Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Elle sighed very quietly before flashing him a genuine smile. Bothering her. Far from it. She knew it didn't appear so, but she very much enjoyed his company. She just sort of wished that she could know him better. It seemed to her he was a very private person. He thought everything about him was boring when she thought the exact opposite.

She very tenatively rested her hand on his shoulder. It wasn't meant to be anything more than a simple gesture, one to let him know that she was being completely honest with him--a real rarity coming from Elle.

"You're not bothering me at all, Grant. I'm just trying to figure you out and I can't seem to do that. I'm sorry I'm so boring right now. But, honestly, I'd be completely lonely if you left."

She gave him a small smile and looked into his eyes. She wondered what he was thinking, thought about asking, but pushed that idea away. No use, she figured. He would probably just give her some lame answer.

Grant smiled sheepishly as Elle sounded genuine. "Figure me out?" He asked incredulously, as if he hadn't heard anything that shocking in his life. "Why?" He asked, a puzzled look on his face. He was boring, he was plain. A plain Jane...or John rather. Grant tilted his head to the side, still looking at Elle quizzically. "I mean, I don't think you're lying or anything. It's just...I'm used to people just acting like they get me." Grant told her with honesty, shrugging his shoulders.

Although relief had flooded through him when Elle admitted she would be loney without him, Grant couldn't help but secretly doubt if she was being truthful. Grant had a habit to think little of himself, to not see himself as clear as others saw him. It was a flaw...one of many. "And I don't think you're boring. I think you're not being completely honest about why you're so...down. But I definitely do not consider you boring." He said with a crooked smile, looking away in embarrassment.

She sighed deeply, still smiling a little, and looked at him for a very long moment. She was wondering whether or not she should tell him thr truth. She wondered how he'd react if she told him what was really on her mind. She bit down softly on her lower lip, lowering her eyes for a moment before looking back up at him.

"The truth is, Grant," she began. She paused, took a deep breath and started again. "The truth is...I've just been wondering why we have an amazing night together and then you get back with your girlfriend. I mean I know we barely know each other, and I didn't expect you to, like...be with me or anything. It just confused me, I suppose."

She peered deeply into his eyes. She hadn't given this much of her soul out to anyone in a very very long time. She wondered what the hell was wrong with her. She'd gone from a cool, collected part-time bitch to a moping sap who wanted nothing more than a boyfriend. Before he could respond, she spoke again.

"And I would've talked to you about it earlier, but I didn't want you to get the wrong impression. And I didn't want you to think I was weird. I don't want us to stop being friends because of this...And sorry. For just dumping all of that on you."

Grant's smiled slid from his face, his expression turning somber and a bit shameful. He couldn't deny any of what Elle said, it was all truth and none of it made any legitimate sense. She was right, how could he spend an amazing night with her and then run back into Kayden's arms? Grant shook his head, "I'm actually glad you told me. Don't be sorry..." He mumbled, grimacing slightly as he thought about what to say. He didn't want to give away too much, he didn't like opening up to...well, anybody.

But Grant had little self-control these days. "Honestly? I don't know why I ever got back with her." He began in an earnest tone, "I mean...I hadn't seen her or spoken to her until Halloween. Her parents they're kn..." Grant stopped himself. He was almost about to admit Kayden's parents' secret. That wouldn't be good, for Kayden or for Grant. "They weren't keen on her returning..." He amended quickly, "She had only got back that night and after you'd gone to bed I went for a walk.."

"I don't know, we just ran into each other and before my memory kicked in, reminding me of why we ended things in the first place - we were together..." Grant paused, rubbing his neck. He felt the need to explain it to Elle. To tell her honestly what had happened. "And I guess I just got so caught up with her I couldn't think straight." He admitted miserably, regretting his choice to stay and chat, yet thankful for the chance to finally talk.

"Don't get me wrong, I liked you. I still do. It's just...I have a hard time admitting my faults. I'm not normally so Abe Halifax about girls, you know?" Grant shrugged, "I'm sorry. I really am. If I could go back in time I'd change things...but I can't." He told her in a helpless voice. If Grant had the bravery, or the courage, he wouldn't care about Kayden and just act upon his impulses...which were screaming at him to just kiss her. But Grant was a gentlemen, and even though him and his girlfriend were on the verge of splitting, Grant couldn't do that to Elle.

"Hey...don't look so down."

She reached over with one hand, a small smile playing on her lips, and gently touched the corner of his mouth, pushing up a little to make him smile. She hated being the cause of sadness, if only with people she liked. And she most certainly liked Grant.

"It's okay, really. I totally understand," she half-whispered as she leaned in a little closer. "I really do."

She turned her body so she was facing him more, tucking her legs up underneath her. She leaned in just a little bit more, moving her fingers so they delicately ran down his jaw. She gave him a teasing, cat-like smile.

She was more determined than ever. Nothing and no one in this world was going to stop her from getting what she wanted. Oh no. She leaned in so her lips were just a few short inches away from his. Her voice was quiet and a little husky.

"But even though I get it...I kind of think we should just--" she cut herself off and closed the distance between them. Her lips were soft and lingering on his. She pulled away very slowly, staying close to him even after she had stopped their kiss. She looked into his eyes, a little captivated by him.

Grant was dreaming, that was it. He was asleep in his four-poster, dreaming about Elle Kennedie. He had to be asleep, because there was no way that Grant Winter's would be able to kiss a girl like Elle without the influence of fire-whiskey and dim lighting. Grant commanded himself not to think, to clear his mind. He wasn't going to ruin this moment for himself; and if he was indeed dreaming, well then he didn't want to wake up anytime soon.

His eyes closed the moment Elle's lips had touched his and sent a pleasant shock through his body. She pulled away, but he wanted more. He'd always want more of what he couldn't have. "Mmm," was the only sound he could mutter as he cupped Elle's face in his hand and pulled her closer. A warming sensation, much like the feeling butterbeer gave the drinker, was following through him. And then suddenly, his mind exploded like a canon.

Kayden Slayer.

Images, conversations, feelings all flooded through him at once, causing Grant to pull away quickly. He had a girlfriend. Sort of. He loved her. He thought. So why was he in some corridor with another girl, snogging her? Grant's mind began to bicker. Kayden verses Elle. The pro's and con's - Elle's pro's outweighed Kayden's...

Either way, Grant had been unfaithful. Even if he had had every intention on ending things with Kayden, he had still broken the trust they had. But she snogged Abe Halifax when we were together... a small voice in the back of Grant's head said, in a justified, defiant tone. But did that make it right? Did it make it wrong? Perplexed, Grant slumped against the wall, his hand dropping heavily to the floor.

"I shouldn't have done that." He said miserably, closing his eyes and pounding his head against the stone wall. It was painful, but the pain felt good - like he deserved it. And he did. Sort of. "I have a girlfriend...and it's not like I don't enjoy being with you, it's just..." Grant was once again, at a lost for words. "I have a girlfriend..." He repeated half-heartedly.

In the words of Tinsley Charmichael: Don't you want to share the guilt?

She studied his face in the brief seconds she was allotted before he was kissing her again. She smiled softly and sighed against his lips, bringing her own hands up to gently stroke his arms. She knew it was wrong--kind of-- but what the hell did she care? Oh, yeah. She didn't.

Suddenly he was pulling away, babbling about his girlfriend. It seemed like they always did this. It wasn't the first time Elle Kennedie was "the other girl". No no, she definitely had experience in that department. And almost every time she had gotten the same speech. "You slut, seducing me like that." Or otherwise, "I have a girlfriend and I love her and I can't believe I just kissed you."

But she knew by now that it was just a subconcious reaction. Deep in their minds they knew what they were doing was right. If they didn't have the strength to be faithful, then clearly something in the relationship was lacking. They always left their girlfriends for her. Always. And how dare they ever cheat on her. Elle was never ever ever left for another girl. She avoided that by leaving them before they could do the same.

She jerked herself back to the present and gazed at Grant through half-open eyes. She leaned in close again and rested her hand softly over his heart.

"Grant...What do you want right now? Me or her? Because if I know anything--and I certainly do--I'm pretty certain that I'm the one you want."

Grant groaned, "Elle..." He said in a defeated tone. Grant knew that she was right, and worst he knew that she knew she was right. Ugh, he murmured as he pulled Elle in for another kiss. Grant knew it was wrong, but he honestly could care less right now. After a few blissful seconds...or was it mintues? - Grant pulled away.

Smiling sadly, "Elle you're honestly going to be the death of me." He said, half-joking, half-serious. If Kayden found out, she (or her parents) would curse them into oblivion. "Do you enjoy torturing me?" Grant asked, raising an eyebrow and leaning in for another kiss.

She grinned wickedly and kissed him hard, only half understand what he'd just said. She wanted nothing more than to just kiss him and then kiss him some more. She cupped his face in her hands and planted several light, lingering kisses on his mouth before answering him.

"Yes," she said between kisses, "I do."

She leaned in for a few more moments...minutes? months? years? of kissing. There was nothing in the world that could make her happier than she was in that very moment. She didn't care about Kayden or consequences or anything that she could possibly do to her. She just cared about kissing Grant and getting what she wanted. She pulled away just for a minute.

"You know, everybody's probably down at the First Task so...looks like we pretty much have the castle to ourselves."

She grinned devilishly, a few things coming to mind. But she would wait to see what kind of mischievious things he could come up with before giving away all of her ideas.

Grant was sick and tired of playing by the rules. Shutting off the voice in the back of his head, which sounded remarkably like Emma's, Grant gave in to what he really wanted. He kissed Elle back as gentle as he could without seeming timid. He didn't want her to think he wasn't a gentlemen, after all. Grant moved his hands down to Elle's waist, pulling her closer.

"Oh, the first task? I hope you weren't planning on attending..." Grant smiled as he surfaced for air. He tried to steady his breathing and relax his body but it just wasn't happening. Elle didn't make him feel the way he felt with Kayden, that was for sure. "Because, if you were, I'd have to stop you -- somehow."

Grant knew exactly what Elle was playing at. She knew the score, probably better than he did. Only Grant was well aware of the consequences. "Maybe we should relocate..." He suggested, glancing around the empty corridor. There was slim chance they would be interupted, but the stone floor was begining to upset his butt.

She smiled and gave him one last teasing kiss before standing up. She arched her back and shook out her silky, red curls. She ran through a list of places they could go in her head, figuring the room of requirement might be the best place. It could be very very romantic.

"We can relocate if you promise not to be so careful with me," she said with a wink, "I'm not going to break you know. Besides...it could be fun to see your bad side."

She smiled coyly and beckoned to him with one finger as she started walking slowly backwards down the hall. Oh yes, the room of requirement would be just what they needed. She just hoped he would stop being so gentlemanly. Sometimes it was called for, but not now...Now it was time to be a little dangerous. And she certainly had a taste for danger.

Grant smiled slyly as Elle stood up, and he mimicked her. Stretching, Grant looked at Elle with a bemused expression. "I don't have a bad side." He said stubbornly. This wasn't in fact, a hundred percent true. Everyone had a bad side, some were just more private about their's than others were. Grant gulped involuntarily as Elle beckoned him down the hallway and like a robot, Grant followed suit, almost mechanically.

He knew he shouldn't follow her, his conscious was screaming at him - in three different languages - but Grant ignored them. "Where are you planning on kidnapping me to?" He asked innocently, smiling crookedly as he continued to walk the length of the hall, his hands raised. Grant's head was spinning with possibilities, each scenario involving several compromising positions.

"No bad side, huh? Well we'll see about that."

She smirked devilishly to herself as she turned away from him. She shook her lucious red curls over her shoulders and made extra sure that her hips swayed just the right way. She was so ready for this, had been ready for it since Halloween, and now her dreams were all coming true.

In the back of her mind she wondered how far he'd been, how far he'd be willing to go. Elle Kennedie was no virgin, and she would be sure to make that clear to him. For a moment she wondered how far he'd gone with Kayden. It was just revolting, really, that he would be with her. She had never really met the girl, but from afar she got the idea that she wasn't anything extraordinary. She paused and turned back to him as he asked his question.

"The room of requirement seems like a pretty safe place, yes?"
