| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. "Yeah. I am Tinsley's friend." She slipped her hand into his, her handshake firm, but not unladylike. She let her palm linger against his for a moment longer than necessary, giving him a coy smile. She had seen Tinsley and him together, but as far as she knew they weren't together. Besides, she was sure Tinsley wouldn't mind if she did a little flirting. It couldn't do her harm to get to know some other people. So far the only people she knew were Precious and Tinsley, not counting her brief encounter with that wretched Emma girl. She gave Ian a discreet once over, satisfied with what she saw. He seemed polite enough for her taste, charming but not disgustingly so. She smiled a little wider and shifted her weight onto one black ankle booted foot. She felt very small with no heels on, a mere 5'3", but she was confident. She knew she was hot and her self-assurance seeped from her flawless pores. "So. Ian...Why don't I already know you? We are in the same house, and as far as I know we have the same friends. So just why is it we aren't...closer?" Cole turned the thought over in her mind. Getting closer to Ian de Ponte du Lac. It was an interesting notion, indeed. She was sure of one thing, though, and it was that if she had any control over anything--and oh she did--they would definitely be getting closer. Much closer. |

Ella sighed and glanced around--Tristan was still nowhere to be seen, and she was finding herself becomming more and more bored. However, much to her dismay, everyone whom she would even consider speaking to seemed to be busy. Just as she was about to resign herself to the fact that she was just going to have to sit around and wait (something she hated with a passion--patience may be a virtue, but it is not one possessed by Eleonore Collins.) she noticed someone sitting a few feet away, a Ravenclaw whom she was sure was in her year, although his name escaped her. He was something of an oddball, or so she had heard, but anything was better than sitting alone, bored, right? Brushing her hair out of her face, Ella stood up and made her way over to where the Ravenclaw boy was sitting and pointed to the vacant seat next to him. "Is that taken?" (((bah, deffinatly one of those posts that sound much better in your head lol))) |

Come to think of it, Ian wasn't quite sure why he didn't know Cole better than he did. He supposed, perhaps, because he'd always been sort of chasing after Tinsley for most of his years at Hogwarts, having only noticed that other girls existed when he'd met Lola. Best not to think about her. After that, he'd sort of given up on Tinsley, so it was only a matter of time that he'd start noticing the likes of Cole. Then again, it could have also been the seizures, the visions, the voices in his head, his ability to manipulate water, and his insane step-brother who apparently wants to kill him that had distracted him from anyone not directly involved with this mess. Yeah, it was probably that, too. "I've no idea, really," said Ian, laying on as much charm as he felt comfortable laying--which, in fact, was a lot. Cole started it. Ian was good at reading people when he was actually paying attention to their face and body language and not lost inside his own head--and how could he not be paying attention to Cole's face and body. And Cole was not a difficult one to read, at least not in this situation. "So, did you want to get closer?" his tone was casual as possible, as he did not feel the need to imply anything as Cole had already done it. |

Avery shrugged, "Yeah... at least until it starts, for sure," she said. Again, she felt a little out of place when Bex asked about Cosette, but quickly passed it off as being uncomfortable from the cold. She quickly threw on her jacket and frowned. Where had she gotten to? She thought about it. "Sorry, haven't seen her since this morning in the common room," she said. She began tapping her foot, looking around for the champions. She was beginning to feel bored. She hated feeling bored. But she couldn't exactly just walk away when the tournament was so close to starting, could she? Ah, well, her best bet was just some polite conversation, she assumed. "So... what do your parents do for a living?" she asked. Cringe. Lame. Oh well, he was after Cosette anyway, so it seemed. Besides, Avery wasn't going out of her way to impress anyone. Not by a long shot. ooc: ... >.< |

Cash shrugged, "Vell, if it was me as Champion, I vould hope my fellow Durmstrangs vould be rooting for me..." He said simply, rubbing his forearm. "I cannot help be vonder vat the girl's skills might be. But if we are being honest, Piotr has had the most training." Durmstrang was well known for it's teaching the Dark Arts, and Hogwarts was known for shunning the Dark Arts. They had a class devoted to Defense Against the Dark Arts. Cash and his fellow schoolmates knew how to cast spells the other champions knew how to defend. Although, Cash did not think it was only the champions that Piotr was facing. "The tasks, they vill be challenging of course. I vonder vat vays the will test those competing." Cash wondered aloud, a crease forming between his eyes. "Vat ever they are facing, I hope that the Hogvarts boy isn't too overvhelmed. The Goblet, and some of the students seem to have faith in him. Perhaps ve are underestimating him..." Cash offered, although his tone suggested that the boy wasn't as skilled as his school buddies seemed to think. Perhaps the Goblet had been wrong. But it was a profoundly magical object...still, Cash had his doubts. |

Thielen was good at being a chameleon, mostly, because it made it things much easier, he could observe things in the background without being noticed, really. But there was something to be said about eavesdropping on too many conversations that they went over his head, and besides, the Forbidden Forest pre-schoolwide event was not a good place to practice solace either. He was rubbing his temple idly before he noted that someone was speaking to him. His reaction was slow, because his mind was elsewhere, and he blinked at her with his gray and hazel eyes before he realized what she was asking. She was a Slytherin, and one that would consent to speak to him? Thielen took great care about memorizing everyone's names, but not so much their names, since he never really spoke to anyone. And no one could really expect him to keep up with all the gossip that he heard. "No, this seat isn't taken, would you like to sit?" He kept his left hand out of sight though, he didn't want to explain about his missing ring finger, yet again. Sometimes he'd tire of telling the same old story over and over again. Alan sat and watched. Distant. He had entertained hopes of being selected as the Champion. An opportunity to compete. Rivalries were developmental. Anything to drive him toward strength would be beneficial. And, solo exercise was not delivering what he craved: creative, dynamic challenges. More adrenaline. He was not thoroughly upset, however. He figured he would not be selected. No matter. It's not like he would argue with a goblet. The bench was comfortable, less because of any special quality in its structure and more because of the magic he had placed upon it. The day wore on. Alan wasn't entirely sure what was going on at the moment, or how far festivities had progressed (having slept in rather late that morning), but he was determined to have a strong opinion on it. Strong opinions were never in short supply. |

Abe nodded at Rodrigo, offering him a friendly grin. He couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of the way June flung herself at their housemate - even if they said they were best friends...best friends always became something more. That was true in Abe's case at least. "Tristan's not here. But I don't think he's chickened out." Abe said confidently, craning his neck to see above the heads blocking his few of the champions. Sure enough, just like June stated, only Mariane and Piotr had arrived, both standing together seperate from the crowd but not looking as though they were interacting. "Finding seats sound good to me, Rodrigo, you coming?" Abe asked, merely out of curtosy. He knew the answer before he posted the question, but nevertheless the need to impress June with his gentlemen side overtook him once more. He had ended things with her. Ended something that had barely begun. So why did he work so hard at impressing her when others were around? When they were together, he was just Abe. But when surrounded, he was Super Abe the Gentlemen. Taking June's small hand in his, Abe smiled down at her, and then looking expectantly at Rodrigo as he nodded his head towards the cluster of seats. |

Beth entered the grounds and walked towards the crowd hesitately. She was just released from St.Mungo's where she'd stayed with a bad case of flu. She didn't feel great but was well enough to persuade the healers to let her back to Hogwarts. And she would feel devastated if she didn't get to see the tournament. Quidditch and all kinds of tournaments were really her thing. A slight smile appeared on her face as she looked around for some solitary student, since all the groups seemed to be talking or otherwise engaged, she could ask what was going on so far. Oh those hospitals nowadays, they don't even let you know the news about such an important even as the famous Triwizard Tournament.. unbelievable. |

Mitchell nodded. "I guess that pretty much covers the basics." he said, whilst shrugging. Mitchell had gathered that Precioius was in a relationship with some boy - he had seen them around together for most of the year. But yet, Mitchell had no idea who he was. Dave McKelvey? Never heard of him. But then, Mitchell hadn't heard of a lot of people, like Precious' sister and cousins. And, well, most others if he was honest. Especially those outside of his house. And out of his year? Well Mitchell had no clue. "As time goes on, we'll get to know each other better anyway." he smiled, a slight hint of slyness was hidden at the corners of his lips. Mitchell kept his tone as natural as possible, trying to seem casual. Mitchell waved his right hand in a single jerk to one side, as if trying to swat a fly. Mitchell then dug the hand deep into his pocket, and kicked a stone away from his foot, watching as it rolled away down the slight slope. He now had a vague impression of who Precious was, and she of him. But like he had said, it was easier to find out what a person was like simply by spending time with them. When you ask them for information directly, it always seems to get the same sort of response - where they live, family life and so on. Basically most things outside of Hogwarts. Mitchell always found the easiest way to get to know someone, was to simply be around them. Whether it was alone, or with other people. It let him build up a bigger mental image of the person and their personality. Not that Mitchell didn't already have a large impression of Precious' personality. And if he was wrong. It wasn't hard to guess. "Oh, don't worry. It won't stop me." he smirked. |

So, did you want to get closer? Cole grinned wryly, her cat-like eyes sparkling in the most delicious and devilish manner. Did she want to get closer to Ian? Hah. That was an enormous, italicized, underlined, capitalized yes. "Well, now that just depends. Just how close are we talking? That could greatly influence my decision." She turned her head, scanning for Tinsley again, but she still couldn't manage to find her. Oh well. Finders, keepers. She turned to look back at Ian, fiddling with the gray scarf around her neck, her platinum locket shining as the sun danced over her. She let her fingers slip over the little heart and briefly remembered that Tinsley wore a similar necklace. She readjusted her scarf so that it covered the locket. There was no point at all in having it be seen, especially if it would remind Ian of Tinsley. And that would just be unacceptable. Her long blonde curls blew over one shoulder with a large gust of wind. Somehow, much like a cat, she always managed to position herself so that no matter what the lighting or weather conditions, she still looked fabulously attractive. Her mind sort of drifted for a moment, turning over a few random thoughts of Tinsley and Precious. How in the world had she managed to break into this exclusive circle, the one she had been hovering outside of since she arrived at Hogwarts in her third year? And now she was already a source of disruption among the elite. She smiled a little to herself, proud of her accomplishment. Now all she needed was the perfect boyfriend to complete her perfect life. |

Diana sat, peering up at the forest. The trees swayed slightly in the wind, and then briefly lifted her own hair as the wind went past. This forest certainly had magic. And she was glad Tristan had been chosen as champion. Diana didn't like going into situations without knowing what was going to happen. Plan first, act later. Still, it would have been a beautiful day to fly. Perhaps she might take out her broomstick and lap the Pitch a few times when the task was over. |

Katriane, who had just arrived, carried two flags in her hand. The Blue one for Ravenclaw and the light Blue one for Beauxbatons. She saw Beth and patted her lightly on the shoulder as she went through, looking for !Xabbu. "Hey, Beth! Welcome back!" Kiki said. It was her buisness as prefect to know when students weren't in school. "I'll see you around!" she called as she moved through the crowd. |

Rodrigo nodded, and took a few steps toward the seats, before turning back and looking at the other two Hufflepuff's he had been having a conversation with. "If that's alright with you?" The question, was undoubtedly directed at Abe. Rodrigo knew that June wouldn't have a problem sitting with him. He was her best friend after all. That was what he hoped anyway, that she didn't feel Rodrigo was jumping into somewhere he was not welcome. His mother would have told Rodrigo not to fuss over that sort of thing, and of course she would want to sit with him. But that was what all mothers seemed like to Rodrigo, encouraging and so on. But still, Abe and June were close, or so Rodrigo still believed anyway, even if the atmosphere did seem a little solemn when he first arrived. With a quick smile, Rodrigo headed toward the seats, and took one with quite a large space to his right hand side. That way, June and Abe could sit together, and he could be on the end. Or, if they so wished, they could choose to sit in a completely different area. Seeing as they were going to the First Task together, Rodrigo didn't want to intrude, but likewise he would love to sit with his friends, and not with random people he didn't know. He could have solved this problem beforehand for himself, though. He could have asked someone to go to the task with him . But, the problem was, he didn't know who to ask. The people he did know, whom he would consider asking, well he hadn't seen much of them for quite a large section of the year. Annabella, for example, Rodrigo had been trying to stay away from. After Halloween they weren't on the best of terms, and Rodrigo preferred to stay out of sticky situations. If she happened to come by him, he wouldn't be rude or anything of that kind, it wasn't what Rodrigo was all about, but he would rather stay away from a Hufflepuff with that much jealousy and attitude in her. At least for the time being, anyway. He wouldn't stay like this forever, Rodrigo knew that eventually he'd have to stop making such a big effort, but at that moment, he was fine with avoiding Anna. On the subject of girls he hadn't had much contact with, Ida Voikin sprung into Rodrigo's mind. He hadn't talked to her much either, since Halloween. He even wondered if he'd see her at the task, unlike the case with Annabella, Rodrigo did hope he would. He would like to catch up with her, even if it was just briefly. She was nice, after all. But a nagging feeling told him otherwise. She had wanted to be champion, so seeing one of her peers compete probably wouldn't be the best of times for her. And if she did come, she'd probably sit with her peers too, hence what Rodrigo was going to do. He much preferred sitting with those he knew, as oppose to complete strangers. This was probably the case with most people, like Ida. Nevertheless, a boy can hope. Rodrigo turned his head to the side, to see if he could spot either June or Abe coming toward him. They either were caught in the flow of people that were heading for the seating area, or they had taken a seat elsewhere. So Rodrigo clasped his hands together and relaxed back into the seat. Waiting. |

June felt a sweet tingle in the depths of her heart when Abe was so kind and sweet towards Rodrigo. He just kept surprising her and June loved it. Blushing softly when he took her hand, June turned to Rodrigo her eyes filled with childish love and hope, before wondering if she should take his aswell, but she decided that it would just be weird. Instead she hoped the spark in her eyes would make him more comfortable with the situation, make him more ok with the fact that he was a third wheel on the wagon, even if June did not mind. She did not want her friend to feel like he was not welcomed, and Abe showed that he did not mind, so it would be terrible if her best friend felt like that. She caught herself wondering why Rodrigo was not with the Durmstrangs, looking after Ida, the girl who had stolen his heart. Perhaps she would not turn up, she was disappointed that she was not the champion after all. The girl just hoped it would work out between them, Rodrigo deserved the best, and nothing less. Her eyes returned to Abe, admiring him. She still could not understand how he was able to pick her out of all the beauties that hogwarts kept. He could have anyone, Mariane Quicompoix, hell, he could even have Tinsley Carmichael if he wanted. And yet, he chose to be with June. It made her feel warm, and it also made her wonder if he was crazy or had bad eyes, but stil, it was good. Sitting down next to her best friend, she leaned forward and whispered excited into his ear, "I've got so much to tell you later on," Sitting up straight, June resolved to nibbling on her bottom lip. Tilting her head upwards so she could grin at Abe, June wondered how this would go. Humming on a song, she sighed, "I hope they start soon, I'm so excited to see what's going to happen!" |

"Yes, but I don't want you to know the basics. I want you to know more." Precious said with a wink. Was he flirting with her? She couldn't tell. All she hoped was that Dave wasn't watching from somewhere far off. She leaned back and her eyes searched the crowd for a second. He wasn't there. She straightened up her spine and bit her bottom lip. Precious was safe-for now. Dave always appeared at the most random times. "Yeah, I hope to get to know you more," she said, shoving her gloved hands into her coat pockets. Her giant earrings dangled with the wind. "After all, we are both very much alike." Precious added. Mitch was a Slytherin, pureblood, no blood traitor, and from what she had heard: had a bad temper. They did indeed, have a lot of common. So what was there not to love? Though Precious wouldn't say she herself had a bad temper, it was just she was the Scene Queen. That's all. "Oh? Are you sure about that?" Precious asked, arching a neatly plucked eyebrow. She could have Mitchell in a heart beat-and they both knew it. But Mitchell was too late. Precious' heart was already with someone else. But still, it didn't hurt to be just friends . . . For now. "Then what's stopping you, Kalvor?" she asked with a smirk. She tapped his shoulder with a manicured finger. |

Rodrigo beamed when he finally saw June and Abe heading his way. And then when June sat next to him, Rodrigo's worries from the moment before seemed so far away. As June leaned toward Rod and spoke something to him, Rodrigo smiled and nodded. June and Abe were so sweet together, he couldn't believe at the beginning of the year he was so against Abe. It was just stupid. And for no reason too! Well, other than hearsay, and of course, Halifax's reputation. And now, when Rodrigo saw June and Abe together, well he was a completely different person to how Rod first percieved. Which showed Rodrigo that he shouldn't jump to conclusions. Or how the old saying goes, 'Don't judge a book by it's cover', because there clearly was a lot more to Abe than met the eye. To everyone. It just took June to show Rodrigo that. And as ever, it made Rod grateful that he had her as a best friend. "I know what you mean, I'm just so curious what they're going to have to do." Rodrigo grinned, the tension sure was building. It was just so exciting. Sure, the excitement had died down quite a bit after the champions had been announced, and the tournament was all new to the students. But now, at least to him, it felt like the other schools had been at Hogwarts right back from his first year. And with the First Task about to start, well, Rod was even sure that those who pretended to not be interested, had at least some amount of excitement within them, no matter how small. She suddenly felt all her worries leave her mind as she strolled nearer the chatting students. Beth looked around and noticed a Gryffindor girl, Diana, as she later found out, watching the swaying forrest's trees. "A beautiful day for flying, isn't it?" said Beth, glancing up at the clear blue sky and sat down nearby. She decided to watch all the people around, which was something she got never tired of, and waited for the task to begin. |

Tristan raced down the lawns to the Forbidden Forest preying to Merlin that they hadn't started without him. How would it look if the Goblet took a chance on a fifteen year old wizard and he didn;t show up in time to compete? The whole time his legs were carrying him closer to the Champions tent his mind raced with equal speed, reliving all that he had just overheard. If ever there was a bad time to hear such incredible news it was now. He supposed it made perfect sense - the Ministry had to be sure the people supported it and so leaned on the Daily Prophet to be sure they reported them in a favourable light. But he couldn't dwell on the conversation now as he had arrived and it seemed the task had waited for him. "So....sorry....everyone! Got...caught....up!" he panted, trying to catch his breath and slow his heart rate down. He aimed his wand at his chest, "S...sedo," as he felt his heart rate immediately slow back to normal, his breathing joining it as a result. He took another deep breath and looked from face to face, Champion to Headmaster to Minsitry official, "Are we doing this?" Now he was here, facing this challenge head on, he felt ready. |
