Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Addie grinned as Tristan threw his arms around her, squeezing him right back. She'd had faith in him, but she was a worrier by nature. As much as she believed in him, she'd been terrified the whole time he was in the forest.

"As soon as I heard you were heading the other way I knew what you were doing. You should have heard Em screaming though." Addie commented, laughing and nodding to the professor as he entered. The girl couldn't help blushing, smiling at Professor Aphelion as he mentioned that she would have done the same as Tristan. "Night Professor!" The girl smiled, watching him leave before turning her attention back to her boyfriend. "He's right, I would've done the same. You shouldn't question that Tris, it's one of the things I love about you." She grinned, before glancing over to Piotr, hearing him speak.

"Sorry! I'm interrupting something, aren't I? You're Piotr right? I'm Addie, it's nice to meet you." She commented, smiling sheepishly. She paused, watching Ella approach, smiling at the girl before turning back to Tristan thoughtfully. Well, it certainly seemed like they had something. If Ella liked him, then the Durmstrang Champion couldn't be bad.

"Ha, yeah. Surprising results. You wouldn't think Durmstrang would be last. I had my money on it being Nightshade." She raised her eyebrows at the outcome. She smiled, "We shall go get some Dinner! I really need to get out of this cold!"

She stood up, stretching her arms. "Ready to go?"

Funny how she had unexpectedly made a friend by lacking a seat. Life worked in unexpected ways. And with that Sierra and Mitchell exited the First Task.

Beth sat still for a long while, deep in thoughts. She would have loved to be one of the Champions but it certainly was no fun. Not that she was afraid of the creatures in forest, but she wasn't sure she could kill and innocent animal because of some competition. It wasn't a good enough reason for her.

After hearing Professor Aphelion's voice, saying the task is over, she bolted back to reality.
"Wow, that was really something," she exclaimed smiling at June and Rodrigo with glittering eyes full of excitement. She was so afraid that the Dumstrang or even Hogwarts champion might die that she almost stopped breathing. "So," she continued, "do you want to go for a dinner? I'm so hungry that I'd eat my scarf in a few minutes." Beth really was hungry, she thought she was going to be late for the task so she took one cookie for a breakfast and ran straight to the Grounds, staying here till now. She didn't have her watch with her but it seemed that the sun hadn't intended to stay up for much longer. She looked down at her hands and saw the tips of her fingers getting slightly blue too, she still wasn't cold though.

Kiki had already flown to the field and thrown herself onto her older sister with a happy grin on her face. Mariane tried desperately to shrug her off, but Kiki squeezed her even tighter.

"You did fabulously!" she trilled happily, draging her older sister towards Hogwarts. "I wish they (their parents) were here to see it--"

"Well they weren't, were they?" Mariane's sour question was more of a statement.

"No matter! You've just got to stay afloat during this next task, I'm sure Tristan won't mop the floor with you like he should have this first--"

"Katriane, I'm hearing a lot of this--" Mariane made a chatter motion with her hand, rapidly opening and closing her four fingers onto her thumb, "And I'd like to hear more of this."Mariane ceased the movement of her hand, her closed in a symbol of silence.

Kiki just took it in stride. Mariane was always cranky. "I'm just saying. You know I'm right. Now, how would you like a nice, hot, steamy bath in the Prefect's bathroom. You're starting to smell." Kiki said, picking out a few leaves that had nestled their way into her hair.

Mariane glared at her. "I'll just go to the Beauxbaton's carriage. I'm not sure too many of the Hogwartians are happy with me at the moment. I doubt they'd want me using their bath."

"Nonsense!" Katriane trilled as she linked her arm with her sister's. "I'd write up the first person who hexes you, or gives you some bubotuber pus, that's what sisters are for!"

"Oh, alright." Mariane snapped her fingers, and two 5th year Beauxbaton's immediately ran forward. "Fetch me an outfit to dine in, please and bring it to the bath." she instructed, in French.

"--Fifth floor" Kiki interjected.

Mari dismissed them with a wave of her hand and the went onward toward the castle.

"That was brilliant, thinking of lovage--" Kiki started.

"I'm quite adept at herbology and potions, but you'd know that if you weren't in this refridgerator of a place most of the year." Mariane said back, as the two girls disappeared toward the castle.

Ida had watched the task some way away from everyone else, taking it in in silence. This was the first time she'd been seen off the ship since her pride had been hurt at the feast, but she'd moved on. If she couldn't be champion, what was the harm of getting some champion arm candy?

As soon as the Task was finished, however, and Piotr had come out safely, Ida gave him a standing ovation and squeals of delight. She was running off the seats, towards the forest itself to greet him, when she bumped into a person she didn't really want to meet.

Grunting, Ida shrugged Rodrigo off and continued on her way to Piotr, planning how she was going to congratulate him and hope he was okay, and generally make a fuss of him.

Precious had zoned out-well, not exactly. She was just watching what was going on with the First Task instead of paying attention to Mitch and Sierra. Yawn. They were boring her anyway. She was still a little afraid of Dave, as he hadn't said anything either. Which was actually rare. Normally, Precious wouldn't have been afraid of anything or anyone. Normally. The Slytherin was actually kind of happy that the First Task was over. Even though Mariane had won, it made Precious happy that at least Nightshade didn't win. Pity he didn't die though.

Precious bit her bottom lip as she let her blue eyes wander a bit more. Everyone was leaving to go to dinner. She didn't know what to say to Dave. Unsure of whether he was happy or not, she grabbed her bag and placed it on her forearm. "I'm er . . . Going to dinner. See you there?" she asked sweetly. Without waiting for his response, she turned on her heel and left the First Task.

Rodrigo sighed lightly as the First Task ended, and Beth spoke up from behind him. He turned around and flashed her a smile. "Sure, lets g--" Rodrigo cut himself off, because out of the corner of his eye he saw a Durmstrang student heading toward the medical tent. A Durmstrang student that looked a lot like Ida Voikin. "I'll see you two later!" Rodrigo beamed, and took off after the 'Strang.

After some time, Rodrigo's pace slowed. Around him was a sea of students, pushing him this way and that. He had lost Ida only a moment before, but was sure that she was around him somewhere. And in the midst of it all, Rodrigo realised he'd left his scarf with June. Chuckling under his breath at the random thought, Rod forgot all about Ida for a minute.

It was then that she bumped into him. Rodrigo's face changed from a look of surprise, to one of happiness, and then once he realised that Ida wasn't stopping, it passed his features just how confused he felt with the small interaction that had just happened.

When Rodrigo caught up to Ida again, with the medical tent not far from the pair of them, he stepped in front of her. "Hey?" he said, his tone making it sound more like a question rather than a greeting to one he had been hoping to see for the whole of the task. Rod was still wondering why she hadn't stopped, or even said hello. But more than that, Rodrigo felt hurt.

Her eyes, which had been fixed on the medical tent, refocused so she was staring into Rodrigo's face. "Hi." she said, not having time to deal with little boys. The nurse at Hogwarts was very quick and skillful.

When he didn't move out of her way, she cleared her throat pointedly, glaring him straight in the eyes. "I have things I need to do vight now, if you please," Ida was in a good mood. She was humouring him by stopping this long. "If there is something you need to say, say it quick, I don't have all day." She shifted her weight onto one foot and crossed her arms, and eyebrow raised in tolerent amusement.

"Ida?" Rodrigo exclaimed. He frowned, and looked at the girl with shock passing onto his features. "Is something... wrong?" he asked. Rod couldn't get why she was acting so strange. Since their first meeting at the Halloween dinner, they'd met up several times and had gotten along perfectly well then. Perhaps it was something to do with the task, or maybe it was something more? Well, either way Rodrigo still didn't get it.

Why didn't she want to see him? He, as much as it pained him to admit it, especially when she was acting like she was at that moment, loved her. Rodrigo really felt a connection between them.

Rod simply stood still, waiting for her response. He didn't know what to say anymore, what to think or what to feel.

For the whole of the task, Rod had been hoping to see her and apparantly, the feeling wasn't mutual. It struck him that Ida might've found out he wasn't rich, or a pureblood. She had seemed to think highly on those things. Cringing, Rod thought that might be it. She could have overheard him anywhere, doing anything, and he wouldn't have realised. All he could hope was that it wasn't the case.

For once in her life, Ida was stumped at Rodrigo's question. Ida felt something drop in her stomach. What was this boy playing at? Did he actually... care? She blinked away the thought, hoping he wouldn't cry if she didn't return his feelings.

"Vong? Nothing's vong, apart from the fact Piotr's injured. Vhy?" Ida felt the colour drain from her face, and pulled out a compact mirror. "Do I look like something's vong?"

No, she was perfect, as always. Ida snapped it shut and let the mirror fall back into her bag. In the short space of time the conversation had taken, Ida had felt things she'd thought she'd been born with immunity to. She bit her lip, pushing away the soft feelings for Rodrigo. It was his fault he'd let himself be pulled deeper than he'd bargained for. It was his fault.

Rodrigo simply looked at Ida, feeling dejected. "I guess not." he said, although he did feel that something was wrong. "But, you're acting..." Strange? Unusual? Weird? Rodrigo had a thousand words at his disposal, instead he chose none of them. Rod just let the sentence hang, wondering if Ida would suddenly perk up and they could go off to dinner together and all would be hunky dory.

Rodrigo shouldn't get his hopes up like that. They always seemed to come crashing down if he did. The fact that she had mentioned Piotr being injured made him think that maybe it was all to do with the task, and that Rodrigo should just meet up with her later, when she'd seen her fellow Durmstrang.

But he didn't want to let her go. It felt like she was slipping away from him, and Rod didn't want that. For a moment it had felt like they were really close, Rodrigo and Ida, but that was long gone. Or so it seemed.

"I'm acting vot?" Ida asked, biting back the words that came to her mind, that if she let them lose would formulate into an insult. She raised herself again, so she stood tall, and raised an eyebrow. Hoping this cool exterior would hide her dumbstruckness, she tried to formulate another sentence in her head that wouldn't come out like an insult.

"I really vould like to see Piotr, if you please..." Anything to get her out of the awkwardness of the situation! She took a small step to the right, seeing if he would still block her.

Rodrigo sucked in his breath as he watched Ida step to her right. Rodrigo was about to step in front of her again, but hesitated. He might aswell see how it ended out. "And you're sure it can't wait?" he asked her. Rodrigo didn't want her to go, because if she did, Rodrigo knew it would be over. Until she explicitly, Rod hoped that there was still something there. Even if it was tiny.

"We could always just go up to dinner, or hang about on the grounds." he suggested. Rodrigo really didn't want Ida to leave. He supposed that he would have no choice but leave for the castle if she did just go to see the Durmstrang Champion. But maybe all Ida wanted was a few suggestions.

"I want to spend time with you." Rod said quietly, pushing his right hand into a pocket.

Ida sighed, starting to get frustrated. "Of course it cannot vait!" She snapped without thinking. Reading Rodrigo's face as soon as she'd said it, Ida regretted the words coming out of her mouth, and tried to move on quickly.

"You go on up the dinner, I'll meet you up there when I'm finished." Ida was pleased with herself. Her father had always told her to compromise, and here she was, Durmstrang's finest.

Her breath, the only thing that hadn't been effected so far, caught in her throat at Rodrigo's quiet words. Ida, however, chose to ignore them, in favour of thinking up a reply.

Rodrigo shook his head. Although what Ida was saying seemed reasonable, Rodrigo still felt hurt. And besides, what boy wants to be second option? He sighed, and gritted his teeth. Rod really wasn't one for making snide remarks or acting mean, but sometimes he wished that he wasn't so nice and accepting to people all the time.

"Please?" he said, his voice now so quiet, even he doubted if Ida had heard him. Rodrigo didn't want her to go, to disappear off to Rasputin. But she had said it could not wait, so maybe Rodrigo should just go up to dinner, like she had said. He didn't feel like it though.

Rod had been put off food by the whole thing. He wasn't in the mood to eat, Rodrigo wasn't hungry. Maybe he'd go up to the library? He needed to do some more studying, anyway.

Things outside had gone pretty quiet, as most of the students had made their way inside, and there were only a few adults around now packing up the seating, thanking the centuars and whatever else needed doing. Despite the silence, however, Ida still had to strain to hear Rodrigo's plea.

Instead of answering with words, Ida merely shook her head and moved out of Rodrigo's way, making her own way into the medical tent.

"Piotr!" Ida squealed girlishly and she spotted him laying in bed. It was awful. Ida had appreciated before how truly handsome he was, but she had never acted on those thoughts. She'd always had bigger fish to fry. "Piotr, are you okay? You vere brilliant out there, and I just..." Ida trailed off as she took her eyes off Piotr and noticed another girl standing by his bed. With a pang, she thought momentarily of Rodrigo, and the situation she'd left it in. She was such a coward, really.

Feeling as if she was about to do something completely out of character, Ida started backing back out of the tent. "I think I just heard someone calling me, I better go see vho it vas..." She popped quickly out of the tent, and headed towards the Durmstrang Ship, keeping her head down as she walked and hoping not to catch Rodrigo's eye. She needed sometime to think.

Rodrigo watched as Ida left him and headed into the medical tent. He stood there for a moment, just staring after her. Rodrigo felt pretty gutted, if he was honest with himself. In a way, he'd found out that Ida didn't share the same feelings for him that he did for her. And that was what made him feel really crushed.

Pretty soon after she had entered the tent, Ida Voikin left it, and rushed past Rodrigo. A single word escaped his lips, "Ida." but it was barely audible. Whatever Rodrigo had thought they had between them was gone. He shouldn't have gotten involved in the first place. But it was so hard not to. Rodrigo felt a tear run down his face, and he let it fall.

Rod slowly turned around, and made his way up to the castle.

"I'll see you two later!"

Beth blinked as Rodrigo ran swiftly into the crowd. "Well," she looked at June "That was fast... And unexpected." She offered her friend a small smile. "You must be half-frozen already! Want to wait for Rod inside the castle? It should be much warmer there."
Beth, being a curious person, couldn't help but wonder what got into Rodrigo. It must have been something important if he had left in such hurry, she thought.
Most of the people have left the stands already and the cold wind was now striking her pretty unpleasantly, Beth's stomach grumbled as she, too, started to shiver from cold.

He grinned at Addie, feeling better now that he had his wounds tended to properly, "Did you want to go get something to eat? I can tell you all about what happened." He nodded farewell to Piotr, choosing not to say anything to Mariane given she had just abused two younger students, took Addie's hand and headed back up to the castle, his wand sitting snugly in his robes once again.
