Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? Beth strikes me as someone who's into sweet gestures and expect others to be just as thoughtful and giving. And while Holly B is as generous as they come, I feel as though those two would be a bit out of sync, and may actually take offense to each others idea of niceties. Holly says, "You've got chocolate pudding between your teeth." Could mean, "Gosh you're so disgusting, pig." to Beth's ears. Beth says "Oh, did you do something new with your skirt?" Holly hears, "Put that hemline back down, Sl*t." One time, Holly wrote a paper in support of a political topic Beth opposed. Holly told her she wasn't really interested in having a debate over the topic. Which Beth then accused her of being hostile and not willing to have a civilized conversation. (in the above scenario, the roles can be reversed if you'd prefer it that way.) Holly has been sour towards Beth ever since.

But actually, Beth isn't really the type for cat-fighting as most of the girls her age (not without a good reason, that is). She tries to see the best in people (as Holly does) and if someone offends her, she's more likely to leave than to argue with them further. She hates arguing and fighting with others and is very tolerant and mostly forgiving. BUT, if anyone was to hurt or offend her friends or people close to her, she would, no doubt, stand up for them and fight, even thought she doesn't like it and wouldn't do the same for herself. This is also what she holds grudges for and it is almost impossible to befriend her after that (depends on the damage done, too). So I don't think they would become fierce enemies (unless Holly hurts some of her friends) but there definitely could be dislike and tension between them. I'm thinking that either Beth would overhear Holly gossiping about her friends (and possible confront her then; she hates gossiping btw) or hear a lie that Holly did something bad to them. And the last idea, that comes to my mind is, that Beth would be feeling pretty stressed for some time (at least until next classes) and could overreact because of that (which can be combined with the previous options). From then on we could see how bad was the argument and decide what kind of animosity would be between them (and the examples you mentioned with them hearing more in each other's statements). What do you say?

Based on Holly and Beth's temperament, I'd say their bitterness towards each other wouldn't be anymore than uneasy glances and passive aggressive comments. But nothing near all-out-balls-out-kitty-cat-claws brawling, know what I mean? Beth's closest friends are June, and a Slytherin boy, right? Maybe Holly could make comment about them which rubs Beth off the wrong way? They have similar values and personalities, but like I said earlier, they aren't in harmony with each other. Which would lead to the constant misunderstandings. We can see how their future classes go together, and if Beth is as tolerant and forgiving as I believe she is, they may even go far enough to come back and be good friends. I look forward to it~~<3

Maybe she could first say something about June that would seem very mean to Beth and make her confront her (best if it wasn't true). Then, during the Second Task, I plan something a little dark-ish with Edward. Holly could see it and Beth would overhear her talking about it and think she's lying. That's definitely possible. I say lets make it flow naturally from then on, we can always decide new things later. Me too

I can imagine this rubbing Beth off the wrong way. And Holly is such a gossip, so I can imagine her spreading darkish-rumors about Beth/Edward around the House. Its okay to just roll along after this and see how it all turns out. I don't really want the ending to be set in stone yet. <3 Holly B. Abell and Beth Snape are now enemies.

But either this could work (maybe Holly will have some new ideas too) or, given that Beth and Holly will soon be enemies, maybe she could talk Noah into not talking to Beth (again, we'd have to ask her if she agrees). What do you think, any ideas?

(Because Juliet will have a little annoyance with Holly because of how Noah closes off to everyone but Juliet.) I don't know. I originally wanted it to take place in next generation with some other character, but I couldn't stop thinking about the possibilities, and thought what the heck, I'll have new ideas in the next gen. So, I want for Beth to lose sight in the first semester of 7th year (or at the end of 6th, I'm not sure how many battles/attack will there be). Perhaps during a major attack or a Squire incident. Either she'd get hit by one powerful(/reflected) spell sent out intentionally or just get in its way. Or she'd get hit by two, less powerful spells (two students), and one of those could be friendly-fire. At first, she'd be completely blind, but later on (in days/weeks) her sight would partially return, but she'd remain color-blind for unseen period of time. It would be either aftereffect of the powerful curse, or mysterious combination of the two. Personally, I'd rather go for the second scenario (especially the friendly-fire possibility, she wouldn't have to know who did it, until the person revealed it - if ever), but I'm open to all suggestions and opinions. Also, there's a free spot for someone who'd like to help her (to the Hospital Wing or out of more danger).
