| Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go? You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. Flavia smiled at the Ravenclaw. "Hey, not all Slytherins are that bad, but there aren't very many people in my house who support Slytherin. Some Slytherins are really mean, and you can just ignore them." As the Ravenclaw asked her whether Tristan had a chance against that Durmstrang guy, Flavia's expression sobered. "Yeah, he's smarter," reasoned Flavia, not about to let her think that all Slytherins were as mean as those who had teased the Ravenclaws mercilessly during breakfast. The Ravenclaw girl suddenly stood up and asked whether she wanted to go for a walk. "Yeah, why not?" asked Flavia, grinning, glad to have a friend. |

"I'll try remember," said June, wondering if the cloud she was veiwing looked more like a horse or a mimbulus mimbletonia. Settling for a horse with a tenacle from its belly, she just nodded to whatever Abe said, not listening carefully. "Wait...?" she suddenly said, realising what he had said, "I don't..." June didn't undress him with her eyes... At least not often. Digging her teeth into her lip, she stared at the cloud again. The mention of the yule ball made her shrug, she was certain that Abe Halifax had already gotten a date, and if not, he wouldn't be interested in taking her. Besides, his face showed that it was just a question. Going with Aiden though, she hadn't thought of that. It would be fun, laughing and such, "No, actually not. but its a good idea. I'll ask if he wants to go with me, as friends of course." She smiled, "Save me a dance though, hm?" |

Aiden tried to picture Amaya's Japan. All he'd ever heard about was the city, so trying to picture a rural village was a bit difficult for him. He also tried to imagine what it would be like to live with a rich family. His own wasn't poor in the least, but they were far from rich. Middle class, one could call it. He also tried to imagine what it would be like to be tutored at home. He couldn't believe that she'd done it all with a happy face. To be cooped up at home…didn't she have any friends? Didn't she want to see them at a school? Shaking his head, he let the subject drop, as he was asked about Hogwarts, and how he found it. "Honestly, it's the best thing to happen to me," he replied, thinking of how his life would be without it. "It gets me away from home. And learning magic…it frees me, you know? Makes me feel better about everything." He nodded, satisfied with this answer. But, before he let the conversation die, he said, "But even though it's difficult, you've gotta have friends, right? Someone like you is bound to have a good circle of friends by now, even if the year just started!" ((sorry it took so long)) |

Abe tilted his head at June and looked at her with an incredulous stare. "You can't ask a boy." He told her thickly, his eyes wide and staring. "It's a ball, not a feast. You don't ask to go to a ball with someone just as friends..." Abe continued, closing his eyes and shaking his head. "You have to wait for him to ask you June. Guys don't like to be asked. They like to do the asking." Abe cracked a grin, rolling his eyes playfully at June. "Don't fret, love. Somebody will ask you. Just do me a huge favor and do not ask anyone yourself." Abe told her wise, sounding as though he knew full well what he was talking about. And he did. He knew girls. And he knew himself - and he was pretty sure all boys were the same...except some were...switch hitters. Which was a non-issue, considering Abe didn't care. Girls who asked boys, and asked them as just friends, seemed too desperate. And he didn't want June to sound desperate. |

June shrugged, finding his reaction funny, like she had just come with the most weird, idiotic idea ever. With a smile, she didn't understand the difference between a ball and a feast, balls just involved... Dancing, and... A prettier dress. Sitting on a chair on one side of the room, waiting until one got a good excuse to leave... Crying into the pillow later on... Mascara smudges on her pillow that she'd never get off, next to the drop of blood from when she had hurt her head one time. "Hah, as if I'd ever dare actually ask him. I'm not that brave, I'm no gryffindor. But if I go dropping hints it will sound like I like like him, which would be totally wrong..." Raising her eyebrow, she sighed, "I promise not to ask anyone, but I doubt anyone will ask me. I'm too dull to get asked, anyone would pick a exotic, beautiful... Beauxbatons or one of the smart and confident ravenclaws and gryffindors," She laid herself down, her elbows starting to ache, "Or fall for the mystical, cat-like beauties of slytherin or the babes of hufflepuff," she had yet to meet someone who didn't fit somewhat into the stereotypes, except for herself, "Heck, I've got two big sisters who'd anyone with healthy eyes would chose before the little grey mouse June," It felt weird to say her thoughts out loud, she hadn't even told Rodrigo exactly how boring and dull she felt she was. "I'm just not the type people ask, I'm the type of girl who is supposed to be in the shadow of others, thats who I am," she stretched out her hand, tracing the outline of the clouds, "I'm worrying again..." she stated, laughing at herself, Edited by June Brooks, Aug 13 2009, 01:06:17 PM.

Abe stayed quiet. But he knew he wouldn't be able to remain so for long. Did June have any idea what she was saying? She wasn't dull, or boring - quite the contrary. She was interesting, and sweet, adorable even. She was caring and passionate, yet lacked confidence. She had been stepped on too many times by her older siblings; she was a wreck. "June you have no idea what you're talking about. I mean, okay you might feel that way but that's not how others see you, trust me." He assured her in a serious, convincing voice. He couldn't believe she thought she wasn't the type of girl to get asked to balls, that she was the 'type' to just stand quietly in the dark corner, watching everyone elses happiness yet feeling none for herself. "Listen, I've met your sisters before and honestly no offense, but they aren't anything special. They're vapid and haughty. You're nice, and kind. June, thank God everyday that you're not like them. Thank God that you're different." Abe said, pulling grass up from its roots and tossing it into the blowing wind. "Don't doubt yourself. Have confidence. I know things have happened to you in the past to make you believe you can't succeed in anything, to make you think you don't deserve what you want. But that's crap June. You have to start today. Start believing in youself. Stop worrying, start living." |

Vapid and haughty? Her sisters? She didn't believe him, Jamie and Jenny were fabulous, beautiful and great even though Jenny scared her. She didn't dare stand up to Jenny, last time had ended horrible. Jamie was nice, she just got caught up in things to easily. Jenny wouldn't like if June became a center of attention, or tried to become it, she'd detest her for it, and June couldn't take it if her sister hated her even more. She just rolled her eyes when he mentioned confidence, what did she have to be confident about? She was a complete failure as a witch, the only time when she ever felt confident was when she was in total balance, sliding across the ice, or on a hovering on a broomstick, stretching herself towards the skies. June hadn't done that for a while, neither. She didn't own a broomstick anyways. It was nice of him to lie, she thought, "I'm fine with the way my life is," said June, running a hand through her hair, "I've got great friends, I can skip rocks, I make others life a little bit better, what more could I wish for?" June knew millions of things she wished for, but to actually try get it would mean that others would get dissapointed, mad at her. She didn't like people not liking her. |

Abe sighed in frustration, but smiled warmly at June. He wrapped his arms around his knees, "If you were fine with the way your life was then you wouldn't think you were a failure. Or not good enough. If you were fine with the person you are, you'd always be happy and never worry." He told her in a low, crisp voice, his face hard. You couldn't teach an old dog new tricks, and Abe guessed that theory applied to girls as well. You couldn't change how they felt about themselves. They'd have to do that on your on. You'd just have to sit on the sidelines and watch them self-destruct and never reach their full potential. It was like watching suicide. "Well, anyways. I don't want to argue with you. You're going to believe one thing and I'm going to believe something completely different. That's the way it's always going to be. Even with the best of friends." Abe muttered, he didn't want to switch topics, but he didn't want to fight and he didn't want to make June feel bad. "So, you can skip rocks. That's neat!" Abe congratulated, doing his best to make his smile look pleasant and convincing. |

Rubbing her palm against her arm, she listened to what he said, and nodded. He didn't show any signs of lying, and June wondered if he actually meant what he said. Perhaps he actually thought she was a great person, a nice, sweet person. Or perhaps he was lying, and just wanted her to get confidence only so it could get torn down again. She didn't believe Abe would do the last, no one would ever do something that evil. But the first one seemed too impossible. June laughed at his reaction to skipping rocks, it made her feel rather stupid when it was complimented, as if it was all she knew, "Mhm, I just learnt how to do it, so I'm not very good, but always fun to manage something. Do you have any small things you know that you're proud of? Thats sort of what it is..." |

"Someone like you is bound to have a good circle of friends by now, even if the year just started!" Amaya smiled slightly at the compliment, but it swiftly faded and she instead took on a thoughtful expression. "To be honest, I haven't really met many people yet. I know a Ravenclaw or two but I wouldn't say I have a circle of friends at all. I hope I can meet more people, I'd like to get to know a lot of students." Amaya tilted her head to the side, biting her lower lip slightly while she mulled something over, then she turned to look at Aiden and smiled. "I'd...like to spend some time together with you, whenever is convienient. Like I said, I don't know many students but you seem to be nice and I'd like to get to know you better." Amaya knew that her offer was a bit sudden, but she felt comfortable with Aiden, and he seemed like the kind of person that she would enjoy spending more time with. |

"Hey, not all Slytherins are that bad." Veronica couldn't help but snort slightly at that but disguised it as a clear of her throat. But since Flavia was being so bizzarely nice to her for a Slytherin, Veronica decided not to constantly bash her house. She began her walk at a slow pace, almost too slow at first but she gradually fell into a neutral step. "Yeah, he's smarter," Veronica couldn't help but grin at the Slytherin beside her who was practically complimenting the whole house of Ravenclaw in a rather indirect way. "Yep, that's what we Ravenclaws are." Veronica said. "Smart-arses." She added in an undertone as a laugh escaped her lips. [OOC: Gah, Sorry its so short ><] |

Abe racked his brains. There was nothing he was particularly good at, besides girls. Nothing small he was proud of, except being able to charm just about everyone. But Abe didn't want to toot his own horn or anything, so he shrugged. "I guess I know what you mean. And skipping rocks is a good stress reliever." He added, nudging June slightly and winking. "Yes, I can't wait to see what they've planned," said June, pushing herself up so she also was sitting up straight, before she added, trying to sound wiser than she was, ending up just... Being June, "But it is sort of grotesque at the same time...I mean, its not just fun and games, is it? Its dangerous, Tristan must be really scared, if I was him, I'd be hiding somewhere no one could ever find me. Then again, I'm a coward. I'd hide if I just had to do something... Infront of a lot of people..." She ran her hand down her back, noticing that a lot of grass had stuck to her, and she began to pluck them off, "But it will be... Ok, I guess, I'll just have to force Rodrigo or someone to hold my hand when it gets too scary, and try not to watch the worst" A little laugh escaped her, accompanied by a wink. Still busy getting grass of her shirt, June turned silent, concentrating on getting the green straws off her. |

Abe smiled as he stretched out his hand and assisted de-grassing June's back. As he plucked spades from her shirt, Abe laughed. "Tristan knew what he was getting himself into when he put his name in that goblet. They all did." Abe brushed along June's shoulder blade, spades of grass fell limply down to the ground. "Don't worry. I'm sure it won't be too dangerous, it's only the first task. What good will it do killing the champions at the begining of the tournament?" "Kidding. I don't think anyone's going to die." Abe reaffirmed, half convinced himself. His father had told him all about the tournament when he was growing up - about how they had to stop it because the death toll had grown. But they wouldn't bring it back if it wasn't safe, Belleford wouldn't have allowed it if it was extremely dangerous. Abe picked the last few piece of grass off June's back and smiled, satisfied. "There you go, perfect. No more grass." He announced proudly, clapping her softly on her now clean back. |

June twitched ever so slightly as Abe helped get the grass off her back, "That tickles!" she exclaimed, giggling sweetly, trying not to disturb him. "You're right, but... I doubt he really thought he'd be chosen... I mean, no one expected it. If someone had said that they thought Tristan would be chosen before they... confirmed it, I wouldn't believe them," With that, June just closed her eyes, smiling to herself while the tickle of Abe's hands removing grass continued. "All gone? Thanks a lot, I don't want to be known as grass-back or something, I've got enough silly nicknames," June wasn't completely certain which feeling was most dominant in her, relief that the grass was off, or dissapointment that she wouldn't feel Abe's touch anymore. Allowing her bottom lip to slip between her teeth, June sucked on it while wondering if she'd ever be able to stop feeling Abe's every touch as electric sparks flying through her body, and begin thinking of him more as a friend. "What do you reckon of the martial law, by the way?" |

Abe's smiled faltered slightly. Martial Law. "I really don't know what to make of it, to be honest. I mean, I guess it's for our protection and safety but it seems a bit extreme: not allowing us to leave? That's sort of ... " Abe stopped himself. He hadn't really spent that much time thinking about the new Law set in place. But now that he was thinking about it, he didn't agree with it. Witches and Wizards always had a right to take their kids out of Hogwarts whenever they wanted - they didn't even have to send them there. But now they were all trapped together. Hogwarts did seem like one of the safest places in the world at this time, but the Knights had entered the castle once - whose to say they couldn't do it again? "I just don't like the fact that we're 'stuck' here until they decide to lift the law. What about the holidays? My parents want me to come home. I mean, over the winter break. But I had other plans..." Plans involving Emma. "Whatever, hopefully they lift it, but who knows. What do you think about it?" He inquired, smiling brightly at June. |

"Well, it is sort of understandable, and it makes me feel safer, but if it means that I'm not going to Rodrigo's for the holidays, then I'm throwing a tantrum," June didn't really mind not being out of bed by this and that time, she normally didn't have anything she needed done late at night anyways. But she had really looked forward to spending time with Rodrigo, even though the mere thought of meeting his family scared her more than a bug ever could dream of, and June hated bugs. "You know, what about Christmas, are they going to open all our presents to check that its not dangerous?" She spun a lock of blonde hair around her finger, looking at Abe, "They'll lift it soon, I suppose, once the ministry gets together again and catches he-who-should-not-be-named. They did it once, they can do it again," |

Finally she just dropped to the ground and layed on her back, looking up at the branches and the sky and trying to avoid thinking about Gabe and Camellia and everyone else in this stupid stupid school. |

Collin watched in amusement as a red headed blur stomped past him and promptly started to ram her foot into an innocent tree. His curiousity got the best of him as he quickly muttered, "Excuse me," to his fellow Slytherin and meandered over to the girl. On his way across the grounds, he couldn't help but wink and flash a smile at the giggly Beauxbatons girls. When he got over to her, he racked his mind for any sort of name. Coming up with Margaret which he was almost sure wasn't correct, he simply said. "You know that's probably considered destroying school property," he smirked, leaning up against the tree she was attempting to karate-kick in half. |
