Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Kidnapped!

Tristan jumped as Moody roared at them to get going, racing head first after Piotr into the darkness of the Forbidden Forest. Almost immediately the sounds of the cheering crowd all but vanished, his eyes struggling to adjust to his surroundings. He raised his wand high above his head, "Lumos," and a familiar bright light shone in all directions from his wand tip. Lumos was the first spell any young witch or wizard was taught because regardless at how talented you were at more advanced incantations, you always needed a light at some point.

Now that he could see a little better he scanned the trees for any sign of movements that might suggest the centaurs were in that direction. He could see Piotr racing off in one direction, looking like some ancient barbarian racing off to slaughter a village. Tristan tsked at him, not openly liking the way he had acted towards him. But he was fairly certain that he was heading in the wrong direction if he wanted to find the centaurs. His previous encounters in the Forest suggested to him that they lived somewhere off to the right which is where he now headed.

His Quidditch training ensured that he was fit without being 'ripped', helping to keep up a steady jog as he made his way deeper and deeper into the Forest. He was feeling quietly confident as he hadn't been troubled by anything yet when without warning he tripped hard, slamming face first into the ground. Assuming it to be a tree branch he had failed to notice he was surprised and repulsed to find the familiar figure of a Red Cap staring back at him with its wicked grin. Tristan felt revulsion due largely to the attack by a horde of the creatures back in their 3rd year. Before that he had only heard about them in DADA, vile creatures that adore bloodshed, happy to beat to death any unwary witch, wizard or muggle who crossed their path. This one was alone but it wasn't stopping it from raising its club and hurling itself at him.

He raised his wand rapidly, firing off a Stunner which dropped the creature to the ground hard, giving him time to get to his feet. But by the time he was ready so too was the Red Cap. A deadly swipe by the club which would have taken his head off had it connected missed by inches, "Incarcerous!" he cried, watching thankfully as the ropes shot forth from his wand and wrapped themselves tightly around its body. The more the creature struggled the tighter they became until eventually it stopped, shooting a look of deepest loathing up at the wizard who had bound him.

Not wasting anymore time on the Red Cap, he took off in the direction he believed the centaurs to be, much more cuatious than he had been only two minutes earlier.

"The Durmstrang champion is the first to enter the forest," growled Moody, commentating on the proceedings for the crowd in his own fashion, "Is his head full of sawdust? This isn't a race! Oh, and look, he's already found trouble. One of those creatures that the school had a problem with a couple of years ago. Nasty things. Resemble red caps, but Bannishtar says they're something altogether different. And the way Rasputin took care of it isn't much prettier. Personally I wouldn't have been so brutal about it, but nice solid barrier charm nonetheless. Hard enough to crack that thing's skull like a melon.

"Nightshade finds himself in a similar bind. Another one? Weren't the centaurs supposed to be taking care of those things? Breed like rabbits, or so I hear. And Nightshade dispatches his enemy in a less-brutal, yet decidedly amateurish fashion. I'm hoping it occurs to him that not all creatures can be kept bound by something as simple as a conjured rope."

Bannishtar stood patiently in between two trees a good ways into the forest. Many of his companions were scattered throughout the area, on the off chance that one of the champions might stumble upon them. It seemed, however, as though they would never reach the place where Banni was stationed. It had been a long time since had entered the forest. Was the task starting late for some reason? Or were the champions not understanding that they were to seek out the centaurs.

Bannishtar had his bow and quiver of arrows. Lying at his feet was another bow and a quiver with only a single arrow. In front of the bay centaur was lumber arranged as if it would soon make a small fire.

It was quite a long time--perhaps a good forty-five minutes--since Bannishtar had entered the forest and taken his place that he spotted a small light moving about in the distance of the dark forest. It appeared to be wand light. About time, of course. The sun had probably already set by now, and the champions still had many challenges ahead in this task. If they took too much time, then their efforts would prove fruitless at dawn. One of their challenges could only be completed before the sun begins to warm the treetops.

As the light got closer, Bannishtar was able to make out the shape of Tristan Nightshade.

"Good evening, Mr. Nightshade," said Bannishtar, "Come closer, if you please. We have much to do before this task is done."

Tristan had been jogging for a good five minutes in what he believed was the right direction when it started to creep into his mind that perhaps he had gotten his bearings completely wrong and was heading in the total opposite direction. Since the initial attack he had dispatched three more Red Caps and a particularly angry Bowtruckle whom he had accidentally trodden on. His robes had gotten caught on a number of branches and he was now looking much more ragged than when he had entered. A combination of sweat and dirt were also splattered across his face, giving him the appearance of someone who was living in the Forest rather than just visiting.

He was about to stop and regain his bearings when he came across Professor Bannishtar by accident. "Professor! I was sure I'd gone in the wrong direction." He lowered his wand, having raised it at the initial sight of a unknown creature, and approached his Divination teacher.

Mariane took off like a shot into the forest, a blur of white and powder blue as she moved through the forest, looking for a glimpse of one of those half-breed beasts to talk to. Rather than help

Slowing, she pushed aside some of the thick brush, her knuckles bony and white around her wand as she flitted over the uneven earth. Mariane chose to ignore the sounds eminating through the forest, blocking out all the creepy, many-legged things that appeared as she ran.

It seemed much darker in the forest, although it was the daytime, and even if it was the early beginnings of fall, when she took a breath, the carbon dioxide hit the air in a puffy cloud.

Mariane glanced up at the tall, imposing trees only to have some sort of insect land in her hair.

It only took about a 1/4 of a second.

Screaming and roughing up her hair, Mariane let out a string of fowl words, batting at her head and shimmying as she hastily tried to get whatever it was off her person. The beetle fell to the ground on his back; his wings beat against the ground furiously. Panting, Mariane maliciously stomped on the poor beetle, crunching it underneath her trainer.

Smoothing her silver hair back, Mariane began again, until a large, harmonic hissing sound softly began. Walking a bit faster, her blue eyes frantically searching for a centaur--before the sound was right behind her.

Turning slowly, she saw hundreds of beetles pouring down from the trees around her, circling her, hissing loudly.

Mariane paled, her ice grip on her wand as she raised it slowly. She thinned her lips until they were nearly nonexistent on her face.

"Manges la merde," she said bluntly before she shouted, "Expulso!"

Bannishtar took up the spare bow and quiver (which held a single arrow) from the ground and offered it to Mr. Nightshade.

"You will--" Banni was interrupted by what sounded like an explosion in the distance. He looked over to his left, in the direction of the sound. One of the other champions, he presumed. Banni inwardly sighed. Had that really been necessary? There wasn't anything worse than a gytrash or those creatures around, and most of what they would find would be insects. He hoped that the other two champions would not cause any damage to the forest.

"You will need this," he said, turning his attention back to Tristan.

Tristan took the offered bow without uttering a single word, looking blankly down at the ancient weapon he now held. A full ten seconds must have gone by, the entire time he just stared at it, not sure why he had been given this. "Ok...what's this for?"

He was perhaps being a little slow but he failed to see why the Tournament would see them use a bow and arrow when they had their wands.

"Oh, they're starting!" hissed a excited June, quickly forgetting everyone around her and turned around, her knees slamming against Rodrigo's side. Rubbing her newly poked stomach, she yelled over the crowds cheer, just so he could hear it, "Whoops, sorry Roddie!" while her hands clapped, grinning as cheers for peoples favourite champion, and whistles filled the air. A couple girls even screamed 'We love you Nate Aphelion!', among them the two ravenclaws sitting infront of her and Rodrigo, and June had to cover her ears, laughing.

No longer caring about the cold, hard wood of the seat pressing against her knees, June rested her hands on her ankles, her palms pushed against the back of her shoe.( It was not a particularly comfortable way to sit, but it gave June a little more height, allowing her to peer over the brown mass of hair in front of her.. Stretching just a little bit forward, June grimaced as the smell of a flowery, oversweet perfume hit her, but decided not to let it destroy the challenge. Turning her focus to the drumstrang champion, June watched him quickly race into the forest, followed by Tristan. Mariane was the last to leave, but when she first entered, she was quickly gone from sight.

She looked over at Rodrigo and Beth, even her sister, and grinned, "Go Tristan Nightshade! Oh, this is so awesome" She could only imagine how much it sucked for those who were seventh years last year, who quit school before one of the most amazing events took place. It was like having to leave a circus before the big finale began.

Her small giggle on the sawdust commentar quickly turned into horror when Mad-eye told how the skull had been crushed by a barrier. Even though she was no fan of dark creatures, her imagination was far too vivid, letting her imagine the 'redcap' sprawled on the ground, skull crushed into pieces, blood soaking into the ground of the forest. Her disturbing mental image was luckily soon interupted by the sound of a explosion, and June gripped after Rodrigo's hand, "Rodrigo! Your hands are colder than...!" June didn't know what to say. Forgetting about why she had grabbed it for a couple second, June took both of Rodrigos hands, and rubbed them fast with her hands, making friction to warm them up. Once they no longer were freezing, June let go of one, but slipped her own little hand into the other, "There, better?" Her free hand she tucked in between her calf and her thigh, biting her lip when her slightly chilly fingers brushed against the back of her knees.

Rodrigo's eyes widened as the champions darted into the forest, one after another. All three of them were soon concealed from the stands by the thick trees. It was just a good thing for those watching, that they had Moody giving them updates. At least they had some knowledge of how their fellow students were faring against the wild forest.

As June's legs slammed into him, Rodrigo jerked back in surprise, sitting bolt upright. He heard June's apology and grinned at her whilst rubbing his side. "No problem," Rod resumed his previous position, and leaned forward. He had a fairly good view, being quite tall for his age, and so could see what was happening below him clearly. Not that there was much to see. In fact the whole school was relying on sound and hearing, the commentary from the ex-auror.

As the first batch of this hit Rodrigo's ears, he winced. Red Caps? The thought of them made him squeam, which was unusual - considering Rodrigo was hardly a squeamish person. But the picture of the vile and savage creature, lying broken on the forest floor didn't give him the best of mental images.

Rodrigo froze as an explosion came, could one of the champions be hurt? There were dangers in that forest, everyone knew that. And with the current times, well things were a lot more so than normal. Rodrigo hoped for Piotr, Mariane and Tristan's sakes, that the task wouldn't be too challenging. And that there weren't any more Red Caps hiding in the shadows of the trees. With that, he punched the air and shouted, "go Tris!" Followed up by a loud, ear-splitting whistle from someone below his row in the stand. Rodrigo let his hand fall back onto his lap and smiled. As the time passed, second by second, he was getting more into this tournament than before.

June took Rodrigo by much surprise. One minute, the bitter wind was dancing along his knuckles, and the next, they were covered by a warm hand. He looked at June for a second, their eyes meeting. Rodrigo smiled and nodded. "Much better," he agreed. Rod let June slip her small hand into his rather larger one. As they locked, Rodrigo's arm fell down to hang by his side, swinging ever so slightly. His other hand gripped the underneath of the bench, his fingers tracing along the worn away wood, feeling the scratches and marks from years of use. His fingers swiped over something smooth and round, he had to go back and check it was really there, and he wasn't just imagining things. But sure enough, Rodrigo found the hard lump clinging onto the bench, the texture quite different from that of the wood. Rodrigo's face filled with disgust. Some people! He'd seen a few of the students chewing it. Gum was nasty stuff, in his opinion anyway.

And the thought that the small piece had been in somebody's mouth before his fingers had touched it, well... ew. Rodrigo shuddered, and pulled a face at June, his lips sounding one word.

"Yuck."

A row of white, uneven teeth smiled at Rodrigo, and a thin, small finger tickled him between the thumb and index finger. The skin was unnaturally smooth there, thought June, wondering if Rodrigo perhaps used hand lotion just there. Her eyes wandered off, first looking over at Emma and Abe, wondering how Emma was able to stay warm. Then they slid over to the rest of the crowd, resting on the small first year she had comforted earlier today. June had been certain that she had seen the girl at her most distressed earlier today, but somehow the girl looked more depressed and lost now.

Her hand tightened, and June felt so bad for the little girl, who was getting comforted by one of her friends, surrounded by cheering people. She looked so misplaced among them, and June wanted to stretch out and embrace her.

Her strong grip loosened up when she ripped her hand away, now studying Beth, who was talking to Jenny. June was happy that Beth had not changed much. At last, she returned to Rodrigo's, and saw that his eyes were filled with disgust. Stroking her thumb against her palm, June wondered if perhaps her hand was grown sweaty, "Yuck," he said, and June raised her eyebrows in confusion.

"What is it?" She rested her chin on her shoulder, trying to read it out of him, "Is anything wrong?"

"Let me see what you have to offer Mitch," Precious said, playing with the buttons on her coat. She listened to Mitch's explanation. It was starting to bore her this lecture and all. "Whoa Mitch. I asked what you had to offer, not you're whole life story." she said with a sneer. Though Mitch was right: Precious was hiding something. Not just her mermaid status, but her own sister, and her real self. But come on now, Mitch was just a boy that wanted Precious Hindert. Only physically, she guessed. So why should Precious have to dig in deep to please him?

"I suppose you're right," Precious said, crossing her ankles. "But I was sort of expecting a pearl necklace." she said, tilting her head to the left. A fake smile on her red lips, her eyes scanned the stands for anyone else who wouldn't bother to give her a lecture or somewhat. "Mitchie, I don't think Dave will take to kindly to the fact that you made a nickname for me." Precious said, her hoop earrings dangling as she turned to look on him.

"I don't know," Dave said, appearing at the seating area and approaching Precious and Mitch. "I'd say it's one of the nicer names I've heard you called, that's for sure," Dave commented. It was just like Precious to be deep in conversation with another guy, and though it hadn't bothered Dave in the past, this conversation seemed to have been going somewhere. Didn't Precious have any female friends to talk to instead of just moving around to all the guys?

Without looking at either of them, Dave took a seat on the other side of Precious and placed his hands in his lap, leaning back in his seat. Though his face seemed unemotional, his insides swelled with anger. This sort of thing had happened many times in the past, but it was starting to get old. Didn't Precious understand how a relationship was supposed to work?

Precious froze as Dave appeared. His voice tone didn't sound too happy. She cursed under her breath, regretting ever talking to Mitchell. She watched as Dave sat on the other side of her, biting her bottom lip. For once in the 2 months they've been together, she was actually afraid of Dave. Not only did she not know what to say, but she didn't know whether if she should leave Dave alone or give him a hug or something. Boy, weren't relationships confusing? This was why she stuck to flings here and there.

Precious bit the inside of her cheek, still a little shocked that Dave had heard them. What had he heard? Did he hear the whole conversation? "Er . . . Hi Dave. Didn't see you there." Precious said slowly. She didn't want to make him more mad. It wasn't a Dave thing to do. Precious was more of the one who would murder anyone who talked to him.

Dave simply yawned as he looked into the Forbidden Forest, choosing instead to ignore Precious. She seemed to have picked up on his lack of emotion and affection towards her, as she was always used to having Dave's attention as soon as they saw each other. It pleased him to see that she seemed to realize that what she was doing was wrong for once.

Precious was the one that would eat any girl alive if they even hinted at liking Dave, yet she seemed very open with other males, and it did bother Dave to see it. Maybe she wanted him to start acting as territorial as she was, but how could he? He couldn't blame a guy for being a guy; if you put food in front of a dog, he's going to eat it, much like how almost no guy would hesitate a bite with the way Precious advertised herself in front of them. Regardless, Dave was mad, but he wouldn't explode in the way that Precious would. He instead chose to remain silent to keep himself calm; there would be ample time to discuss the matter later.

Mitchell shrugged at Precious' response. Why should he care what this Dave thought? Mitchell could call someone what he wanted without a boyfriend 'not taking kindly' to it. If Mckelvey was bothered, he'd have to live with it. And if he wasn't well... good. "He'll live."

And then, of course he arrived. Mitchell smiled wryly. This was going to be interesting. Provided they didn't go all lovey-dovey on him. He wasn't going to sit out in the cold, and on the hard bench with that happening beside him. He'd be out of that seat like a shot. And who cares about the task anyway? All the other students seemed to be enthralled now that the champions' had disappeared into the forest. Well, all except from Mitchell.

He made no effort to greet Dave, he didn't know the boy. And well, he didn't care. If they were made to have some sort of friendship and such, well Mitchell didn't see it. Besides, he was perfectly happy talking to Precious alone. Things hadn't gone quite the way he'd have liked. Heck, Mitchell wanted Precious. And in more ways than one. He was sure she knew that. But he would have to wait though, she was with McKelvey.

How long was a different matter. He was sure it wouldn't take too long for Precious to move on. After all, this was the Precious Hindert.

Rodrigo shook his head. "Nothing is wrong, exactly" he said. But the thought of that single piece of gum clinging to the underside of the bench sickened Rodrigo. The grey lump which used to be so white, frozen against the wood. He pictured the hundreds of bacteria and whatnot crawling across the surface-

Quite enough. Rodrigo shuddered, it could have been from the cold weather, but it wasn't. Just the picture of that gum in his mind made him feel sick. And it wasn't as if Rodrigo was a clean-freak, he didn't mind that much actually. As long as he was dressed smartly, then Rodrigo wasn't bothered by mess. That gum...

Rodrigo shook his head wildly, his hair flicking around his face. Rod's eyes fell to his lap, and he sat there looking calmly at his black trousers. After a few minutes had passed, Rodrigo looked up, his eyes immediately locking with June's. His best friend deserved to know what was troubling him. Even if it wasn't that much of a problem to most. "Chewing gum is a nasty habit." he said to June, finally revealing to her why he had snatched his hand back so quickly. "Especially if you leave it on the underside of benches."

Rod quickly changed the subject, and beamed at June. His grip tightened a little around her tiny hand, as he gave it a little squeeze. "How do you think the champions are doing?" he asked her. "I hope they don't come across anything too nasty whilst in that forest..."

Precious bit her bottom lip more, unsure of what to do. There was a very awkward presence between the three, and it was making Precious nervous. She ran a hand through her hair, still unsure of what to do. There were plenty of guys Precious had seduced: Mitchell, Collin, James. She forgot the names of the other guys, but Dave was her boyfriend. She was just making sure that she had back up when he dumped her . . . Or more like, she dumped him. That didn't matter anyway, Precious liked Dave McKelvey very much.

Precious had hardly paid any attention on what was going on with the reason why she was here. The Slytherin forgot why she actually came anyway. She leaned forward and buried her face into her knees. "Oh my gawd. F.M.L." Precious muttered to herself. She sat up straight again, her hoop earrings dangling wildly. "Anyone want to tell me what's happening down there?" Precious offered sweetly, jerking her head to the forest.

Mitchell's eyes flickered to the forest and back to Precious. He nodded. "Yes, Mad Eye Moody." his tone was completely unenthusiastic. A small smile was present on Mitchell's lips, and his eyes sparked mischievously. His eyebrows were raised and it was like Mitchell was daring Precious - or Dave to say something against him. He folded his arms across his chest and gave a light sigh.

He was bored. Dave arriving had been a complete downer on the conversation. With a little bit of luck, McKelvey would pick up on where he wasn't wanted and scarper. Not that it was likely to happen though.

Mitchell had heard something previously about Tristan's bad technique at defeating a Red Cap. "Turns out Nightshade is turning out to be as crap as everyone expected though." he said with a smirk. Everyone knew that a fifth year would probably fail at the tournament against those much older than them. But a Fifth Year Ravenclaw ? That was just heading straight for disaster.

Not that Mitchell cared in the slightest. The quicker the task was over, the sooner he could escape back to the castle. But maybe, just maybe, Mckelvey would leave before then. So Mitchell and Precious could pick up where they left off, when they were alone.

June was still a question mark, wondering why he was talking about chewing gum. She knew she didn't, she liked swallowing what she chewed, and besides, it made one look so extremely stupid and ignorant. Scratching the back of her knee, June kept a ear open to listen to Rod. When he came to the point, June grimaced, "Eww... Gross," her frown deepening, June added, "Or if you put it in someones hair, its impossible to get off," A flash of a very traumatic childhood experience came to mind, when he had somehow managed to get the synthetic goo in her hair, and had to clip of a lot of hair. She looked like she had allowed Justin cut her hair with dull scissors for many weeks.

Looking down at her hand when Rodrigo squeezed it, June went from frown to grin, "I dunno, Moody's so silent..." She sighed, looking up at her friend, "I don't think they'll encounter anything too dangerous," even though redcaps were dangerous, especially the ones at hogwarts, June didn't think they'd placed anything more scary and deadly than that. What about the explosion? June shrugged to herself, "At least we're up here, and I'm sure the teachers will help out if if goes wrong,"
