| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Full name: Beth Snape Nickname(s): Nope, just Beth. But a very few people (best friends) call her Bee sometimes. Gender: Female Birthdate: 4th February, 1996 Age: 17 Year: Sixth Year. Blood: Half-blood Wand: 10 ¼ inches, Birch, Dragon Heartstring Preferred House: Hufflepuff Appearance: Height: 162 cm (5'4") Eyes: Light, electric blue shade. Hair: Red or dyed - currently blonde, as one of her friends forced her to try a new style. It's short but slowly growing back, yet to reach her shoulders. It might be slightly ruffled sometimes, since she refuses to spend hours before a mirror in the mornings. Physical Description: Her skin tone is quite light, almost pale. Although being physically active, playing Quidditch for her house, she spends most of her time in the castle which might be the cause of that. Her face is oval without any distinctive marks, except for her small, button-like nose. Beth is not one of the attractive girls at Hogwarts. She is what most people would call plain, but it really depends on individual taste. Although being little and having relatively small hands and feet, her body type is more on the sporty side. Her arms are lightly muscled and her legs quite strong. She actually hates her thighs and backside, thinking they are fat, but her low self-esteem is also a contributing factor in this. Beth doesn't have a reason to complain about her flat stomach, though, even if she were the complaining type. When not donning her Hufflepuff school uniform, Beth usually wears light colored shirts (blues and yellows are particularly her favorite) and baggy trousers or jeans. When it's cold, you might see her wearing an oversized jumper over her uniform, but never in classes. Despite being a girl, she doesn't wear make-up and never learned how to walk in heels. Beth only wears a dress or skirt on special occasions, like balls or celebrations, but isn't very fond of them. She much more prefers being comfortable and practical to attempting to reach a socially desired level of attractiveness. Most of all, she would feel like a fake had she tried to dramatically change her natural appearance. Personality: Despite being a very caring, helpful and selfless person, Beth doesn't have many close friends, mainly because of her inability to truly trust people and open up to them. However, she's a very good listener, and her endless loyalty and protectiveness of the people she cares about sometimes even get her in trouble. The fact that she puts the well-being of others before her own is also one of her greatest vices, as it's not too hard to exploit her hospitality. While believing such thing as 'evil' doesn't exist, she desperately tries, and mostly fails, to limit her naivety in other aspects. Although Beth attempts to build a wall around herself and rarely ever lets any scathing remarks from her enemies bring her down, she handles betrayal of her friends very poorly. Once you're behind her wall, it's not difficult at all to hurt her if you really mean it. Even though she is quite shy, insecure and doesn't like to start or contribute to fights, she would fight for those she cares about, rather than for her own beliefs. What she can't stand is injustice and wrongful accusations, these are one of the few sure ways to make her angry. Beth also shows great respect for authorities. You wouldn't find her doing anything improper during classes or speak insultingly about a teacher. She always tries her hardest to please those she respects. However, being a very inquisitive and curious girl, she sometimes speaks before contemplating her words. That doesn't mean she's dense. While not possessing the natural wit of some Ravenclaws, she's what one would call inventive, determined and extremely hard-working when she wants to be. She is often easily impressed, especially by someone's intellect or heroic deeds, and scorns arrogance and cruelty. When bored, Beth can often be restless, not being able to stay still for a longer periods of time without any occupation. Also, if you really manage to anger her, especially by hurting her friends or family, she usually holds grudges for a very long time. She has a great affection for flying and Quidditch, and her favorite subjects are DADA, Potions and Transfiguration. History: Beth never knew her mother. All she knows is the first name of a woman who left her at a gate of one English orphanage with nothing but a blanked and a crumbled letter when she was only a few months old. The letter conveyed the woman's remorse, her name, Beth's given name and a surname that was likely not even hers, along with her date of birth. That was all Beth knew of her origins during her early childhood. The days in the orphanage gave Beth some experience with Muggle lifestyle. In fact, she felt very lost when she was introduced and brought to Hogwarts for the first time. However, after being sorted to Hufflepuff (with some hesitation on the Sorting Hat's side due to her heritage), and making new friends there, she never looked forward to summer holidays when she had to return back to the orphanage. She didn't have many friends there, ever since she unknowingly sent a whole shelf of books falling one boy's head after he repeatedly pulled at her hair. Most of the children thought her weird after more similar incidents and only a few were brave enough to play with her. That was likely the reason she became somewhat of a loner in her later years. Once in her Third Year, however, her life turned upside down with the revelation of her existing family member. Beth had never given up searching for her family and found someone named Severus Snape in the Hogwarts library, deciding to investigate further. At the end of that year, she visited the former Hogwarts Potions Professor and after being turned down upon first meeting him, he contacted her later that summer and allowed Beth to move in to the attic of his house at Spinner's End. Family: father: Severus Snape grandmother: Eileen Prince [deceased] grandfather: Tobias Snape mother: Samantha [deceased?] Samantha's last name is not known to Beth and allegedly neither to Severus. Beth assumes her mother died, as she had mentioned some kind of sickness in the note she had left. Pet(s): A tree frog named Ricky Possessions: Comet 540 and a letter from her mother. ________________________________________ updates: October 11th, 2009 - big update, mainly on Beth's personality.
