Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Aiden Minami

Aiden stood back after his own rock had skipped. He wanted to watch and see if June got it. He watched...and watched...and eventually decided that she was taking an unnessersarily long time to skip a rock. The time gave him some extra seconds to look out over the lake. It really was a nice sight. He wondered where the giant squid was, and what it was doing. What did squids do with their spare time? They couldn't skip rocks. Or could they? He shooks his head. What was he thinking? Squicds skipping rocks...it was just nonsense!

His view of the lake was broken by a plop. Apparently, June had tossed her rock, and...it hadn't skipped. Ah, well. He hadn't expected her first, er, second time to work, really. But, at least she was having fun. She was giggling, apparently, and that made him crack a grin. "I don't think you're crazy," he said to her, shaking his head again. Not crazy, just a little silly.

He bent over, looking at the ground. The first rock had been a good one, finding one like it would be hard. He did, though, end up finding a second flat rock, which he picked up. He held it out in the palm of his hand for June. "Here you go. Make it a good one!"

"Not crazy," June nodded her approval, "Well, that's good to know!" With a lighthearted laugh, June smiled with her whole body as she took a step forward to take the rock from his hand, "I don't think you're too crazy, just in case you were wondering," She winked to tell him it was a joke, June didn't want to offend him, "Ok, so its between the thumb and finger, and then flick the wrist?" asked June, to double check.

"I pity you, right now, because I'm not going until I manage it, so either you'll have to wait, or go back alone," She thought over what she said, and added, "Scarfless," But what if he gets a cold? Then it will be my fault, and... June shook it off, before trying once more, "I don't want to watch," she said, and closed her eyes, "Tell me what happens,"

She flicked her wrist, and waited, "How did it go?"

"I'm Chester, pleased to meet you."

Wow he had managed to meet two people today, a new record. Meeting people was generally something he tried to avoid, but today seemed to have forced him into it. Funny how life worked that way, you try to spend your whole life trying to evade other slytherins as much as possible and then one seems to find you anyway. Could this be what people meant by karmic backlash? He hadn't wronged anyone though, or at least he didn't think he had. He'd exchanged a few heated words to be sure, but other than that he hadn't done much else.

"Sooo... nice weather, eh?"

It wasn't so much that he was actually interested in the weather, but he felt the need to strike up some sort of conversation lest their meeting be permeated with long awkward silences. Those silences often led to quick goodbyes and both parties walking off in seperate directions never to meet one another again.

Not that he had any experience of course.

Amaya had finally had her fill of reading for the morning, having worked through at least 5 of the dusty volumes that she had borrowed from the Libary. Having nothing to do, of any importance anyway, Amaya decided to go for a walk, and see what the day might hold, before she went with her fellow students to the first task.

She entered the grounds, enjoying the feeling of the sun on her face. She walked awhile, thoughts running through her head. A sudden *splash* jerked Amaya out of her daydreams and caused her to glance around, looking for the source of the sound. She spotted a couple near the lake, clearly skimming stones. Interested, Amaya approached them and smiled when the girl glanced at her.

"Hey, that looks like fun. I'm Amaya Kuroyume, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Amaya bowed slightly, sticking to the manners that her father had so painstakingly taught her.

Aiden Minami

"Not too crazy, huh?" Aiden asked, shoving his hands in his pockets. He nodded when she asked the steps again. He didn't mind that she wasn't going to go until she got it. He wanted to see her get it, too. It would be a little bit of an accomplishment on his part, too, since it would mean he actually taught something correctly. Standing back, he watched as the rock was flung out, and skipped across the lake's surface. "Great!" he explaimed. "That was awesome! You did it!" He grinned, but was suddenly surprised by a voice behind him. Turning around, he spotted a girl.

A very pretty girl, to be exact. And by her name and mannerisms, she was from the same ethnic background as he. He hadn't yet met anyone of the sort at Hogwarts before. And her looks were certainly a plus. He didn't bow, as he considered himself more Irish than Japanese, since he had grown up in Dublin. But, he did smile at the pleasant introduction. "Aiden Minami," he offered in return. He glanced towards June, wondering if the blonde was going to let this new girl join them. He silently hoped so.

"I did?" squealed a happy June, who began clapping her hands in glee, jumping up and down, "I did it! You did it! We did it!" Her skyblue eyes were filled with smiles, and her face the same as a proud child, before spinning around on her heels to welcome the new girl, "Hi Ayama Kurrie-" fail, "-Korifu-" June closed her eyes, and tried to concentrate, "Hi Ayama Koy-ree-yamme," She frowned, "Koriya- Oh, you know what I mean. I'm June Brooks, also known as pyjama," she winked to Aiden, sticking out her tounge,

"Am I supposed to bow now?"

Amaya smiled warmly as the boy introduced himself. From her first observations, he seemed to be Japanese, but his actions indicated that he was not completely comfortable with the traditional greeting. Either way, he had given her his name, Aiden Minami. She glanced at his face again, preserving it along with his name in her memory,Amaya hated to forget peoples names, almost as much as she disliked people forgetting hers!

The blond girl turned to introduce herself, but completely failed to pronounce "Kuroyume". Amaya didn't take offence at this, but giggled slightly to indicate that it was ok. The girl gave a name, June Brooks. It was a name that sounded somewhat familiar, but Amaya had no idea where she could have heard it before.

"Hi Aiden, I like your hair." Amaya giggled "You don't have to bow if you don't want to, it's just how we greet people back home."

Catching the wink, Aiden couldn't hold back a grin. Yes, June was definitely "Pyjama" to him.His mind did a mental run through of how she had gotten the name and he had to force himself not to laugh out loud. That had certainly been an interesting and amusing conversation. Ah, how he loved making new friends in the strangest of ways. Too bad it had ruled June out for any "more than friends" actions. Ahh well, what could he do, right? "Friends" was a good title, too.

Hearing the comment about his hair, he tossed his head to flick bangs out of his eyes, commenting back with, "Thanks." He listened to the rest of what Amaya had to say, and caught the "back home" statement. Did that mean she was directly from Japan? From the bow, he wouldn't be surprised. "So, you live there, huh?" he asked Amaya. He was, naturally, curious to find out more about this pretty girl.

"Thanks." said Aiden, flicking his bangs from his eyes. Amaya smiled softly, she took great personal pride in her hair, and always found that she got on well with people who had clearly put good effort into their hair, such as Aiden. She absent-mindedly brushed a strand of her own hair out of her face from where the gentle breeze had blown it. "So, you live there, huh?" Aiden asked. Amaya nodded, clearly Aiden meant Japan, and she was only too happy to talk about it. "Yes, I live there with my family. We live in a village, north of Osaka. I was born and raised there. I have a cousin who lives in London, so I go there for some holidays, but I always miss home." Amaya smiled softly, thinking of home always evoked strong memories. "Where do you live, if you don't mind me asking?"

Aiden Minami

With a twit of a brother, an ungrateful mother, and a father who was never home, that's where Aiden lived. But, to be civil, he answered with, "In Dublin. You know, I've never been to any other country besides here or home." He thought about home, though. Although they were smack in the middle of Dublin, his home was still very...Asian. Like fish breakfasts. For the second time that day, he thought of the only thing he missed from home: the food.

Shaking his head, he got rid of any thoughts that concerned those muggles at home and focused on the present. Presently, there was one awesome friend at his side, and one cute girl in front of him. Where else could he possibly want to be? He glanced out at the lake, then back at Amaya. "So, I haven't really seen you around. In classes or anything. You're not...new, are you?" His mind was begging that she said yes. That would give him a chance to show her around. But, she seemed pretty comfortable here, so his doubts were high.

"In Dublin. You know, I've never been to any other country besides here or home." Aiden answered. This suprised Amaya somewhat. She had guessed that he didn't live in Japan, but Ireland was certaintly a country that would have been near the bottom of her guessing list. She didn't comment on the fact that she found this odd, as that might appear rude, and as her father always said, "Manners cost nothing, but breaking them does." . It seemed impossible for Amaya to meet a new person without one of her fathers motto's echoing inside her head.

"So, I haven't really seen you around. In classes or anything. You're not...new, are you?"

Amaya smiled slightly and tried her best to explain her almost unique situation. "Yes, I only started this year. I learnt everything up until now from my father and mother back home. They were very keen to give me a home education until they believed I was old enough to experience Hogwarts."

Wasn't there a school in Japan, though? Aiden thought he'd read about it somewhere. Maybe it was an all boy's school, and that's why she was here at Hogwarts. Whatever the reason, he was sure glad he'd gotten the chance to meet her. "Well, that's why I haven't seen you, then," Aiden said with a smile. He would have offered his hand then to shake, but he was sure she would more appreciate this: he bowed. It was a little sloppy, since he really didn't bow very often, only when confronting his father about something really serious, but he hoped it would make due. When he straightened up, his eyes glanced over at June to see how she was doing, and to make her know that he hadn't forgotten her presence.

"Well, it's certainly awesome to meet someone new, and even cooler that we're from the same background," he said, cracking another grin. "You know, it's a little accented, but I do speak some Japanese. Mum and Dad made me learn." There went his prideful side again, but he couldn't really help it. Part of him wanted to impress this pretty Amaya.

Amaya waited for the boy to respond, unsure of what exactly he would think of her background. It hadn't been strange to be taught by her parents, after all, she knew no better. But since coming to Hogwarts she noticed how at ease the other students were with the school, whilst she was still trying to fit in.

"Well, that's why I haven't seen you, then," Aiden responded. Amaya smiled a little at this, unsure of what to say. Her smile broadened and lit up her face as Aiden, somewhat awkwardly, bowed in traditional style. Amaya bowed back again, a smile still on her face.

"Well, it's certainly awesome to meet someone new, and even cooler that we're from the same background," he said, cracking a grin. "You know, it's a little accented, but I do speak some Japanese. Mum and Dad made me learn."

Amaya beamed at this, finally a chance to practise! Her parents, father especially, had always told her that while at Hogwarts, she must keep her Japanese in good practise, unless she wanted to sound like a gajin on her arrival home! "That's great! I haven't met anyone else here who can speak Japanese!" Amaya brushed a strand of hair from her face, giving herself a second to slide back into her mother tongue. "Konichiwa! Watashi wa Amaya desu. Hajimemashite!"

"Hajimemashite. Dōzo yoroshiku," Aiden replied, shoving his hands back in his pockets. He realized that he wasn't as comfortable with the language as he thought he was. He couldn't help but laugh. Even the two sentences that he did say were heavily accented and a little broken. "Maybe I should just stick with English, right?" he then asked, taking one hand out of his pocket to pull at the blonde strand behind his ear.

He glanced at June, silently asking if what he was about to say next was Ok. "Hey, Amaya...you, er, wanna take a walk?" He didn't want to leave June alone, but he could also always see her later.

((oh god...so short. My deepest apologies!))

"Hajimemashite. Dōzo yoroshiku," . Perhaps not as in depth as her father would insist upon, but she always enjoyed speaking Japanese when she could. Amaya broke into a smile as Aiden began to laugh at his pronounciation. "Maybe I should just stick with English, right?" he joked. "No, no!. That was great." smiled Amaya.

"Hey, Amaya...you, er, wanna take a walk?" asked Aiden, somewhat awkwardly. Amaya let her suprise show on her face, before letting a smile take its place. "Sure!" she exclaimed, before turning slightly to look at June warmly. "It was nice to meet you June. I hope to see you around." She walked forwards a little, turning round to face Aiden. "Anywhere in particular?" She joked.

Abe strolled out onto the grounds the early winter chill seemingly slapping against his exposed face as he decended onto the grass. Abe shoved his hands deep into his jeans pockets as the sweater his mother stitched him hugged his torso. It was fitted, snuggly outlining the contours of his muscled chest, exactly how he liked it - he enjoyed flaunting what he had to offer. A breeze ruffled Abe's hair as he briskly walked along the forest line, smiling as he did so.

It had been awhile since he had felt this good. Sure, he had been happy before in his life, but this happiness lingered along the bounds of estatic...or insanity. Of course, him and Emma hadn't defined their current status, but Abe felt they didn't need to. There was nobody else but her. And if she choose someone else - well, Abe would wait patiently. The thought bothered him slightly. He was willing to throw everything away for one girl? What would his father say about that?

Grinning, Abe cut through the lawn - the black lake which was home to not only the Giant Squid, but also the Durmstrang ship sprang into view, as well as a group of students lingering by the shoreline. Deciding that his stellar mood ought to be spent doing something productive - like making friends (perhaps), Abe wandered over. His eyes feel onto one girl in particular and the light inside him was stamped out.

June Brooks.

Abe stopped suddenly. It was like the wind had been knocked out of him. The temperature in the air seemed to drop a few degrees as guilt washed over him. A few breaths and Abe continuted, thinking how the group would think of him if they saw him turn and run off far, far away from them. A war raged inside him. He shouldn't be guilty, he actually should feel good about what he'd done. He didn't take advantage of her, a kiss was just a kiss. It was innocent and if Abe recalled correctly June did not stop him, even though she had the chance.

Abe had warned her. Everyone had to have warned her. He had put up the barrier between the two for her own good, not his. If it had been for his own peace of mind he wouldn't have felt so miserable on Halloween night. Halloween seemed so long ago, but Abe remembered ever detail in fine clarity. Him and June hadn't interacted since. Truthfully, Abe had been avoiding her. He didn't want to hurt her anymore than he had. But Abe couldn't stand not talking to her. He needed to explain.

And there was no time like the present.

Before Abe knew it, he was standing in the midst of the group, his eyes locked on June. "Hello." He said in an uncertain voice, shuffling his feet in awkwardness. "Do you fancy a walk, around the lake with me?" He asked, biting his lip and hoping that his eyes conveyed his message he was desperately hoping she recieved. He was sorry. And he wanted to tell her, face-to-face...and in private.

Dumbfounded, June only blinked while they talked, feeling like a alien. When Aiden bowed, June suddenly found herself in a curtsy, which she quickly tried to pretend hadn't happened. Nodding every now and then, June looked for escape routes, and when Aiden began talking about taking a walk...

June replied, a little to quick, "Oh yeah, bye!" With a forced smile, she turned to Amy-something, "Nice seeing you, uh, yeah, have a nice time..." June bit her tongue to avoid saying 'and stop confuzling me with weird words,' Turning to Aiden, she added a, "Be nice to her, your royal tallness of perve-I'm too lazy to say it, you know what I mean anyway,"

June turned on her heels, ready to leave as soon as possible, when she stumbled into someone, "Move it-" she said, and looked up, turning red once she saw who it was, "Oh... H-h-hi," she stuttered, looking right at Abe Halifax, "I- He has my scarf, I forgot to ask to get it back," she pointed towards Aiden, giving a slight nod, before realizing how incredibly stupid she sounded. Right now, she just wanted to get away, she'd pick Japanese conversation before talking to Abe.

"Uh, a walk, yeah, sure, whatever," June was nervous, this wasn't some fooling around, Abe was wanting to talk with her. She hated talks. They scared her, speaking with someone who had planned what to say, to some degree, and wanted to teach her about something, "I've already walked around it, today, thats why he has my scarf, but it doesn't matter," June cursed herself, You and that god damn scarf.

"What have I done wrong now?" she said, all of a sudden, "Nothing has happened, right?" With a gasp, she turned towards him, wondering why Abe would want to talk to her. Perhaps it was because of what happened in the trophy room. June hoped not, she wasn't sure if it was a dream or not, or, she wanted to not be sure... What else could it be? A terrible idea hit June, who clasped her hands over her mouth, "Oh no, nothings happened to Jenny or something? Please say she's ok, I don't want... Oh dear, it is Jenny, right? It must be. Right?"

OOC: Shitty post. But its 03.44 so...

Abe held his hand out to stop June from tripping over her own words, something he noticed she did quite a lot around him. At first he was flattered, but soon enough felt sick. "June. Stop. Nothing's happened to anybody..." That wasn't entirely true, there were two hundred souls taken that very morning but he hardly felt the need to bring that subject up, "I just wanted to talk. You know, see how you've been." His eyes flickered from June to a departing asian.

In an instant, jealously flared inside him. Abe wasn't sure why. He was the one who had cut ties with June not the other way around. Abe was the one currently drooling over a Ravenclaw, not June. So why should he feel jealous? The answer was lost on him, but his brow furrowed. "Why does he have your scarf?" He asked, trying to sound casual yet his tone a bit harsh nonetheless. Abe didn't like the guy already, and he didn't even know him. Curiousity bubbled inside of him, but the urge to chase the boy, strangle him with June's scarf, and then return with it surpassed it.

"Who is he anway?" Abe asked bitterly as another gust of wind whipped past him and June. Abe tried to focus on June, he did. But his eye keep lingering to where the boy had disappeared to. Realizing his tone, Abe hitched on a grin and smirked down at June - his hands in his pockets still.

June swallowed, nodding once she knew nothing had happened to Jenny. One thing was getting hurt herself, another was her family or her friends getting hurt. Right now it didn't matter to June what he said, Jenny was ok, "How I've been... Str-r-ressed, sca-scared... So much is happening, and I just want to... Live. I'm selfish, I know, I acted like a idiot before, I still act like one," June rubbed her throat, trying to rid herself of the lump, "In the end it doesn't matter, you can forget things you don't want to know. Just put on a mask, smile to the world and do what everyone says, just like one should. Like a good girl is supposed to do, I try my best while the world spins below me," She looked over the lake with glazed eyes, "I'm glad Jenny is alright, she might not be the best sister, but she's still my sister."

She smiled when he mentioned Aiden, "Oh, he took me out to have some fresh air, and he was cold, so I lended him half, and later on, after we had been," June tried to find the right word, "talking, fooling around, I was warmer, so I let him use all of it. Besides, the scarf was practically choking me. He's very funny, did you know that he thought I was cute? That was why he came over to me in the first place. So many ways to get new friends, don't tell Rod, but he's almost as funny as him. He is very perverted though, and he calls me pyjama," with a giggle, June loved how it was easier to talk about others, "his name is Aiden, he's from Ireland, but I think he's actually Japanese,"

Veronica Rae

The cold wind hit Veronica on the face as she escaped from the boundaries of the castle and out into the grounds. She was still twirling her wand around in her hands as the hair on the back of her neck prickled eerily. The nightmares really had scared her, it seemed. She sat heavily onto the steps in front of the castle and put her elbows on to her knees. Veronica felt like such a loner right then and there. Sitting on the steps of the castle as everyone chattered about the task. Brushing off the self-pity, she stretched and relaxed as her body fell at ease again.

She reminded herself that the Common Room couches were not a good place to take a nap. Veronica shoved her wand into her pocket and rested her chin onto her hands, letting her eyes skim across the grounds. There were lots of students, either talking or walking or something completely different. Boredom pressed on her from all directions and she couldn't help but yawn, her breath coming out in a thin cloud of vapour. She rubbed her neck tiredly and leaned slightly against the pillar beside her. Veronica would have fallen asleep, yet again, if only it weren't so cold.
