| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Feeling sick way down in her stomach, it hurt to see Emma so close to Abe. She would give anything, well, almost anything, to be able to swap places. Sitting there, trying to force herself to look away, June hoped that it wouldn't get worse. What June Brooks forgot was: There is one thing that is absolutely ninety-nine point eight percent secure at Hogwarts. The second you don't think it can get worse, is the very second exactly worse happens. "Hello, sister," Chills went down her spine, and suddenly Emma no longer mattered. The colour drained from her cheeks as she looked up, terrified. Jenny Brooks. Now, all June wanted was to sink into the earth, and never, ever be seen again. Not by her sister, not by anyone. Wide-eyed, June looked for a way to get away, what had seemed to become something fun, had quickly been ruined. She wanted to blame someone, have someone to point her finger at, but the truth was that it was nobodies fault. Well, Jenny didn't have to come over, and June didn't think that she only was trying to be nice, that simply wasn't Jenny. She didn't stop Rodrigo from talking, she just hoped, with all her heart, that Rodrigo would not get hurt by Jenny's venomous words. Even though she did love her sister, Rodrigo was closer to her. He was, and would always be her best friend. That was a comfort. Still, June did not dare see Jenny in the eye, nor did she dare speak up. Of all the places to be, why did she have to be stuck inbetween her crush and his... girl? then Rodrigo, and after that her sister. It soothed her when another person joined, Wynn Demarco. June had never really talked to Wynn, but he had always seemed nice, if not a little of a know-better. Looking up for just a second, she saw him put his arm around Jenny, and June became a little jealous. Not because of Wynn Demarco, of course, June didn't have eyes for anyone but Abe Halifax, but more because her sister actually got all, except from Emma and Abe who were too busy chattering away, attention. "Hi," she squeaked, afraid that Jenny would get mad if she didn't answer. Once she thought over it though, June realised that Jenny might prefer if she did not speak to her (boy)friend. Or perhaps June was just wanting to make Jenny seem even more difficult than she really was, and Jenny wouldn't care. Yet, June didn't want a deathly stare from her sister, June preferred staying hid, in between. |

"One death is enough for today." He slipped down to sit beside her, draping his arm around her shoulders, "Why, who else is on your death list?" he said casually. It was definitely a good idea to sit so far away from the rest of the school, given their choice of conversation topics. Death lists weren't usually a topic of conversation among your typical students. Then again Tinsley and he weren't that typical. |

Beth spotted June and Rodrigo quite soon after she sat down, Abe sitting next to June. Beth smiled at that, knowing June really fancied him. June'd never told her, but Beth could read it from her actions, although she never understood what she saw in Abe. But maybe she was wrong and June only kept friendly feelings towards Abe, Beth thought June must have known that her and Abe don't belong tohether, at least that was what Beth thought. Suddenly she mused that Rodrigo would be much better for her than Abe. 'Nonsense!' Beth mentally scolded herself, they are best friends, that's all there is to that. All of sudden some Ravenclaw came marching towards the group and sat next to Abe, looking like a hungry cat to Beth's now scowling eyes. "What the..." she said silently but a student next to her heard her,and looking at her like she was something disgusting he left swiftly. But Beth didn't care, her eyes were glued to the girl in blue leaning onto Abe as if she would fall without him. June didn't look very happy, Beth was glad she had Rodrigo next to her which probably gave her at least a little comfort. Beth wanted to get up when another Hufflepuff joined the group, it was Jenny. Beth almost grinded her teeth. June definitely didn't have a lucky day. Beth never understood how can someone not like their siblings, she never had any and always felt sorry about that. But she respected that with June and tried not to talk about her sister. If June hadn't looked happy before, now she looked almost miserable, althought probably not everyone would notice that. That was the last straw for Beth, finally she got up deciding to walk to her two friends. She hasn't seen them in a long time so she looked forward to it ever since she left St. Mungo's. It seemed like a lot has changed since she spoke to June last time. Before Beth got to their row, another Hufflepuff joined them and sat next to Jenny taking the last free space in the row on that side. And Beth definitely didn't want to sit next to the Ravenclaw girl. Luckily, two Griffindors left the seats in the next row, just behind June and Rodrigo. Beth took the opportunity and sat behind June. "Hey guys!" she chirped merilly, hoping to cheer June up a little. "I'm Beth," she glanced over the whole group so she didn't seem rude and turned her gaze back to the two friends in front of her, "haven't seen the two of you for a long time." As a Hufflepuff boy came and sat down next to Jenny Brooks, Rodrigo smiled with relief. He vaguely recognized his fellow 'Puff as Wynn, but he had not really spoken to him much, aside from polite conversation, every now and again. So now Jenny had someone to occupy herself with, as did Abe and Emma. It was just June and him now, which, despite all the others surrounding them, made Rodrigo feel a little more than happy. He had found that there was no-one's company quite like June's. That was what best friends were for, he supposed. And then Rodrigo heard a familiar voice from the row behind him. He turned around, with a beam fixed on his lips. "Beth!" he exclaimed. True, he hadn't seen her for... god knows how long. Rodrigo thought she had been at St. Mungo's, or something like that. Well, it was nice to have her back, anyway. "How are you doing?" he asked. "Good to have you with us." Rod flashed her a smile, and turned to sit sideways, so he could see both June and Beth clearly. This of course, meant he could see the soppy going on's between Abe and Emma, but he did his best to ignore that. A plus, was the way he was sitting meant his back was to June's sister, meaning he didn't have to have any more conversation with her than what was necessary. It seemed so strange to Rodrigo, that moments ago, he had been wishing for one person to come along and interrupt the little gathering. And then, two arrived at once! Although, there was still no sign of the task starting, which aded to the increasing tension, and made Rod feel slightly frustrated at how long they had to wait. But he was a fairly patient person, so he didn't mind that much. They seemed to be running more than a little late though.. |

"Hey guys!" Not one more, thought June, trying to make herself even smaller. Who was it this time, who was acting to merrily. Probably some slytherin, or worse, a beuxbaton, ready to prove how she was so much better than June could ever be, without raising a finger. Pulling her legs up, so she could hide her face in them, June refused to look up. "I'm Beth," said the voice, and June suddenly popped up, tilting her head back to see who it was. Looking right up at Beth, a smile came on her face, and her eyes lit, "I've missed you so much!" The pain of her neck stretching didn't bother, nor did the ice cold air matter right now. Her mouth tightened, and her eyes turned to Jenny, and then to Abe and Emma. She wanted to jump up and hug her friend, but was afraid Jenny might tease her. You've already made a fool of yourself, whispered a voice encouragingly, and June decided to go through with the hug. Going off her seat, turning around, and sitting down on her knees, the little girl gave Beth a good welcome back hug, her icecold cheek meeting Beth's warm. |

Beth didn't quite know what to expect from her friends, after seeing so many changes around her she was rather skeptical. She was affraid they wouldn't want to speak to her. Her heart sank seeing the cold reaction from June, but she felth a huge relief flow through her body as Rodrigo smiled at her "How are you doing? Good to have you with us." Suddenly she didn't feel as bad as when she came here. "I'm great. They just released me from Mungo's, I only had a flu but they wanted to keep me there for a while. It's so good to be back," she replied honestly. She saw that Rodrigo turned sideways to her and was very pleased that she at last found someone to talk to. Beth looked back to June, bracing herself to see a scowl on her face but that wasn't what she found there. That was a completely different June from the one she saw before, this was the June she remembered from before. "I've missed you so much!" beamed June. Beth was so pleasantly surprised she could only beam back at her. But she got even more surprised when June turned around and threw her hands around Beth. She overcome her shock quickly and hugged her back enthusiastically. Beth realized how cold June was and got a little concerned. She let go of June and smiled warmly at Rodrigo but looked at her worriedly, "gee, you are so cold! For how long have you been there?" Beth then looked around to see if The Task seemed to be starting. Still nothing, even the people seemed to be chatting less than before, some of them clattering their teeth now. Beth wasn't cold, either because she had a thick ochre sweater over her Hufflepuff shirt or because she simply liked winter. True, the snowstorms weren't nice but she enjoyed the Winter Muggle activities. She didn't have a clue how could she catch a flu in Autumn but felt rather warm now. "Do you know when the First Taks starts? I thought I was late but it seems like you've been waiting for a while. Do you know what is the assignment for champions yet?" June did not pity Beth Snape, having the flu must have been dreadful. June was very happy that she rarely caught diseases, if you don't count all her minor coughs and the runny nose that haunted her in the chilliest months of the winter. But nothing couldn't be cured with a cup of hot chocolate and a warm blanket, snuggling up by the fireplace with her friends, whispering and laughing until they could barely keep their eyelids open. Glancing at Rodrigo, then at Wynn and Jenny and at last at Emma and Abe, June was glad Beth had came, since it meant that the two friends didn't have to be stuck in between two couples. Rubbing her elbow, June muttered, "I've only been out since midways into breakfast, I was hanging out by the lake with Aiden, thats why I don't have my scarf anymore," Beth, like most other hufflepuffs, had to know how June adored her scarf, even if it was just the slightest cold, June would wrap her neck in black and yellow stripes, nibbling on the end of it. She always vowed to stop doing it each year, but always fell to the temptation, "I let him borrow it, after we had shared it for a while, he was so stupid not to wear his own, you see," she chuckled to herself, shrugging as it was completely normal for June, and to be honest, it was. Looking down, she saw the Headmistress, and grinned at Beth, "I think it'll start very, very soon." |

Constanta's stomach fluttered a little when Maverick admitted he still had feelings for her. This concession made her feel like she had some power over him, though truthfully she also harbored feelings for him. She could tell that he liked having the power in a given situation, but he'd made an uncharacteristic move in putting the power of decision in her hands. She licked her lips and scooted a little closer to him even though she wasn't cold. "I say... go," she finally answered and kissed him for the first time. Their first flirtation that had ended so badly had never actually gotten physical. Now she was taking the initiative, and it felt amazing. |

Harmony and Jay stepped into the Forbidden Forest in the area where the First Task was being held. Harmony shivered involuntarily and shrank closer to Jay who, of course, was pretty smug about that and he held her tighter, protectively placing his arm around her shoulders. "So, do you think the First Task has started yet?" Harmony whispered quietly. The Forbidden Forest had the same sort of feel about it as a library, or a tomb. You felt as though you should be perfectly silent, even when you knew it would be fine to talk at a normal voice level. Jay looked around at all the groups of students chatting amongst themselves. "No, I don't think it'll start for a while yet. It seems that there are not many people here." Harmony looked around at the huge crowd of people, then stared at Jay. "You mean enough, not enough people here," she muttered to herself, "too many for me. I don't like crowds..." Jay squeezed her gently. "Don't worry, it'll all be fine. I'm sure." She looked at him and said, "I'm glad you can have such optimism." He kissed the top of her head tenderly and said, "I'm with you. Everything is good when I am with you." She glared at him, but only to hide the smile warming her face. She couldn't stop it from showing in her eyes, no matter how hard she glared, so he grinned back at her and kissed her on the top of her head again. |

Addie let a sigh of relief escape her lungs as Tristan came into her view. He'd made it in time! She knew he wouldn't chicken out of showing up, he was brave enough to be a Gryffindor after all (just much more brainy). Silently the girl contemplated the Forest, wondering what the task would be like. She supposed she'd find out soon, as the Headmistress had appeared shortly after Tristan. Now that her worry had subsided somewhat she could focus on finding somewhere, and someone to sit with. Of course, that didn't seem easy with this crowd. |

Beth had noticed that June didn't have her favorite scarf, but she didn't give it much thought before. And the explanation June gave her now only persuaded Beth that not much has changed after all. Beth smirked, June it seemed has always placed her friends' needs above her own. "Do you want mine?" she started fumbling inside her sweater before she pulled out her Hufflepuff scarf, "your lips are almost blue with cold and I'm rather warm myself." |

Rodrigo smiled and listened to the conversation. His eyes widened as June explained how she had lost her scarf. Rodrigo smiled and nodded. At least June had a little less explaining to do later on that day. But, Rodrigo had never heard of this 'Aiden'. However, considering that he did not know everyone, it didn't really matter to Rod. He was sure he'd meet him soon enough. "I think it'll start very, very soon." Rodrigo jumped, and turned his head to face the ground below the stands. His eyes darted around, until his eyes caught on the Hogwarts' Headmistress. He grinned at the other two Hufflepuff's, and pulled his jumper down a little. Rodrigo liked to look his best, even if the clothes he was dressed in weren't classed as dressy. H e then crossed his arms and shivered. If he looked really closesly, Rodrigo could see the faint wisps of air, as his warm breath collided with the icy surroundings. "The sooner the better." Rodrigo said weakly, then the realisation hit him. "You've been out in this since breakfast?!" he exclaimed. He had come out way after that. But, when Rodrigo thought about it, he had wandered about for a while, so he too had been in the cold for quite a long time. Not in comparison to Beth though. Luckily he had chosen some warmer clothes for the day. And, seeing how cold his best friend must be, he quickly unravelled his own scarf from around his neck, and pushed it into June's hand. At any other time, Rodrigo would have put his arm around her, but that would leave Beth out, and seeing as she'd just got out from the hospital, that was the last thing he wanted to do. Besides, Rodrigo didn't like excluding people if he felt he didn't have to. So he gave June his scarf instead. As soon as it was off his neck, the cold hit him. It wasn't that much worse, but he felt a little naked without it. Rodrigo smiled at June. Oh, why couldn't the winters in this country be warmer? Rodrigo thought unhappily. Just as Beth looked up she saw Rodrigo handing June his scarf instead. She smiled a knowing smile at Rodrigo and fastened her scarf back aroun her neck. "Actually, it's not such a good idea for you to keep my scarf now. I had it before, when I was ill and there might be some, you know.. germs on it. I haven't washed it yet.," lied Beth and cast her sight down so it wouldn't bee seen in her eyes, as it often was when she lied. Yes, she hated lying, but white lies couldn't hurt, could they? She looked upwards to see the astonishing colors of Autumn. Beth loved how everyhing changed from green to beautiful and warm orange, brown or yellow, falling leaves, packs of birds flying south. This was much better than the white walls she had to watch just a few days ago. She picked a large yellow maple leaf that fell onto the seat next to her and began twirling it with her fingers unconsciously. She always had to have her hands or feet occupied somehow, it was like they had a life of their own and got bored when not moving for a long time. |

Tinsley bit her lip, and it seemed a natural occurrence these days. She had always seemed to never think before she spoke, but now that silly fact was beginning to get her in the slightest bit of trouble. If there was one thing Tinsley Erin Ophelia Carmicheal knew, it was trouble. Now, though, it was beginning to make Tinsley feel a bit uncomfortable, and she stayed completely still as Julian draped his arm over her shoulders. Her mouth twitched slightly, and she smiled in spite of herself. Any girl would have killed to be her. She sighed. It's not easy being Queen. "Well," began Tinsley thoughtfully, "it's the usual. You know. My death list is always changing." Tins grinned in a self-sufficient way, as though slightly proud about this. "The usual suspects--well, Addie and Tristan I don't like, but I can certainly respect, even if it's against my will." Addie in particular was someone who Tinsley harbored a soft spot, even if she wouldn't readily agree to admitting that. Waterboard Tinsley and she still wouldn't admit to that. "Is it really news to you that I dislike so many people, I can list them? Emma Gray, Katriane Quicompoix, that pigmy puff of a boy--what's his name again? Cameron Marques..." Tinsley sneered. "And there should be another name on the list, but I don't know who's it should be. Someone's a traitor." And Tinsley wondered if her name could start with an S, and end with an awyer... |

As soon as Jenny felt Wynn beside her, with his arm around her, Jenny felt relaxed and at ease. She'd even forgive him for messing up her hair. With mock annoyance, she huffed and adjusted her hat, but giggled nonetheless and edged closer towards Wynn. And then, Beth came. Ordinarily, Jenny wouldn't have minded, but it seemed as though this girl and June were close. Jenny felt a lump rise in her throat, angry and hurt and sad and frustrated--so many emotions, it was almost inconceivable one person could harbor them. June never hugged Jenny. She never even tried. If Jenny tried to hug June, June would think there was a knife in her hand, at the ready. Feeling incredibly uncomfortable, Jenny said, in as normal a voice she could hope for, "Hey, Beth. Welcome back." She cleared her throat, glanced at Wynn, and widened her eyes just slightly, hoping that he secretly got the message. What was the message? Help me, Wynn, and get me out of here, this is not acceptable any more, why is Beth here, why, why, why--hng. But just as suddenly as this message came, Jenny felt slightly intrigued by June and Beth's relationship. What did Beth have that Jenny didn't? She wasn't as pretty as Jenny. The thought crossed Jenn's mind, and she pinched her arm for that streak of vanity. Jenny had thought her mother had stamped all of that out of her, but apparently not. Jenny was the same girl on the inside, no matter how valiantly others had try to mold her. Even the heaviest amounts of makeup can't hide true ugly. Jenny leaned in closer to June. Ugly wasn't always bad. What about the ugly duckling? He might have been ugly, but he was a legend. Being a legend didn't seem so bad, after all. "So, Beth," smiled Jenny. It was a fake smile. She hoped it wasn't obvious. "Tell me about yourself! A friend of my sister's is a friend of mine." |

"Ohmygosh!" said Violet quickly, having accidentally knocked into Addie. Oops. "Oh! Addie!" Vi smiled sheepishly and waved a small flag with the Hogwarts crest on it. The crest, after a given amount of time, shifted into a small picture of Tristan, with "GO TRIS!" in bold, black letters. Some kid had been selling them, and Vi figured she'd at least try to look festive. Try being the key word. "Sorry I bumped into you. I'm just so...excited?" Huh. |

Titine Dupont was so excited, she almost forgot her grace. A vision in powder blue, Titine had been silently hoping for the best for her great friend, Mari. It wasn't easy being the Beauxbatons champion, surely, but Tine knew that if anyone could handle the pressure and excel, it was Mari. Excited, and sure she was about to see Beauxbatons show Poudlard qui est le patron. Spotting her cousin Emma in the crowd, Titine waved madly, and then stomped over. Sure, Em hated her, but family was family. Blood was thicker than water. Most of the time, anyway. "Bonjour, mon doux Emma!" chirped Titine, sitting beside her cousin. She eyed the boy sitting beside her, and completely ignored the Poufsouffle students. "Who is your friend here? Bonjour, I am Titine Dupont. Em's cousin!" Titine had the uncanny ability to charm Emma's friends, but never Emma. She hoped today would be the same. Emma's companion was certainly the looker--and plus! Excitement was so thick in the air, how could anyone not be friendly to the beautiful French girl in power blue? (She dutifully ignored Emma's look of pure loathing just as she thought this.) |

"I actually feel great," Abe told Emma sarcastically, rolling his eyes and squeezing her bare arm. "Barely any sleep, makes me feel young again." Slowly what had started as a pair of friends attending the first task together, erupted into a massive 'group hang'. Abe shuddered slightly. Group hands always felt so awkward, like you could never have a single conversation without a million different responses. Abe didn't acknowledge the new arrivals, but not because he thought himself better or enjoyed being rude. Abe gave off a certain expression that told everyone he didn't care. Even if he did. So he played that card, over and over and over again. The only newcomer Abe recognized was that of Titine Dupont. Good looks seemed to run in the family. Abe raised his eyebrows slightly, but settled himself more comfortably against the back of his chair, wrapping his arm more securely around Emma. "Nice to meet you Titine, I'm Abe." He greeted in a tense, but friendly voice. He wasn't used to not hitting on girls but he had decided to reform his image. Starting one piece of meat...girl...at a time. |

Wynn turned his head towards Jenny as she looked at him. Her eyes widened, and there was a pained expression amongst them. What could it be that she wanted? To get out of here? Or simply that he removed his arm from around her? Was she upset at something? He had virtually no way of knowing, and thought that that ought to be a class taught at Hogwarts. How a girl's mind works. That would be much more useful than Divination, he supposed. On an ordinary day, Wynn would not have approached such a large amount of people. He was a very shy person usually, but his new found confidence couldn't be dampened by the less chipper, even if it be only by a fraction, spirit of others. This wasn't an ordinary day, though; it was the day of the First Task, and the challenge was about to commence. He looked at Jenny, who still had a reproachful look in her eye, though she had turned to face Beth and her sister, June. Wynn was uncomfortable being around so many people. He wanted to be in a secluded place with Jenny. Or rather, a more solitary place than where they currently were. It wasn't uncommon for Wynn to want to be alone with someone. Well, somebody he knew, at least. Usually he would talk to somebody one-on-one, as he didn't enjoy his conversations being overheard. It had something to do with his timid nature. There was also the fact that Jenny had looked at him with a widened expression, one that implied wanting something, wanting to escape. But she suddenly began talking to Beth, and he found that if she had wanted to leave, she would have said something. She moved closer to him, though, and made herself more comfortable. Wynn knew that she wanted to get away from the loudness and the awkward situation that was the two being around June. Wynn had gotten the idea that June was jealous of Jenny, or vice versa. It was a wonder the two didn't get along. In many aspects, they were similar, but in so many other rights, they were completely different. He supposed it was that which drove them away from each other. They were siblings, after all, and family hate was bound to arise in one or more of their relationships with each other. "Erm, Jenny," Wynn interjected, before Beth had the chance to answer her question, "did you want to, erm... find a more private place for us to be?" He stressed the word, "private." It wasn't that he didn't want to make friends, of course he did, but if they made Jenny uncomfortable, he would have to adapt. After all, there were much better people out there, there had to be! Even though these people were in Hufflepuff, the most enthusiastic of the four Houses, it did not mean that they were all around pleasant people. They could be the most sour people one would ever meet, and Wynn definitely didn't want him or Jenny to be exposed to that kind of stupidity. Here he was, talking like a bimbo, while trying to protect a girl he liked from being slandered by her sister and some other people, who may be talking nonsense as well. What could he do? He wanted to show Jenny that he cared, that he wasn't just a pretty face (which, of course, he had), and that he wanted her to be safe. Would that drive her away? Now that he thought about it, Wynn did not know much about the girl that he was sitting next to, her body nestled against his. She could strive for danger, or she could be a backseat leader. Let others enjoy the limelight while she was behind them, pulling the strings, making things work for them. She could be a thrill-seeker, or a reckless girl. There were limitless possibilities as to what the girl who was Jenny Brooks could be. She was obviously bothered by their company, Jenny, and she had a way of showing it. Wynn supposed she was trying to be polite, as to not allow her sister to gloat in front of her, or Wynn. She could want to leave them all right now, and just be with Wynn and talk, or watch the First Task together. Girls were so confusing.... |
