Great Hall was considerably fuller. Nothing like more people to lighten the mood. Damn, where was that hot Durmstrang champion? Injuries made him look so much better. Flavia pulled out her mirror and checked her lipstick again, adding a few dabs of eyeshadow. Wherever he was, she was about to look good when he came. |

Lucy entered the Great Hall, a smile on her pink lips as she made her way to the Slytherin table. She had not gone to the First Task. Instead, she spent the day inside, sipping hot chocolate and taking bubble baths. It was relaxing since not that many people where around, so no one could bother. But then again, who would bother her? The only reason she was kind of popular was because her last name was 'Hindert'. She hated being a Hindert. Lucy sighed as she sat-only a couple of seats away from Flavia Petrovska and Horacio DuMaine. She didn't exactly feel like socializing, but if they wanted to, hell she wouldn't care. The Slytherin had been M.I.A for a while, only going to classes and to eat. She wouldn't be surprised if Flavia and Horacio didn't know her. |

Edward entered the Great Hall with the almost ever present strict expression on his face. He hadn't want to participate in a foolish activities, such was the championship and had decided to stay in his dorm, reading. He'd found himself listening to Moody's commentary anyway and had to admit the First Task hadn't seemed as dull as he assumed. Perhaps he could go to see the Second Task later. He looked around the large hall. There weren't many people, most were probably still near the forest. Edward automatically turned to walk towards the Slytherin table, seeing only three people there. Two girls he knew but had never talked to them - not that Edward was any talkative person - and Horacio. 'Good, at least someone I can talk to at reasonable level,' thought Edward. He sat on the other seat next to Horacio and overlooking his bored expression he nodded his greeting and said, it seemed to no one particularly but was meant for Horacio, "How was the task?" without much interest, mainly trying to start a conversation. Edward wasn't a people-person but he needed to speak from time to time too. He would look silly if someone saw him talking to his lizard and the lack if its response wasn't always satisfying either. |

Harmony stepped into the Great Hall, smiling broadly. The First Task had been interesting, but if she was honest she had been too busy talking to Jay to notice what had really happened until the Beauxbatons girl had run out of the Forest. She was slightly disappointed that Tristan hadn't managed it, but she assumed that the girl had just been quicker. She floated over to the Gryffindor table, still in a daydream, and sat down beside a boy and girl who were talking quietly. "I'm Oscar, by the way, Oscar Loughlin," the boy said, smiling. "Hi!" Harmony said, grinning idiotically, and not caring in the slightest just how weird they thought she was, she was far too happy for that. "My name's Harmony. Harmony DIbley. It's such a shame about Tristan not winning. I can't believe he was beaten by that blonde bimbo. I'm surprised she could bear to go near the Forest, considering how muddy she would get. I mean, she might even have broken a nail, and zat would never do!" she said in an awful French accent, grinning from ear to ear. "Harmony," said a voice behind her, and she smiled as he placed a hand on each shoulder, "you should not be so rude about people. It is not her fault she is a - how do you English call it? - victim of fashion." She looked up into Jay's smiling face and patted the bench beside her. He sat down, releasing his grip on her shoulders and looked over towards the other two. "I am sorry for interrupting your conversation so rudely. My name is Jay, Jay Herzstärke. It is very nice to meet you both," he said, extending his hand towards Oscar. |

Horacio rolled his eyes at the overly presumptious female. What was she anyway, some kind of mind reader? Not as if he had ever spoken to her about Mariane. Assuming....makes an ass out of her, not me... Or such he would twist the ever popular saying. He noted yet another blonde sit, not too far away from him but, given that she gave no indication of interest in any form of interaction, he didn't bother either. Completely indifferent, absolutely aloof. Such was Horacio. When a male voice made itself heard, from the side opposite of that which he was looking, he slowly turned his gaze over to the source of it, and noted a male that had seated himself beside him. He was pretty sure he'd seen the guy around somewhere often enough, in classes or whatnot. Edward something or the other. 'It was alright. I only stuck around long enough to see who would come out first. Turned out to be the girl everyone seems insistent on believing is some kind of porcelain doll. Laughable, really, considering she was chosen as a champion and they weren't. Some people just can't ever get over their jealousy...' He smirked. Anybody who believed they were smarter than the Goblet were idiots. On the other hand... 'Of course, Tristan was chosen as Hogwarts champion, so the cups obviously been confunded somehow....but that doesn't change the fact that anyone who thinks the Beauxbaton's chick is some kind of delicate flower, is downright stupid. Then again, I think things have a way of getting confunded in Hogwarts......I swear the Sorting Hat has been hoodwinked more than once when I see how certain people got into Slytherin...' He didn't elaborate on the statement further, merely letting it...trail off, no doubt leaving somewhat of an unpleasant taste in the air. |

Daniela entered the great hall, heading straight for the Gryffindor table. She grinned when she saw Harmony and Oscar. She couldn't help but flush as she got the familiar butterflies in her stomach as a result of seeing Oscar again. She was truly sorry she didn't have the opportunity to sit with him. "Hey Harmony! Hey Oscar!" She slid into the seat next to Oscar, before noticing he was deep in conversation with...Anya?! She raised her eyebrows. Were Anya and Oscar friends? "Anya." She said cooly, mentally gritting her teeth. Rolling her eyes, she leaned backwards to talk to Harmony. "Hey Harmony!" She smiled, before getting off the bench and kneeling next to Harmony talking in a hushed voice, "Did you hear anything they've been talking about? And," She grinned again, "I didn't know you had a boyfriend." |

"Hey Daniela!" Harmony said, smiling as Daniela appeared, noticing the slightly jealous look she gave Anya, the girl they'd met in the owlery. Harmony was discussing the Tournament with Jay when suddenly Daniela's voice asked, "Did you hear anything they've been talking about?" from somewhere beneath her elbow. "No, sorry, I only got here a little while ago, I haven't really heard anything that they've been talking about, sorry." She flushed as Daniela called Jay her boyfriend and opened her mouth to correct her when she realised that her and Jay were practically going out, so why not let her think what she wanted? She grinned at Daniela and replied, "I didn't know you had your sights set on someone," shooting a quick scouring look at Oscar. He wasn't bad looking... Best not to even go there, Harmony. Remeber the Owlery? Daniela voiced her opinions pretty loudly... Jay had been looking at Harmony questioningly, wondering if I'll let him go out with me? She smiled at him, and held his hand tight in hers. She turned back to Daniela. "So, did you enjoy the First Task?" |

Daniela frowned, "It's okay, I was just wondering. Oscar's my Yule Ball date, so..." She trailed off. Were they a couple? It was all so complicated. They had kissed. But where did that classify her? "The first task was fun! I can't believe Beauxbaton beat us! It just doesn't make sense! But did you see how beat up Durmstrang was?" She smiled a tad at Harmony when she noticed Harmony and Jay, was it?, hold hands. "You two are cute together." |

"Yes, I heard the commentary," answered Edward, "I've never seen the Beauxbaton's champion but underestimating a woman isn't a wise thing. She may look like an angel but easily stab you when you're not looking." He didn't have much experience with women but he had heard a few stories. "Does she look any good? Or is she just girly?" Edward grimaced, he didn't like 'girly' girls who whined over a broken nail, but he secretly respected girls who could match with men, especially given their physical advantage. "Well, Tristan might be smart, being a Ravenclaw, but he is inexperienced and younger than the other two Champions and I doubt they are stupid." He didn't understand why would people participate in this tournament anyway. Why were they so thirsty for fame? "I guess the tournament will become too hard for him eventually and he'll run home, crlying - if he's lucky enough to stay alive." He got bored of talking about the tournament and the champions and Horacio's last sentence caught Edward's attention. "Who do you have in mind?" asked Edward quietly. He didn't get to know many students at Hogwarts but he didn't trust the Sorting Hat's reasoning. After all, his first real friend was sorted to Hufflepuff and he'd never forgive the daft hat this decision. Edward wasn't fond of gossips but he wanted to know some more about this Slytherin. Horacio hadn't seemed dumb as most students here and Edward wanted to find out whether his intuition was correct. |

Horacio's smirk widened as Edward questioned him about Mariane. 'Does she look any good? Oh yes, I suppose you could say so...quite the bombshell, actually, and an air of confidence to match. She's about much a fairy princess as I am..' He echoed Mad-Eye Moody's sentiments from earlier. They were true, afterall, and even Horacio had a begrudging respect for the man. He waved a hand airily as the focus switched to Tristan though. He definitely couldn't say the same about the Ravenclaw. 'Just cos he's a Ravenclaw, doesn't mean anything. Besides, Slytherins are far superior in all of these supposed attributes each house is meant to possess. It's just disguised as 'cunning' by the hat...but we all know, that's just all that strength, intelligence and whatever else yack combined. Everyone's just too polite to say it outright.' Leaning back in his seat, her arched an eyebrow skeptically at Edward then as he placed his arms behind his head, rather boredly. 'You ARE joking right? A blind man could see who I'm talking about. All these Slytherins who go around getting along with...Gryffindors...Ravenclaws....even Hufflepuffs! It's demeaning, I tell you. Demeaning. And then, the Slytherins who then have nothing better to do than pick fights with their own, even while there are such Hufflepuffs or Gryffindors hanging around, aren't much better. I swear, house pride slipped into the drains a long time ago.' Not for Horacio though....oh no. Not for him. |
