Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

"Precious Hindert, you are one disgusting excuse for a human being, and you're so rude, everything that you say only detracts from your beauty," smiled Tinsley. It was a cruel smile--a true simle. "because yes. You are a beautiful girl. But on the inside, you're ugly."

"And I liked you better with bubblegum hair," snapped Tinsley.

She walked away from the group, stuck her hands in the pockets of her black coat, and looked around for Julian, Ian, Constanta, or someone worth her time. Tinsley sighed. She hated losing friends, but...well. It happened from time to time. Some people were expendable.

Where's Ian?

Tinsley pinched herself mentally again, standing alone. She shuffled her feet. Why did she even care!?

Mike rose an eyebrow as another girl had spoke up. He hadn't seen her hanging around the little clique that the Slytherin witches had going on. He watched silently as Tinsley had came, and then drama started to unfold. He chuckled. So this was the fabulous life of the Slytherins? He would rather be expelled from Hogwarts then go through this. He flinched as Avery appeared beside him, tugging on his arm. "Hold on, I wanna see how this ends." Mike said. He froze up as Precious spoke to him. "Erm . . . yes, in fact, she is my girlfriend. And she's not little. She's the same age as us." Mike said, placing an arm around Avery. He couldn't believe he just did that.

The two Ravenclaws walked away, and Avery lead them to where she was with James. "Hey James." Mike said. He barely knew him. Then, Mike realized he still had his arm over Avery. He blushed as he removed it. "Sorry about that. I was just trying to get Precious to shut up. She never does, you know?"

"Tinsley, what are you saying? You're so much worse then me. But I guess we're both equally ugly inside." Precious said, her voice shaking. What happened to the other Tinsley? The one that had cried with Precious when both their mothers died. The one that picked on the first years with Precious. "The pink is gone, Tinsley." Just like our friendship. Tinsley Carmichael and Precious Hindert had had quite a history together. And now it was just nothing. It was all Cole Abott's fault.

Precious wouldn't mind going back to pink hair-if only Tinsley would be less bitchier to her best friend. It was too late. And just when Precious thought everything had gone wrong, she felt a warm tear going down her cheek. She turned away from Cole so Cole wouldn't bitch about Precious being a cry baby and what not. Precious wiped the tear with her gloved hand. She was badly in need of her boyfriend right now. Hell, she didn't mind if Mike hugged her and assured her that everything was ok. He was her rebound after all. She shoved her hands into her coat pocket and stared onto the floor.

Avery's eyes widened as Mike's arm was suddenly draped around her and he was telling them she was his girlfriend. Woah. What?! Her head was spinning. "So first you're doting after Beauxbatons and now I'm your girlfriend?" she asked as they were walking away, raising an eyebrow. All was soon explained though and she nodded. "Well, sure, but that wasn't strictly necessary..." she said, although she was half-smiling.

She turned to face Bex then was suddenly very conscious of Mike's arm still wrapped around her. She cleared her throat, but Mike seemed to be thinking along the same lines as her, and dropped his arm, red in the face. "Erm, this is Mike. Bex, Mike... Mike, Bex..." she introduced gesturing from one to the other, grinning sheepishly. For some reason it felt odd to be talking to Mike and Bex at once. She sat down next to Bex, motioning for Mike to sit next to her. "So what was that all about?" she asked Mike, gesturing to the seemingly still ongoing cat fight.

After having a shower, Ian finally left the damp of the dungeons for the fresh air of the grounds. It was good that there was the First Task about to start. Unlike in the the Slytherin common room, no one was staring at him.

He was wearing silk robes. Just plain black ones, but of expensive quality. He had been raised to despise muggle clothing on principle, and even though he did sometimes appreciate the comfort of their often simple design, he had very few articles of anything that wasn't robes.

One thing that was annoying him, though, was his hair. It was growing more and more untidy since he had cut it short. In a way, he thought it looked cool, as if he'd just gotten off his broom after a quidditch match, but he felt somehow self-conscious without his hair as long as it had been.

He looked around for TInsley. She said she'd wait for him, but Ian couldn't seem to spot her in the crowd. He was looking for those long red locks he would just have to get used to, he supposed. The sad truth was, though, Tinsley seemed to help keep Ian sane--keeping his mind off all those other things flying around in his head. He probably needed her a lot more than she needed him--and a lot more than he'd ever admit. Because of that, she could probably get on well enough without him, but meanwhile Ian was scanning the crowd more and more frantically.

Co-dependency. Such a lousy term, but it probably described Ian quite well. First it was Anton, who Ian hated--or wanted to hate. Then it was Ian's family image he had clung to for self-confidence. Then it was Julian and all his charm and with and confidence that Ian was drawn to, so that some of it might rub off on him. Even Aunt Julia became someone who Ian felt as though he needed to keep from falling apart, with her wise words and constant goading of him to fix his past mistakes. And now, Tinsley seemed to have taken Julia's place, though with her it was more the escape he found in her and her problems. It was pathetic, really.

Perhaps those people whispering behind their backs had a point. Maybe the things happening to him weren't because he was mad, but he had a problem all the same. One no one recognized, because the air of confidence and superiority he exuded--even now, as his insides began to erupt in turmoil at the mere idea of being alone with his own thoughts any longer.

I can't be trusted alone. With my mind left to wander, it goes to dark places, and the longer it remains there, the less likely it seems that it might return.

And still, he remained, on the outside, the epiphany of Slytherin superiority, though his mind was somewhere else entirely, now, and he'd even ceased looking for Tinsley. His eyes only appeared to scan the crowd, seeing nothing.

"Hi, erm. . . Bex." Mike said, slowly. He crossed his arms across his chest. "Uhm, I really don't know to be honest. Something about Precious not having manners and needed to go wax her back. And then something that Cole had a certain body part like mine, then something that Precious was very ugly inside and Tinsley liked her pink hair better." Mike explained. It was really interesting to watch. "But enough about them. Too many people talk about them a lot. Who are you guys rooting for?" he asked, rubbing his hands together.

crazy bitch

She stared up--only a little--at Precious. Was she crying? Really? Something about this irritated her, but at the same time, she could see why the girl was upset. Clearly, Cole had entered into a world that had long been private. But she was meant to bust into it. It was her world, too, now, and Precious would have to learn to share. For a long while after this day, she would second guess her next action. Cole reached and very gently slipped her hand into Precious'. Her voice was so quiet it was barely audible.

"Don't cry."

With that she dropped the other girl's hand and turned sharply on her heel. It was so unlike her to show any bit of human emotion other than hate an apathy, which could barely be considered emotions. She had half a mind to follow Tinsley, but the crowd sort of gobbled her up before she could find her.

She made her way around the outskirts of the crowd and her eyes rested on Ian du Ponte de Lac. She had seen him with Tinsley before and knew who he was, but they had never spoken, despite them being in the same house. She made her way cautiously over to him, trying to recapture her usual attitude. But her tender moment with Precious had made her feel very peculiar indeed.

Finally she was standing in fron of Ian. She looked him over for a moment before giving him a weak smile.

"Looking for Tinsley? I don't know where she went," she glanced around one more time before turning back to him, "I'm Cole, by the way."

"Tristan, of course!" she said with a grin. "Although, I can't speak for you, you're probably hoping Miss I'm-So-Pretty wins..." she said, elbowing Mike with a smirk. She glanced over at the Beauxbatons Champion. She was in fact pretty, with a sort of glowing charm eminating off of her. Heck, even a few third years were drooling all around her. Gag.

Avery contented herself by crossing and uncrossing her legs, anxious for the task to start. She never claimed to be the most patient of all people.

Before he even knew what was happening Avery was gone. He watched her walk over to a group of Slytherin girls who appeared to be very close to killing eachother. He watched the fight unfold as he sat down, but he was disinterested. He had nothing against Slytherins, but most of the girls were just downright awful.

He snapped out of his thoughts when Avery returned with the boy from the fight, Mike. He nodded with a smile at the introduction and smiled a little more when Avery sat next to him. He distantly heard Mike ask who they were rooting for.

"I'm rooting for Tristan, of course, but it's hard to tell. I know Piotr...he has a very good chance at winning. I do hope we win, though. Yourself?"

He glanced over at Avery, glad she was back to keep him company. He gave her a little smile, a trace of sadness in his eyes as he wondered if she was dating Mike. He did have his arm around her. He brushed it off and focused his attention back on the conversation at hand.

"You're right about that!" Mike said with a grin. He thought a girl could beat two boys - especially if she was like the B3. The Bitchy Three is what Mike decided to call the group that consisted of Precious Hindert, Tinsley Carmichael, and Cole Abott. No way would Tristan and Piotr last a second if she was just another witch. "Mariane, pretty much." he said to James.

OOC: Sorry for such a fail post. I've been posting all day and I was brain dead by 8 p.m. Also, this might be the last post of the day, so try not to interact with Mike much. Sorry Avery.

Abe rolled his eyes, his jaw tensing slightly as he was bumped. His gaze slowly turned to see a Slytherin. Little did the snake know whom the Beauxbaton's champion had been interested in when she had arrived. True, it had been awhile since they had talked last, but Abe was confident he'd left a distinct impression. He always did. "Ouch, that really hurt." He said flatly, glancing to June quickly. More suited for someone like you? Ha. June was one of the sweetest people he had met at Hogwarts. They were friends. Sure they had had a brief spell of ... friends with benefits, but Abe and June were always friends first. For now, until she could grow a stronger backbone.

"You're a real riot," Abe continued in a drawed out voice. This Slytherin had no idea who he was. Who he was with. Or who he had been with. The list was endless, and it included a few well known snakes as well. Kayden Slayer - check. Tinsley Charmicheal - well...half a check. Besides, Abe had no intention of pursuing Mariane - he had Emma. "You think that's an insult? Being called a Hufflepuff?" Abe asked in a jeering tone, looking amused as he did so.

The Halifax families blood was pure. Many had been Slytherins, like the git whom Abe was talking to, but there had been others in different houses as well. Abe didn't think to much about his Hufflepuff pride, houses mattered little to him -- or the girls he chased. "Why don't you just go and crawl back into the whole you came from?" He suggested lazily, sighing lightly. This guy thought he could get under Abe's skin? Good luck with that.

Shoot June a sly smile, Abe shook his head. "I said I'd sit with you, so I'm going to keep my word." He promised in a low voice so that only she could hear what he was saying as he bent towards June's ear. Straightening, he smirked at the snake. "Run along," He said in a bored tone, stuffing his hands in his pockets and staring at the boy with zero interest.

Julian joined his housemates with his usual smug expression, confident he was going to witness the humiliation of Nightshade. Still the task didn't look set to start just yet so for now he was content to focus on other matters, like the continuing fued between the Slytherin girls. Tinsley would always have his wand in her corner but there was no denying his interest in Sawyer, a girl as hot as she.

"What's the argument over this time then, Tins?" He cast his eyes over the amassing crowd, trying to pick out any recognizable faces, before returning his eyes to Carmichael.

Addie entered the area, gazing around curiously. It seemed that the first task would take place in the Forbidden Forest. It was dangerous... But Tristan had been inside before, where as the other champions had not. Maybe he already had a slight advantage?

Speaking of Tristan, where was he? She could see everyone else gathering, but no sign of the boy yet. Addie hoped he was alright, she knew he was nervous... The image of Tristan bent over a toilet seat came to her unbidden. No, definitely not. She scowled faintly, shaking her head, though worry continued to claw at her.

The task hadn't even started and she was sick with worry, how would she survive at this rate? Addie frowned, pondering this while looking for a good seat.

As the Hufflepuff began to blather out a retort that was more cliche than his hairstyle, Horacio found his attention drifting away momentarily as he heard the slight sounds of bickering from another direction. His gaze slanting sideways toward the source, he saw the 3 Slytherin girls that were causing the ruckus. He rolled his eyes inwardly....what had ever happened to house pride? Slytherins bickering with other Slytherins, when there were Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs around? Slytherins weren't supposed to bicker with each other...that's why they were superior. Seeing some of his classmates, Horacio could swear that the hat had been confunded when sorting them.

Slowly, he brought his attention back to the Hufflepuff in time to hear him direct a (no doubt rhetorical) question to Horacio.

"You think that's an insult? Being called a Hufflepuff?"

Horacio arched an eyebrow, keeping his expression completely and utterly casual as he replied.

'I'm sorry....when did I ever imply, Hufflepuff, that it was meant to be an insult...I'm sorry, am I mistaken? Are you not a Hufflepuff?'

It was all Horacio could do to stifle the full spread grin that threatened to cross his features as the Hufflepuff continued speaking. Complete and utter entertainment. He cut in as the Hufflepuff told him to 'crawl into a hole'.

'My oh my...aren't we a crass one Hufflepuff. Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't believe I ever actually insulted you, persay, in this meeting, and yet, here you are, being rather rude. Not very nice, not very nice at all.'

Making several tsking noises. he smirked at the obvious nonchalanct bravado the Hufflepuff was evidently attempting to display. And yet...if he really was so nonchalant...he wouldn't have bothered replying in the first place. What a riot.

'Be nice now Hufflepuff...honestly, with the world as it is nowadays, you really just can't go around every corner assuming that someone or the other is out to get you....'

A long, drawn out stroke of his ferret's back and a lazy wink later, Horacio yawned with emphasis, before turning his back on the Hufflepuff. That was enough entertainment to last him until the First Task, no doubt. Manipulation....it really was a wonderful thing, especially when the targets react in such predictable ways.

Abe rolled his eyes at Horacio, seemingly nonpulsed by his words. "Be nice? Sure, yeah I'll get right on that," He said sarcastically, as the Slytherin turned. Abe looked back to June. The crowd had grown into a massive cluster of students, Abe wondered how long it would take until the First Task would start, perhaps then Horaico would close his mouth. Abe had a distinct impression that the snake was talking to only hear his own voice. "So June, what we're you saying before we were rudely interupted?" Abe pondered, smiling widely at his housemate.

Maverick nodded. "I understand, Sawyer," he replied to her remark about leaving if the Task did not start soon. Maverick took note that the Durmstrang Champion had already arrived at the scene, so Nightshade was the only one they were waiting on. "I cannot possibly see what the Goblet saw in choosing these Champions. One's an incompetent moron, Nightshade of course; one's a girl who would sooner die than give up her wardrobe, no doubt; and the last one looks a bit thick, that Durmstrang fellow." Maverick obviously thought that he would have made a much better Hogwarts Champion than Tristan Nightshade, even though he did hold a prestigious amount of awards at the school. Ravenclaw Prefect, Quidditch Captain, though Maverick thought he was quite big-headed over his Captaincy and his being a Prefect.

"Yes, I think I will leave soon as well, if that idiot does not turn up soon," he remarked, his eyes still scanning the field for the slightest hint of the boy. Maverick and Sawyer's arms were still interlocked, though neither of them showed any sign of wishing to break the bond. It was quite peaceful, Maverick thought.

Meriadoc's head turned as Cash Morozov joined him. Demitrov had walked away, much to Meriadoc's pleasure. He had found the boy quite a bore, as he did not seem to know when to stop talking. "Vy, good day, Morozov," Meriadoc greeted him. "This Hogvarts Champion seems to be a bit -- vot is the vord? -- unqualified. He is, after all, a mere Fifth Year." Meriadoc's eyes found his way to the edge of the forest, where the Champions congregated. There he saw Piotr Rasputin. "Good, Piotr had arrived. Now, vair is that Nightshade fellow? The Hogvarts Champion," Meriadoc added, as Cash may not have known the name of the Hogwarts Champion.

Meriadoc continued to glance around the grounds, waiting for the Hogwarts Champion. He should be here by now," Meriadoc told himself. Anxious though he was for the Task to start, he couldn't help but feel that there were more important things to do at the current moment. However, Meriadoc dismissed this thought and turned to Cash. "So, Morozov, vot do you think ov these two other Champions? Ov Beauxbatons and Hogvarts? Vould you say they vere any good?"

Sawyer nodded in agreement, "Nightshade is a prat. The Beauxbaton's is...well French for goodness sake, and that Durmstrang...well," Sawyer paused, appraising the Durmstrang slightly. He did look a bit thick, but he was older, far more talented, and a little dangerous looking. Sawyer wasn't sure what to make of him. "Either way, the only way this tournament is going to be eventful is on account of Nightshade failing. Miserably." She said, for what felt like the hundredth time.

Sawyer felt a pang of pity for the Ravenclaw, but it passed as quickly as it came. He was the underdog, so naturally one would feel sympathy for him. But Sawyer had none. And it wasn't because he was a Ravenclaw. Sawyer felt that anyone thick enough to put their name in the Goblet was digging their own grave. "You know, I don't think it would've mattered who Hogwarts chose...you know? I mean, it's not like anyone's going to agree on who would make a better champion..." Sawyer said thoughtfully, her eyes lingering on Piotr.

Cash nodded to Meriadoc, glancing towars Piotr. "The other champions..." Cash started, a cynical smile creeping onto his face, "Forgive me for being so bold, but they do not stand a chance." Cash said with confidence. It was his duty to root for Piotr, even if he thought he would make a better champion. There was no use in thinking of what he would do in Piotr's place because the champions were chosen and there was no reversing it. "Perhaps I am blind by my patriotism..." He added with a shrug.

"The girl though, she is very...good looking? Yes. But hardly suitable to be champion. So frail. Vy pick a vomen for a man's job?" Cash tore his eyes away from Mariane. She was begining to make him feeling as though his hopes in Durmstrang winning were quite unjust and that it was in fact she who he should be rooting for.

"Of course, that is what we are all hoping for, is it not? That Nightshade is mangled, is what I was referring to," Maverick answered. His eyes fell upon Piotr Rasputin and Mariane Quicompoix. "I believe, given the competitors, that the Durmstrang boy will win. After all, if it is a matter of eliminating competition, he will reign supreme. Durmstrang students are thought to be trained in the Dark Arts, are they not? I would like to see what they study there," he said, smirking. "And anyways, if Piotr comes across Nightshade in the heat of the Task, maybe he will curse him for us." Maverick smiled deviously, though he did feel a bit sorry for Nightshade. After all, he had basically sentenced himself to death for putting his name in the Goblet. It constituted a binding, magical contract. The name the Goblet chose was the one who had to compete, there was no getting around that. "Pity he won't be around next year, really," Maverick laughed.
