Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

"TRISTAN!" Addie cheered, waving her flag madly as her boyfriend appeared, free from the confines of the forest. Naturally the Durmstrang champion was at his side, quickly being escorted off by several professors.

Heart of gold, that was her boyfriend.

Mitchell's eyes widened a fraction of an inch when Sierra spoke to him in her normal accent. "That's really sweet!" he said, his face blushing a light shade of pink immediately after Mitchell had spoken the words. He didn't think her original accent was weird, as Sierra had so described. It was actually quite the contrary, that was in his opinion though.

Mitch chuckled at Si's next comment. "Sold her soul!" he exclaimed. It didn't seem to be one of the most likely things that might have happened within the forest, Mitch didn't think so anyway. "She flipped in this task because of some beetles!" he remarked, with a sneer. It was pathetic, and how she had managed to finish first of all places! Well, Mitchell was slightly impressed, although that part was very, very small.

"Red Caps, I guess." Mitchell looked to where Sierra had gestured, but he could no longer see any of the creatures that she had said were there. Red Caps were a very likely guess though, Moody had been saying various things about them throughout the task. Sierra wouldn't know that though, she had arrived later than most.

"It's not that cold." Mitchell said simply, but he didn't tend to feel the cold much. Then again, Sierra was from Italy, and the English weather probably felt a lot colder to her than him. And even if Mitchell did feel the tiniest bit cold, he would not willingly admit that to anyone. Not so openly anyway. "But getting inside sounds really good right now." he added.

"That's really sweet!"

Sierra laughed, "Thanks! It's really nice of you to say that"

Mitchell was probably the first person that wasn't obviously surprised when they heard her accent. Most people just kind of sat there for a little bit. She liked that he was fairly easygoing about it.

She laughed even more when Mitchell claimed she must of sold her soul, "I would have to agree with you! And beetles? That's really, really pathetic. And she came in first? Stupid." She shook her head. How that ditz was their champion, she really had no idea. First was impressive, but the girl was far from skilled.

"What do Red Caps do?" Sierra asked, flushing slightly at how stupid she must sound, "I've honestly never heard of them. And it's freezing out! But then again, you're English, and Italy is much warmer. So you're probably unfazed. Lucky. I almost always get cold here!"

She looked up at the sky, noticing an owl flapping it's way towards the Owlery. "Hey, remind me to go to the Owlery when the Task is over. I have to see what my mother said about transfer-" She clapped a hand over her mouth.

I have really got to keep my stupid mouth shut.

Mitchell shrugged. "They're horrible creatures. Seem to like bloodshed and stuff like that.." Mitch pulled a face in disgust. "I'm sure the library has some books on them or something..." he said. It was clear from Mitchell's tone that he wasn't willing to talk anymore on the subject, so was quite relieved when Sierra started to speak again.

He nodded and smiled as Sierra told him how her country was much warmer, he wasn't surprised by it, and didn't feel as if he had anything to say on the matter. So Mitchell just stayed silent and waited for Sierra's next topic of conversation. He didn't have to wait long, as she spoke again pretty soon afterwards. During the brief time of quiet between he and Si, Mitchell glanced at Precious every now and then.

Mitchell was taken by surprise again by what Sierra said. "Transferring?" he guessed. It was vaguely clear that was what she was going to say. Mitch looked suspiciously as Sierra. Was she trying to transfer somewhere else? Was someone else transfering? Mitch had quite a few questions running through his mind becasue of what had slipped out of Sierra. "Sure, though." Mitchell decided it was best not to try and push the situation. He had noted how Sierra's hand had flown to her mouth after she asked him to remind her, so Mitch guessed she wasn't about to freely explain what she meant. He couldn't easily find out another time, in fact Mitchell would make sure of it.

"Ah." She said, biting her lip at Mitch's explanation of red caps. She grinned a little, "I don't know if I'd want to read a book like that to be honest with you."

She noticed he kept glancing at Precious and smirked a little. She lowered her voice so that only Mitchell could hear her. "You like her, don't you?" She wasn't going to push the matter much, but still, it was fairly obvious to her that he at least had some form of attraction for Precious.

"Thanks! I've been kind of forgetful lately." She tried to push all thoughts of transferring out of her mind. It wouldn't do her any good to worry about it when she didn't even know her mother's response. She was thankful that he didn't push the matter. Knowing her, she'd probably tell him later, but for know there was no point in making a big deal about it.

"So, what do you think the next task is going to be like?" She rolled her eyes as she looked at the field below her, "Hopefully more interesting than this at least."

She grinned when she saw Moody had finished his commentary. "Wanna go eat dinner? No point sticking around here anymore."

"And Mr. Nightshade and Piotr Rasputin have both appeared from the forest, a little worse for wear, but they're here. And here come the centaurs to deliberate with the judges before final scores are announced. You boys can go and get yourselves looked at in the medical tent. Meanwhile I'd best be off to the judges table, and we'll have scores announced in just a moment and then we can all go in and stuff ourselves at dinner. This concludes Mad-Eye Moody's commentary of the First Task."

"Quietus," he said, finally able to lower his wand from his throat. Moody reached for the flask at his hip and lifted it to his lips, taking a long drought of firewhiskey.

Merlin, I needed that.

Moody limped over to the judges table to hear what the centaurs had to say. Of course, Moody had seen the whole thing first hand, but it would still be beneficial to hear the centaurs' view on how the champions had fared. In any case, he wanted to know if the centaurs had a good excuse for not jumping in sooner when the Durmstrang had been injured.

Mitchell nodded, he figured it was better not to speak his answer, considering Precious was sitting right next to him. Although, knowing what Preci was like, she probably already knew Mitch liked her. Or at least, it wasn't hard to guess.

"I don't know..." Mitchell said, he was referring to the second task. "We'll find out soon enough though." he grinned. There wasn't a doubt in his mind about that. And besides, Mitchell wasn't that curious about it anyway, so whatever the Second Task was going to be, he hoped it'd take less time that the First Task had done. Maybe he'd skip it, he could always find out from someone else what happened later on. The free time would certainly be useful. "Hopefully." he added. Mitch didn't know, maybe he would attend. It wouldn't be so bad if he was sitting where he was at that moment. Sierra had certainly livened things up, whereas McKelvey had quite the opposite effect.

Once Moody had finished his commentary, Mitchell's eyes flickered between Sierra and where the ex-auror had been standing. "In a minute." Mitch said. He wanted to stick around a little longer, just to find out the scores. It would be interesting to know, even if it was just for the laughs.

"After the scores, yeah?" he asked Sierra. Mitchell's tone probably sounded overly keen, but he wasn't. Mitchell was just wondering who had the highest score out of the three champions'. The Beauxbaton had finshed first, but that didn't necessarily mean she had the highest. Mitchell still had his ideas pinned on the Durmstrang. Aside from all that, Mitch found he was a little curious, to say the least.

Sierra grinned when Mitchell nodded his head. She had thought so.

"I don't mind waiting until they say the scores. Beauxbaton is probably going to score the highest, being the first to finish and everything. Durmstrang still has a good chance though. Second Task, I'm definitely going to bet my money on Durmstrang. They're really keen competitors." She said, propping her chin in her hand.

This was actually turning out to be quite fun. It had been boring in the beginning, but once she struck up a conversation with Mitchell, it ended up quite interesting. She sighed, running her fingers through her hair.

"Who do you think did the worst?" She asked Mitchell, motioning towards the empty field.

Mitchell nodded. It felt good to have met someone new, especially when they seemed to get along really well with him. Mitch gave a thoughtful smile, his eyes still flicking around at the scenery in front of him. Sierra somehow seemed different to the typical Slytherin girl, or so Mitch thought anyway. Although she'd said to Precious that most people percieved her to be b*tchy, well Mitchell didn't see it. She seemed nice enough to him.

Mitch gave a light shrug. "I'm not sure," he replied. Mitchell didn't really know who had done the worst, and saying that, he didn't have a clear idea on the best either. "How about you?" He asked. It would be interesting to hear what Sierra thought, considering her late arrival to the task. Her opinion would probably be based on what she had seen though, and not the on the whole entirety of the task.

"Durmstrang. They just seem like the type of people who would succeed in this type of Tournament." Sierra grinned, before shivering again. "Damn, shivering is really starting to really get on my nerves. Curse my Italian heritage." She giggled, shaking her fist jokingly at the sky.

She shot a glance at Mitchell. Funny how she had known Mitchell for such a short time, yet they got along very well. Or at least, from her perspective they did. She didn't want to jinx it. The task was so much less boring when you had someone to talk to.

"I wonder when they're gonna come out with the scores."

As Mariane appeared from the forest, Rodrigo poked June's arm and pointed to where the Beauxbaton was walking. "Look!" He exclaimed. "That's the first of them!" Rod clapped along with some of the other students, a small smile spread across his lips. On the one hand, the Hogwarts Champion had not finished first, the Beauxbaton had - much to everyone's surprise. This meant that Rod wasn't as happy as he might have been, had Tristan walked from the trees first. But on the other hand, Rodrigo had already decided that he wasn't going to get caught up in stupid things like tournaments. He just wanted to meet people from the other schools, make new friends and the like.

Rodrigo spent the next moments just thinking about everything that had happened since the beginning of the year, his mind wandering. Rodrigo stared vaguely ahead of him, his eyes focusing on a few of the other students' faces. Rod noticed a particularly happy Beauxbaton student, and a grumpy Slytherin next to her. Rodrigo's eyes searched through the crowd, scanning faces. Some were recognisable, old and new friends, but others Rod had never seen in his life. However, the face of the one he hoped to see never appeared. Rodrigo had searched the crowds over and over for the last few minutes, but he still couldn't spot anything which resembled the Durmstrang he had grown to know so well over the passing months. Rodrigo simply couldn't spot the face of Ida Voikin.

As Alastor Moody's voice drifted through the stands, Rodrigo's eyes flickered to far below him. He shook his head, his hair flicking off his face. Rod listened intently for the last snippets of commentary. Once Moody had finished, Rodrigo looked at Tristan and Piotr, heading to the medical tent. He flashed a small smile to himself and waited for the results to be announced.

"Look like that's it then, June!" Rod said to her, his tone quieter than normal. Rodrigo sat still, his body tense. He was curious as to what the outcome of the First Task was going to be. And then he found himself wondering of the Second Task, what the champions' would have to do, how much harder it would be that the one they had just completed. "Until next time..."

Rod still hoped that somehow, by some miracle, that he would catch a sight of Ida before it was time to head back up to the school. The odds seemed unlikely, but Rodrigo was overcome by a feeling of happiness.

"And Tristan Nightshade is the second to gather all three items. However, he seems to be heading in the wrong direction now. He should be returning here, but he seems to be heading in the direction of the injured Durmstrang Champion!"

Emma was now screaming things she thought ladies like her could never dare speak.

"He's WHAT? WRONG DIRECTION? WHAT THE"--here she yelled out an expletive that made two first years in front of her wince in shock--"IS HE DOING?!"

Her nostrils flaring, Emma shook her head vigorously. "FRATERNIZING WITH THE ENEMY!"

"And it appears as though Quicompoix has seen her chance to finally break into the lead. She has completed her the hunt for her three times and is now making a run for the edge of the forest. She's followed by quite a few of those creatures, but she dispatches them quickly. She's almost to the finish line and...Quicompoix is the first to complete the task!"

Emma's cousin Titine, sitting beside Abe, hopped up and began cheering excitedly. Her face, flushed with happiness, turned to Emma's gloatingly. Emma rolled her eyes, huffed, and slumped lower in her heat. "I told Tinsley Quicompoix was no fairy princess. I guess I forgot to warn Rasputin and Tris, too. Damn it. Oh, well."

Em's competitive side was nasty, and rearing its ugly head. Good thing I like Kiki, or... Em's jaw tightened as Titine was now screaming happily in French. Probably something along the lines of, "Told you so, you all suck, we're going to win..." It seemed like the Titine Dupont thing to say, after all.

"And Mr. Nightshade and Piotr Rasputin have both appeared from the forest, a little worse for wear, but they're here."

Emma, grinning widely, leapt to her feet, her Tristan pride shirt sparkling like a flashing blue beacon. She really hoped Tris could see her making an idiot out of herself to support him. After all, only a great friend could make Em wear short sleeves in such cold weather--not to mention how potentially problematic all the flashing colors were. She hoped she wasn't responsible for any seizures. Emma Gray was a prefect, after all.

Mitchell laughed, despite his patience wearing thin. The task was great with Sierra there, no-one was doubting that. It's just the amount of time everyone had to wait for some commentary, or result or any scrap of news. He sighed, throwing a glance in the direction that Moody had moved to. He frowned and pulled a face of pure boredom to Sierra.

"I hope it's soon. Or we may have to just leave." Mitchell said, his tone slightly exasperated. Trying to occupy himself for a little longer, Mitchell thought over what Sierra's opinion was.

"Durmstrang does seem to be faring pretty well..." he said with a vague look on his face. A part of Mitchell wished that Hogwarts had a better champion, so they had at least a small chance of winning. Although, if Nightshade did win the tournament, then Mitch would have to take everything back. But it would probably be able to be put down to luck, as was the Quicompoix's completion of the task first.

The scores were still yet to be announced though, so perhaps the Beauxbaton student may not end up in first place. If there was any luck, Hogwarts would. But Mitchell would rather do anything than pin his hopes on the likes of a ravenclaw.

Vi, who had been sitting anxiously with Addie throughout the entire first task, now screamed out in happiness. She hadn't exactly been excited for Beauxbatons, though it was only polite to clap for Kiki's sister. Still, Violet was hoping Tristan would be alright, especially since if something would go wrong, she'd be the first to comfort Addie--and that wasn't exactly one of Violet's strengths. She could hardly comfort herself.

And then Tris appeared.

"Look! Look!" Violet excitedly nudged Addie, beaming.

"Second placeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" She hopped up and down. Hey, she'd never won anything before. Second place sounded pretty golden to her.

It's cute that everyone thinks they can be a queen, but remember who came FIRST.

Tinsley turned her face toward Julian, smirking slightly.

Of course Tristan had to be the hero, and let Beauxbatons snatch first place while he went off and rescued that other one. Well, Tinsley would have rescued him too. Look at him. Her mouth watering slightly--but only slightly--Tinsley tried to force herself to look amused. She did her best to put her hands together, to look as though she was clapping.

Her hands made no sound as she pressed them together lazily.

"It's a pity no one died," she remarked lightly, sounding very bored.

Sierra nodded, "I don't mind waiting if you want to stay and hear the scores. I so wish Hogwarts had a better champion. Preferably one who doesn't give up winning even if it saves someone from being eaten. I don't know, just a thought."

She stretched a little, her back had become sore from constant sitting. "Seems like a waste. He was so close to winning too. It's good Rasputin didn't get eaten, but still. We lost our lead. This whole competition is down to luck."

She grinned when she saw how bored he looked, and the way he kept looking after Moody. "Can't wait for the scores can you?"

"If he did get eaten, well all the more entertainment I say." Mitchell smirked. Yes, if Rasputin had gotten eaten then it wouldn't have had a great effect on the schools, but it would have made the task a whole lot more interesting. It would give people things to talk about, rather than the same old thing, time and time again. Mitchell couldn't be the only one getting bored of it?

Sighing, Mitchell returned his gaze to Sierra. "I'm curious, is all." he said, with a small smile playing at the corners of his lips.

As details of the task were relayed to them he had begun to lean further and further forward, craving intimate details of Nightshade's demise. And yet it threw his hands up in disgust as he emerged, seemingly unscathed, from the Forbidden Forest, nursing that oaf from Durmstrang, playing the hero and sucking up to the fools of this school.

He looked sideways at his counterpart, "There is always tomorrow." Julian sank back against the wood of the grandstand and waited for this farce to end.

Sierra laughed at his comment, "That would have looked lovely splashed across the Prophet, wouldn't it have?"

She made a figure with her hands to make it look like a camera. "Eaten by Red Caps! Durmstrang champion dead, Beauxbaton in tears over beatle out break, Tristan Nightshade as clueless as ever! How will this story unfold?" She grinned, "I'm thinking of selling the rights for a novel, what do you think?"

"They're both alright," said !Xabbu as he witnessed Tristan and the Durmstrang exiting the forest. Tristan was a little bloodied up, but it was the Durmstrang champion who was really injured. Both of them, Piotr with the help of Tristan, made their way to the medical tent as the judges deliberated.

"Looks like it's about more than just who comes in first," observed !Xabbu, "or else they wouldn't need to discuss it." !Xabbu himself had a feeling that Tristan's decision to help Piotr might count for more than most others were thinking. Then again, !Xabbu thought, it was probably up to the judge. Surely at least Professor Belleford will see that his heroic act deserved some merit.
