Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Flavia Petrovska
Fifth Year

Flavia stepped into the grounds cheerfully.

Looking around, there were people there-all chattering and talking. Flavia felt, strangely, alone.

It was extremely cold, the air coming in cold blasts and Flavia, however wrapped in coats and furs, had to shiver slightly. Partly from fear, partly from the cold wind, she shuddered. She had been feeling strange lately, seemingly out-of-place.

She stumbled towards a tall Ravenclaw girl, smiling. She was glad to ahve some company, and she was sure that this girl would be much friendlier than those she had come across in the past few days.

"Hi, I'm Flavia. Cold, isn't it?" she blubbered, hoping not to sound intimidating.

Aiden Minami

"Yeah, I know what you mean, Pyjama. See you 'round!" Aiden said to June as he and Amaya walked away. He looked Amaya over as she had turned around to face him. He let another smile turn his lips up. She was really cute. And he liked cute. He hoped he didn't mess this one up like he'd messed things up with June. Not that he didn't want another friend, but this Amaya was too cute to let slip away. And he already had a connection with her, being from Japanese parents and all.

"No, nowhere in particular," Aiden answered. He pulled at the blonde streak behind his ear again: a bad nervous habit. He then felt the scarf, realizing he'd forgotten to give it back. He'd definitely have to do that later. Especially since it was a Hufflepuff scarf! He then realized that Amaya might want to go somewhere in particular, so he added, "Unless you want there to be somewhere particular." He listened to the awkwardness of that sentence. Had that even been English? He shook his head, chuckling at his own strangeness, deciding to change the path of the conversation.

"So, you seem like a Ravenclaw, am I right? Quiet yet smart?" he asked. Was "quiet" a compliment? Oh, he hoped so. How stupid would he be if he started screwing things up at the very beginning. It would be just like him, though, to say one stupid word that made her mad.

Amaya smiled shyly as Aiden followed her away from June and the lakeside. She hadn't had many good chances to meet her fellow students so far. Amaya had always thought that making friends at Hogwarts was going to be difficult, not only because she was a newcomer to Hogwarts, and her fellow students had a 4 year head start to meet people, but also because many people might mistake her quietness for her snubbing them. This was, of course, ridiculous. After having her father's own personal manners drilled into her during long gruelling sessions, Amaya could barely find it within herself to even imagine ignoring a student who had done her no wrong. But, for once, it appeared that Amaya had been presented with a great oppurtunity to spend some personal time with a fellow student, in this case, Aiden.

"Unless you want there to be somewhere particular." Apparently for Aiden the offer of a walk was more based around some private time with Amaya, then any great preference for a new location or physical excercise.

"Not really, anywhere is fine with me." Amaya smiled slightly, trying to reassure this boy, who seemed very uncomfortable.

"So, you seem like a Ravenclaw, am I right? Quiet yet smart?"

Amaya laughed softly at this, she had always thought that she was hardly a difficult person for the Sorting Hat to assign. She almost seemed to be an ideal Ravenclaw, in the sense that she was indeed intelligent, eager to learn, and mainly kept to herself.

"I guess so! I've never really attended a school like this before, so I might come across as really quiet, but I can be quite talkative when I get settled. What about you? Are you as brave as a Lion?" Amaya said this jokingly, dropping her formal approach slightly to try and show this fellow Japanese student that she too could talk freely, without the restraints of her traditional values.

Aiden Minami

Aiden's shoulders relaxed a little as Amaya said there wasn't anywhere in particular she wanted to go. That was good. They could just wander around the grounds. It was as if there was no danger at all! He had, after all, completely forgotten about the news he'd learned that morning. It was somewhere deep inside his mind, gone for a good while, or until someone reminded him. Both hands were back in his pockets now, giving him a laid back appearance again. He was more comfortable around Amaya every second. Maybe that was because of their similar background? Whatever the case, it was nice to feel at ease again.

When he had pinned her right, he grinned. Perfect. Ravenclaws were always nice and wonderful. He wasn't one that stuck to his own house when it came to girls. In fact, he preferred girls from other houses...except Slytherin. He never really liked Slytherins. When she asked about his bravery, he held his chin high. "Naturally!" he said proudly. "One of the bravest there is, if I do say so myself." He winked at Amaya with a chuckle.

He thought for a moment, wondering what else he could talk about that was light. What he came up with was probably the thing Amaya got most, but he was curious. "You probably get this a lot," he started, looking over at her and taking in her appearance once more, just for good measure. "But, what's it like, living in Japan? I've always wanted to go, really. You know, see what my parents left behind, but I've never gotten the chance."

"Naturally!" he said proudly. "One of the bravest there is, if I do say so myself."

Amaya giggled at this comment. She could tell that he didn't mean it completely seriously, no-one would be that vain so early, unless they were making a bad attempt at hitting on her. Amaya walked along, letting her hands fall naturally by her side, occasionally lifting one to brush her hair back into position. It was good weather for a walk, but the wind wasn't so kind to her hair. Speaking of hair, Amaya was quite impressed with her companions style. Back home most of her relatives and neighbours had more traditional hairstyles, her mother being the notable exception. It was all down to her mother than Amaya took such pride in her appearance. It was difficult to grow up with a beautiful mother, without beginning to copy her and learn from her. EIther way, she couldn't help looking at Aiden's hair as they walked together, quietly admiring it.

"You probably get this a lot," he started, looking over at her. "But, what's it like, living in Japan? I've always wanted to go, really. You know, see what my parents left behind, but I've never gotten the chance."

Amaya smiled and gathered her thoughts. She loved speaking about her home but, where to start?

"Many people seem curious about Japan, but I don't mind answering some of their questions. I was born and raised in a small village community north of Osaka. My family are rich, my Father is the CEO of a Japanese company, so we were at the top of the village heirarchy. I was home tutored, mainly by my mother, in magic as well as normal studies. I never attended a normal school, so I'm finding it difficult to adapt here. How do you find Hogwarts?"

Veronica Rae

After a few minutes of trying to get comfortable against the stone cold pillar, Veronica fell into a sort of snooze though she was still aware of her surroundings and every single sound. Footsteps, the constant hum of people talking in the Great Hall, the trees creaking as they leaned sideways with the wind and some other sound that she couldn't quite place. The sounds soon became a steady rythm and she drifted into a more comfortable snooze even though she was still aware of the wind whipping around her and numbing her fingers.

After a few more attempts, she groaned and opened her eyes again. The first sight that greeted her was the same as when she had closed her eyes with the exception of a few people walking about. She looked up as she heard footsteps and turned around to face whoever it was, hoping against god that it wasn't a slytherin. Veronica waved at the girl who introduced herself as Flavia and gestured for her to sit. "I'm Veronica." She gave the girl a bright smile before continuing. "And yes. It most certainly is. I don't like windy days." Veronica couldn't help but complain.

She laughed and rubbed her nose which had gone cold due to the constant gusts attacking it. Her cheeks were a bright pink and she moved on to rubbing them as well.

Abe rubbed his neck before returning his exposed hand back into his pocket. The jealousy inside him continued to growl, but Abe decided to take the friend route. "Well, that's because you are cute June." He assured her with a charming smile, his cheeks flooded with color on account of the weather. "I wish you weren't scared. Nothing's going to happen to you." Abe told her in a matter-of-fact tone, the look on his face suddenly feverent.

"What's been bringing you down?" He asked quietly, reaching to place his hand on her shoulder. He thought better of the action and instead swung his feet alongside his body awkwardly before stuffing it in his pocket. Abe was acting like a complete tool. He normally never acted this unsure of himself, not even around Emma. And if anyone had the power to bring out the insecure side of him - it would be Emma.

June blushed, "Tha-thanks," she smiled towards him. Yes, she knew she was cute, she'd heard it a lot. But, it was so different when he said it. It was more special when it was his words, accompanied with one of his beautiful, bewitching smiles. Looking down at her feet, June began chewing on some of her hair, nervous.

Sucking on the hair, she pondered on his question. Of course she wanted to believe the first, and it was comforting to hear, but she knew something would probably happen to her sooner or later, her family... Someone would get hurt, and Junes safe little bubble would collapsed. Watching him reach out, then decide not to, confused her. June had always considered Abe to be brave, someone more certain. It was all but unnerving to see him insecure. Jumping to the first and best conclusion her head came with, June was convinced that it must have been what... She kicked herself in the heel for thinking about it, it had never happened.

There was no doubt, June was horrid at trying to suppress things. She had to admit that, and that it was time to answer his question. "I've been thinking again, I guess. Thinking makes me remember things I don't want to know, like..." She pressed her hands towards her sides, to stop them from shaking. June needed a distraction, something else to think about. Biting her lip, June avoided looking at Abe, she didn't want him to see her look like a coward, even though she was one.

What happened to June's plan of trying to cheer others up?

Abe nodded as she spoke, watching her like a hawk would stalk it's mouse prey. "Thinking again?" He laughed, his white teeth shining in the bright sunlight. "You and me both. But not about things that I don't like to remember..." Abe stopped. He did an extremely good job at keeping his skeletons firmly shut away in the back of the closet. He hardly ever thought about his past. It hurt too much when he did, so he trained himself to forget. It was to conserve his sense of self. To maintain any sanity he might still have.

"Well, maybe you should control your thoughts a bit more," He suggested in a playing tone, smiling down at her. "Only think about the happy things. I mean, yeah of course you're going to worry. But you worry too much June." Abe's voice turned serious as he took his hands from his pockets and placed them on June's shoulders. "Things are going to happen. Things beyond your control. You shouldn't worry yourself sick over them."

"June, you have a huge heart. Worrying seems like all you do. But your young, you shouldn't have to hold the weight of the world on your shoulders just yet. Think of all the happy. Think of all the good. Don't focus on the bad, and the 'what it's' because when you do, you miss out on what's happening now." Abe gave her a comforting shake. He had transformed, that was certain. Sure, his flirtatious instinct was still present, as was his sly smile - but the way he thought had changed - the way he spoke was altered. It was almost as if he meant what he was saying...

and the scary part to Abe, was that he did.

June looked at him in awe while he spoke, he was so smart, she realised. Feeling his hands on her shoulders, June felt her knees get wobbly. Clicking them together so he wouldn't notice, June watched his mouth speak. The words were like those of a teacher, and June was getting annoyed of it. Another person who knew what was the best for her, but for once, the person wasn't about to mold her after their idea. That was what made her not remove his hands and spit out a accusation.

June's eyes were still glued to his mouth, she didn't dare look him in the eyes, the fabulous, dreamy eyes... The beautiful - June snapped out of it. What was it he said, miss out on what's happening now. Either she dreamed of the past, or she worried for the future, it was who she was. She should be more like she had been with Aiden, fun, spontaneous. With a smile, she thought out loud, "Happy thoughts... I've made a new friend today, thats happy. I've totally embarrased myself many times, and I would find it funny if it wasn't for the fact that it was me... I've got everything I can wish for...-" June didn't think it would be wise to add 'I'm here with you,' she had embarrased herself enough,"- You're right, I worry too much."

With a blush, she added, "You are so smart, you're nice all the time. Giving everyone a chance... I wish more people were like you."

Abe shook his head, "No you don't, I'm not so great." He said playfully, "I mean, I'm totally good looking and everything, but really...looks are only skin deep." Abe winked at June. It felt like old times when he did so. He dropped his hands, but nudged June on her arm. "Yeah, happy thoughts. A new friend, that's good. And...don't take this the wrong way but I don't think I'd like you as much if you didn't embarrass yourself on a daily basis." He teased, smiling at her.

"But you forgot one important, extremely happy thing..." Abe gave June a playful, scolding look before continuing. "I'm here!" He said pompously, holding his hands out as if he was going to say taaa-daaa.

June laughed, "Oh my, I didn't notice," she pretended to be suprised, as if Abe had jumped out of nowhere, "Still, I could do without..." June flushed with color when she remembered her and Aidens conversation. The last question appearing in the back of her mind, and she tried to remember something that wasn't too disgusting, "Accidentally kissing someone, and... Saying things I don't mean... Uh, turning into a tomato jelly-legs when I meet you," damn, she did not just say that, before he had time to think over it, she added, "You know, just hypothetically, of course... I don't become a toma-"

"Oh, look!" said June all of a sudden, pointing at the lakes, hoping her distraction would make him forget what she just said, "I think I saw the giant squid."

Collin nodded to Chester. Raising an eyebrow, he looked up at the sky. The weather was somewhat average. Cool, cloudy. Somewhat gloomy in Collin's opinion. "Uh, sure," he said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Feeling a lag in the conversation, he felt the need to step in.

"So how's the escape affecting you?" he asked. He himself didn't have much of a story to tell. It was just something that happened. Something as pointless as... well, the weather. Well. Almost.

Abe roared with laughter, despite the cold he felt a warming sensation in his chest. "Accidently kissing somebody?" He wondered aloud, cocking his eyebrow. His first conclussion was that she was referring to their kiss. But he doubted a girl would be hung up over that when it happened almost a month ago. But girls were confusing creatures, to say the least.

"And don't change the subject, although the Giant Squid is quite an amazing creature!" Abe said, glancing quickly to the lake and then back at June. "So what, you get jelly legs everytime you meet me? I seem to have that effect on people." He joked, running a hand through his short hair. "You know, I seem to have the effect on me even!" Abe boasted playfully, "Seriously, when I look in the mirror, I get weak in the knees!"

Well, Abe Halifax never claimed to be modest.

"Oh merlin, you heard it, I need to learn to shut up..." said June between gritted teeth, still smiling. Laughing while he joked around, June waited till he was done, "The accident kiss was awful, I was suppposed to just peck him on the cheek, but of course he turned his head," she giggled, "Are boys always like that?" asked June out loud, "I'm glad you and Rodrigo are not perverted, honestly, you should have heard some of the questions...."

"Can we sit down or something? My legs are hurting from all the wobbling," said June with a smile, "Or is walking around the lake essential to your plan?"

"Honestly, I didn't have a plan." Abe admitted sheepishly, flopping down onto the cold grass and patting the empty space next to him. "And yes. All boys are like that." He told her in all seriousness. What June needed was a real family. Sure, she had plenty of siblings, but none ever seemed to be around enough to guide the youngest of the quadtuplets. "Every boy is perverted. Actually, I'm pretty sure everyone is perverted - girls included." He laughed, gazing out onto the lake from the bank which he sat.

It was true. Everyone seemed to have a dirty mind. But some just didn't let the dirty part have a voice. That was the difference between a pervert, and everybody else. "Was it that Asian boy who just left? Was that the mistake?" Abe said, a slight edge to his voice. He did not want June to be his girlfriend, yet he still felt protective over her. "Do you want me to hit him?" He offered, looking up at June and smiling innocently.

"Aw, and I hoped to escape it, actually," said June, sitting down beside him. Leaning back, she rested her weight on her elbows, "Then again, I doubt having a question round is the best idea to avoid it," she took a deep breath, glad she no longer was stuttering, "Yeah, it was him, but it doesn't matter... He's nice, I don't think he'll use it against me or anything, so..."

Licking her lips since they were getting dry, June could nothing but laugh at the innocent smile and idea that Abe came with, "No, I can handle myself. I'm a big girl, well, perhaps not in size..." She beamed, looking up at the skies, looking at the shapes of the clouds, "I'll just strangle him afterwards," June liked just talking. Another happy thing! I'm getting good at this.

Abe laughed, mimicking June and leaning back, resting his elbows on the grass. "I don't doubt that you can't handle yourself, I'm offering as a friendly service. You know, just in case." He grinned, shifting his gaze back onto the motionless black lake. "Let me know when you're going to strangle him, I could use some entertainment."

Abe was feeling unbearably happy again. Sitting with June had lifted the weight of guilt from him, it was extremely therapeutic. "So during that questions game, did you admit that you couldn't stop undressing me with your eyes?" Abe asked playfully, rolling his head sideways and beaming at June. After a coy wink, Abe straighted his head and continued gazing out at the water. "Did he ask you to the ball?? He inquired, clearing his face of any emotion. It was already definite he was going with Emma, he didn't want June to the wrong idea.

"I'm in Slytherin, but I support Tristan," she said with a hint of pride in her voice. "After all, it's still a Hogwarts victory if he wins. How about you?"

Veronica rubbed her nose and cheeks vigorously trying to create some friction. Sure, she was freezing and every cold part of her body was telling her to go inside but the wind was doing a great job at waking her up. She pulled away completely from the stone pillar and rubbed her sore shoulder. Veronica paused in the task of massaging her shoulder as the girl said that she was a Slytherin and still supporting Tristan. "Are there a lot of people from your house supporting Tristan?" Veronica said coldly, not having forgiven the Slytherin for coming up to their table and taunting him.

"I'm supporting Tristan, of course. He is in my house after all. Veronica said before grinning at her next comment. "Yes, it is very windy. But tell me, do you think Tristan's got a chance against that giant bloke from Durmstrang?" She said, interested in her view. Veroica reasoned that sitting there would only stiffen her body and make it ache, later on. She stood up suddenly and turned to her. "Wanna go for a walk? I'm afraid I'll freeze if I sit any longer." Veronica asked brightly as she smiled at Flavia.
