Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

The slight breeze that was flowing seemed to cease. Maverick thought, now that there was nothing to distract Sawyer, not much anyways, that he must speak in a much lower voice. Of course, Maverick had been half hoping for Constanta to show up. If she had shown any signs of jealousy, he would surely notice them. "Great egos, Constanta? Surely you just mean those who are great?" he said conversationally, chuckling. "And if I did not know any better, I would say that you have outdone yourself. Of course, I have seen you looking rather magnificent on a number of occasions, but today.... Oh, the light is just right and it accentuates your divine features, Constanta," he continued, in barely more than a whisper.

Maverick's eyes fell upon the large Gryffindor. He did look a bit thick, in Maverick's opinion. "Of course, I could see how I would be the... better choice. You obviously chose to speak to me, you obviously still feel some need to have interaction with me, Constanta. So, have you had any good prey lately? Or have you just been waiting for your chance to come back to me?" he said casually, trying to strike up some type of interesting conversation. Maverick knew he sounded conceited. He was, after all. A pure blood Slytherin, an exceptional one at that. "I would gladly take you back, Constanta. All you have to do, is ask," he whispered in her ear. He smiled deviously at this, and looked inconspicuously at Sawyer, knowing that she had not heard his comment. She would want him back. He knew it.

Ella raised an eyebrow at the boy's use of her surname, but brushed it off as him simply trying to be polite. "Yeah, it's nice to meet you, too,--" she paused, unsure of wether or not she should call him by his first name or "Mr. Gethner." Unable to decide, she ended up not saying anything else untill he spoke.

"Oh, well...the Hogwarts Champion is Tristan--you know Tristan Nighshade, right? He's in Ravenclaw...and then the one from Bow...Boo...I dunno, the French School is related to Kiki from Hufflepuff somehow, I don't remember her name...and the Durmstrang--" here, Ella felt her cheeks redden ever-so-slightly as her eyes fell on Piotr, but continued on in the hopes that Theilen wouldn't notice. "The Durmstrang champion's Piotr Rasputin..."

((sorry about the long wait, I was at my Grandparent's house all day yesterday and today :/ ))

Constanta was a little bit astounded at just how full of himself Maverick was, but then it wasn't wholly undeserved. Nor was it an uncommon trait among Slytherins, so she ought to be used to it by now. "Such flattery is borderline poetic. Don't tell me you've gone soft, Long," she said, amused. His companion appeared not to notice their conversation, and she was grateful, somehow.

At his mention of prey, she almost let her poker face slip. But he wasn't speaking literally. She leaned close to him. If he was so willing to take her back, why didn't he just say so? Curious."You may be privileged enough to know that I was with Ian for some time. But not anymore." She sighed. "Why would you make me ask? I thought boys loved the chase. Or are you just different somehow?"

Emma decided that, all things considered, Abe was right--and though he was joking, she definitely didn't use her head for a lot of things. She snickered now, and figured that she might as well warm up somehow. She edged in a little closer to Abe, not even caring, for the briefest moment, who would spot them. Em leaned her head on Abe's shoulder, and smiled. They were friends. Friends did these kinds of things.

Right?

"Is it silly that I'm a bit nervous?" mumbled Emma, looking through the crowd to see if she could spot her cousin. She couldn't, and felt better for it. "If I'm nervous, imagine the actual champions, right? I wish I could just, you know, be more like you sometimes."

Em spoke very softly, so that only Abe could hear. It might have been Em's imagination...but June looked about ready for a temper tantrum as soon as Em sat down.

Em grinned. Eat your heart out.

Jenny bustled through the crowd, a bright vision in yellow. Her hair swept behind her, like a long, pale blonde curtain, as she tried to strain her eyes to find her current crush of the moment, Wynn. She sighed when it seemed like he'd gotten lost in the hustle and bustle of things. Dejectedly, Jenn stuffed her hands in her pockets, and walked with her head down. Wynn was the one thing that would make this bearable. With a sad pout and a little huff out of frustration, Jenny ambled up through the crowd to find a place to sit, on her own.

When she saw her sister, sandwiched in between two handsome guys and a rather festive--Jenny snickered--looking Emma, Jenny made her way over to June, a fake smile plastered on her pale face.

"Hello, sister," greeted Jenny, sitting beside Rodrigo. "Who's your friend? It's Rod, isn't it? I'm June's sister. Jenny." Warmly, Jenny smiled and waved, her tiny hand covered in a yellow mitten to match her hat and her scarf. Hufflepuff pride certainly did have roots than ran deep.

And so did the tension amongst the Brooks'. Jenny turned her sparkling brown eyes towards June, rather...amused. "Hi, Abe. Hi, Emma."

Maverick chuckled silently. "Oh, Constanta. You never knew me to be just one of the other boys, did you? You have to know that I hold myself to a higher standard than most." His eyes wandered the surrounding seats, falling upon quite a few groups of bickering students. "How I wish a more private conversation would be allowed. It is quite loud here, would not you agree?" he added. It was true. There were more than enough people here than he knew what to do with. What would he do if somebody had overheard their conversation? "And for your information, Constanta, I most certainly have not gone soft. I am merely describing your beauty in a way fit for your hearing. The chase. The chase. I do not quite like that. See, they come to me most of the time, Constanta. I could not allow my reputation to be tarnished by doting over a woman with whom I have not interacted in so long."

"Of course you do. It's all about standards, and in our house they're higher than most," she said dryly. It was loud out there, but what could be done? The Tournament was like a Muggle sporting event in some respects, and not the good ones. She was beginning to wish they could be alone as well, since it looked like this flirting was going to lead somewhere. She nodded in the affirmative to his comment about the noise.

She sighed and smoothed her uniform skirt absently. "Well, if not the chase, then at least be direct about what you want. I can't stand that sort of mind game. Make a damned move if you want to make a move. Your reputation could hardly be damaged by being with me, anyway. So which is it?" she asked him, eyes flashing. "Yes or no?"

Rodrigo jumped as he heard a voice from his other side. He gave an uneasy smile to the girl, as she introduced herself as June's sister. Rodrigo flashed a warning glance at his best friend, before turning to look at Jenny, his eyes flicking back and forth between the sisters.

He knew that they didn't get along. Hell, for what Rodrigo had heard, Jenny hated June. So why would she come to sit with them? Other than to be plain horrible, of course. But still, Rodrigo had to be polite, he couldn't just tell her to march off. After all, it was a free country. And, well, it was the first task. Seats were now becoming limited, and the one beside him was one of the few left. Perhaps it was all just a big coincidence? But that just didn't seem likely. Nevertheless, he wasn't one to just discriminate against people and take a stupid opinion. Like what happened with Abe. He listened to the reputation, and all of the rest of it. And tha kind of what he was doing with Jenny now. He didn't know her, true June did, and his loyalties lied with her, but he had to give Jenny a chance, after all, how bad could one girl be?

Rodrigo turned his eyes back to Jenny, and gave her a rather forced and fake smile. "Yes, I am Rodrigo." he said to her, emphasizing his name. He didn't mind friends calling him Rod, in fact his older sister even called him 'Roddie', but that's because they are closest to him. And now, a complete stranger, and his best friend's sister was using a nickname. Well, it didn't give Rodrigo the best view of her.

"It's, uh. Nice to meet you, Jamie was it? No, wait, Jenny. Sorry." he smirked. Rodrigo never purposely went out to hurt anyone. It was a slip of the tongue. How could he help but forget each of the siblings' names? Besides, he had said sorry. True, Rodrigo didn't really care, but what the hey, everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Even Rodrigo.

Jenny's smile fell somewhat, and she felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. She reminded herself that, as Jenny's look-alike sister, it was perfectly plausible that Rodrigo had mixed them up unintentionally. But Jenny knew when she wasn't wanted, and around her sister, she most definitely wasn't welcome. The entire situation was amusing to Jenny for the most part, and she returned Rodrigo's smirk with a pleasant grin.

"We all get mixed up all the time," said Jenny. Friendly enough, right? She wasn't going to give June's friends ammunition to use against Jenny. They probably already hated her, anyway. Who didn't these days? Jenn could have laughed, if it wouldn't have been at Rodrigo's expense. Laughing in his face with no explanation seemed like a pretty fickle thing to do.

Jenny's mother had sworn to stamp all the fickleness out of Jenny. She might as well try.

"I guess it's understandable, considering we're related," shrugged Jenn. Even if we aren't close. It felt like snakes began to writhe in Jenny's insides. It hurt not having a proper relationship, and not even a friendship, with your very own blood. When Jenny looked at June, she even saw so much of herself--but only physically. They were two different people, in two different worlds. Jenny's stomach lurched again.

Jenny exhaled deeply, and looked around the crowd. Wynn, where are you? Jenny suddenly felt like she was bleeding...lost at sea, with hungry sharks sitting all around her.

Rodrigo did a double take. Was she being... nice? He should have known not to jump to conclusions. Previous experience had told him that. And considering the fact that June wasn't really making any massive protest again Jenny being there. Well, Rod could at least be civil to Jenny. She was her own person. What he had heard meant noting. Hearsay could be wrong. Most of the time it was.

But it wasn't as if Rodrigo had been explicitly mean to Jenny. Sure, he'd muddled up her name. And even if it was slightly intentional, it wasn't as if he was being unreasonable. Like she said, people get mixed up. It can happen. It's not always the way it seems, but the point is that it can be.

Rodrigo replaced his smirk, in favour of a hesitant, yet friendly smile. "Yes, I know what you mean." he said. They did look somewhat alike. But from Rod's view, they had completely different personalities. Rodrigo would know June anywhere, he'd never get her muddled up with someone. Not even her sister. And that is with all of the similarities on the physical side. It was just the way each of them acted. Everything right down to their body language seemed different. Everything except the way they looked. And even then, they weren't that similar. Rodrigo could tell the difference, and so he was sure many others could too.

But maybe he was just too self-confident. Having his mother dote on him when he was little mainly caused this, and her telling Rod that he could be great at anything, if he 'put his mind to it' had led to him having quite a lot of self-esteem. And that made him overconfident, so much that he felt he could ... tell the difference between two sibling. Well when he thought about it that way, Rodrigo thought it sounded stupid.

"It's nice to meet you though." Rodrigo quickly said, putting his thoughts aside.

In fact, Rodrigo didn't know why he was puzzling himself over this. The words had already been spoken after all, and there was no need to continue to ponder over June and Jenny. Rodrigo didn't know why he had in the first place. He gave a real light shrug of the shoulders, without meaning to. Rod was now feeling pretty uncomfortable in this situation. He wished that someone would come along and break up this little gathering.

Or the task starting would be equally as good.

[OOC// Crappy post, sorry.]

"She's like a cockroach," Tinsley said.

Julian looked over the heads at Sawyer from a distance, evaluating her looks to see whether he could see any trace of the vileness Tins was so convinced was there. He couldn't but he trusted her instincts. Then again she was a woman and women had a tendency to blow things out of proportion. Perhaps he would just take the opportunity should it present itself.

He walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her body, leaning it to murmur in her ear, kissing her neck, "Consider her forgotten. Besides I can think of better things to pass the time."

Sighs heavily as she stood up, she moved through the people then sat on a bench to watch the Champions though she could think of other more interesting places to be right now. She crossed a leg over the other then set her elbow on her leg which held up her head. Her violet eyes focused on Nightshade , she was amazed that he was chosen to be the Champion but happy for him nonetheless.

Sawyer shifted slightly in her seat, lost in her own world. She didn't hear the conversation between Maverick and Constanta, yet she was a little curious. Turning to them, as though she had only just realized either existed, she smiled in a friendly way. "Oh, hello Constanta," She greeted in a warm, yet slightly tense voice. Sawyer knew that Constanta and Tinsley were practically attached at the hip - or they used to be at least.

Sawyer was bored. The task hadn't stated and she was shivering. Why was she even here? She didn't even care about the tournament! Sawyer swiftly extracted her arm from Mavericks. "Well, this has been enjoyable." She announced in a sarcastic voice, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Let me know if Nightshade meets his maker." Sawyer told the two, getting up and briskly pushing her way through the crowds and leaving the First Task.

"More like me?" Abe asked in a careful tone, glancing down at Emma who had curled closer to him. Abe had to remind himself that they were surrounded by not only schoolmates, but professors and Ministry officials too. "Now, why would you want to be more like me? I mean...besides the fact that I'm extremely good looking, and pretty much amazing at everything I do..." Abe said with confidence, his smile growing.

At June's sister approached, Abe looked her up and down. That was one Hufflepuff he hadn't got...acquainted with - but he wanted to. It was only a few moments before he remembered who he was currently sitting next to, Emma. He had to keep his wandering eyes in check - besides he already knew he wouldn't go for anyone else...it would ruin his chances with the Ravenclaw. "Hey, Jenny." Abe said in a nonchalant voice, sparing her one glance before returning his gaze back to Emma. He had to show her he wasn't interested in everyone else.

Sawyer left as she noticed Constanta speaking to Maverick. He turned around, wishing to say something, to try to stop her from leaving. Well, he had gotten what he wanted. He was alone with Constanta, or rather, more alone than he was before. "So, you say, no beating around the bush? You want me to get straight to the point? Well, here it comes," he replied softly. "Yes, I am still interested in you. As much as I was before, if possible, maybe even more infatuated than the past. There is something about you, Constanta. There is something enticing about you that draws me in, and I cannot keep myself away.

"You say I have gone soft, you say that I am not like I once was, but I am as capable as I was the day you broke my wand."
He paused and grinned, allowing it to sink in. "I find no problem with my taking a liking to you, I find that it has bettered me and enabled me to work harder in order to gain your respect, to gain your acceptance.

"So, what do you say?"

"Hello, Jenny," said Emma indifferently.

Emma glanced at Abe, and smiled. Her smile came easily, like it always did these days. "Way to be modest, Abe." She rolled her round, blue eyes, and adjusted her cheek which rested comfortably against Abe's shoulder. She inhaled, and exhaled. Em couldn't think of what Abe smelled like, but he sure smelled good. Good didn't begin to describe it. Emma could have closed her eyes and drifted away with her thoughts, if it hadn't been for the nagging excitement about what was about to come, and the fact that Emma felt the heavy weight of eyes on her. As quick as lightning, Em was uncomfortable again.

"I just mean," explained Em, "that you're...hm. Can't explain it. You know, cool." Emma laughed at how silly she sounded. "Oh, just forget it. I'm being stupid. How've you been? I feel like I haven't gotten any sleep in ages."

Well, she hadn't. Spending all night in the kitchen with elves and Abe had certainly took its toll on her.

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

There were many good things about Julian T. Kahn--well, anyone that looked at him could see that. Clearly. He was smug, he was confident, he was good, and he knew he was good. Tinsley found something rare in him that she hadn't seemed to find in anyone else, and it was an effortless friendship with certain benefits that existed between this power couple.

Now, as Julian kissed Tinsley's neck, she appeared to have forgotten just how...useful Julian could be. He was a friend, of the close variety, who seemed to know, understand, and appreciate the way Tinsley's wicked mind worked. That was rare. Ian wouldn't do this, would he? Ian had never even hugged Tinsley for longer than he had to...

That's it.

Tinsley turned around and slung her arms over Julian's shoulders, wrapping her arms around his neck. She grinned mischievously, a glint in her eyes. "Oh really? What are these better things you speak of?" Tins paused, and then chuckled. "You don't mean what I think you mean, do you?"

Laughing freely, Tinsley pursed her lips. "You have a vivid imagination. Which is something I like. It'll come in handy." Tins pressed her lips, tauntingly, against Julian's, and pulled away in nearly the same moment. "It's why I keep you around."

"I'm Julian Kahn. So you know exactly what I mean." His eyes closed for that brief second her lips touched his, breathing deeply her scent. It was something that no other girl, not even Jordanna, could rouse in him. It was almost like a drug and it was why he would always keep her as his number one. Tinsley Carmichael and Julian Kahn were two attractive peas in the pod that was Hogwarts, except these two peas ruled the pod as opposed to just being housed in it.

"It's why you keep me around? And here I thought I was the one in control," he smirked. Deep down he knew he was but perhaps Tinsley had more control over him than he was willing to admit. He did keep coming back to her, or was it she who kept returning to him?

His hands ran down the curvature of her back and onto her buttocks, squeezing it gently before releasing her completely. "As much as I'd like to get out of here, the alure of watching Nightshade get stuffed inside a tree is too tempting. Join me?" he motioned towards the grandstand, a spot well away from the cretins from the other houses.

"Did you even have to ask?" smirked Tinsley, placing her hands on her hips as she briskly walked towards the grandstand, taking a seat. She patted a space beside her, smiling in her usual Tinsley way--bold and confident, questioning, but still knowing the answer. It was effortless. It was a spot well away from prying eyes, and Tinsley felt comfortable there, knowing that she and Julian wouldn't have to keep their voices down if they wanted to openly discuss something.

Too bad Tinsley wasn't feeling too open, at least in the emotional sense. It's a tad bit hard to let someone into your emotions when you're stifling them. Tins knew all too well. Shooting a furtive glance over her shoulder, Tinsley said unsurely, "So, Tristan, stuffed into a tree...honestly, the mental image is one I'll always cherish."

"Too bad he's the only one going to die today," added Tinsley offhandedly. It slipped.

It was hard having the sharpest tongue in Slytherin sometimes.

Wynn walked onto the grounds and walked over to a group of Hufflepuffs, and a Ravenclaw. Amongst them, he noticed Jenny Brooks, the girl he had asked to the Yule Ball. There was also Abe Halifax and June Brooks, also Hufflepuffs, and Emma Gray, a Ravenclaw and Prefect. He grinned and put his arm around Jenny and spoke. "Hey, there," he said. "How are you guys today?" He looked among them and nodded at each of them in turn, and ruffled the hair on Jenny's head.

The Task was supposed to have started. He thought he was late, but the headmistress hadn't arrived yet. And good, too. If he were to be the last one to show up at the task, what kind of impression would most get?
