Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

"Pity?" Sawyer asked in disbelief, "Don't try and kid yourself Maverick. You know you won't think twice about it when he gets dominanted. Would you really miss him?" Sawyer asked, throwing him a look. She knew full well that Maverick, who dreamed of joining the KoW wouldn't spare a second thought on the impending doom that Nightshade was to encounter. "But I agree. The Durmstang will probably crush him...and maybe curse him." Sawyer smiled, "One could only hope."

Meriadoc nodded solemnly as Cash showed loyalty to his school. "Very good, Morozov. You are, vithout a doubt, loyal to your school ov Durmstrang Institute. If this Beauxbatons girl vos chosen by the Goblet ov Fire," Meriadoc continued, "then she must have some sort ov skill. Othervise, she vould not have been selected. I find it odd, however, that this Nightshade boy vos chosen. Piotr will, ov course, be vinning this tournament." He shifted his body, turning his face to the sun, the warmth feeling invigorating against his skin.

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

Tinsley smiled at the familiar face of Julian, who was nearly always a good sight. "Precious seems to think she's better than us," sighed Tinsley simply. "I feel like a mother forced to drown her child. But it's sink or swim. And Precious...is definitley sinking."

Tinsley grinned widely, with no sympathy.

"I told her she was ugly on the inside," snickered Tinsley. "How...ironic." She looked through the crowd, stepping closer to Julian as the sweeping current of people grew closer towards her, making Tinsley feel antsy and anxious. Being this close to people was uncomfortable for her. Standing closer to Julian and leaning against him eased some of her tension.

Which reminded her. "Have you seen Ian? I was supposed to sit with him." Tins shrugged. "I'd figured we'd all sit together. You know, to celebrate the day Tristan Nightshade met his maker."

Mitchell, who by this time was rather bored by the whole tournament, had dawdled away the morning in the dungeons. But as time was wasting away, Mitchell finally managed to drag himself out of the castle, and toward where the large group was gathering, on the grounds.

He hovered on the edge of the mass for a short while, scanning the crowd with his eyes. They wove inbetween people, catching glimpses of faces and flashes of colour on robes, but most went unrecognised to Mitchell.

Eventually he spotted Sawyer talking to some boy - who he really couldn't remember the name of. And, despite that, Mitchell didn't care. So, as he made his way through the crowd toward them, shoving people out of his way as he went. Mitchell smirked to himself. The First Task was going to be interesting, to say the least. Minor amusement.

When he arrived at the side of the pair of Slytherin's, Mitchell nodded to them, and uttered a quick, "Hello", his eyes still darting around. Mitchell folded his arms across his chest and sighed, tapping his right foot on the ground. His head dropped down and Mitchell's eyes found themselves staring down at his black trainers, his hair fell over his face and Mitchell realised it was getting rather long. Not so he looked like an idiot, but nevertheless, it annoyed him. He flicked it out of his eyes and face. Mitchell returned his gaze to Sawyer and Maverick.

"What are we talking about then?"

June's eyes fixed at the slytherin, asking herself what his problem was. You did not just go and insult someone like that, it was awfully rude, and... How did these slytherin purebloods raise their children? All were seemingly rotten to the very core, and June didn't like thinking nasty thoughts about people she didn't know, but these people had little to no manners. And June wasn't just saying that because she wanted to feel better.

More suited for someone like you... It wasn't a direct slap in the face, but it hurt. It hurt bad. He was right, she was nothing but a bore, even though she might be sweet and cute and all that, she was and would always be someone that you didn't want to be seen with. Even though Abe perhaps did not seem to mind being seen with her, but then again they were more on the friend side than something more. At least she knew she wasn't some trophy-girl, but with him because he, in some weird way, actually liked her. Not wanting him to worry, June simply nodded to Abe when he turned to her, smiling a fake smile to tell that she was ok.

She kept silent while Abe handled the situation, avoiding to meet the slytherins eyes. The hufflepuff boy took it so unaffectedly, as if it really didn't matter, and perhaps it didn't, but June still felt like shit. First when Abe whispered to her, did a smile break across her face, instead of the wounded, hurt, soon-about-to-cry expression she had unsuccessfully tried to hide . Hearing the slytherin begin to talk like he had done nothing wrong, June suppressed the desire to walk up, slap him and rant. Even if he showed no respect for others, June was not going to sink down to his level. She was going to be the better person.

"Hm, oh, I can't remember really," stuttered the little blonde girl, fixing her yellow and black badge. Returning his smile, June decided to just ask him, "I have a faulty memory. What do you hope I was going to say?" Finding out what she had just said, June corrected herself, "You know, don't answer that. I'm not sure if I want to know the answer," she chuckled softly, June didn't really think he'd come with something too bad, but just in case... June just wanted to stay on the safe side.

Using the first subject that hit her mind, the words just fell out of her mouth, "Do you think that guy was raised under a rock or something? I mean, he talked like he was in Quicompoix' league, but has he looked himself in the mirror? He needs a attitude check" she frowned at herself for talking like that about someone, but right now, she needed it. To establish her idea that he was just a idiot, so his words did not cut straight into her heart like they were doing now.

Sixth Year, Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain

Rodrigo had been taking a slow stroll across the grounds for a large section of the morning, eventually he headed over to where the first task was going to start. When he arrived, the crowd was building up, so he approached the people with a slight spring in his step. His eyes were lit up, and looking as if they could sparkle. A happy smile was spread across Rodrigo's lips, and he felt elated.

He spotted June and Abe almost immediately, and bounced over to them. Sadly, when he reached the pair, they didn't seem to be sharing his good mood. Feeling this was a downer, Rodrigo poked June in the side of her stomach, and gave a friendly nod to Abe.

"What happened here?" he asked, his eyes flicking around, so Rod might have a small idea of what may have caused the upset. But he didn't and so Rodrigo quickly gave up on that idea. He sighed, and his smile became a lot more forced, than moments before. He frowned. Rodrigo found it strange how moods could change so quickly, just by approaching some people or saying a word.

He shrugged the thought off, and tried to stand still for a while. Rodrigo, however, couldn't quite manage it, and so sort of bounced lightly on the spot. And eventually, Rodrigo felt the tug of a grin on the corners of his mouth, and gave into it. Oh, how even smiling could just make one feel better.

His eyes flickered over June and Abe, and a thought struck him. "Are all the champions here yet?" he asked. Rodrigo could see the Beauxbatons' and was sure he had passed the Durmstrang on his way over to his fellow 'Puff's, but of the Hogwarts, he was unsure. It certainly gave a bad impression to the guest schools if Nightshade was late.

But of course, there was also the possibility that Rodrigo had missed him. Which was why he questioned it to his peers. Rodrigo chuckled to himself, even when the day was going to be mainly relaxed, Rodrigo couldn't help but let his mind wander and question away.

Precious was lost into her thoughts when Cole came behind her and slipped her hand into Precious'. When she whispered, 'Don't cry.' Precious immediately forgot anything bad that had happened between the two. And yet, Precious was still angry at the fact that it was Cole's fault that Tinsley had become this way. It was pathetic, really. And it was more pathetic that all Precious would do is cry about it. Get a hold of yourself, Precious. Precious thought. Precious thought about the fact that she could still be Tinsley's friend if she tried. But Tinsley was so not worth it. So why should Precious bother?

Precious decided to walk away from the spot, and made her way through the crowd. She was about to approach Mike, but then Mitchell Kalvor caught her eye. She could use him as her back up right now. He was by Maverick and Sawyer. Maverick was just another party pooper, and Sawyer was growing on Precious. Maybe she would be Precious' next best friend. Maybe.

Precious placed a hand on Mitchell's shoulder. "Mitchell! There you are! I've been looking for you. Where have you been?" Precious asked. He was a boy that was dark, and extremely good looking. When she was done with Dave, he was bound to be next.

"I knew it," Avery said, shaking her head. "Not a drop of school spirit in you," she teased. She grinned as Bex said he was rooting for Tristan, "There you are, loyalty," she said to Bex, smirking at Mike.

Avery glanced at Bex's smile, seeing that it didn't quite extend to his eyes. Ever the optimist, Avery nudged him, "Perk up, the Tournament's about to start," she said, wondering what on earth could get someone down on such a momentus occasion. Well, she supposed her mother's joining the ministry... No, she wouldn't think about that. Not now, anyway. She thought back to the task. "At least, I hope it's starting soon," she said, swaying back and forth, looking between the heads of the antsy first years to where the Champions were standing. Where was Tristan?

Mitchell casually turned around as Precious placed a hand on his shoulder, and spoke to him. "Oh, hey, Precious" he smiled at her. "Me? Oh i've been a bit here and there, really." he smirked, and Mitchell's eyes glinted. "Looking for me?" he questioned. "Did you need anything in particular?" Mitchell asked, a sly smile growing on his lips. He just couldn't help it, a million thoughts were racing through his mind.

If Precious did need Mitchell for something - well anything, well Mitchell would be more than happy to oblige, even though he had just approached Sawyer and the other boy. There was no doubting that Precious was hot , and she had a personality too. But it wasn't so much that Mitchell felt he couldn't approach her. In fact, it was quite the contrary. To Mitchell, Precious seemed intriguing, and he liked that about her.

Mitchell pushed those thoughts that had crept into his mind away, and blinked a few times. "Haven't seen you in a while, though Precious. How have you been?" he asked.

IC:

"Of course I was looking for you. Why would I even bother to come over here then?" Precious asked, squeezing his shoulder. She removed her gloved hand and placed it in her coat pocket. She could feel her attitude coming back. "Well, you know. The usual. I'm going to need you in my room, pronto. For about an hour." she said with a smirk. "I'm joking." Precious said moments after. She would like to have alone time (not in any sexual way) with Mitch, but she still had a boyfriend. Duh.

"It's been ages since I've seen you," Precious said, biting her bottom lip. The last time she saw him was when she met him at the train station. At least that's what she could remember. "I've been, oh you know, the usual. Being at the top isn't easy, but I've put up a fight." she said with a sneer. Precious was at the top. Tinsley was not.

Mitchell chuckled and smirked. "It's been a while, yes." he agreed. It would be nice to catch up with Precious, he hadn't spoken to her for what felt like a long time. The year had whizzed by, and Mitchell just couldn't catch up. To him, it still felt like he was standing back on the platform at the start of Fifth Year.

Oh, how things had changed since then. He snorted and muttered, mainly to himself, "The top, eh." It was funny how Precious and Mitchell seemed almost in a completely different world to each other. As she so described, she was at "the top" and Mitchell... Not so much. But then they were talking normally, like people. Mitchell just slotted in where necessary.

And when he thought about it, that's the way Mitchell liked it. He liked being able to talk to different people, and wander around without being tied down. He could, if he so wanted, talk to others outside Slytherin, like Kayden (he guessed she did since that time a while back where she met with that Ravenclaw bloke.)

Mitchell shook his head. He wouldn't ever think anything like that again. Outside of Slytherin House?! It just wasn't him. He couldn't comprehend being friends with any of them. And if it went further than friends, well that thought just sickened him. Especially as he seemed to not get along with most of them. Like Margo, she and Mitchell would never like each other.

"Yes, the top. The Elite. You're ... familiar with them, yes? Or must I enlighten you?" Precious asked. She bit her bottom lip. It consisted of Precious, Julian, Tinsley, Cole, Sawyer, Constanta, and . . . well there wasn't really more boys. Dave just wasn't cruel enough. And Precious didn't know Mitchell enough to welcome him in. "Come on, let's get away from here. I'm feeling a bit . . . claustrophobic." she said, fanning herself. She reached out and grabbed his arm. (OOC: With permission from Mitch.) Precious led the two outside of the crowd. They were still visible to the crowd, but the crowd couldn't hear the two if they yelled.

"So, I'd like to get to know you more. Tell me about you." she said with mild interest. Never had she asked anyone that before. She figured it would be better to get to know him now than later.

"Ow, Roddie," winced a pained June, before she beamed towards her good ol' friend. It was not the italian boys fault, he didn't know that June had been driving her nails into it, causing it to become red and sore. Jumping up onto her tiptoes to give her friend a hug, June told him what had just happened, "It was only this really rude guy, nothing big," except for a blow at her already low self-esteem, but that wasn't of any interest. Besides, if June started to think about it, she'd just break into tears, and feel like absolute crap once more. Letting go of her friend, the hufflepuff turned to grin at Halifax.

Distracted momentarily by the way the light played in Abe's short hair, June turned to answer her friend, "Erh, I haven't seen Nightshade yet, but..." She craned her neck to get a good look, standing on the balls of her toes, still not seeing much, "Oh, but Poitr and Quicompoix are down there," June couldn't help but look at Poitr, admiring his good looks, but she had to admit it, Abe was a lot hotter. Commenting on the lack of a ravenclaw among the three, she turned to the two boys, "do you think Tristan chickened out? I hope he hasn't, but..." June licked her lips, searching for signs of emotion in both of their faces, "I wouldn't blame him if he did..." admitted the blonde girl, allowing herself to drop down to the ground again. June began to swing her arms back and forth, trying to figure out something to talk about that would not lead to embarrassing moments, whilst her eyes flickered between her best friends soft, warm features and Abe Halifax's rough, yet nonchalant looks. Her tounge clicked against the roof of her mouth, and June desperatly hoped that no awkward situation would occur. She really did not need a embarrassing silence, or...

"Perhaps we should get some seats, a lot of people are gathering now," June looked at Rodrigo, her blue, big eyes begging him to come up with something they could talk about. At least there was one positive thing, the two she'd be sitting next to, were not someone she'd dread being squished beside. Looking around in the crowd, June tried not to throw up when she watched a young gryffindor spit on the ground, before wiping it away with his foot. Ugh... What a disgusting little boy. She quickly looked away, her eyes setting on Kalvor getting pulled away by Precious Hindert. Did the vile, cruell bitches have to suck out the decency of every single slytherin? And did June really have to annoy herself over trivial things when she was with the two most important people of her teenage life right now?

Smiling apologetically to both of them, she hoped that one would soon come up with something to talk about, or else they'd end up just staring into thin air, and that was not something June really felt like doing.

"Yes, I'm familiar with... them." he uttered the last word with a hint of disgust in his voice. Mitchell managed a quick, "Bye," and a smile to Sawyer and Maverick as he was pulled away. He caught stride with Precious pretty easily, and soon they were out of the crowd. He felt the wind on his face, and was wholeheartedly glad he was away from the mass of people. All the bodies and such made the area cramped and stuffy.

"So, I'd like to get to know you more. Tell me about you." Mitchell frowned, and contemplated for a moment. What was there to tell?

"I live in this random place, in the middle of nowhere when I'm not at school." he shrugged and gave a small smile. "It's pretty nice - for my parents' taste anyway, it isn't what you'd call modern, but I like it anyway. he winced at what he was saying. "Am I boring you yet?" Mitchell asked, with a smug smile playing at the corners of his lips.

"If I remember correctly, you were the one which screamed at that Hufflepuff scum on the platform, earlier on this year, correct? Well, just for the information, I'm pureblood, as any good Slytherin would be" he smirked, and rubbed his eyes.

"Oh, what else?" he chewed his lip, and looked at Precious, with an uneasy look on his face. "I have a brother and a sister," he said. "They can both be pains at the best of times, but eh, that's family's for you." Mitchell was a lot more uncomfortable speaking about himself than most people would have imagined. He didn't want to go into too much detail, but likewise not enough would made him seem plain and boring.

"Enough about me, anyway. You can learn more a bit later. What about you, Precious? Tell me about yourself."

Violet Slayer
Fifth Year

Violet was having one of her less...reassuring days, all things considered. She'd managed to keep a smile on her face, and was confident that things would stay that way for the entire day--fake smiles, fake laughs, fake everything. Vi scanned the crowd, with no sign of the mysterious boy she'd ran into in the corridors. Her one hope, her one reassurance to continue writing, had vanished. And now, with the Prophet on everyone's minds--well, anyone in their right mind, as Violet certainly was, would be frightened of the future. It was daunting to think about.

Especially since Violet knew damn well her family was not as innocent as they claimed to be.

That was more frustrating than anything. She'd grown to love her parents, as they were hers. She hadn't talked to her adoptive parents, unsuspecting Muggles who resided in London, in quite some time. Occasionally, she sent her step-sister Taylor gifts. Violet still felt as though she was a big sister, with a happy Muggle family to look after her. Every holiday, it now felt strange, and sad to arrive not at her conservative, middle-class home, but to the Slayer Manor--a creepy, dark, glum place to grow up, with secrets in the walls, cobwebs in the corners, and people with unfamiliar faces.

Feeling very alone in her thoughts, Violet brushed past Tinsley Carmicheal, and Julian Kahn.

Instinct told Violet to run in the opposite direction, but Violet was now considered some kind of family to Tinsley. The Slayers and Carmicheals had been been close for centuries, and Tinsley was not one to go against what her family thought was best--at least, that was what Violet thought.

"Sorry," said Violet quickly, as she'd bumped into Julian. She smiled sheepishly. "Hey, Tinsley." Violet blinked, wondering if being Kayden Slayer's sister made any difference to the Slytherins. She was still a Gryffindor, no matter what.

As though she had just realized that, Violet scampered off to find a seat, on her own.

"Me? Oh, kind of you to ask.' Precious said with a fake smile. She ran a gloved hand through the back of her ponytail. "I live in the East Hamptons, in New York. I don't have any-I mean, I have one sister. Melanie Wilson. She's in Slytherin as well, our year and our age." Precious explained. She had completely forgotten about Melanie. They hadn't spoken to each other since . . . Summer vacation. It had been quiet a while, and Melanie wasn't anything special anyway. She was just another Ella Collins, another blood traitor. And Melanie's brother (Who was from Precious' step father since they had different fathers) was annoying. Times 10. Precious was always going insane when he was around. Thankfully, he had learned to shut up the past year or Precious would have done something drastic.

"I have two cousins that go here too. Lucy and Lily Hindert." Precious said, biting her bottom lip. She hadn't spoken to Lucy or Lily since the summer as well. "And I'm the most popular girl in Hogwarts. But you already know that already." she said with a smile. And it was real. "You probably know this already, but I'm in a relationship with Dave McKelevey. But don't let that stop you from trying to impress me." Precious said with a wink.

"Anything else?" Precious asked.

It really looked as if lateness had consequences sometimes, Thielen had tried to get into the habit of wearing a muggle watch, but they always broke, or he always lost them, and magic didn't help much with that. He was forgetful, and always forgot to use certain charms to make sure he was there on time. It seemed as though everyone was pretty much gathered in the Forbidden Forest already, and as usual, Thielen was a latecomer.

Since Thielen didn't know many people, being holed up in the library all the time and all, he vied for a seat at the edge...so if and when it got boring, he'd have the option of leaving. He was never really conscious of the limp in his foot, he'd grown up with it, after all, but it was certainly a pain to live with whenever people were around. He bumped past a couple of people to get to a seat.

Once settled, he pulled out his monocle and put it on his left eye, that was the eye that was horribly nearsighted, the right eye not so much. This done, he waited, watching people milling around for seats. People were also fascinating. He'd taken that trait from his dad, but Thielen was pretty glad that he stopped short of obsession.

And suddenly, those thoughts concerning his problem became just another thought that swirled around in his head endlessly--a cacophony of unhappy memories and crushing apprehensions, along with the a sense of weighty, and reluctant, purpose. It was getting to the point where he couldn't focus on a single idea for more than a fleeting second, and yet he couldn't stop himself from going from one fleeting thought to another. All of it threatened to smother him, to bury him under a mountain of his own insecurity and his uncertainty over what he felt he had to do.

"Looking for Tinsley?"

It was like coming up for air after almost drowning. Suddenly, the building anxiety lifted. And Ian found himself face-to-face with an attractive blond, who had just spoken to him.

"I don't know where she went," the blond around one more time before turning back to him, "I'm Cole, by the way."

"Oh," said Ian, glad for the distraction, and perhaps gladder for the fact that it had come in such an attractive package. "I'm Ian. You're Tinsley's friend, right?" Ian extended his hand. Though he did it with an air of confidence, Ian wasn't quite as charming as all the girls seemed to think Julian was. Ian didn't have the confidence to do something like bow or kiss a hand or whatever Julian or Alphonse would do.

He didn't feel the need to announce his surname. Everyone knew it already. In any case, Ian was just glad that the Prophet had skipped the part where his step-brother and sister-in-law dawned their masks and started wreaking havoc on the Ministry, though it probably would have scored him some points with the other Slytherins.

"Unfortunately no. Haven't seen him." His eyes lingered on Tinsley a moment longer than necessary, his mind ticking over the possibilities that perhaps she was developing feelings for his friend. But he dismissed it as fanciful, reminding himself that this was Tinsley Carmichael, a girl who needed a real man and not a....nancy boy. Julian respected Ian, not the least because of his family, but there was no denying he was a bit...stiff sometimes. He was 15 going on fifty. People like that had their uses to be sure but for the most part it was not the sort of man a girl like Tinsley wanted...or needed.

"So about Sawyer," He leaned in close to speak into her ear, "You really don't like her? Does she need...some payback?" He was attracted to Sawyer but his loyalty lay with the pretty blonde standing beside him.

Bex grinned, a true smile this time. Something about her just cheered him up. He, too, glanced around looking for Tristan. It struck him as odd that he was so late, but then again, he probably had a lot on his mind. It seemed like it would be easy to lose track of time in such a position.

"Right. Well if it doesn't start soon, I say we bail and do something more fun. I'm sure someone else could tell us about it. Speaking of which, where's Cosette?"

His mind flashed to his one other friend and his heart skipped a beat. Though he was definitely attracted to Avery, there was something about Cosette that intrigued him as well. What a spot to be in.
