Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

"More? That can be ... arranged." he said, his eyes sparked mischievously and Mitchell's heart quickened a lot in a few passing seconds. Nothing would happen yet, Mitchell was sure of that. She, of course, was going out with some unknown boy. And Mitchell sure as hell didn't want to get on the wrong side of another Slytherin. But if he did, it didn't seem that Dave was such a match for Mitchell, in his opoinion anyway. The truth was probably much different. But, after all, pride is a good thing to have. Besides, Mitchell was fine with being friends with Precious, in the future was a different story, however.

When Mitchell thought about it, he and Preci did have quite a bit in common. Their personalities got on well, at least that's what he thought. Where Precious seemed to make a big deal out of everything, Mitchell didn't. And perhaps that's what they both needed. Opposites. But then, there was his temper. Which, was becoming less and less frequent now-a-days. For the better, or worse, it was difficult to tell. But for the case with Mitchell and Precious, well, they had a lot more in common than first met the eye. You only get to know that someone is a pureblood by them telling you, and even then they could lie. Or if they make up a big fuss, as Precious does, you definitely know that they are telling the truth. You wouldn't discriminate against yourself.

On the topic of blood status, it reminded him of Jocelyn. Mitchell considered her to be pure when he first met the girl, and only later did he find out that she wasn't. But thinking things like that could be dangerous, something could slip. So Mitchell quickly moved onto other matters. Like the fact that Mitch hadn't seen Joss around for a while. But judging on the encounter he was having with Precious, he clearly hadn't paid much attention to people over the past weeks. Or years.

"Oh, and I'm very sure, Precious." Mitchell said, winking. His tone was a little quieter now. Althought there was no need for it, the crowd was more or less moving away from them toward the seats now.

And as for the last comment, well Mitchell decided to skip over answering that one. It would only end badly, after all. Mitchell concentrated on other things. He noticed that Precious was tapping his shoulder. As she was doing so, Mitchell's eyes slid away from Precious' face and toward her hand. He watched her fingers for a while, before his gaze returned to her face. Mitchell slid his tongue over his top row of teeth, and said nothing. Sometimes, it was better to be quiet. And some things were best left unsaid.

Well, rumors were rumors, really, and after hearing so many himself, Thielen supposed he shouldn't be surprised that one had popped about him somewhere. But even that sounded funny, he wasn't the one to advertise his family history, since it was strange and controversial (and maybe even a tad illegal?) so it was certainly a mystery to him that enough intel could be gathered to form an actual rumor. Maybe it was about the records being forged, or maybe it was about the many scars his sported, or the missing finger, or--

--Or maybe he was reading too much into and the rumor just said he was odd.

"I'm Theilen Gethner," said Thielen, hesitating a moment when she (Eleonore Collins) held out her hand. But then he realized that not many people held out their left hands for a shake, so his worries were ceased, for the moment. He shook, and offered a vague smile. Thielen was in the habit of calling everyone by their surnames, because that was a habit that his father had forced into him, so they could remember which families were friendly and which families were not. Hogwarts, though, told him that he still didn't know many things.

"...And it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Collins." Girls were always 'miss' something, and boys were just the surname. "I'm afraid I've been out of it these past weeks, I'm not even quite sure who the champions are..."

Triwizard Tournament Judge & Wealthy Philanthropist
[ * ]
Jeremiah had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Mr Nightshade. If for some reason he failed to show up then the magical contract would be void and he would be unable to compete, rendering their master plan all but useless. Every few minutes he would check his watch, hte hands ticking further and further towards certain doom. But fate finally came through with Mr Nightshade shwoing up quite out of breath but able to compete.

"Sorry....I'm....late! Got....caught....up!"

He looked at the boy with his usual neutral expression but his insides were fuming, Idiot boy! Do you realize how close you came to ruining everything!

Jeremiah looked to the other judges to see if they were ready to inform the Champions of what they would be doing. It was Jeremiah's task to make sure that nothing stood in Mr Nightshade's way.

Abe sat on the opposite side of June, having her wedged in between both him and Rodrigo. "There's Tristan!" He informed the other two, pointing to where the Ravenclaw standing. "Looks like he didn't chicken out after all..." Abe laughed, nudging June in the arm gently. "Now that he's here, it won't be too long until the task starts..." Abe said knowingly, although it seemed to him quite obvious. The only reason the task hadn't started yet was because of Tristan, and now that he was finally here...it could begin. And end. And then they could all go back to the castle and be warm again...

Nate too had been secretly worried that Tristan had gotten a case of nerves and was perhaps not going to show up, but all fears and anxiety was laid to rest when he suddenly appeared looking in high spirits given the circumstances. Professor Aphelion nodded warmly to the boy, his stomach loosening where before it had been tight and nervous. He stepped towards the Champions, "In a moment each of you will be given instructions on what you are to do in the first task. Now as you can guess the task will take place in the Forbidden Forest so you'll all need to be on your highest alert." He stepped back and awaited one of the judges to explain the task.

Putting some stray locks of hair behind her ear, she just laughed when Abe nudged her. Resting her head towards the seat, June was very tempted to lean just a little towards Abe, so she'd be lying with her head nestled nicely on his shoulder. Still, she didn't dare try, Abe might not like it, and if Abe did, then Rodrigo would just feel uncomfortable, "I guess so, oh, I've never seen a tournament before, this is going to be fun," exclaimed the sweet girl, smiling from ear to ear, "Or, I hope it will. It will be exciting though, don't you think so?"

She rubbed her feet against eachother, trying to keep them warm in the chilly air, "I really wish I didn't let him have my scarf now," June said, a chuckle escaping her mouth, giving Rodrigo a 'I'll explain later' look, "Or that they did a couple charms to make it a little warmer at least,"

"Really? Hmm . . . Sounds like a date then." Precious said with a giggle. She removed her hands from her pockets and folded them across her chest. she absolutely loved it when she knew boys wanted her. It was the thrill of that feeling that made her flirt with so many boys. And having Mitchell in the palm of her small hand was so interesting. Thank God for being so gorgeous.

"Come on now, Mitch, let's not get too excited." she said with a smirk.

Rodrigo gave a small chuckle. Sometimes, June did make him laugh so much. And quite a lot of the time, it was without meaning to. "It'll feel warmer in a bit, when we've been out in this for a while." Rodrigo said, it was definitely more to reassure himself, rather than June. Rodrigo wrapped his arms around his chest. It was in the cold winter months when he missed Italy terribly, especially the warm weather. Rodrigo wondered how the Beauxbatons' students were feeling, living in the sunny weather all the time, and then coming to this. The Durmstrangs' looked as if they arrived from much colder weather, so he was sure they'd be fine.

"Or, maybe not." he finally admitted. Rodrigo wondered why June didn't just huddle up to Abe, but that was probably because of his presence. It would make him feel a little uncomfortable, but he supposed that he wouldn't mind. Not really.

The task was bound to start soon though, and that meant that soon enough they'd be inside. In the warm castle.

Mitchell snorted. "Now, now, Preci. Am I really the only excited one?" he teased. Sure, it could have multiple meanings. Many students were all about the tournament. Him? Not so much. Somehow, Mitchell doubted Precious was either. Another example of how alike they actually were. In fact, he doubted that most of his house was excited at all. There was nothing to be excited about!

"I look forward to it." he referred to Precious' penultimate statement, a small smirk tugging at his lips. Mitchell then wondered why it was he was spending so much time with pretty girls this year. Not that he was complaining. It was fine by him, but it just seemed a little strange for a moment. But that moment was gone.

As a gust of wind hit them, Mitchell shivered. Spending time outside didn't sound so great to him. He just wanted to leave. And pretty son at that.

"Hey, Preci, want to ditch?" he asked. Sure, them going off together would seem a little odd. But in all truth, Mitchell didn't care if she said no, he'd go alone. No problem.

Zhiyu made her way to a seat near some other Gryffindors to wait for the First Task to begin. She hadn't entered her name into the Goblet because she somewhat doubted her ability to think under pressure, but she was excited to see how Hogwarts' champion would do against the obstacles. She surveyed the crowd as well, noting the presence of many Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students.

Precious smirked. Did Mitchell just give her a nick name? "Well . . . Yes." Precious said, cocking her head to the right. She smiled at him. She was starting to believe she could trick this boy to do whatever she wanted. And then he asked if they wanted to ditch. Well, that was no surprise. Of course he wanted to be alone with her. A sly smile appeared on Precious' lips. It was fun to play hard-to-get.

"Ditch? Oh Mitch, you're such a bad boy." Precious said, pushing him gently on the shoulder. "But I've got front row seats. Who wants to miss that?" she asked with a smirk.

"If you say so, Preci." he smirked. If that was the way she wanted to play, then Mitchell was cool with that. But for the moment he was stuck for what to do. On the one hand, it'd be embarassing if he left right at that moment, and that wasn't the way he tended to do things. But then, on the other, if he stayed with Precious, after expressing an interest in leaving, then it wouldn't give a great impression. Decisions, Decisions.

Then again, part of the thrill of the game, was in the chase. Who cared if he stuck around for a little longer? And hell, it'd probably be more fun if he was near Precious anyway. She always seemed to make such drama, so much that the interest in it, would top Mitchell's of the first task.

And about her boyfriend, this Dave bloke. Well, Mitchell would just block him from his mind completely. There was no need to be bothered with such trivial things as her being in a relationship. Like Precious had said, it shouldn't stop him. It usually wouldn't. So there was no need for it to now. Besides, there was no sign of him as of present. And if he turned up? Well, there was nothing wrong with Mitchell spending time with another Slytherin, albeit a girl, and a hot one at that. But, there souldn't be too much of a problem. So, a win-win situation. Kind of.

"These front row seats of yours..." Mitchell said, pushing around thoughts, with a small smile on his lips. "I think we should go and get them." he said, as if no wasn't an answer. "Even if they are reserved." Mitchell chuckled under his breath, and took a few steps toward the seating area. He then looked over his shoulder, with an eyebrow raised.

"Coming?" he called.

"Of course, Mitchie." Precious hissed. Shouldn't she be making nick names with Dave? "Don't worry, I doubt anybody would want to take my seats. Unless if they want to be mass murdered." she said with a sneer. She grabbed his wrist and pulled him to the stands. There in the first row, were two third year Hufflepuff boys. They were deep into conversation. Precious smirked. How cute. "Move." Precious barked. The two boys looked up at her. "But Precious! We sat here for hours to get these seats!" one of them said. See? She had quiet a reputation. "I don't care. Now move before I mass murder you." Precious threatened. She stared them down with her ice cold, blue eyes. Reluctantly, the two boys got up and walked off, mumbling to themselves.

Precious released Mitchell's wrist and sat down. Since she was small and petite, there was enough room for three people. "You see, Mitchie? I always get what I want. And no one can stand in the way of that," Precious explained. She set her Prada bag up next to her. "So, are you going to give me what I want or am I going to have to castrate you?" she asked with a sneer.

Mitchell blinked. He sat down, slowly next to Precious. Had she called him, Mitchie? Now that just irked him. Mitch, he could live with. But Mitchie?! What was the point? Had he not been given a name to be called by it? Mitch was pushing the boundaries. And then, well, it was going a little - if not a lot - too far. Not that he was going to say anything, he could live with nicknames, he had done all his life, so an extra one wouldn't make a difference. But, Mitchell could tell the drama had begun.

He supposed that he had just brought it upon himself. Naming her Preci, instead of Precious. But, the nickname would stick. Mitchell would make sure of that. But he sure hoped that Mitchie wouldn't. Of course, it would probably be less annoying after a while, but nevertheless. He was Mitchell... not Mitchie.

"Precious, was there really any need for that threat?" They both knew that in his present state of mind, Mitchell would do just about anything for Precious. Whether that would continue once the first task had been completed, well he was unsure. But for the time being, she had him wrapped around her little finger. Almost.

A part of him wondered what it was she wanted. But Mitch would wait and see if she went into specifics. "Am I going to give you what you want?" Mitchell rolled the question over, saying it quietly.

"We'll see." he smiled smugly.

"It was either that or I spill his guts everywhere and shove his brain up his-" Precious stopped herself. She was pretty sure Mitch wouldn't need to see her dark side. She smiled at him. "So, the threat was basically . . . Required? I dunno..." she said slowly. The Slytherin reached into her bag and pulled out her MAC vintage jewel compact mirror. She opened it and began to admire her reflection. "Don't mind me, I'm just freshening up." Precious said, reaching into her bag to pull out a tube of Cheery LipGloss. She reapplied some on her lips, then shut the compact with a loud CLICK!

"Do you even know what I want, Kalvor?" Precious asked, screwing on the cap of the LipGloss. She threw both items back into her bag. "I mean, really. Half the guys I've been with didn't have a clue." she added, zipping her bag closed.

Mitchell hesistated for a fraction of a second. Could he honestly say to Precious that he knew what she wanted? No. But he took a pretty good guess, and it left him with a fairly strong idea. There wasn't much that Precious didn't have already, when Mitchell actually considered the options. She clearly had the money, the clothes and such. After watching this transfer of her 'just freshening up' he was certain she wasn't doing too badly.

And then she had the looks, and that meant boys falling at her feet. So anything on that side of things, Mitchell was sure Precious had plenty of. Of course, she had the friends too. As she so clearly said, 'being at the top wasn't easy'. So most aspects on the people side of things were covered too.

In fact, Mitchell wasn't wholeheartedly sure what she wanted after all. But, that wouldn't stop him. He didn't want to be in the said half, but there was nothing stopping Mitchell falling into that category in a single second. Unless...

"Why don't you just see, what I have to offer." Mitchell finally said. It could have been a question, but it wasn't. Mitchell didn't say it so. It was more of a statement. He cocked his head back, and waited for Precious' reaction. Sure, he hadn't exactly answered the question. He had carefully skimmed over that, but, the answer felt fine to him. But there was something nagging at him, from the pit of his stomach. Something that made Mitchell feel like he hadn't said enough, like he needed to expand.

"Because, well Precious. I don't think you really know what you want." He paused, his eyes flickering to the floor, and back to her face again. Mitchell was unsure of whether to continue, he was unsure what her reaction would be if he did. But he felt like he must go on, if only to explain. "To the outside, you don't need anything. You have the money, the stuff, you name it. But I know that there must be something there which you wish wasn't. Something which you don't want. Be it a secret, a dilemma, anything. But the one thing which I'm not talking about is possessions, or objects - because those can be discarded. But, Preci, everybody has secrets, things which they don't like. Heck, even I do. And we wouldn't be normal if we didn't. But that won't stop us wishing they would go away." he stopped, and licked his lips. "And, I know this might sound stupid, so correct me if I am wrong. But that is the reason, why other than that, those little nagging things which everyone has, I don't think that girl really knows what they want. If they're honest with themselves. Not really." he concluded.

"Which is why, it is just so much better to see what I have to offer. Because that way, no-one loses." Mitchell sat still, with his arms folded across his chest, looking at Precious. A small smile was fixed on his lips.

"Pity, blessing, I confused the two momentarily. But, yes, I am sure I would feel something if Nightshade died. Jubilation, happiness," Maverick replied as Mitchell Kalvor walked away. And it was good that he did, he was a sot. "Speak of the devil," he added, as Tristan Nightshade emerged onto the grounds, running toward the judges, hyperventilating.

"This pointless thing will finally begin. Excellent, for I was growing weary of the waiting. Now, Sawyer, let us simply sit back, and watch." He smiled at Sawyer, then turned his attention to the forest. The First Task was about to begin.

Bex grinned, charmed and amused by her remark. Perhaps he wasn't the only one who was at a loss for words. Briefly, he wondered if she liked him. I mean, they barely knew each other, but still. It wasn't too premature to have a little crush, right? After all, he was intrigued by both Avery and Cosette, and he hadn't known them for very long.

"My parents? They own a restaurant. A Russian-American restaurant. Very delicious food. My mom is an amazing cook. What about your folks?"

His thoughts drifted to his family. He missed his mother and his sister; he had always been closer to the females of the family. After all, they had been the only ones excited for his magical capabilities.

He snapped himself out of those thoughts. He made a mental note to write his mom and Dahlia whenever he had a chance, but at the present moment he refocused his attention on Avery.

Alan Shelley

The seconds were ticking by, collecting into minutes and wafting away. Nothing was happening. The Champions were all together, and there were a bunch of people around, and a general buzz of conversation, but not a single thing of interest occurred anywhere. Surely someone was snogging, and deep in the Forbidden Forest something was likely losing its life or fighting for it, but none of these things presented themselves. And, unfortunately, Alan did not bring a book. After all, who brings entertainment to something like a Tournament?

But for all its prestige, it was taking forever to start, and Alan became impatient. Rising from his seat, he made his way to the top of the stand and leaned against a tower, decked in a tri-fold banner, depicting the emblems of the three competing schools in one tapestry. Leaning back, such that his body hung over the edge, induced a strong feeling of gravity, and was enough entertainment for now.

Boredom, however, was very close by.

Lithia entered the Forbidden Forest looking around gently, she sighed heavily as she sat down against a tree watching the scene unfold infront of her. She wanted to be left alone, she was sick of people talking to her then not talking to her. She wanted to have friends but that didn't seem like it was going to happen so she's decided to give up. She sat there watching and thinking to herself, she placed her hea don her knees.
